  • After updating, Firefox informed me that Constant Guard, the security system which is provided by Comcast, is not compatible with this update and was disabled. WHY? Will Firefox now automatically provide security against online threats?

Firefox upgraded automatically; in doing so, it stated that Constant Guard Security Suite, which is provided by Comcast, my internet service, is not compatible, and had to be disabled. Please explain why; is Firefox providing anti-virus when I surf the internet? If not, this is NOT an 'upgrade' and I will never use Firefox. Please respond as soon as possible.

Hi, Thanks for that further bug description In Your Last Message That Describes The Problem I Am Having perfectly and is exactly the same for me.
unfortunately that fix for my camera Powershot G6 does not work or apply as the view pictures switch is different on G6 is not usable during download as once you plug in DC/USB cable it turns off, and makes no diff and problem still exists exactly as you just described.
    thanks anyways "Selz Boy"
it has been 17 days since apple promised to get back to me within 3-5 days hopefully with a solution, but I have still not heard from them.
They blew me off, i guess, probably i will have to wait for new Yosemite OS update, which they pre-warned me could take as much as 6 months.
I cannot believe apple released this new update with such major bug issues for camera downloads and that horrible "Photos" pgm which has all sorts of downgrades in features, usefulness and new bugs compared to iPhotos which I just finally got used to and was much better software.
I am starting to lose faith in Apple and I am getting that Microsoft "FEEL" like I used to have when I was a PC user, which was why I originally switched to Apple  computers in first place.
Oh well got my fingers crossed here.
Thankfully the memory card reader solution  is working well, but cost me $45.

  • Why can't I get Constant Guard to work properly with firefox. I have done as constant guard asked, but find no constant guard add-on in firefox. I want to use

However this is not the first time reported that there is trouble with this. The add on was broken in version 20 [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=694974]
Please see this previous question for more details: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/956200]
Can you please provide the source of the add on?

  • How to remove Constant Guard Protection Suite extension from Chrome?

I have tried to remove Constant Guard Protection Suite many times by putting into the trash can on the extensions page, but it always shows up after restarting Chrome.
Any tip would be greatly appreciated.

Constant Guard appears to be pretty invasive, so much so they had to make a cleaner torid your system of all it's remnants:
    From a previous post:
To completely remove all traces of the Constant Guard software from the computer, download and run the Constant Guard cleaner tool. Click here to download the tool, run the program, and follow the simple prompts to remove the software. You will have to reboot your computer after running the cleaner.
    Hope that helps.
    FWIW
WTP - almost all security products have a removal tool of some sort in order to clean up anything left over by the native uninstallers or if the usual uninstall procedure can not be used.

  • Upon running Norton Security Suite Diagnostic Report on my HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC on a Windows 7 Home Premium platform, it shows 2 (hidden) devices not working: Antilog32, and AODDriver4.1--Code 24.

On the General tab for device status it says: "This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed. (Code 24)" The only option available when I click
on properties of both devices is Start. When I click on Start for Antilog32, this message shows: "The system encountered the following error when it attempted to start the service: The system cannot find the file specified." For AODDriver4.1, the
message when you click Start on Driver tab is: "The system encountered the following error when it attempted to start the service: The system cannot find the path specified." I do not know how to proceed or
how to fix this, or where to find a solution. Please help!

    Hello pds48478480,
Do you mean you got the error code 24 in Norton Security Suite Diagnostic Report?
Please share us a screenshot for better analyzation.
Please take a look at the following thread about the AODDriver4.3.
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows8_1-performance/the-aoddriver43-service-failed-to-start-due-to-the/cb6b7f03-922b-4b82-972f-e92ef9919964
AODDriver 4.3 is used by AMD OverDrive which tune parameters to help system stability, optimize performance, and control cooling/acoustic characteristics.
With the issue description it seems the driver and the service is either stopped or not working correctly.
Refer to the link below and install the latest version of AMD OverDrive.

  • I need to remove 9.0.1 and install firefox 8.0.1 as comcast constant guard does not work on 9.0.1 How do I install 8.0.1?

I need to download earlier version of firefox...where do I fine 8.0.1? I currently have 9.0.1 installed (Mozilla firefox)

Is Comcast constant guard really necessary? Ask Comcast support to update its products or find another application doing the same instead of downgrading your browser to a version which has known exploits and missing features. But FF8 is available on Mozilla's FTP: ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/ (turn off autoupdate)

  • How do I open ports in Norton Security by Comcast?

How do I open ports in Norton Security by Comcast?

You should ask them or find a forum relating to Norton Security. There's a chance someone here may know but this forum is for Apple TV so you may not get the help you need.

  • Constant guard bot warning??

Got an email warning from Comcast today about a possible bot infection detected by constant guard. I have a mbpro, Apple TV and a couple iPads/iPhones. I always run scans using virus barrier and they are always clean.  I have a closed network that is password protected and Wpa2.  They only thing that changed was last night I opened up my guest network for my fantasy draft and had 12 new devices on it (all pc). Was wondering if any knew if all the new traffic would have caused this or if there may really be an issue with my mbpro. Just find it very coincidental that the warning email would come right after my draft. At help is appreciated. Thanks

It's a Comcast scam to get you to install "free" anti-virus software which you'll later be charged to "upgrade."

  • Will my Norton security suite and Norton toolbar work with the new Firefox?

A previous version of Firefox eliminated my Norton toolbar and I had to reload an older version of Firefox to get it back. I have been reluctant to upgrade to newer versions of Firefox because of this issue. Are you now compatible with Norton?

It depends on which version on Norton you have: I have '''Norton Security Suite '''(not to be confused with '''Norton 360'''). Norton Security Suite is provided free to Comcast customers. [http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-360/Which-is-better-Comcast-free-Security-Suite-or-360/td-p/320970 The updates to Norton Security Suite seem to be a bit behind Norton 360]. Currently Norton states their Norton 360 product can be updated using [https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/kb20100720113635EN_EndUserProfile_en_us?q=Firefox+22 Live Update ] so the toolbar will work in Firefox 22, but this does not seem to fix the toolbar issue with Norton Security Suite. This is a highly frustrating issue that causes me not to want to update Firefox.

  • Norton Security Warning

On Friday,Saturday and Sunday when opening my lap top I received an Error warning from Norton.  After 5 minutes they confirmed a fix for the problem and all was well. Tonight I had the same message but this time no fix.  I was advised to run the Norton Removal Tool  which found nothing and then to run a restore point (I chose November 19th) and checked the internet running normally.  Problem is I am unable to bring up Norton Security to  do a  Virus check and I am unable to download a warning to down load virus protection.  In addition I am unable to open my disc compartment.  How do I get Norton back

What did the warning say the problem was?
Why did it advise to run the Norton Removal Tool, what was it going to remove?
Why did it say to do a restore point, what was the problem.
What do you mean you are unable to bring up Norton Security? Has it disappeared from your computer. Have you tried looking for it by going to Start  and looking in the programs.
If you go to Start > Computer > it will bring up a box with the Drives on your computer. Double click on the Disc Drive and it should open. If that doesn't work there is a small pinhole on the disc compartment drawer. Have you tried pressing a pin in to it. That should open the drawer.

  • I keep getting a message from Norton Security that there is an intrusion that is being blocked. The intrusion is always accompanied by this message 'the attack was resulted from /device/harddiskvolume2/programfiles/mozillafoxfire/foxfire.exe. Why is this

I keep getting messages from Norton security that there has been an attack that has been blocked. It is accompanied by the message that 'the attack was resulted from device/harddiskvolume2/programfiles/mozillafoxfire/foxfire.exe Why is this happening so frequently? Also I was getting a message every time I closed my browser window that Firefox had crashed (even though it had not), and it wanted to send a message to Mozilla.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == Two days ago

I did some searching and found http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/repeated-quot-intrusion-attempt-quot-alerts-from-Norton-AV-2010/m-p/232823
Maybe that will help? Did you come across a website that said was scanning your computer for viruses? Those websites are really attack sites.

  • When using Firefox 3.6 my Norton Security Suite taged each site with a green circle if it deemed the site safe and secure - Firefox 4.0 does not show this protection o

When I was running Firefox 3.6 my Norton security Suite marked each site with a green circle to indicate to me that they felt that the site was safe to go to. They also indicated the sites that they protected with a yellow rectangle.
When I switched to Firefox 4.0 those markers no longer appear.
Really would like to have that sense of security back.
What do I need to do to get Norton back on the job with Firefox

Symantec have released updates for Norton 360 and Norton Internet Security to make them compatible with Firefox 4, for details see http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/Firefox-4-compatibility-hotfix-is-now-available/td-p/428894

  • Do i have to use norton security with firefox

Do i need to have norton security if i have firefox or do i need to install norton.
    becky

Absolutely not! Mozilla has no specific requirements as to which security program should be used with Firefox. If you are happy with what comes with Windows 7, keep using it. If you aren't, I think you should consider using Avira Personal Free - http://www.free-av.com/. That is my current choice and has been for that last 3 years.
I have access to a free version of Norton every "back to school" sales season, and my only use for those CD's is as a frisbee-like toy.

  • I use Norton Security, a pop window appears to enter my password so that all log-in names & password will be automatically entered for all applications, will Firefox 4 support this feature?

In Norton Security, there is a feature called "Web Protection Log In" where a pop window appears then I enter a password only once as soon as I log in. This feature will automatically fill in my log-in name and password to all applications I use just as ATT.net. Will I be able to have this feature in Firefox 4 ?

    You're welcome.

  • Is Version 6 compatible with Norton Security Suite from Comcast?

I have had previous compatibility problems using the Norton Security Suite from Comcast after installing a new version of Firefox. Are there any known issues with Version 6? I'd like to know before I install the new version. I have a PC running XT.

Only if the Comcast "deal" with Norton is directing you to the download or updating you to the newest Norton version. The Norton toolbar that gets installed into Firefox was made compatible with Firefox 6 on the day that Firefox 6 was released.
According to this post on the Comcast forum
