  • Password for Nook Tablet

I have a Cisco/Linksys home router- got it for my laptop which is not working right now...anyway we purchased a Nook Tablet for our daughter which needs to connect to wifi- but when I go through set-up on the Nook, it says I need my 'wireless password'! So I type in my 'usual password' and it disconnects and says it's the "wrong password"....
    Update:
‎....So, today I called Cisco/Linksys support and the gal w/ the heavy accent tells me that to give me my current password OR to reset it so I may use it (my own router) I have to pay her $29.99 for a "one time tech support fee"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????????
So, I say 'well my router's not broken and there's NO problem w/ it...it's just that Century Link installed it for us and they don't support it or even know what the password is!? For the laptop it just connected right away and I didn't have to type any password!!
So now I'm stuck between the terrible and UNFAIR policies of two greedy corporations!
Century Link can't help me and Cisco- which can wants to charge me 30 bucks just to TELL ME THE PASSWORD THAT CAME W/ MY ROUTER!

"I would like to understand what password you are using. What is your router model? What security are you implementing on your network? Login to your routers admin page and check under wireless->wireless security."
"password and connection issues are usually easy fix. answer Reuel's questions"
"Hey Reuel, where is my "router's admin page"? I'm running AVG Security. My laptop that does not 'work' ( I believe the charger quit charging, so the battery's dead) is why I had Centurylink install it. I don't recall ever having to 'login' via a password, just had to turn on the router and all was good.
I use the same password basically for everything w/ just minor variations but none of those worked according to the results on the new tablet?!"

  • Please help: Nook Tablet app development with AIR/Flash CS5.5?

    Hello,
I developed my first-ever iOS app using Flash CS5.5 (the app has stability issues, addressed in a separate thread).  Next on the list is Android deployment.
Can anyone indicate if Flash CS5.5 can be used to develop Android apps for the Nook Tablet?  My problem is that the Android-based guidance I've read tells you to take your Android device and configure it for "USB Debugging."  The Nook Tablet has no such setting, unlike many other Android phones and tablets.  Basically, I need current step-by-step guidance on Android development, plus any guidance on anything different that needs to be done for the Nook Tablet.  Thank you for any advice.

Hi, I can confirm that you can develop apps for the NOOK color and tablet. You must use Air 2.6 since the device is pre loaded with that version of air.
Some devices dont support USB debugging, like my kindle fire however a more painful way of doing it is to publish out an apk and then manually load it on to your device either through a file manager of some sort or by emailing yourself the file and then installing it. Be sure to enable your device to accept unknown source files.
I recently published a couple of apps to the NOOK store that I had only tested on an HTC phone and the kindle fire and they both passed the test so I believe the NOOK seems to behave very similar to most android devices and the kindle fire, same dimensions at least as the KF.

  • How to connect iphone 4s to nook tablet

Where can I get a cable to hook an iPhone 4s to a nook tablet?

    For what?
If there is such a cable, you wouldn't be able to do anything such as transferring data.
I believe the only cable connection for a NOOK is for charging the battery.

  • Book Nook Tablet

I can not get by book nook tablet to show up on the adobe home page to download library books.  I made some changes to my tablet registration and downloaded the updated adobe.  I have the same e-mail address for both the tablet and adobe registrations.

Could you provide more information about your system configuration?  Do you actually have a Nook tablet that is running the Android operating system or a Windows 8 tablet with the Nook Windows Store app?  Neither one of them seems related to this forum for Adobe Reader for Windows 8 Tablets, though.

  • Erase tool not working-possible tablet problems?

Bear with me guys, this may be simple but I can't remember. I just upgraded from 2 to 4. I used my magnetic lasso and did a layer via cut. Discarded the background but want to do some additional erasing on edges. Block works but not brush. I am using a mouse with a pen tablet. Once before I went into options to disable my tablet but when I go into tablet or more options under brushes it only offers the new ones like scatter etc. Anyone?
    Thanks, Kimberly

Kimberly, there was another thread in the last week from someone who was
having similar problems. They wound up contacting Wacom, who were helping
resolve the problem. You might want to search for that thread and see if it
has a solution for your problem as well.

  • Wizardpen and Xorg 1.8.1, Genius Tablet problem and solution

Hello!!! I post this information just to contribute with a solution to a problem I was fighting with in the last days. I search for an answer and did not find it. If someone need more information feel free to ask. Oh! And sorry for my english.
    The Problem:
After the update of Xorg and the Wizardpen driver from the AUR my tablet was not working anymore. The hal policy did not work, because Xorg now uses other method for hotplugged devices. If you want to learn more read this http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xorg#InputClasses
    Solution:
We have to tell Xorg wich is the driver for that device creating an InputClass. To do that, we need some info about the tablet first. Execute:
    grep -i name /proc/bus/input/devices
and search for a line with the name of your tablet. In my case is:
    Name="UC-LOGIC Tablet WP8060U"
Now we need to calibrate the tablet, first execute:
    cat /proc/bus/input/devices
And search for a devices with the name you see before. In my case:
    I: Bus=0003 Vendor=5543 Product=0005 Version=0100
    N: Name="UC-LOGIC Tablet WP8060U"
    P: Phys=usb-0000:00:02.0-3/input0
    S: Sysfs=/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:02.0/usb2/2-3/2-3:1.0/input/input5
    U: Uniq=
    H: Handlers=mouse0 event5
    B: EV=1f
    B: KEY=c01 0 3f0001 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
    B: REL=303
    B: ABS=100000f
    B: MSC=10
See the line "H: Handlers=mouse0 event5". The last part tells you the device is in event5 (note that we do not use the mouse0), in your case could be other. Use this info to execute the next command with your event number:
    wizard-calibrate /dev/input/event5
Follow the on screen instruccions (press the pen on a corner of the tablet and on the oposite corner).  The last lines of the output look like this:
    Driver "wizardpen"
    Option "TopX" "2691"
    Option "TopY" "3249"
    Option "BottomX" "31462"
    Option "BottomY" "30089"
    Option "MaxX" "31462"
    Option "MaxY" "30089"
We will use this info in a moment.
Later create a text file /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/70-wizardpen.conf and put this content in it, but remember to change the text "THE NAME OF YOUR TABLET" to match the name you find previously and the configuration of your tablet calibration:
    Section "InputClass"
    Identifier "wizardpen"
MatchProduct "THE NAME OF YOUR TABLET"
    MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
    Driver "wizardpen"
    Option "TopX" "2691"
    Option "TopY" "3249"
    Option "BottomX" "31462"
    Option "BottomY" "30089"
    Option "MaxX" "31462"
    Option "MaxY" "30089"
    EndSection
    Section "InputClass"
    Identifier "wizardpen ignore mouse dev"
MatchProduct "THE NAME OF YOUR TABLET"
    MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/mouse*"
    Driver ""
    EndSection
In my case the file is
    Section "InputClass"
    Identifier "wizardpen"
    MatchProduct "UC-LOGIC Tablet WP8060U"
    MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
    Driver "wizardpen"
    Option "TopX" "2691"
    Option "TopY" "3249"
    Option "BottomX" "31462"
    Option "BottomY" "30089"
    Option "MaxX" "31462"
    Option "MaxY" "30089"
    EndSection
    Section "InputClass"
    Identifier "wizardpen ignore mouse dev"
    MatchProduct "UC-LOGIC Tablet WP8060U"
    MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/mouse*"
    Driver ""
    EndSection
Restart X or restart your computer and that's all. MY TABLET WORKS!!!
I read somewhere else, I don't remember where, that you can set other match sentences for Xorg that do not work for me, for some reason this is false for my tablet so I did not use this but for you may work. Inside the "Section" -> "EndSection" you can try to put this "Match" sentences in case Xorg failed to recognize your device.
    MatchIsTablet "on"
    MatchVendor "UC-LOGIC|KYE Systems|Ace Cad"
    MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/by-id/usb-UC-LOGIC_Tablet_WP8060U-event-mouse"
The last one is obtained whit this command:
    ls /dev/input/by-id
search for two devices, one called usb-name_of_your_tablet-event-mouse and other called usb-name_of_your_tablet-mouse, in my case the output of the "ls /dev/input/by-id" command is:
    usb-UC-LOGIC_Tablet_WP8060U-event-mouse
    usb-UC-LOGIC_Tablet_WP8060U-mouse
If you want to try you have to put those devices names in the right place, note that this not work for me. The file /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/70-wizardpen.conf would be like this, remember to change the device path to match yours:
    Section "InputClass"
    Identifier "wizardpen"
    MatchIsTablet "on"
    MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/by-id/usb-UC-LOGIC_Tablet_WP8060U-event-mouse"
    MatchVendor "UC-LOGIC|KYE Systems|Ace Cad"
    Driver "wizardpen"
    Option "TopX" "2691"
    Option "TopY" "3249"
    Option "BottomX" "31462"
    Option "BottomY" "30089"
    Option "MaxX" "31462"
    Option "MaxY" "30089"
    EndSection
    Section "InputClass"
    Identifier "wizardpen ignore mouse dev"
    MatchIsTablet "on"
    MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/by-id/usb-UC-LOGIC_Tablet_WP8060U-mouse"
    MatchVendor "UC-LOGIC|KYE Systems|Ace Cad"
    Driver ""
    EndSection
Ok, I hope someone find this usefull, good luck!

I updated the driver to the last version in AUR. It works without any configuration at me (no calibration or custom xorg.conf entries). I tried with xorg-server 1.9+ only, though.

  • IMac and wacom cintiq 21 tablet problem

Hi, i have a serious problem with a first gen intel iMac and a new wacom cintiq 21 u tablet monitor. The problem is that when i connect the tablet to the imac all i get are the terrible red ripples. Adjusting monitor display settings does not help at all. Same tablet works great with a windows based laptop and the following generation imac. I'm using the following connection scheme for connecting tablet to the imac:
tablet dvi-I -> adapter to dvi-d (included with tablet) -> dvi-d to mini dvi-d adapter -> imac. imac does not have a port for direct dvi-I connection. Again, same connection scheme works just fine on the next model of imac.
Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this problem? Could it be an older version of OS?
    Thanks in adavnce.

Since you say that it won't work with a first gen iMac, but works with "next model", have you considered installing a earlier version of a driver? Could it be that the latest driver isn't being recognized? I know that it said "10.4/10.5", but I ran into a problem with some third party software updater that simply would not work with my 10.4.11 even though it stated 10.4/10.5 and once I reverted back to the previous version, everything worked as it should.

  • How do I get Firefox on my Nook Tablet? I can't find "applications" in the tools as the Amazon download tells me to look for for a Kindle download. Somehow I managed to turn on Java but I can't even figure out how I found that anymore??

I'm not very tech savy and this Nook is new to me.

    Hi,
I'm sorry you're having this problem.

Unfortunately, you have to make some 'tech savvy' modifications in order to get Firefox on your Nook.
