  • Permission error from shared calendar Ofiice 2011

I am receiving the following errors every 15 seconds:
Permission Error. Changes to the event "Management Meeting" could not be saved because you do not have the appropriate permission.
Permission Error. Changes to the event "" could not be saved because you do not have the appropriate permission.
I have narrowed it down to a calendar that is being shared with me. When I remove the shared calendar the error messages go away. When I add it back the error messages come back.
How can I make the error messages stop?

  • Why can't I choose whether or not I want alerts from shared calendars?

My wife and I want to view each other's iCloud calendars, but she certainly doesn't need to recieve alerts for my meetings, nor do I need alerts for hers.  Am I missing something or is there no way around this?   What a huge flaw for a shared calendar!

This is unfortunately how the shared calendar systems works at the moment. The reminders appear event specific instead of user specific. Hopefully Apple will get around to fixing this as soon as possible.
This problem also appears with shared reminder lists in the new iOS5 5 reminder app.
Solution, unfortunately, is to share your calendars via a third party. For example, google.

  • Event Update Notices from Shared Calendar Members

I created a calendar in iCal for my wife and me to share. I gave her both Read & Write Privileges. It works great. She was not an iCal user before and now is in love with it.
    Here is my Problem:
When I add or edit an Event she gets a great email alerting her to the Event, but when she adds or edits an Event I do not receive an email alert .
Is there a way to make it so that when she adds or edits an Event I can get an email alert?
    Thank you for your suggestions,
    Marcantonio

    I finally figured it out.....
Open your web browser and log into www.icloud.com.
    Select calendar
Your shared calendars should appear down the left hand side
Click on the green circle (calendar sharing info)
This allows you to change your notifiction settings.
    Hope this helps.

  • Reminder from shared calendar

My wife and I are both MobileMe members. We share our calendars; before the Cal and grant each other view-only access, so that I know what she has planned and vice versa.
So far so good, but it seems that synchronization also transfers reminders to the shared calendar. In other words, my wife's reminders appear not only on her Mac and iPhone, but also on mine... which is more than we bargained for.
Is there a way to deactivate reminders on shared calendars?

My wife and I are both MobileMe members. Before the move to CalDAV we published our calendars and subscribed to each other's calendars, so that I knew what she had planned and vice versa.
Under the new CalDAV approach we thought we would achieve the same objective by sharing our calendars and granting each other view-only access.
So far so good, but it seems that synchronization also transfers reminders to the shared calendar. In other words, my wife's reminders appear not only on her Mac and iPhone, but also on mine... I get numerous alerts that are intended for her and which I cannot act on - this is more than we bargained for!

  • Random calendar alerts keep happening from shared calendars

I work at a 50 person organization. We all have a google calendar.  All staff can see everyone else's calendar.
On iOS 8.1.2 in the calendar app, when I click "Calendars" at the bottom, I can see a list of all staff calendar.  I can have them ticked to show them, or not.
When all calendars are unticked other than my own, I only see my calendar appointments.
The problem is in the notifications.  Without any easy to define pattern, from time to time I will have my phone notify me of random staff members appointments.  These are most often events I have nothing to do with (literally 6am "meetings" to wake up, go for a run etc etc).
If I click "show details", then quickly go back to the main calendar view, click "Calendars" down the bottom, I'll sometimes see that persons calendar ticked (even though they were all unticked previously) - but not always.
This problem has existed only since migrating from a iPhone 5 to iPhone 6. Both were up-to-date on 8.1.2.  On the iPhone 5 I couldn't even see everyone elses calendar so I had no option to subscribe to seeing their calendars in the app.
When the problem first started happening, it was happening all the time - every 15 minute interval as everyones calendars were reminding them of their next thing.  My phone would buzz like crazy.  It is happening less so now - just a few times a day.

thank you for the reply. here is the response I get:

  • How to stop notifications of events from shared calendars

So someone i work with has shared their calendar. I keep getting pop up notifications on my iphone every time an event on her calendar starts.  I am not that involved with her calendar but need access to help at times, but i just do not want a bazillion event notifications every day.
I have checked settings on both ends, and in my 'Reminders & Notifications' settings within google calendar settings, not one single item is selected.  Also within the phone settings, 'Mail, Contacts, Calendars' the bottom sellection "shard calendar alerts" is turned off.
I called Apple Venture and they couldnt solve it.  this is getting so frustrating......  any clues out there?

I'm having the same issues, Calendar is all acting up weird.
I have multiple calendars  -including imported Google calendars- in Calendar on OSX 10.8.3, and it sends event-alerts from an imported calendar that i have only READ access to, back to the owner that calendar, using MY private email adress as the sender. That is embarrasing, i have to stop using Calendar untill this is solved.
In Google calendar i have no sharing or reminders activated at all.
If anybody knows of a good alternative - preferably free - please share.

  • Why can't I receive alerts when my partner include new events from shared calendar?

I am able to share my calendar with my partner and he is able to receive alert whenever I add new event. However, I am unable to see future events which he includes and update in his calendar even though he has shared his calendar with me.
I have checked and the settings in iCloud are there, yet it is still not working.
Can anyone assist or have solution for this? Appreciate much!

yes, calendar alerts are enabled and it is his default calendar which he has shared with me. I have checked all calendars checked under the app as well.

  • HT203521 In iOS8 I can't turn off shared iCloud calendar alerts. I share iCloud calendars with 3 others and am constantly getting their alarms for upcoming appointments. Settings- Notifications- Calendar- Shared Calendar Changes turns off changes only.

Have had new iPhone 6 for 2 months, using iOS 8.  I share iCloud calendars with 3 others and I am getting bombarded with their upcoming appointment alerts.  There seems no way to turn this off.  I went to Settings->Notifications->INCLUDE(Calendar)->Shared Calendar Changes and turned everything off, but this only blocks alerts about new events or changes to events being added to the calendars, it does not block the 5-minute/10-minute/etc. alarms that go off immediately in advance of the appointment.  There used to be a setting in iOS7 in "Mail, Contacts, and Calendars" way at the bottom to turn off alarms from shared calendars, but I don't see that in iOS8.  Any ideas?

Finally figured this out when I read jodiemcneill 's post about Google calendars.  Thanks!
Reposting the basic idea: to turn off event alerts from shared ICloud calendars, select the Calendar App, then click the "info" (i.e., the circled red 'i') icon next to the shared iCloud calendar to be silenced. Go down to "Notifications" and turn the slider off for "Event Alerts: (Allow events on this calendar to display alerts.)"
For good measure, you can also turn off the slider for "Show Changes" to prevent the calendar from displaying messages when shared events are added/modified/deleted, although this can be done "globally" for all shared iCloud Calendars in Settings->Notifications->Calendar->Invitations (turn off all sliders, click "none" for Alert Style).
This has been a major pain in the ... neck ... for the past 3 months.  So glad to start the new year with a suddnely-much-quieter iPhone 6.

  • Shared Calendar Notifications

    Hello All,
I am having problems removing notifications from shared calendars. Is there a way for individuals to do this or does it need to be done through the systems admin. I can do either. Working with outlook 2010.

    Hi,
According to your description, I am not quite sure about your requirement. What’s the exact meaning about “notifications” in the shared calendar? Do you mean reminders?
Generally, Outlook only supports firing reminders in your own mailbox or default PST file. For a shared calendar, the reminder can’t be displayed. Reminders are available only for items stored in the main calendar:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/training/see-and-share-multiple-calendars-RZ001030994.aspx?section=8
Therefore, please provide more information about your requirement about why you need to remove notifications from shared calendars and which type of notifications you want to remove from shared calendars. Waiting for your updates:)

  • Can I create a shared calendar on iCal from the New iPad?

My company just gave out iPads for use to all field employees. My coworkers and I currently have an Outlook shared calendar that we utilize for scheduling our work. We can not access the shared calendars on our iPads, therefore I would like to create a shared calendar in iCal that we can all access for sharing our schedule as we were doing on Outlook. Is this possible?
NOTE: The idea is that I would like to use the iPad as the sole resource, instead of carrying our laptops around just to access the shared outlook calendar/schedule. The laptops are outdated junk that requires roughly 20 mins of time just to power up, connect and sign in to our servers...very inefficient.
    Thank you!

I have a bluetooth 2 keyboard from Brookstone, will it work with the iPad?

  • How can i open a shared calendar in mac calendar from outlook?

  • How do I stop iCal from sending notifications everytime I change a shared calendar or event?

iCal sends a notification (not an email) to all users of a shared calendar whenever an event is added or edited. How do I stop that?

as far as i understand iCal it is on the "receivers/subscribers" side to deal with email-updates (and not on the "senders/changers" side):
snippet from my Re: How do you stop receiving notifications about updated calendar events? (there is a screenshot as well):
to NOT get email notification about updated events from a shared calendar you subscribed to you have to uncheck "events affect availability" in that calendars "info" (mac os X.7 and X.8: iCal —> calendars dropdown —> right click on the subscribed calendar —> choose "get info" from the context-menu —> uncheck "events affect availability")

  • Users cannot edit a shared calendar of a shared mailbox that was deleted from the cloud and recreated on premise

    Description:
The following example account [email protected] is an on premise AD account being used as a shared mailbox in the cloud. We have discovered that regardless of what we do, not a single user can edit the calendar entries.
The following message is shown in Outlook Click to Run 2013 when an entry. "New appointment" button is also greyed out, including "Calendar Permissions" and some others.
This problem started when the shared mailbox was created wrongly by creating it in the cloud first and we had to delete it and start over. The "in the cloud" user was deleted and the same user was created in AD on-premise with the same account name
and then Dir Synced with the cloud. A license was assigned, a user mailbox on exchange online created and the type was converted to a shared mailbox and Editor rights were defined on the calendar folder for specific users.
    Actions performed:
Action01: gave users Editor rights on calendar folder through powershell
Result01: Rights correctly added and can be seen when get-mailboxfolderpermission is ran
Action02: Opened calendar with Outlook and tried to edit entries
Result02: Error message pops up saying "You don't have permission to create an entry in this folder. Right click the folder and check..."
Action03: Opened calendar with OWA of users
Result03: Users can edit the shared calendar on OWA
Action04: Gave users Full Access permission on mailbox with automapping on
Result04: Users can edit calendar in Outlook
Action05: Gave users Full Access permission on mailbox with automapping off (mailbox no longer visible in outlook)
Result05: Users cannot edit calendar in Outlook
Action06: Removed Full Access permission on mailbox for users
Result06: User cannot edit calendar in Outlook
Action07: Removed [email protected] from on-premise AD, performed dirsync, removed account from ms online using remove-msoluser -removefromrecyclebin
Result07: No trace of the account was anywhere to be found.
Action08: Created new [email protected] account on on-premise AD, assigned o365 license to user including exchange online license
Result08: New empty Exchange online mailbox was created
Action09: gave users Editor rights on calendar folder through powershell
Result09: Rights correctly added and can be seen when get-mailboxfolderpermission is ran
(Note: whenever mailboxfolder permissions are modified for this mailbox it's as if they are ran THREE times in a row, the first time they are applied and the powershell gives immediately 3 exceptions behind this:
An existing permission entry was found for user: [email protected]
        + CategoryInfo          : NotSpecified: (:) [Add-MailboxFolderPermission], UserAlreadyExis...nEntryException
        + FullyQualifiedErrorId : [Server=DBXPR05MB046,RequestId=3b3e080e-9aaf-4db9-9b90-b7171d59eba2,TimeStamp=7/11/2014

      nt.StoreTasks.AddMailboxFolderPermission
        + PSComputerName        : outlook.office365.com
Any other mailbox does not do this when setting mailboxfolder permissions)
Action10: Opened calendar with Outlook and tried to edit entries
Result10: Error message pops up saying "You don't have permission to create an entry in this folder. Right click the folder and check..."
Action11: Tried on a fresh new pc with first time logon
    Result11: did not help
    Additional information:
We have seen this problem with another user which was recreated, when he shares his calendar with others and people get the calendar invite email and click "Open Calendar" they receive a popup "The folder cannot be found".
My first impression points to a corruption/bug in the GAL on exchange online, since we're using o365 for midsize bussinesses we cannot use the AdressList role to expose the adresslist cmdlts for deeper troubleshooting.
    PS:
Issue tested on different computers and with different user accounts, not a single user can edit the calendar of [email protected] when editor rights are given.
Noticed when editing rights for the shared mailbox in powershell after the first confirmation line
Office 2013 is click to run was updated to latest version, version number: 15.0.4659.1001

    Greetings Gil,
I haven't heard of that one.
    Questions:
Does the calendar in question show up in the "Subscriptions" category of iCal?
If you remove all accounts from iCal > Preferences > Accounts and quit and re-open iCal, does the calendar in question vanish? If so, does the calendar come back when you re-input the servers you need into  iCal > Preferences > Accounts?
Can you provide a screen shot of your calendar sidebar.
While you answer those questions, some troubleshooting to try:
Try dragging one of your other calendars above this calendar that won't delete and then quit / re-open iCal and attempt to delete the calendar in question.
    Failing that:
    1. First make an iCal backup:  Click on each calendar on the left hand side of iCal one at a time highlighting it's name and then going to File Export > Export and saving the resulting calendar file to a logical location for safekeeping.
    2. Go to iCal > Quit iCal
    3. Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
    Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache if present)
    4. Launch iCal and test.
If the issue persists at this point:
Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
    Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache if present)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
---NOTE: Removing these files may remove any shared (CalDAV) calendars you may have access to. You will have to re-add those calendars to iCal > Preferences > Accounts.
    Hope that helps!

  • Need to find mailbox indentity from a shared calendar

I have shared calendar in Outlook but can not find the mailbox it is shared from. Any way to find the mailbox identity where it is shared from --may be through the exchange 2010 shell --but don't know how.

    Hi,
Check your permission on this calendar in Outlook then try this script, replace the “Reviewer” permission to your permission.
    $allmailbox = Get-Mailbox -Resultsize Unlimited
    Foreach ($Mailbox in $allmailbox)
    {Get-mailboxfolderpermission –identity ($Mailbox.alias+':\calendar’) | where {$_.AccessRights -eq “Reviewer”}}
    Best Regards.
