Help! Had a computer crash. Got a new computer. Want to download all my iTunes purchases from the iTunes Store. Should be simple...right? How do I do it?

I'm afraid to say the official policy on music/media purchases is that you only get one download and it's up to you to maintain a backup against loss: iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
The licensing of Purchased applications allows for them be downloaded over again, see this article for details: How to redownload purchased applications from the App Store
If you have an iPod that still has any of your purchases on it you'll find details in this article on how to transfer them to the computer: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
Failing this, you could try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so.     All content bought/downloaded from iTunes is tied to the account that downloaded it and it can't be transferred to a different account - so you will need to authorise your old account on that computer if you want to transfer its purchases over.

  • Safari wont open - not a new topic but offered fixes dont fix

    like an earlier post on the exact same subject, i tried to launch safari, got the window (empty) and then safari just closes down.
    i get a report to apple option with an impenetrable message which i send.
    it's been a couple of months now and i've pretty much given up on it, using firefox instead.
    any wisdom? sorry this is a repeated topic but i prefer safari to firefox.

    You don't say what you have tried, but try this:
    Firstly:
    Repairing permissions is an important part of regular maintenance, and should always be carried out both before and after any software installation or update.
    Go to Disk Utility (this is in your Utilities Folder in your Application folder) and click on the icon of your hard disk (not the one with all the numbers).
    In First Aid, click on Repair Permissions.
    This only takes a minute or two.

    If you were having any serious problems with your Mac you might as well complete the exercise by repairing your hard disk as well. You cannot do this from the same start-up disk. Reboot from your install disk (holding down the C key). Once it opens, select your language, and then go to Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Select your hard disk as before and click Repair.
    Once that is complete reboot again from your usual start-up disk.
    Secondly:
    Download and re-install the correct COMBO 10.4.11 Updater, followed by a restart.
    Thirdly:
    Download and re-install the Safari 3.1.1 updater, followed by a restart, but bear the following in mind:
    If your Safari keeps crashing, or if you are updating Safari (or just have):
    Input Managers and other plug-ins from third parties can do as much harm as good. They use a security loophole to reach right into your applications' code and change that code as the application starts up. If you have installed 10.4.11 and Safari is crashing, the very first thing to do is clear out your InputManagers folders (both in your own Library and in the top-level Library), log out and log back in, and try again.
    So, disable all third party add-ons before updating Safari, as they may not have been updated yet for the new version. Add them back one by one. If something goes awry, remove it again and check on the software manufacturer's website for news of an update to match your version of Safari. Remember: Tiger up to 10.4.10 used Safari 2.0.4 or, if you downloaded it, Safari 3.0.3 beta. Safari 10.4.11 used Safari 3.0.4 which was not a beta, and now Safari 3.1.1. If Safari 3.1.1 on 10.4.11 is not the fastest browser you have ever used, then something is wrong!
    (Trying to revert to Safari 2 when running 10.4.11 can have repercussions, as Safari 3.x use a completely different webkit on which other applications like iChat, Mail, Dashboard Widgets etc also rely.)
    Most errors reported here after an update are due to an unrepaired or undetected inherent fault in the system, and/or a third party ad-on. Add-on that have been frequently mentioned here, among others, for causing such problems are Piclens, Saft, AcidSearch and Pithhelmet. If you have them, trash them and go the developer's sites to see if new versions are available for Safari 3.1.
    You should also ensure, if you are running Tiger 10.4.11, that you have downloaded and installed the correct version for your Mac of Security Updates up to 2008-003. Like all security updates, these require a restart and a permission repair.
    To reiterate, Input Managers reach right into an application and alter its code. This puts the behavior of the affected application outside the control and responsibility of its developers: a recipe for problems. That's not to say that issues absolutely will ensue as a result of Input Managers, but you, as a user, must decide. If the functionality of a specific Input Manager or set thereof is really important to you, you may well choose to assume the associated risk.
    Again, the advice is to remove all Input Managers from the following directories:
    • /Library/InputManagers
    • ~/Library/InputManagers
    especially prior to system updates (they can always be added back one-by-one later).

  • Windows platform, cannot use several of Suite programs now as they are coming up as trial versions since I started using Cloud..sure this is not a new topic, but not much Adobe support. Appreciative of help.

    CS 6 Design and Web premium individual programs (not in use for some time) are now launching as trial versions since the advent of Adobe Cloud. Windows platform. I am sure I am one of about a million people with this issue, but having trouble getting specific suppport, no telephone numbers and installing this suite of programs was a nightmare....appreciative of any help today!

It is not a CS6 issue; it is not a specific software issue, none of the links address this situation which is an ADOBE issue...created by the Adobe Cloud process, not by me.
    The "serial number is not valid" link I have already explored and their wonderful solutions do not apply and their suggestion to reinstall my software is the ABSOLUTELY LAST THING THE WORLD I will ever do after my initial experience with the original post-antipiracy measures installation. I understand antipiracy actions, but Adobe's response is out of control and not working for those of us who have honestly purchased the software. I did not create this issue, Adobe did. They should provide a telephone number with a live body to fix this issue for those of us affected. BTW I have been trying to resolve this on my own for one week before I even posted in this forum. Again I appreciate your responses, but they are not resolving my issue.

  • Not a new topic but...I cannot connect to Itunes store

    Seems like the same old song and dance. I downloaded the latest Itunes version and ever since my itunes not only opens slowly, but I cannot access the Itunes store.
    My firewall allows Itunes, I have flushed, added certificates, checked settings..you name it, I've tried it. What used to take seconds for my computer to open Itunes, it take several minutes. Any other suggestions would be grand.

  • HT1386 Synching stops at transfer of purchased products

    The synching starts off all ok but when it gets to locating the purchased products the barbers pole stops rotating but it does get to the next step of transferring purchased products - the little bubble stays very little on the area where the Barbers pole was and then it dosnt finish. I just get an apple symbol in this area. I have tried to reset the iPad and stat it again and then I have turned it off over night and I still get the same result.

    You can't delete Apple ID's. There is no way to do that. Just abandon it - don't use it any more that's all. If you entered credit card information into the second ID, you might want to remove that information from the account.
    Are you sure that you are signed into the same account in iTunes on your computer that you are using for the iPad? If you are logged into one ID on the iPad and signed into another ID in iTunes on the computer, you will not be able to transfer those purchases.

    Your music should be in your iTunes library, that is how it gets synced to the iPod. If that music is not present in the iTunes library, you will need to get a 3rd party software for the computer to get the music off the original iPod and then move it to the iTunes library to be able to sync it to the new iPod.     For some reason, iTunes will not allow me to transfer this music to my iPhone. I get the "red circle with the cross through it" symbol when I try to drop it into the iPhone..
    Can someone suggest a way that I can oversome this and add my music to my phone from my new computer?
    At this stage, I can only add music to it via the old iTunes/old computer that the phone was originally synced to.

    It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.  Use your backup copy to put everything back.

    If you see Devices in the big list on the left-hand side of iTunes, it should show the name of your iPhone right below it. You can right-click (or hold ctrl and left click) on the name of the iPhone there, and choose "transfer purchases from iPhone".
    If you're on iTunes 11, you won't see the big list of the left until you go to the View menu at the very top (where you see iTunes/File/Edit/View/etc) and choose Show Sidebar. Then do the same thing: right-click or ctrl and left-click on the iPhone's name below Devices and "transfer purchases from iPhone".
    It'll ask you to authorize the computer for your Apple ID if you haven't yet; to do that, you just type your Apple ID and password in when it asks. If it says you are not authorized but doesn't automatically give you an option to do so, then you can go to the Store menu at the very top and choose "authorize this computer".

    Woops, big mistake not backing up, since you only get ONE download from the store; no more downloads will be coming to your new PC.
    Do you at least have your purchases on an ipod? You could authroize the new PC, then do itunes menu > file > transfer purchases from ipod.

    use tcode bd87 in SRM to check for failed confirmation IDOC (type MBGMCR).
    The double click the status record to see the exact cause of the failure.
    Rectify the error. Then try to execute the IDOC from BD87 tcode.
    For a few errors you may not be able to execute the IDOC but to create a new confirmation in SRM. In such cases, follow the below procedure..
    There should be an entry for the confirmation in the transfer table BBP_DOCUMENT_TAB in SRM. Display the details.
    Then run FM "BBP_DELETE_FROM_DOCUMENT_TAB" to delete the entry from the doc tab table.
    Then post a new confirmation in SRM.
    There is also a FM in SRM using which you can change the status of thefailed IDOC from 51 to 68 or 31.
