In fact, according to that document, none of the carriers in Norway offer official unlocking.

So I have lived in Daegu, South Korea for 9 months now. And our iphones work perfectly.
Thankfully we didn't sell our phones in NZ, I had a look online and NZ doesn't lock IPhones to their networks like other countries.
We went to SKT (in Daegu / National University of Ed) and bought new simcards for $10 each.
Then signed up for contract / plans.
We pay roughly $50 a month for unlimited data, 200 minutes, 600 text messages.
It costs $9 to roam overseas a day.
We've managed to travel to Japan and Hongkong using our South Korean sims.
It' been pretty succesful for us.
All I can say is, do heaps of research peeps, and don't stress :-)

The warranty is not and has never been International. Warranty and support are only valid in the country of origin. The only exception is for devices sold in the EU where the EU is treated as one country for warranty and support purposes.

No. Return it and get your money back if still within the 30 day return window. All US iPhones are carrier locked and cannot be officially unlocked.

A no-contract sales price does not mean unlocked.
Apple is now selling an officially unlocked iPhone in the U.S. which has nothing whatsoever to do with AT&T unlocking iPhones. It is up to the carrier and the carrier only to officially unlock an iPhone that was sold as carrier locked with the carrier - in this case sold as carrier locked with AT&T. This may change one day, but at the present time AT&T does not unlock an iPhone for any reason or under any circumstances.

If you have a problem with it, there is nothing that can be done until you return to the US. The warranty on an iPhone is only valid in the country in which it was sold. Apple will not provide service, replacement or support in another country.

No.
All U.S iphones are carrier locked to AT&T and CANNOT be legitimately unlocked. If you are using it on any other carrier but AT&T ( in the US) then you have a hacked iphone and the warranty is void.

In order to get an iPhone from AT&T you have to sign a contract for AT&T cell service which typically lasts 2 years. You will not be able to have your iPhone unlocked by AT&T until you have completed the service agreement. If you need an unlocked iPhone for use in India now then your best option may be to purchase an iPhone from the Apple store at full price which will result in you getting an unlocked iPhone.

Second, as far as I am aware no unlocked iPhones are sold in the US, which means you should bring one from Spain if they sell them there. But I guess someone from the US will be able to clarify this.

No. Any locked phones purchased in the US cannot be unlocked.
You can just buy an unlocked phone direct from Apple in the US, but only if you are physically in the US.
Also, note that your warranty will only be valid in the US.
