Norton detected lightroom files as high risk files and removed those
Hi.
My Norton 360 detected following files as high risk files and removed those
-mc_config_mp2v.dll
-mc_config_avc.dll
Now lightroom do not work properly
This happened both lightroom 4.1 rc1 and rc2.
Should I configure Norton to accept those files or are there alternative solution/correction.
Yes, known issue (Norton being overly sensitive). Unquarantine the files and you should be OK.

Last week I installed firefox 4.0 beta & the next time the computer was restarted a rundll error window appeared that said windows cannot locate file. This file showed up in the startup programs. When norton finds this which is every 1 or 2 days it removes it after a restart but the error & malware comes back. I went back to firefox 3.6 but still have this problem. Can you help?

Right clicking PDF files and printing those with Acrobat Reader X
We have a Windows XP computer with Adobe Acrobat 7 Professional and Acorbat Reader X.
Now when we open PDF files they open with Acrobat Reader X wich is fine.
But when we try selecting PDF files and right click Print them they print with Acrobat 7 Professional.
The problem is with Adobe Acrobat Professional 7 it doesn't print all the files we selected.
We select 50 files and only about 10 are printed and those are always random.
So is there anyway to enable the print option to print with Acrobat Reader X ?This is not a desirable situation. Adobe recommends against having Reader and Acrobat on the same machine, unless they're both version X, exactly because it can cause this kind of conflicts.

Pick Up file and remove roles/profiles for the specified ID's
I am wondering if the following would be possible.
I want to dump a csv file containing user ID's that are no longer required on a daily basis on a server. Would it be possible to write a program to go out and retrieve that file and where ever there is a match on ID's, remove all roles and profiles associated with that user and change the user group?
Sounds very simple from a theoretical standpoint but I'm not sure of it's truely feasibility. I'm not looking for any coding, just to know whether it could be done. Any help would be great.Hi Martin,

Open file shares are out there "in the wild" - which is what I wanted to warn against (in addition to the application authorizations within SAP to run this "interface"...
If it is running as a job, then a check on system field sy-batch = 'X' is usefull, but blunt only for the online execution.
Personally I have used an (inaccessible) timestamp execution scheme for such things in DB tables not accessibly to the application transactions before. Have not been able to hack it myself, but tried hard..
But if the file shares are open or the password is in clear text (in a script, .properties type file, ABAP text, network traffic, etc) then I would not class it as secure.
Such "identity management" stuff, particularly when you want to intergrate it with HR events, is best taken care of centrally in an "identity store" which you can secure and encryot etc centrally.
Local batch jobs accessing servers and registering / starting external programs and vise-versa to transfer files etc is decentral spagetti coding and security nightmare... ;-(

Is there a software that will detect corrupt files and notify me?
A back up does no good if a file becomes corrupted, then the back up starts saving over the good file with a corrupt one! How can I know if a file has become corrupted with out opening it? I have thousands of files. Is there some sort of scanner I can run daily to make sure my files will open when I need them. Thoughts? Thanks so much!
Well, what does "corrupt" mean?
Exactly. In other words, "file corruption" is a very broad, generic, and catch-all term. Sure, there are utilities which can continually or periodically scan disks and automatically alert the user (and sometimes even correct) the kinds of "corruption" that pertain to the disk data tree which records and organizes the writing of files to your disks.
But that's an entirely different thing from the kind of "file corruption" that is specific to a particular software and its native file formats. A FileMaker database, for example, can become "corrupt" due to things ranging from bad practice to momentary network outage. The on-disk "file" itself may be perfectly fine, but its content just doesn't entirely "make sense" anymore to the application. That's why many applications (FileMaker included) provide their own built-in file recovery tools.
You can open a native AI file (or most any application-specific file) on your computer with a text editor, make some text edits in it, and then save it. Doing so can wreck the file in terms its usability in AI; but all the while it will likely be a perfectly valid file in terms of "a file on disk."
So assuming you're talking about the kind of "file corruption" which AI users frequently complain about when a file suddently can't be opened, or throws up some alert, I doubt you will find a background utility specifically designed to test the AI-native integrity of AI-native files.

Add jar files and use those classes at the runtime
Hi All,
I need to add some jar files at the runtime depends on which the user selects where the jar file is located and i need to import those classes in other class for some functionalities . I could add jar files by using the URLClassLoader and Class.forName("myjar.myclassname") is also succeeded and i have no clue how to use those classes with in the jar file as i couldn't import those classes also in the source because the jar files are being added at the runtime(This leads to class not found exception at the compile time).
I had found a complicated way of using those classes after being added at the run time as below.

Venky.Thanks jschell. Yes, you are right. I had found that using reflection API is the only way to load classes at the run time. But according to our application using reflection makes the application little complex, so while start of the application or during other modifications, i am overwriting my jar file to the latest one using FileChannel class as below

I have just bought Apple TV 2 and have followed all of the steps as directed. I have set up home sharing so I can watch the files from my MAC on the TV but I cannot get the airplay to stream my Ipad2 to the TV.
I cannot even get my Apple TV to recognise that my Ipad is even on the same network as it as it gives me no options or recognition that it is trying to send the data.
What have I missed to make my Ipad2 stream the screen image onto my TV...?
Frustrated am i with it...!!I took a very quick look at the Owner's Manual for that Router.
Much of this you will already know....but:
1. Its a combination DSL modem/WiFi Router
2. It does not have ariel antennas. My experience, the WiFi tends to perform poorly compared to standalone WiFi units and the WiFi range is also limited thus slower the farther away you get (or Apple TV gets)
3. If you don't have a DSL filter infront of it I recommend using one, even if you don't use phones. DSL comes in the pair as a different frequency and its "probably" best to filter it out anyway.....even though it comes in on a dial tone and a dial tone often exists
4. Let me know who you ISP is and I will find out what other Routers they offer.
5. You can buy pretty much any DSL modem / Router online assuming it supports PPOe which most DSL ISPs use
6. If you have not in fact tried running an Ethernet Cable.....try it.....you can get a 100 footer locally for just a few bucks. It could solve a heart ache -
Convert files and remove originals from library?
Ive only been using iTunes for a bit now but I think Ive got it figured out but one thing I cant seem to work out is if there is a way to get iTunes to remove the original file after it has converted it to an iPod format.
So far I have to do this:
-Import Files
-Convert Files
-Then go through and delete original files form the library
Is there a way to set it to 'remove original after conversion' or only 'add to the library after conversion'? Any ideas of how I can get this to work or not would be greatly appreciated.Nope. No way to automatically remove the original file.
You'll have to manually do this.
You can create a Playlist of songs to convert, then go back to the Playlist and mass delete those originals (Shift-Delete). -
Grab new files and remove once processed from directory
Currently I have a JAVA agent that is Hardcoded to grab a certain file from a directory and Import it into a Lotus Domino Rich Text Field on a Document.
I would like for this agent to look for all files in the directory, grab them, then remove them. Can this be done. My code follows:

Hi. How I can find other files and remove them?
I have 42 GB of other storage, how can I delete it? I dont believe that osx is 40 GB large. Waiting for some advice, searched the web, but there is nothing really helpful.
"Other" is the category when a file is not one of the other categories (Audio, Movies, Photos, Apps or Backups). So these are files like documents (probably stored in the "Documents" folder for your user).
You are not really short on disk space... so is there a problem? -
Merge files and remove non-static elements
Where is the feature that allowed images to be merged while removing non-static elements. I saw a demonstration of removing people from a scene when multiple pictures were taken and the people had changed their positions. This was touted as a feature found only in PS extended a few years ago. I have never been able to locate it.

My i tunes will not work at all. I have tried all the steps given to remove my I tunes player but in my control panel, add and remove programs it does not give me an option to remove any of the apple/ I tunes. I tried to go to program files and remove all the files but access is denied. This all started about 1 1/2 years ago and with every i tunes update i got more and more errors or problems until it stopped working. At one time i could remove and reinstall i tunes to try to fix it but now i cannot do anything. I believe one of the last was i could not open i tune because it was being used or was on another network, not 100% sure its been so long and frustrating I quit trying 6 months ago. Hopefully someones got some help !!!
