Norton antivirus will not run on Intel Mac

I installed Norton Antivirus that I received from school but when my computer starts it errors and says it will not run on an Intel Mac. How do I uninstall. I took the program and dragged it to trash but it still has a startup item.

The install disc should have an un-installer or an un-install option in the installer:

Will CS3 run on intel Mac?

Getting a new mac pro and wondered if CS3 will install on it okay? Might be a stupid question, but i figured if CS5 wont load on my powermac,maybe cs3 wont work on the newer setup. I ordered CS5 for it,but the print setup is not as nice as CS3 in my opinion.

How soon are you getting a new Mac (pre or post Lion)?
CS3 runs on Intel Macs now with the current kitties. Lion may be another matter.

I've been holding off on buying Quicken for my mac mini. Anybody know when Intuit will release a version of Quicken that runs on Intel Mac without needing Rosetta? Thanks,

This is what it says regarding Quicken 2007 for mac in response to the question "Tell me about running Quicken on the new Intel based macs":
"Quicken for Mac is not a universal binary program and will not run natively on an Intel based Mac. All Intel based Macs come equipped with Rosetta software that enables non-universal binary programs to run on Intel Macs. There are no known issues specific to using Quicken 2006 and later on an Intel Mac with Rosetta."

if you see something about your trial expiring, there's nothing easy you can do.

IMovie 5.0.2 from iLife '06 will not UPDATE on Intel Mac?

I brought over all my programs from my 12" G4 Powerbook to the new Mac Pro with Setup assistant. iMovie opened fine and seemed to work. A couple of weeks later, after doing regular software updates & working with it, etc., the Title function stopped working. Just does not show any options for titles under that spot in the menu.
I thought I would install it fresh and maybe that would take care of the problem, so I put in my iLife '06 DVD (pre Intel) and tried to install it. It was greyed out, so I thought it couldn't install it if there was a newer version on the computer, so I put it in the trash & deleted it. (Dumb, I know) & tried to reinstall but it is still greyed out. I figuered out this is probably because the older version of iLife '06 I have is not a Universal installer.
I copied the iMovie application from my Powerbook again, and now I have the PowerPC version of iMovie 5.0.2 on my Intel Mac, but when it tries to open it hangs. The instructions for opening programs with Rosetta doesn't work since there is no option to open with Rosetta in the Get Info for it.
How do I convert the 5.0.2 to iMovie 6 so I can update it to Universal?

Can't you re-run Setup Assistant to bring over iMovie HD 5 from your PowerBook again?
A "pre-Intel" (i.e; non-Universal) iLife '06 might not install on an Intel Mac (..but I don't know: I don't have an Intel Mac ..though I'd have guessed that you could install it and run it under Rosetta). It might be that your "receipts" are messed up (..in name-of-your-hard-disc>Library>Receipts>iMovie..pkg..) but don't go messing there unless you put the iMovie packages in a safe place {..Desktop..] and move them back into the Library again after you've finished fiddling about! You may need to remove later receipts in order to install an earlier version of the program.
But I don't have an Intel Mac, so can't advise further, sorry.

Running Mac 10.4.11, now I updated to Firefox 4 and it will no longer open, stating that it will not run on my mac. How do I get back to what I had?

My firefox was running fine until I was prompted to upgrade to Firefox 4. I did so and now when I try to open, I get a message window saying I cannot run firefox on the mac I'm now running (10.4.11). How to I get back to the version of firefox I was running?

Final CUt Studio 2 will not run on my Mac Pro & Macbook Pros simultaneously

I was under the impression that the licensing contract for FCPS2 allowed for the software to be installed and run on a desktop and a portable machine simultaneously. Am I wrong? I purchased Final Cut Studio 2 legally, and have installed it on my Mac Pro and my Macbook Pro, but if I try to open one of the FCS apps while one is running on the other computer, I get a protection error message and have to shut down the app. Does anyone know a workaround to this other than shutting off airport on one of the machines?

Yes, you are wrong.
The license allows for the installation of a copy on each machine but they can not run simultaneously. The intention is to allow users to work with a laptp while away from the main editing machine. If you need the capability running two copies at the same time, buy another copy.

PSE 8 will not run on my mac

Hi there,
I have installed PSE 6 orignially and it would not run. I tried the fixes suggested by adobe, but no success.
I use PSE for my PC with much success.
I have now tried to install the new version PSE 8 on my mac in hopes that the glitches have been fixed, but apparently not!
When I click to start the program, it shuts down at the open window as it says, "Initializing shared components".
Anyone have the same difficulty or any suggestions.

Can you please try deleting the older preferences and then launch PSE?
For this, double click on the Editor application, at the same time, press the following keys together: Option + Command + Shift

Trial Version Will Not Run on my Mac

I have been trying to use the trial of Lightroom 5 to see if I will convert from iPhoto/Aperture to Photoshop/Lightroom. I belong to a digital photography club and we are evaluating "endorsing" a single platform so we can provide education and training for our members. My trial version of Lightroom appears to download and install properly (Mac OS) but when I go to open it, I get an error message - "an error occurred while changing modules" and the screen remains at the shell of LR, showing the module list, the photo tray, and a big gray blob in the middle where everything else should display. I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice - once when I hit "enter" after the error message appeared, the app started to load a catalog - I let it run overnight, since my iPhoto folder contains over 20.000 photos and I shoot raw much of the time. The next morning, the pop up window stll said it was establishing a catalog and when I hit enter, that disappeared. I have uninstalled LR, since it is not functional. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Click on Finder and on the menu bar ( top side the of the screen) click on Go > Go to,folder
In the window type exactly ~/Library and click on Go
Open Application Support > Adobe and right click on Lightroom folder and select get info
Under sharing and permission Click on lock and unlock it
Click on + add your current user name and administrator if not added
Then give Read and Write permission for Admin, system, everyone and (your user name)
Click on gear icon and choose apply to enclosed item
Then Click on Lock
Launch Lightroom and check.
I get error message:An error occurred when attempting to change modules.

Uninstalling older apps that will not run on Intel processor

Does anyone know of some clean fast soloutions?

Best way would be to use their uninstallers. If not provided go to developers website to see if they are provided. If not then just put them in the trash and empty. Using utilities like CleanMyMac are not recommended. It is to easy to trash essential system files using them.

CS2 will certainly run on Intel Macs, though it runs in Rosetta emulation. This means that it is slower than CS3 - some times a lot slower - especially if you do not have a boat load of RAM. Also, you should stick with Tiger if you run CS2 on an Intel Mac.

You can't possibly be running 10.0 (that was a sort of public beta back in 2000 or 2001 and I can't think of any current program will run on that). What version do you really have? Click the apple at the upper left of your screen>about this mac, to see.
Also, what mac do you have, if this isn't a joke post?
