Not a common issue on update/restore

Hi there.
First off, this is a nice forum. I read a lot here when I Was a guest ;D
Well, after 2 days looking over the internet I just give up.
This is my last choice I think.
Here is the problem.
My desktop Manager allways show Device Connected (Pin): None. It's not a problem because I can just click and set the usb device pin.
Well, I did a full wipe (error 507) and on the middle of update after "loading module "net_rim_cldc.cod my device just Shutdown and I can hear a "pop" from the device. Well, DM just ask me to try again. So, I just wait the device reboot on error 507 and sometimes de net_rim_cldc.cod pass fine, but on the midle like language or something "pop" my device shutdown again.
I tried on 2 pcs and the same problem.
I tried also using loader.exe /nojvm, it's detect fine my usb device, do a erase/load rom perfectly. but again when it's copyng the files "pop" the device suddenly shutdown and autorebook
So, I ask... Could this be a batery problem? or something else?
My device is a nextel brasil 8350i. My DM is the lastest version, the software installed is the 8350iAMEA_PBr4.6.1_rel459_PL3.1.0.31_A4.6.1.313_Nextel_Communications_Inc also I tried the 8350iAMEA_PBr4.6.1_rel302_PL3.0.0.70_A4.6.1.194

Are you performing this install using Desktop Manager?
Try this method:
First locate your carrier and the OS file you wish to use.

2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."

AND, make certain your device is connected to a USB cable which is connected to a REAR USB port on the PC -- not a front USB port or a USB hub.

    When you come back, try this.
    Click on control panel/admin tools/computer management/disk management/right click on the iPod to re-assign the drive letter.
    Choose something lower down the alphabet, say 'M' or something similar.
    The iPod can be confused by any other storage devices assigned a similar drive letter even though they may not connected at the same time.
    If the device manager is empty, see this: iPod not appearing in Windows device manager.
    It's a long shot but worth a try.

    Additional things to try.
    Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

    Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • IPod not recognized in iTunes after update/restore

    I was prompted by a message (don't remember the exact verbage) in iTunes to restore my iPod. It appeared to download and install an iPod update. Then when iTunes restarted, the iPod was no longer recognized by iTunes. The iPod still charges and iTunes still starts when it is plugged in but no devices are listed.
    A connectivity test shows: iPod service is running, iTunes Helper is running, Apple Mobile Device is running. USB ports verified, FireWire (IEEE 1394) ports verified, iPod found. All tests passed.
    The iPod is still visible in Windows but when I attempt to navigate into H:\iPod_Control\iTunes or H:\iPod_Control\Music I get the message: "(directory) is not accessible. The file or directory is corrupt and unreadable."
    I have done the first 4 of the 5 R's; obviously not able to restore presently as the iPod is not recognized. I tried manually setting to disk mode- no luck. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes as well.
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Hi. I had the exact same problem that you identified. I came across a tip somewhere to delete the contents of the pictures folder. When that didn't work for me I figured I'd go for broke and format the darn thing. From windows explorer I right clicked on the ipod volume (for me it was J: drive) and format. After I unplugged and replugged the usb cord, iTunes recognized the ipod again.

  • IPhone 4 issues with updating, restoring and unresponsiveness.

    I plugged my iPhone 4 into itunes to update. The update 6 successfully downloaded, but when I tried to update my phone it did not work, stating that there was an error, and the phone must be restored.
    After unplugging the phone and reconnecting it, the following message appeared: "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes."
    Now the screen on my iPhone says to connect to iTunes, which I have, and the PC (latest windows update), is remaining unresponsive to the phone and repeatedly displays the message mentioned above.
    I also see when choosing a product below, that this phone is apparently not even registered with my iTunes account, which I thoroughly remember doing nearly 3 months ago.
    This sounds typical, but please help as soon as possible- I am going on holidays tomorrow morning (it is currently 6:30pm), and I really need thisphone for photos and communication.

  • Firefox 22 keeps crashing after I updated it. Scripts keep freezing. I also updated shockwave, etc. (addons). Did not have this issue before updating.

    After the latest FF update every page seems to freeze up and I get script error pop ups that cause the FF browser to hang forever. Only happened after updating FF and shockwave, I have had to disable shockwave flash which seems to fix the problem, but I can't watch videos. I had to add the NoScript addon just to see browser pages... not very good as it kills pretty much everything. Also I noticed that the newest version of java deployment kit has been rendered UNSAFE by FF. Why, and what to do about that issue also? Thanks.

    The combination of a recent Windows update and the Flash player plugin's protected mode caused pages to hang for me with the eventual script error.

  • Black Screen Mac OSX Yosemite (though not the common issue)

    Hi all I've read a lot of posts already about the black screen that seems to be plaguing people lately, but my issue seems to be slightly different. When I open Spotify it loads for a while (about 2-3 minutes): http://i.imgur.com/4qQYdJI.png Then, for no more than a minute, I get the fabled black screen. I've tried reinstalling Spotify multiple times with no luck. I have noticed however that there is no Spotify cache and no folder in Application Support, and reinstalling does not bring these back.  Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm running OSX 10.10.4 if that at all helps. Thanks in advance!

    Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
    Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
    Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
    Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
    Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)

  • Why is my iphone 4 suddenly not working after being forced to "restore to iTunes" and automatic update to iOs7. Phone has been restored, reset and recovered. Will not activate to server. I need a new phone Apple!!

    I heard about all the problems with the new iOs 7 update but also heard Apple would force me to do it. I tried to update but didn't have enough space. Had to delete ALOT of my apps and still not enough space. Phone was working perfectly fine and message pops up that "I will not have any service until I restore to iTunes. I plug into laptop to restore and it forces me to update to iOs7. Takes 3 hours. It updates but phone doesn't restore. Have tried all the troubleshooting tips:reset to factory settings, recover etc. Got a new SIM card because it said I don't have one but I do. Apple support wouldn't help me because I was out of warranty, and said I would have to pay. Went to the Apple store and they couldn't fix it and said "it's a hardware issue" that will cost me $170.00+.  I FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT THE NEW iO7 FRIED MY PHONE'S HARDWARE. The phone is on the HELLO stage and keeps searching but will not activate to server- it's temporarily unavailable. Have tried multiple times.I have a 3 year contract with Rogers and the phone is less than 2 years old. Apple needs to take responsibility for crashing my phone. I NEED A FREE NEW PHONE!!!

    Restore it to factory settings, then set it up from your back up. Did this last year when I got my new iPod, and it worked. I have no idea why syncing OTA can sometimes glitch, but hopefully this will help.

    The easiest way to fix the hosts file is to restore it from a backup that predates the modification, or to copy the unmodified file from another Mac. If you can't do that, then do as below.
    Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    open -e /etc/hosts
    Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    Paste into a Terminal window by pressing command-V. A TextEdit window should open. At the top of the window, you should see this:
    # Host Database
    # localhost is used to configure the loopback interface
    # when the system is booting.  Do not change this entry.
    127.0.0.1                              localhost
    255.255.255.255          broadcasthost
    ::1                                        localhost
    Below that, you may see some other lines. The first 9 lines should be exactly as above, apart from differences in the blank space within lines. Otherwise you can't use this procedure—STOP and ask for guidance.
    If the contents of the TextEdit window are as described, close it, then enter the following command in the Terminal window in the same way as before (by copy and paste):
    sudo sed -i~ '10,$d' /etc/hosts
    You may be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. Type carefully and then press return. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. Confirm. Quit Terminal.
    If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator. Log in as one and start over.
    That will fix the hosts file. There is now a copy of the old hosts file with the name "hosts~" in the same folder as "hosts". You can delete the copy if you wish. Don't delete the file named "hosts".

    Hey guys....
    I just recently encountered a strange issue which no makes sense.
    I have a 16GB Black iPhone 3GS **LOCKED** to Rogers, never been unlocked, was given to me by Apple as a replacement.
    It was on 4.3.3 and was getting a little slow so I decided to do an update + restore to 4.3.5.
    After the restore and update, iTunes gave me the "the SIM card inserted into this phone does not appear to be supported" error... so I can't get past the emergency call screen.
    I tried restoring in DFU and with diff comps PLUS diff Rogers SIM cards and no dice.
    Also tried restoring with/without SIM card in during restore.
    Any ideas on how this has happened and how I can fix it?
    It's no longer under warranty so I know I can't go to the Genius Bar, even though technically it's their faulty phone...

    I would still take it to the Genius Bar and see what they say.  Worst case scenario, since it's out of warranty, they'll offer you an out of warranty exchange, which will roughly be 200 Canadian dollars.

    So, here is an update to my original question, in case anyone else has this issue. I spoke with a senior adviser at apple, who had me use the "devmgmt.msc" command in the search line of Windows 7; after expanding the USB controllers menu, she had me uninstall/delete the "apple mobile device driver" and then open "control panel" and "uninstall programs." Once the menu of programs was open, she had me highlight the program "apple mobile device controller", then repair it, and restart the computer. This fixed the issue and the iPod synced.
    However, just one day ago, when I plugged in both the iPod, then the iPad (not at the same time), I get the message that "this library has already been synced to another iPod/iPad or other IOS device." It then asked if I wanted to set up as a new device or from restore of previous. That is wher I am right now; I am trying to get the same apple adviser again to discuss the case number. More to follow.

    I'm completely up to date, I've restarted my pc and my phone several times. Is this intentional? Is apple trying to hide the device so it forces you to go through itunes and icloud?
    Photostream has NEVER worked for me anyway and even if it did I want to see my device on my computer. My 16gb 4s has been 'backing up' for over an hour now. I can no longer access my phone photo folders through my computer, my phone does not even appear as a device anymore. It charges and itunes starts right up though. Prior to this last update it worked fine.
    I don't want to be forced into using icloud or itunes to access my data. Is this yet another glitch or is it intentional?
    I texted my IT friend hoping for a quick fix and he texts back  "As you know I support 30 iphones, this week has been a nightmare, I feel your pain and don't have an answer."
    I've seen a lot of similar posts when googling this issue but no one from apple support has addressed this, the only 'solutions' are 'reinstall icloud' or something like that. F*** icloud, which I deleted anyway. I want to access my phone through my computer as I was doing before.
    All my drivers are up to date on my pc.

    @ Peter: So this is apple supports way of saying 'we have no clue' or 'yes infact we are attempting to force you to use itunes as the sole way of transferring your data'?
    Since you apparently can't figure out the issue by reading my first post I will lay it out very simply:
    Ever since this last iTunes update (just this week) my Win 7 64 bit computer will not 'see' my 4s iPhone, but iTunes will. Prior to this I could go to 'My Computer' and see my phone, I could then open and copy any photos or videos out of it to my computer in 1/1000th of the time it took to sync with iTunes.
    Now, suddenly I can't. Restarting my phone and my computer several times has not resolved this issue.
    1) I'd like a solution if there is one
    2) If there isn't one I'd like to know if this is something apple has done intentionally
    3) If you're reading this and do not have a solution or an answer to this issue, please don't call me liar or complain that I'm ranting.
