  • How can I enter data in an input schedule on a member in the EPM Add-On that is not a base member?

    Hello, all,
    how can I enter data in an input schedule on a member in the EPM Add-On that is not a base member?
    E.g. I want to implement a top-down-planning scenario and I have the following hierarchy:
    Europe
         Germany
         France
         UK
         Spain
         Italy
    How can I enter a value on Europe in an input schedule in order to allocate this value afterwards?
    Thanks in advance and best regards
    Gerd

    Gerd,
    It should be something like below -
    EuropeInput
    Europe
         Germany
         France
         UK
         Spain
         Italy
    EuropeInput shall be kept out of hierarchy and should be a base level member. Users will enter the numbers in this member. In your script logic, you will make use of this member to allocate the data in Bas(Europe) i.e. Germany, France, etc.
    Effectively, after allocation the same data will be rolled up to Europe.
    Many top-down planning would use such work-around as BPC doesn't allow writing to parent node.

    Ashish

  • Parent is not a valid member error in BPC

    hi all,
    i use SSIS package that upload members to BPC dimension and it worked successfully.
    But when i try to process dimension the following error appeared
    "  - Parent is not a valid member. -  Member ID : [Insurance],  Property Name : [PARENTH1],  Property Value : [AccruedExpenses]"
    Although that  i have this parent [AccruedExpenses] member in mbrAccount.
    your help is so appreciated
    Thanks in advance

    Heba,
    We ran into the same error (parent not valid, even though the parent was a memeber) when automating our dimension processing......
    Try looking at the data in your source table (for example, using Query Analyzer).  Do you have records with "NULL" as the value for one or more columns?  Not blank values - but values that in the query output actually have the letters NULL.  If so, you may have the same issue we had.....
    We found that fields on the source table that we were not specifically updating via the SSIS package (because we did not have any data from our source system) were getting filled with "NULL" - an example of such a field for us as NEWID.  The IDs coming from the source system will never change, so we did not have a NEWID value in the file we were mapping to our source table and so at first we just ignored NEWID field in the mapping in the SSIS package.  After getting the "parent is not valid..." errors, we updated the SSIS package to map something to all fields in the source table - if we didn't have a value from our source file for a particular field, then we mapped '' (two single quotes) to the field.  After making the change to the SSIS, we no longer had NULL values on the table and we also no longer go the parent is not valid errors!
    Also as a head's up to something else we learned the hard way.....  Make sure you are populating the CALC, DIMCALC, and ISBASEMEM fields on all your members with the appropriate value ("Y" or "N").
    Good luck!
    Regards,
    Shannon

  • BIEE 10.1.3.3.2 do not show dimension member name

    after importing essbase outline, the decentdant name only show in the format (Gen n, Dimension_name), but not the real member name.
    e.g. when using the Demo.Basic database in the Essbase installation, the next generation of Market dimension show in BIEE as Gen2,Market, but the member name is really East or West in the outline.

  • Can anyone explain error: can not access a member .. with modifiers ""

    Can anyone explain why this would occur:
    javax.faces.FacesException: Can't instantiate class: 'com.package.MyBean'.. class com.package.MyBean : java.lang.IllegalAccessException: Class java.beans.Beans can not access a member of class com.package.MyBean with modifiers ""

    also if the class is not defined as public
    myClass()
    public myClass()
    i got this when building my custom class loader and it took me sometime to figure this out since my editor generates my class templates I didn't even think to check something as basic as not having a public class - hopefully this saves someone else some trouble

    I'm not a "Cloud" member. I just upgraded to Lightroom 6 from Lightroom 5. All was working well yesterday. Today Lightroom will not open (Windows 7). I see the logo photo over my Lightroom platform but nothing loads and I see "Lightroom not responding." I checked the catalogs and see that lrcat-Journal and lrcat-Lock have been created every time I try to open. I have a backup from the first day I upgraded, but Lightroom doesn't want to access it. Should I reinstall?

    Well, is the catalogue (and the folder it is in) writable? Have you actually checked the permissions? Lightroom won't be spitting out the error just to tick you off, and - computer wizard or not - this sounds very much like something you'll have to fix at the OS level: it's probably nothing to do with Lightroom or those funny lads at Adobe.
    Some light reading for you, courtesy of the site search: https://forums.adobe.com/search.jspa?q=%22+not+writable+and+cannot+be+opened%22&place=%2Fp laces%2F1383621&depth=ALL
    It would help to know your OS.

    Hi - This is still unanswered. Will the datatype of the source column mapped to the member and the fact table create the problem? As we are in the middle of evaluating different OLAP products, any inputs on the issue, will be really helpful...

    Any hidden performance or memory issue here?
    Let us consider an object:
    public class SomeObject
         private String fieldA;
         private String fieldB;
         private String fieldC;
         private String fieldD;
         private String fieldE;
         //... say 50 declared fields....
         public SomeObject()
         public SomeObject(String fieldA, String fieldB)
              this.fieldA = fieldA;
              this.fieldB = fieldB;
    // getters and setters..
    }When I create an object using the constructor with only two fields initialized such as the following code above, and look at what is happening to other fields as shown in the code below, I see that they are also AVAILABLE, now this is important, but they are set to null. What I wanted to know was, if I created an object with many fields, as many as 50 (getDeclaredFields = 50), and used a constructor with only two input fields to initialize an object, I still have 48 other fields available but set as NULL's. When I create more than 100,000 of these objects in a list and send to a .jsp page, I am unable to understand if this has more memory load than when you use a list of another object which has actually has only two declared fields in it. Each of this new object will have only two declared fields, when I say getDeclaredFields() it would return 2.
    This is where I am unable to figure out if this has anything to do with performance or memory, rather, what is the difference between the many possible ways you can initialize an object when there are too many fields which you probably won't use? Either create a new constructor with only two input arguments OR a generic constructor with all fields as input arguments but all those fields which you won't use assigned NULL's OR create another new object with only two declared fields
    SomeObject someObj = new SomeObject("abcd","cdef");
              Field[] fields = someObj.getClass().getDeclaredFields();
              System.out.println("Number of available fields: " + fields.length);
              for(int i = 0 ; i < fields.length ; i++)
                   try
                        fields.setAccessible(true);
                        System.out.println("Field " + i + ", with value: " + fields[i].get(someObj));
                        fields[i].get(someObj);
                   } catch (IllegalArgumentException e)
                        e.printStackTrace();
                   } catch (IllegalAccessException e)

  • Why can I not set a member attribute when there is only one child below the member?

    Why can I not set a member attribute when there is only one child below the member?The "member attribute" tab on the properties window of App Manager is grayed out. What am I forgetting?TIA,Craig Wahlmeier

    Most likely because Essbase is creating an implicit share relationship between the two members, which is causing the association tab to be grayed out. Tag the parent member with the "Never Share" attribute and see if that fixes the problem.Regards,Jade-----------------------------------Jade ColeSenior Business Intelligence ConsultantClarity [email protected]

  • LINUX:while Deleting OLD backup's got error that ORACLE is not in DBA group

    Error
    Error - The specified host user is not a member of the operating system DBA group. The host user must be a DBA group member since the database user does not have the SYSDBA role.
    But. put users: system,oracle in OS /etc/group :
    oracle:x:500:oracle,system
    And both users have the DBA role

    To be able to OS authenticate login as sysdba, your OS user need to be in dba group which you choose when you do installation.
    SYSDBA role is not same as DBA role
