Norwegian charcters Unicode problem, InDesign CS5, Windows 7 64 bit

Hello
I have a problem with moving files from within an indesign plugin. I try to move an image file to the same folder as the inDesign document.
The problem is that the document folder contains norweigian characters. The folder name is: Boligdrøm_FW. If the folder is renamed to: Boligdrom_FW, it works without a problem.
The customer is using InD CS5, Windows 7, 64 bit. Im using Windows 7, 32 bit system, I can not reproduce the problem.
Has anyone encountered this problem?
Does anyone have a quick solutions?
Best regards
/ Pontus
Im using the folowing code to copy the file:
res = MoveFile((LPCWSTR)newFilepath.GrabWString(), (LPCWSTR)documentPath.GrabWString());
Im using this code to get the path to the document:
IDataBase* db = ::GetDataBase(doc);
if (db) {
     const IDFile    *dbSysFile = db->GetSysFile();
      if (dbSysFile) {
          PMString    documentPath("");
          SDKUtilities::GetPathName(*dbSysFile,documentPath);
          IDFile        f(documentPath);
          documentPath.Truncate(f.GetFileName().NumUTF16TextChars());

Not sure if this will help. Look at the PMString translation stuff. ( SetTranslated ).

  • Exporting PDF problem indesign CS5

    Hello,
    I'm trying to export a 72 pages document to pdf in indesign CS5 but during the exporting proces the pdf file disappeares. Who knows a solution to this problem. Thanks in advance for helping me.
    with creative greets,
    Robert Bastiaenen

    what I did was saving the indd file. After that I wanted to export the HR-pdf document so I started the export and after 15 minutes teh file disappeares when it wasn't finished with saving. When i tried to save it as the smallest file size possible there was no problem and the file was exported correctly. So I allready found out that the problem can be found in de export to HD_PDF.

  • Printing problems inDesign CS5 to an Epson 3880

    When printing one color CD cover to an Epson 3880 from inDesign CS5, it fills and exceeds a 8.5" by 11" page. This same procedure has worked excellently for quite some time and now doesn't. I reset Preferences and this didn't work. Any thoughts?

    I really appreciate your efforts at helping me, thank you. The document set-up is 8.5" by 11" (portrait). I have simply created a CD case label on the page using a box so I can print two-up, I have not re-scaled the page to my knowledge.
    The correct paper size is noted in the print driver, you have several choices under the Epson 3880 menu including borderless or retain size - I have tried both without success. Just to make sure, I have restarted my computer, opened inDesign and then created a fresh new document and it happens again. I also re-set the Preferences again (restarted te computer) just to make sure it took.
    I have printed a picture using Aperture and PhotoShop with great results, this problems seems to be isolated to inDesign.

  • AAMEE 2.1.80.0 Problems - Indesign CS5.5 Deployment

    Hi,
    im working in an IT Department and recently started to do real software deployment.
    So i have a access to a multiuser license of several adobe programs and suites and my first try was to pack up Indesign CS5.5.
    Well im using AAMEE 2.1.80 and created a mis packages successful but i cant get it to install.
    Im using following command on my test System:
    (First killing firefox then)
    "msiexec /qn /i path-to-cs5\Build\InDesignCS5_5.msi"
    The installation seems to run fine for quite a while, even the InDesign icon appears in start menu but then it starts to remove the whole package again.
    Windows Log just tells me that msiexec quit with a 1603 error but i cant finde any more detailed log for the installation.
    After several new packages (with updates, lincense etc) i also tried the manual instalation (no with a package created by aamee) and it works fine without any errors.
    Im really getting frustrated :-/
    Why does the normal installer work fine but the created package crashes all the time with 1603 error?
    btw i tried all the method on the adobe page (deleted temp, unreg and so on) nothing did help and there is also no detailed log why the installer crashes.
    Thanks!

    I am also having this issue on a x64 bit machine.
    I desperately need a fix.
    I am not getting any information as to why this could be happening.
    Thanks,
    Toby

  • Indesign CS5 Windows Start Menu

    I've made an Indesign Package (MSI) with the Enterprise Deployment tool.
    Installation goes well but there's one problem. It puts the shortcuts in the root of the All Programs in Start Menu. But I want it in a group like Indesign CS5 or something like that.
    Does anyone know where you can change this?
    I tried setup.xml but it has no effect with <property name="StartmenuSubfolders">......\startmenu\etc\etc\</property>>

    I doubt anyone who hangs out on the SDK forum would have this answer. It's an IT question -- not really a developer question.
    Like Peter says, your best bet would probably be on the CS forums, but there's not an awfully lot of IT proffesionals who hang out here.
    You can try looking on the OOBE blog to see if the answer you are looking for is there, and maybe post your question in the comments in a related post if not...

  • Illustrator CS5 Windows 7 64-bit Support

    I was unable to find a direct anwser to the following questions so figured it would be best to ask here:
    Is Illustrator CS5 supported on Windows 7 64-bit?
    If so does it run as a 64-bit application or is it running in 32-bit mode?

    Yes,
    AI CS5 is supported on win 7 64 bit. However, AI CS5 is a 32 bit application and hence runs in 32 bit mode.

  • 13" Macbook Pro (mid-2011) audio in/out problem in Bootcamp Windows 7 64-bit

    Hello,
    I have a 13" MacBook Pro (mid-2011) and when in Windows 7 (64-bit) there is no way to configure the single combination audio in/out port to be an input. It is by default assigned to be an audio output and it cannot be configured otherwise in the Sound manager in Control Panel. In OSX the port is configurable. The audio driver is Cirrus 4206A (AB28), dated 12/3/2010, version 6.6001.1.30.

    I forgot to add that I installed the Bootcamp drivers from the OSX disc after I installed Windows 7 as instructed

  • Hi, i am also facing the same problem in my windows 7 64 bit showing error R6034 and now lost itunes, cannot reinstall as well

    Pls help to resolve the error in installing itunes for Windows 7 64 bit showing error R6034....

    Hello sensuci,
    Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    For more information on this, take a look at:
    iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376
    Check for .dll files
    Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
    If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
    Reboot your computer.
    Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
    Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
    Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
    Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
    Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.
    Best of luck,

  • Flash CS5 Windows 7 64-bits problem

    Hello and thank you for reading my problem and trying to help. I actually have a Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bits. So I've downloaded, extracted and installed Flash correctly. When I try to open the software, on the loading screen, the loading slows down on fonts and when building workspace a window appears and flash just freezes. I've tried running as an administrator, compatibility mode, yet nothing seems to work. When i checked out the folder, I found error logs. They are all the same, here's the content of one:

    Hi,
    In case some people are still trying to find a solution to this problem.
    In order to solve this I had to do the following:
    Assuming you installed the latest Java Runtime, in my case Java 1.6, you will need to uninstall it from your machine, delete the  bin and lib folders from C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CS5\jre.
    The next step google for ‘Java Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 22′.Install it and then  copy the bin and lib folders back to C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CS5\jre. After that you can go and install Java runtime 1.6 back. It’s  works with no errors now. The issue seems to be that Java 1.6 does not play nicely with Flash CS5 and CS5.5. This link helped me find the solution.

  • Preview problems, Premiere CS5 Windows

    Hi!
    I´ve been using Premiere for 10 years, so I should know it pretty well, but this is my case:
    I start Premiere, choose "New project", tried different sequence settings, but the DVCPro HD 25 (PAL) is the most relevant. Inside Premiere, I import a clip, and drag it onto the timeline. So far, everything´s normal. The problems starts when I press the space button for preview. The only thing´s happening is the play symbol changes to a stop symbol in the composition window. No timecode´s running, no moving marker, and only a still image in the composition window. I can jog it frame by frame, and I can move the marker, and everything is fine, but also no playback. The play button in comp window does not make a change.
    My next problem is to get this version to work with my Black Magic Decklink Extreme. I have an output signal, but no picture.
    My system:
    Pentium i7
    12GB RAM
    Win 7
    Anybody?
    Erik
    Norway

    Thanks, but I´ve found a problem with my Decklink Extreme PCI card. The Premiere preview problem happens only when I´m using any Black Magic presets. Is Decklink Extreme PCI/windows 7/Adobe CS5 a bad combination? I´m not able to get any picture on my monitor from the decklink what so ever (composite/component), but there´s a signal there (black video). Worked fine in XP (with CS3), kind of worked in win7 with my old configuration (4GB RAM, single core AMD-processor), and absolutely no response now.

  • Transparency problem InDesign CS5

    Hi,
    when I put squares filled with colour and then some percent of transparency, the boxes show as filled after a little while.
    When I close my document and then re open it, or if I print it, the transparency is back.
    Has this happend to anyone else, and is there anyway to solve this?
    //S

    Check your preferences and under Interface there's an option for Live Screen Drawing, set this to delayed and see if it helps?
    It's probably just a screen effect due to the computer specs or something. Check the document in View>Overprint Preview

  • PHOTOSHOP/INDESIGN CS5 - WINDOWS IE8

    Are there any known conflicts between these, does anyone know?

    That's fine if you are an enthusiast and have the scope and time to delve around.   Time and other affairs obliges me to regard computers (et al) with a rather utilitarian eye in that they are part of the production procedure with all the romance of a ballpoint pen.   I think the dependence on the machines has probably gone a little too far over here and I am not sure that it is a good thing.   Fortunately matters have not gone quite as far in Amrica so there may be some hope your side of the pond!
    One thing I wish software manufacturers would do is to give their products more meaningful names.   I loaded Firefox on your advice and it seems fine insofar as I can get the Google Bar and the News on the same screen.   But had someone come up to me in the street and suggested loading Firefox, it would have meant nothing simply because the name conveys nothing of its function.
    The same applied with Acrobat which was as great a revolution as anything any software produced.   Yet it must have existed for a good couple of years before anyone in the industry awoke to what it actually was.   If you said 'Acrobat' to most people ten years ago, they thought you were talking about a circus.   A more meaningful name - 'Digital Document' or something similar -  would have drawn attention to what the software actually did.   We only came across it by accident - in spite of being Adobe's best customer in this neck of the woods - but when we did realise what it allowed us to do, our way of working changed quite dramatically.   I spite of our lethargy in getting hold of the thing, we were still amongst the first in the field!

  • Photoshop CS4 graphics problem solved in Windows 7 -64 bit

    I recently spent several days tracking down why i was getting odd graphical behaviour in CS4.
    Often, while using the polygon lasoo tool andother tools, the screen woud jump and the selection would stop in mid-stream.
    I also noticed other odd behaviors.
    the solution was to turn of the AERO effects by right clicking on the desktop, choosing personalize and choosing "classical theme".
    Prior to this problem, when I started the latest premiere pro, I couldn't access the tabs in the choose settings fields. After talking to tech support, we found that I had set my default font size for Windows 7 to 125% of normal, so i could see the high res screen better. Resetting it to 100% by right clicking the desktop choosing settings, advanced, cleared up the problem.
    I hope this helps other users avoid similar headaches.

    Thanks for posting the information.

  • Can't set "printer manages colors" - CS5,Windows 7 64 bits

    When printing, if I select "Printer manages colors", and then go to the print settings ==> when exiting the print settings, Photoshop CS5 waits 1 or 2 seconds, and reverts to "Photoshop manages colors".
    This happens with all the printers connected to this 64 bits Windows7 machine : Epson Stylus Pro 3880, HP Photosmart 9180, and a small HP all-in-one.
    Windows, Photoshop, and the drivers are all up to date and fully patched.
    I am at my wits end to understand why this is happening.

    I am sorry I can not help, but I will wish you a speedy fix.  You could waste hundreds of dollars worth of ink by making duff prints with a 3880.   The Luminous Landscape suggests US$500 for a full set of cartridges!
    [EDIT]  I feel kind of bad about not saying anything construcive, so I'll add that one of the best printer info sites I know of is Vincent Oliver's www.photo-i.co.uk/
    It's a pitty Noel doesn't post anymore - he was the man for this sort of thing.
