Not a real problem anymore, but a weird Apache behavior wrt .php files
Hello everyone. Yesterday I was trying to set up an ordinary LAMP server in my VPS, running Arch (first time ever touching apache). After all was said and done, and apache and PHP were correctly configured following the Arch Wiki, I tried to get some things like phpmyadmin and ampache running, but I found out that my browser was asking me to download either a login.php file or an index.php file (to be more specific: I added a test.php file in /srv/http and that was interpreted correctly and I could see all the information as intented; if i pointed my browser to /phpmyadmin or /ampache though I would see the first page but after trying to, for example, logging in with phpmyadmin I'd get the download prompt). I googled around and yes, everything was configured as it should have, I had the AddHandler directive in the apache conf file and all that jazz. This morning, I log in, I start apache (since it wasn't working I figured that I might as well shut it down for the night and yes, while testing and setting up things yesterday I restarted the daemon every time) and everything works as it should: ampache lets me create my configuration, phpmyadmin lets me see my DBs and everything works. So, the problem apparently fixed itself, or at least the weird behavior I was witnessing is no more. Is there any specific reason for this? I wouldn't want to start from scratch (and I probably will, since I like to mess up a lot, that's how i learn!) to perhaps find myself in this spot again and not know what to do!

This was a problem with apache-2.2.17-2. Don't worry, it's fixed for good.

Hello, I want to perform a simple task.I have two Adobe ID accounts linked to two different email addresses. One account i do not want to use anymore but it is linked to my main email account. the account i do not want anymore is still in its free stage and i have not purchased anything with it. My other Adobe ID account is linked to an email i rarely use and don't particularly want to use. i have tried changing the linked email account to my regular one i use. But it obviously does not allow me because of it already being linked to my other non used obsolete Adobe ID account. Is there any solution to this?? Please help.

I have a ipod classic 160GB and it's not showing any music anymore, but there is still showing 7GB of memory being used, and I don't have it backed up on my itunes, since I had to put a new hard drive on my computer. Any suggestion to find out whats on that memory or to get it the music back, there is approximately over 1400 songs on it?
What is the memory being used by, is it Other? If it is, that means the iPod can no longer read the music, so it has put it all in "Other".
The usual fix for this is to allow the iPod to Sync with its iTunes Library. If that doesn't work, the next option is to Restore the iPod using the Restore command in iTunes, on the Device/Summary pane.
Unless you are very (very) lucky, I suspect that you are going to have to Restore your iPod. Restoring will remove everything form the iPod and put back onto it only what it finds in your iTunes Library, which you say is currently empty.
If you have to rebuild your Library after this issue, by adding all the music back again, this is going to be hard to hear, but for the future, you may want to consider always having a backup of your library. The easiset way to back the Library up is;
if the Library is small enough, burn it to a DVD, as digital files, not a "music CD".
If your Library is too large for a DVD, buy yourself an external hard drive and copy the Library onto the drive. Remember to update the backup every so often. -
I burned disks of previously purchased content that is not available thru iTunes anymore but the latest ver. of iTunes won't let me copy this same content onto a new comp. Is there a way to do this or maybe an earlier ver. of iTunes to download?

Hi. My mavericks is crashed and when i on my mac always showstha disk utility window. I do everything like repair and all but not fix this problem. I have no back up of my files. Is there any way to reinstall mavericks without erase my old data ?
To back up your data, either use Target Disk Mode and a cable from another Mac (which mounts your problem Mac as an external disk of the other Mac) and Disk Utility on that other Mac, or — and this is all assuming you either have a slow Internet connection and don't want to use Internet Recovery, or if you have an older Mac that doesn't support Internet Recovery — you can create a bootable USB key disk on another Mac and then boot your problematic Mac from that keydisk, then use Disk Utility from the installer to make a backup to another (external) (scratch) disk. You can also use that keydisk to reinstall OS X, to repair or to reinstall OS X.

Can someone please help me to remove an iphone telephone number from my imessage application. I no longer have a phone which I registered on my apple ID as a second phone. I have been on my apple ID and it does not seem to be there but cannot remove it from imessage, which still has it as an option to connect to. I am concerned that someone else who inherite this old phone will see my messages if I accidentally enable it again. I have read and re-read various postings and tried all options given but no luck, the **** thing stays there.....

Problem with OsCommerce : Safari just offers to download PHP files...
When browsing my oscommerce website, Safari doesn't jump from a page to another, but only offers to donwload PHP files.
I have to cancel several times to access other pages...
Any idea of the trouble?

Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.
Of course, I could use --force or deinstall poppler, jre & co. with dependencies and reinstall it after other packages were upgraded. I will do so, anyway. But seriously, with upgrades this files do exist in filesystem, of course the do. And this can't be the standard way with virtually every upgrade. Is there a pacman issue I haven't found here? Is there another workaround?

The last time it was also poppler. I haven't installed jre for so long time (2 or 3 weeks?), so it's the first time it has happened with it. Do you mean this with complete packages?

I have had a real problkem after installing ML. The archives in my MAIL tripled (exact copiesof the original files) and when I tried to delete the extra ones, all of my files disappeared. Is there any way that I can get them back as I need them for business?
Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps. -
Gsmartcontrol polkit problem: Not asking for password anymore [solved]

When trying to use gsmartcontrol as normal user it does not ask for permission anymore but starts and the drives are shown as 'unknown model' now.
The polkit-gnome-authentication is autostarted at boot and works fine with gparted e.g.
But with gsmartcontrol I get:

How can I get gsmartcontrol working again as normal user?
SOLUTION:
Use '/usr/bin/gsmartcontrol_polkit' instead of (de)fault '/usr/bin/gsmartcontrol' in your starter.

I sometimes have the same problem, but there's a secure way to overcome this behaviour : when you have finished your purchases, simply go to "configuration" and "store" folder where you'll simply deactivate your account. It's the safest way, sure.
When you wish to access appstore again, go to this folder back and activate. ID & Password will be required then to download.

Hi all. I created a test file called datetest.php in my newly
created local DW site but when I click on "Live Data View" I get an
error that says either:
1. .php file extensions are not being executed by the test
server (I can view a php file in my browser so it is working)
2. The C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache2\htdocs\ folder
does not map to the
http://localhost/Program
Files/Apache Group/Apache2/htdocs/ URL on the testing server.
The odd thing is I can see the datetest.php file in my site
in Dreamweaver (it's there along with other php files like
test.php). I saved it specifically to C:/Program Files/Apache
Group/Apache2/htdocs/) but when I drill down to the folder in
Explorer (I'm using Vista Home Premium) the file is not viewable,
nowhere to be seen, so I think that's the problem. It can be seen
in DW but not in the Vista folder itself.
I've tried to change permissions for those folders but I
still can't see the file so I'm not doing the right thing.

I am so frustrated about Adobe Flash player. I can not play any Facebook games, open certain files and pictures and documents that I need to access because not only does this phone not do it but my old Palm Pre couldn't do it either. I have had so many times where I needed to access things either online or via email, or message that I can not even look at because of this. I have to wait until I for home or ask someone else to do it for me which is embarrassing. I rave about my iPhone 4S all the time because it is truly great except for this. When it use to happen with my Pal Pre I figures once I got my iPhone that it wouldn't happen anymore but I guess I was completely wrong. I have had this problem for years and always get a message saying that it's being worked on. Well a couple of years is a long time to work on it. I understand about contracts and stuff but why is it taking a company such as Apple to be able to get it for their products? I get a lot and always want to play the games on Facebook but I can't do it on most of them at least the ones I have tried. So I can not play against anyone at that time I have to wait until I get home or use someone else's computer or something. Please tell me that in the extremely near future that this will not be a problem anymore. PLEASE!! I am sure I am not the only one out there who is having issues and if you do get it available please let there be an upload/upgrade for current phones and not just for future versions of Apple phones. That just wouldnt be very fair to all of your loyal customers and tell everyone to get your products because they are great and end up leaving this little problem out until they by your phone. Especially if they just got the phone they have. You guys are awesome with technology I have faith that you can make this available to all Apple products old and new by uploads or upgrades. Thank you hopefully can give me some info about the status with this or if there wen is one. I would have thought that being a company such as you are that it would already be taking care of right from the beginning and not wait years to take care of somewhat that is very important ro have especially when there is so much our there using Adobe Flash now. I am not sure if this is just a blog with customers or if the company actually sees these posts but I am just hoping company or not that someone knows something about this. Design panel not active with php file?
I have DW CS5 on two computers. One one the design panel is active with a PHP file. On the other, it is not active.
I must have a setting wrong on the one computer. What do I need to do to make the design panel active? The code panel is fine on both.
It is very hard to work on a PHP file when I can't see the design panel.

You can't do this in Code view?
On both computers, I just generate a new PHP file. On the one computer the design panel is active and I can click design tab on it to see the design. On the other one, I can't click on the design panel tab to see the design.
Both the same version revision level of DW? Both on the same platform? Do you have an option to click on "Design" under View on the main menu?
