Not a huge problem, but really annoying

For some weird reason, certain albums in my library get sorted and displayed as five or six different albums on my iPod touch when in reality, it's just one album with a compilation of different artists (for example, the Spamalot soundtrack). I don't understand why it's only happening with certain albums; other compilations, like the South Pacific soundtrack, have multiple artists as well, but get sorted as one album.
I've tried altering the album name on iTunes so that they all share the same album name (even though they already did); it doesn't work.
Can anyone explain why this is happening with certain albums and not others and how to fix it, please? Thanks very much.

I gotta say that I did look "hard" and I don't have that problem. I was in a room with no light (pitch black) and went into my videos app (only one movie on there) and saw that all was good. There are others out there too (there was a post with some people that don't have the issue as well). With the hundreds of thousands of new iPad 2's out there you can't believe every last one of them has the issue. Why the problem is present in some and not others, I don't know. But hopefully ur ipad either it corrects itself (as mentioned in some blogs I've read that it goes away eventually) or you can exchange it again with successful results.

When you get your iPod repaired / replaced... do yourself a favor, spend a few more bucks and but a case, like a Lifeproof or Griffin Survivor. Both cover the entire iPod and offer protection against drops and falls, weather, sand, dust, etc. and will at least minimize if not prevent damage to your iPod. Good luck.

To solve a different problem, the folks at the store replaced my iPhone 4S.
I came home and loaded my backup onto the new phone. Everything EXCEPT iMessage seems to be working great.

When I phone people can hear me without any problem, but I hear very very bad. The sounds is metallic and it is very difficult to understand. Have anyone idea of what is it about. I guess is not a software problem but I am not an expert. Thanks in advance

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their colors and that you haven't enabled High Contrast in the Accessibility settings.

I tried to restore the feed http://feeds.feedburner.com/imananddinasbroadcast but feedburner refused.
I know that I missed things up but I still have hope in working things out.

Safari and QTCF.dll - Not fatal but really annoying

Hello everyone. I have Safari + QuickTime + iTunes installed on my Windows 7 x64 box since a long time, but only recently I've found some problems...
Every time I open Safari (5.0.2) its only matter of seconds after an alert pops up saying that QTCF.dll isn't found and that it won't allow the execution of Safari. However, after I dismiss that popup, Safari continues working... Until about an hour or two later shows the same popup. It also happens if I close and reopen Safari.
As I've said, isn't fatal, but its really annoying having to close that popup every time.
I've found that file, and is on QuickTime folder. Moved it to both system32 and sysWOW64 and still shows that popup. Also I've read something about that dll where the answers were "reinstall QuickTime". Well... I've tried to uninstall it to install it again, but it throws me an error about some file that couldn't be removed (I think is that QTCF.dll file).
What do you think? DLL ****? Registry corruption? Thanks in advance
I also have a problem with Top Sites after doing a clean install of Safari 5. It always shows me the same sites, it doesn't change constantly (and those sites aren't pinned). Also, if I delete those sites from it, it won't add any new one. Any ideas?

Moved it to both system32 and sysWOW64 and still shows that popup.
Best to move it out of there. Having an old version in there tends to cause a different kind of startup error for iTunes and QuickTime (if the version of QuickTime proper on the PC is updated).
By any chance, have you ever had a version of QuickTime Lite or QuickTime Alternative installed on the PC? Last time I checked, they used to install a copy of QTCF.dll to the system32 directory (on 32-bit systems). Since they use the QuickTime registry entries, your Registry may currently be looking in the wrong place for the QTCF.dll.
Well... I've tried to uninstall it to install it again, but it throws me an error about some file that couldn't be removed (I think is that QTCF.dll file).
Could you try another uninstall and post back with the full filename and filepath of that file, please? (I'd like to see where your system thinks your QTCF.dll is installed just at the moment.)

Found the solution to the problem. Probably not the best fix, but it works.
I have upgraded to Snow Leopard, but I don't think it changes anything...
There is ONLY 1 WAY to configure the AX to make it work as we expect.
You must check the option "Create a new WiFi network", even if what seems natural is to check "Connect to an existing network".
Then, name your network, like for instance "MatFromParisse Network", select the security level you want and password.
If required, you select "Connection via Ethernet", EVEN IF NO ETHERNET PLUG connected.
IPv4 configuration: "Via DHCP".
This all look like you are going straight in the wall and doesn't seem natural...
Then on the computer you are using iTunes on, select the network you just created (like "MatFromParisse Network"), instead of your usual network.
AirTunes will play, but it seems you no more access the internet. When you want to surf the internet again, switch back to your normal WiFi network. It seems that it's not possible to listen to music and surf at the same time.

It sounds like the cellular data will not activate for some reason on the iPad.
I found this article that will help you resolve this issue here, named iPad (Wi-Fi + Cellular Models): Troubleshooting a cellular data connection, found here http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4249
Check for a carrier settings update.
Update your iPad.
Toggle the Cellular Data setting off and on under Settings > Cellular Data.
Restart your iPad.
Tap Settings > General > About. Locate the Carrier entry and make sure that your carrier is correct.
If your SIM card has SIM PIN enabled, try turning it off: Tap Settings > Cellular Data > SIM PIN.
Make sure you're in an area of good coverage. If the cellular data connection works in another area, contact your carrier to report the original affected area.
Reset network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Restore the iPad as new.
If none of the above steps resolves the issue, make an appointment at an Apple Retail Store, contact your carrier, or contact AppleCare to troubleshoot further.
I know you may have done one or two of the steps here, so you can skip those.

You 'ran out of room' because you tried to put your entire question into what is the 'Topic line' of the post.
This is a fairly common error, as a scan of the topic list will show, and likely due to a design flaw in the layout of the composition page.
Most posters who make this error do so on their first post, and are able to avoid a similar misstep on their second and subsequent questions.

Atv2 keeps dropping the connection to i tunes. I get a message telling me to open home sharing even though i have done so and i tunes is open on my iMac. This is not a new problem but it has gotten worse progressively

Thanks for the reply and the analogy, one can overlook the fact that it could be something other than the device that is the cause of the problem and i realise that, however frustration can creep in and cause one to overlook obvious things. I have spoken to my ISP and we have examined a number things, firstly my download speed on wireless which is a healthy 16mbps. Next the channels being used around me, which were numbers one, six and eleven, and we changed my channel to three. It would appear that those using eleven are mobile users with no fixed landline. I do not have any electrical devices anywhere near the ATV except for the TV itself, a DVD recorder and a PC computer only rrecently set up there and after the problems started anyway. I have removed the PC entirely from the room and it has no effect on the situation with the ATV. In the same room but some distance from the ATV, a lamp and the telephone base station, which has to be close to the socket which is in the same room as the TV and the ATV of course. The problem continues. I have actually tried connecting ATV by ethernet to the router, and last night that worked, today however it refuses to do anything at all.
At this moment in time i have the computer connected via ethernet cable, though it connects by wireless perfectly. I have the ATV connected vis ethernet, and it fails to connect to iTunes at all.
Overall i have stripped the thing down to its basics and started from scratch again more than once. I am not particularly clever, nor am i stupid. For me all i really want is to be able to plug this stuff in and have it do what it says on the tin. So far i have spent a great deal of time trying to figure out what is wrong with ATV, a device that cost £99 plus a few months ago, purchased 17th March this year, and i, like everyone else i suspect, have better things to do with my time. If you have any advice, help or suggestions i would be most grateful. Please do not think that my tone is in any way a criticism of you personally, its just a very frustrating experience.

i was in contact with a mozilla dev working on sync and he meant that even if you "remember history" the size issue shouldn't come up under normal circumstances - so maybe let's take this as a one-off failure. <br>in case it reappears you might really consider filing a bug report (but then it may be useful to submit your history files to the devs in some private way)...

Never had to use to use this site before and the issue isn't actually a Mac one as as far as I can tell but I'm hoping someone can help.
I should be contacting the BBC directly but the posting function has vanished from the mressage boards when I log in.

It hasn't downloaded anything for me in about three weeks.

The metal backing on my iPod is about 1 mm off center. Is this normal?

I don't think it is an issue, but keep an eye on it, so that it does not become loose or anything else. Can you push it in to snap it in place... could be that it was never push all the way together. Before you do that, go to an Apple store and show them and compare it with other iPods. It's just my 2 cents worth. Best of luck!

If you think getting your web pages to appear OK in all the major browsers is tricky then dealing with email clients is way worse. There are so many of them.
If you want to bulk email yourself, there are apps for it and their templates will work in most cases...
