This is the error I am getting occasionally. I am using Toplink with custom sequence table and pre-allocation size is 1000.

i tried everything in this article, but still have the same problem when using Rapidweaver software. NOT with other software. I am converting my iWeb site to Rapidweaver, whenever there is a calmer period in my office. I have 16 Gb RAM on my NEW iMac and have Parallels desktop, mail, safari, iWeb and Rapidweaver running simultanious.
I never have the problem if i don't use Rapidweaver, but after i have added several pages to Rapidweaver, the problem begins. my iMac won't start up. the only thing that works is re-installing Macos OS X 10.8. i tried even whiping the completeharddrive, and reinstalling with a complete new user, the same problem.
I had it on my previous iMac also, and bought a new one because i thought the problem was in the iMac first. i hadn't noticed it only happens with using rapidweaver.
i sent my complete rapidweaver project to the programmers from rapidweaver at Realmacsoftware, but they couldnt reproduce my problem, there macs started up without any problem.
i deleted all the rapidweaver addons and extra stacks, and started a complete new project.
saterday i had the problem again, after adding about 5 new pages to my rapidweaver site.
i think i have reinstalled Macos OS X 10.8.2 20 or 30 times by now
does anyone have a sollution?

clientValidater s when used in tables

The thread UIX <clientValidater> elements when used in <tables> - problem in the JDeveloper forum gave me a solution to using client validaters on repeating fields in a <table>. I've got this to work fine but have noticed in the log (I've set debug=true in uix-config.xml) that when the page is rendered I get the message 'The id nnn is used more than once' for each of the fields in a row. I can see why it's doing this and am just curious as to whether it could cause me any problems. I don't (currently) make any use of the id other than for this situation.

It shouldn't cause any major problems. It would affect
PPR if you tried to use PPR to individually replace
single table cells.
If you use <messageTextInput>, we'll automatically
generate unique IDs per row in the table, and this'll
get client validaters to work just fine. Unfortunately,
<bc4j:messageTextInput> doesn't support ID generation
for some arcane but nasty-to-untangle reasons.

The admin guide only mentions Netegrity, but that would be the case when we use Siteminder for SSO.

If possible I would arrange for a good service center to go over it. Hopefully they have a variety of parts in stock. They can test and verify all is working. The previous attempts are based on guesses by the person at the other end of the phone without diagnostic tests to assess the culprit. It is extremely unlikely for a webcam to fail & for it & a Mic to fail together should be an indicator to a good technician it is something else. EG Motherboard

Using the following erp system with oracle

Does anyone have experience in using the Infor ERP LN with oracle. Are they fully compatible...the reason why I am asking is to make a good arguement why our company needs to oracle when we migrate over to our new ERP system which is infor ERP LN. currently the vendors are trying to have us change to sql sever.

The vendor itself should be able to tell you whether they are certified against Oracle. I would definitely official confirmation from the vendor themselves, else you might find yourself in a lot of trouble if it turns out that it isn't certified and you have major problems.
Saying 'I asked a guy on a forum' wouldn't do anything to help keep your job in that case...

i dont think so any drawbacks using Jdeveloper with any database.....its a open product ... You can use it with Sybase, MySQL, Oracle etc etc..

Using Discoverer 10.1.2 with Oracle E-Business Suite 11i

We have installed 11.5.10.2 on Linux, and developer need to use Discoverer 10.1.2 with Oracle EBS 11i.
I have downloade the latest veriosn for Discoverer and othe two patches Patchset 4960210 and Patch 5985072 .
After these steps do i need to Install the Oracle Application Server 10g to use Discoverer 10.1.2 with Oracle EBS 11i.
Can some one pls guide me on this...

But i have not uderstood the where to install the Oracle Application Server 10g on Oracle EBS 11i or it Can be install on Stand alone machin for safer side. You can install it on a standalone server OR in a separate Oracle Business Intelligence Server 10g Release 2 (10.1.2) ORACLE_HOME on an existing application tier server node.
Also can it be install on the Windows machin as our EBS 11i installed on Linux Platform.Can be installed on any OS (as long as it is supported).

Wrong sequencing with Oracle db using sequence table?

Hi,
we have a strange problem resulting in primary key violations in a table which is using a sequence (no native sequencing, but a sequence table).
We use Oracle 9.2.0.x
We have a table which is mapped to a Java type which has two derived types, i. e. in the table, two different "object types" are contained (the table contains all attributes of both classes). This table uses a sequence key as primary key.
This works pretty fine when the table is left empty in the beginning.
However, if we fill 15 records in this table by a SQL script - not by toplink! - (for migration purposes), and then set the initial sequence value in the sequence table to 500 (which should be greater than 15 ;-) by the same SQL script, then restart the application server (Bea Weblogic), and then try to add new records via Toplink, we get a primary key violation.
It sounds odd but it seems as if Toplink would store the initial sequence value somewhere else and does not care about the value we entered "manually" in the sequence table.
Can anybody give us a hint what the reason could be for this problem? Is it the inheritance of the Java Types from one abstract type? Does sequence number caching play a role (we used a preallocation size of 500 and of 1 - with the same negative effect).

Each time the application using TopLink starts it will lazily acquire the next pre-allocation batch of values from the database.
You will see SQL entries like:
UPDATE SEQUENCE SET SEQ_COUNT = SEQ_COUNT + 50 WHERE SEQ_NAME = 'EMP_SEQ'
SELECT SEQ_COUNT FROM SEQUENCE WHERE SEQ_NAME = 'EMP_SEQ'
TopLink will increment the table's value and then use the values from 1 greater then initial value up to and including the value it just incremented the row to.
In your example you should see, after re-starting the server, the next value to be 501.
What exact version of TopLink are you using?
When you enable SQL logging what statement do you see executed, related to the sequence table prior to the invalid INSERT?

According to the code which you have written, there is no value in table IT_DSO_TABLE when you are trying to read the values.And after the read statement you have given a condition for sy-subrc. Hence the select statement is actually not even getting executed. *Also you have not assigned the final value back to the ResultPackage.*_
So Kindly correct your code as follows:

Label of attribute when used as View Criteria item with Bind Variable

I've a VO attribute used in a named search with this requirement:
The attribute provides has an optional View Criteria item that has a bind variable operand. The bind variable is in the WHERE clause. The attribute has an LOV. The choice list for the specified View Criteria item should display the label "Effective Release". However, in all other contexts, including the search results table and the dropdowns the user can optionally add in an advanced search, the label displayed for the attribute must say "Release".
In other words, the default label for the attribute should be "Release" in all but one context - which is that when the dropdown list for the viewCriteria item using the bind variable is displayed, the label should say "Effective Release".
Note that if the user moves to Advanced Search and selects adds the attribute as a search criteria, this latter usage should be labeled as "Release". (in this case, in other words, the dropdown that displays by default and has the bind variable operand is labelled "Effective Release", the one the user added in advance search is labelled "Release")

I have found that when using validation type Key Exists and the VO is in the local application, then the bind variable is available in the Create Validation wizard. When I try and create a validator on a VO that is core to all my applications, then I put that VO into an ADF library, the bind variable parameter is not available for mapping to my entity object attribute, even though I can select the VO to create a view accessor from the ADF library.
Possible bug?

Bug when using Sequencer.setTickPosition() ?

I created a Track and added a few ControlChange events in ticks 0,96,192,288,384.
This corresponds to beat indicators in a resolution of 96 (PPQ).
I set the sequencer for a loop, starting at tick 0, and ending at tick 384.
While the sequencer is running, I sometimes set back the tick position using Sequencer.setTickPosition(...) to one of the beat points.
I also added a ControllerEventListener using Sequencer.addControllerEventListener(...) which listens on the mentioned ControlChange events.
What I see in debug logs printed by my listener, is that when I set the tick Position to say, 96, both the 0 and 96 events are being dispatched. I expected only the 96 one to fire. The 0 one is extra...
In fact, setting the tick position to any value from 1-96 (inclusive), causes the event created with tick 0 to fire.
If this is a feature and not a BUG, it is implied that a ControlChange has some kind of "sustain" until the next ControlChange, than at least I expect that setting the tick position to 0-95 (inclusive) would fire the 0 event, but at tick 96 there is already a different event.
BTW:
I am differentiating between the event but having them created with corresponding data1 argument set to (0,1,2,3,4).
Can anyone explain this weird behavior?

Optimized sql not properly generated when using SAP tables

We are using BODS 4.1 sp2.
We have a simple dataflow where we pull data from SAP r3 using direct download and push it in our database.
Basically its like this:
SAP Table-->Query Transform-->Oracle Database
Inside query transform,we have applied some conditions in where clause,which are combinations of 'or' and 'and' operator.
However when we are generating optimized SQL for the same,we observe that the conditions in where clause are not being included in the optimized query.
But if we replace all conditions by only 'or' or by only 'and' condition,the optimized sql query with condition is generated.
Somehow the optimized sql with conditions is not generated if where clause has mixer of 'and' and 'or' conditions.
The issue is only observerd for SAP Tables
However the same dataflow in bods 4.0,generates an optimized sql containing the mixed conditions of 'and' and 'or' in where clause.
Please help me on this.

Let me explain this in detail to you:
We have a simple dataflow where we push data from the sap table directly into our oracle database.
The dataflow has a query transform where we have some conditions to filter the data.
The method used to pull data from R3 is direct download.
System Used:
BODS 4.2 SP1
SAP R3 620 release(4.7)
The where clause has mixed 'and' and 'or' operators.The problem is that this where clause is not getting pushed in the Optimized sql.
Eg: Table1.feild1=some value and Table1.feild2=some value or Table1.feild3=some value.
If this is the condition in where clause,the where clause does not appear in optimized sql.
Also the condition in where clause is from same table.
However if all the condition in where clause are either all 'and' or either all 'or',the condition gets pushed and appears in optimized sql.
But if their is mixed 'and' and 'or' it fails.
The same was not the case when we used BODS 4.0 with R3 620(4.7).
We investigated further and used R3 730 with BODS 4.2.With R3 720,we the where condition was getting pushed into optimized sql for mixed 'and' 'or' predicated.
SAP support too confirmed the same.They were able to reproduce the issue.
We will use ABAP dataflow and see if if resolves the issue.

Ever used the Table API (TAPI) with object type in the DB?

Hi all,
We are trying to generate the table API of a table that has a column defined by an object type. It works without problems if that column always has a value (is instantiated in object term). The problem is when we update a row where the column is null (all attributes of the object are null thus the object is not instantiated).
The "before update row" trigger of the Table API fails with error "ora-30625-method dispath on NULL SELF argument is disallowed".
Any of you guys made it work? If so, how?
