"not a valid Win32 application" error ...the post wont open for me

It seems as if that post is getting some help...and its exactly what i need...but it wont open for me..PLEASE...ANYBODY....this is becoming extremely frustrating...

I again –just now – uninstalled Adobe Reader 10.1.2 and got an "installation complete and no error codes.  However, as before, attempting to open Adobe Reader with the desktop shortcut results in an “Adobe Reader cannot open in Protected Mode due a problem with your system configuration.  Would you like to open Adobe Reader with Protected Mode disabled?” Regardless of my answer “Open with Protected Mode disabled” or “Do not open with Protected Mode disabled”  the program opens and displays the “C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader\Eula.exe is not a valid Win32 application.
I am using Adobe Reader 10.1.2, Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 and the 64 bit operating system.
I cannot find MSI log.

  • Not a valid Win32 application error when starting javahost

    Hi,
I am getting the error below. I have searched this forum and the web and found some mentions of it here and there, but no solutions (by the way I am not using MS IIS).
OBI EE is installed on Windows Server 2003 Standard x64 Edition with Service Pack 2. Everything else (BI Server, presentation services and OC4J instance) is working fine.
Any help on how to solve this would be much appreciated!
    Thanks,

Just found the solution for it. I had to "install" a 32 bit JRE and use it to run the java host.
In fact I didn't install the JRE, I just copied its full folder structure from a 32 bit machine to the 64 bit machine and pointed JavaHome in the instanceconfig.xml to there.
All is working well and everybody is happy now, however I am still confused... as I said, the OC4J is running fine with a 64 bit JRE, why the java host needs a 32 bit one? Do you think something went wrong in the installation or that is how things are?

  • Sqlplus.exe is not a valid win32 application error

    Hi All,
I have installed oracle 10gr2 on windows xp.
if i type sqlplus in command prompt i get this error
    "C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\BIN\sqlplus.exe is not a valid win32 application".
i went to the path where sqlplus is present i observed that sqlplus.exe file was 0KB.
how can i resolve this problem. i want to upgrade oracle 9i to 10g so i need sqlplus of 10g to work properly.
please anyone help me out to solve this problem.
    Regards,
    Veeresh S

You'd have to find out how and why that file became 0KB in size.
If one file is 0KB in size, what assurance do you have that other files aren't
    also corrupted ?
It could have been a virus-scanner wrongly attempting to quarantine the file,
it could have been a backup-restore session that copied the file back as 0KB,
it could have been some command that you executed in attempting the upgrade.

  • *.exe is not a valid win32 application error message

When I download updates I cannot install them.  I get the error message that they are not valid Win32 applications, which I know is not correct.  This is apparently a common problem with Windows 7, and nobody has come up with a solution in the
    forums.
    Any ideas?

OK.  I think I figured it out.  Neither the forums nor MS were of any help whatsoever.  In my case, my recollection was that the problem started at about the same time I had an infection, and installed antivirus SW (Ad Aware), which fixed
the problem.  Today, I unistalled Ad Aware, and voila! the *.exe files download and run as they had before the problem arose.

  • Error 'RecoveryMgr.exe is not a valid Win32 application' when trying to restore in Win7

I really hope someone can help as this is driving me mad!
System details - G62 Notebook running Windows 7
The notebook crashed after a Windows update and wouldn't boot up.  I made it into the recovery manager and back my files before restoring to factory settings.
Since getting back in I am unable to get my files back.  I have tried through the recovery manager but it does not allow me to see the files on the dvd.  I have also tried through backup and restore but no joy there either.  When I click on RecoverMgr.exe on the dvd I get error 'RecoveryMgr.exe is not a valid Win32 application' and it won't open.
I hope someone has managed to solve this before as I would love my files back.  All suggestions greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

Thanks Mumbodog.  Unfortunately I have tried and the files won't copy.  Starting to think they are corrupt!  Have tried on a few different PC's but no luck.  Really annoyed   Any other suggestions?

  • Error message " filename is not a valid Win32 application"

I have StarOffice 8 update 11 on a PC running Windows XP. Every time I try to open any StarOffice file from my file manager, I get the error " <filename> is not a valid Win32 application." But I can open the file fine when I do it from within StarOffice, or straight from my email. I cannot figure out how to fix this so that I can launch a StarOffice file from my file manager. Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!

You can look for / identify missing or corrupted Operating System files by running the System File Checker Utility.
Type sfc /scannow in the Run window, and press Enter.

  • Can't update/install itunes- 'not a valid win32 application' PLEASE HELP

    Hi Guys,
I'm having some serious problems with installing iTunes on my laptop. I have searched and searched the internet and can not find any solution to my problem. I am receiving the error "itunes is not a valid win32 application' after the program finishes downloading. Sometimes however it will just stop in the middle of the download. I use a SONY VAIO VGN-NW25GF which was only purchased last year. It uses windows 7. I had trouble downloading itunes to begin with though eventually it worked, however since the new 10.1 update has been available ive been attempting to update it almost every time i use itunes. Each and every time it fails and i've had enough as i need to update my iphone software. I’ve since uninstalled both itunes and quicktime hoping it will reinstall properly. But nothing, the same problem is occurring and now i have no itunes program!
I've tried all the solutions online about deleting browing history/temp folder and any itunessetup.exe/quicktimesetup.exe files and nothing works. I've also tried downloading using a different browser and still nothing. I’ve done a virus scan, disk cleanup and disk defragment and NOTHIGN is working. I'm starting to get quite frustrated as i need this program for my iphone. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks 

  • SAP Download Manager exe:  " is not a valid win32 application"

    Hi,
I just cannot find any solution this issue.
I downloaded from the SDN the SAP Solution Manager (exe File) to a 64 bit machine.
But when I double click the EXE-File to start the installation  I get the following error message:
....exe is not a valid win32 application.
The machine is a 64 bit one so I woinder what the win32 is required?
All the solutions I can find are talking about virus etc.. but I do not believe this.
    Any feedback?
    Best regards
    HanseAtik

    Hi,
yes DLM is a java application but normaly it should be installed via the exe file. This is what I wonder.
    I just did the following:
    Manual installation
Download the Download Manager Java Archive (958 KB).
Copy it to a directory where it can permanently reside:
Open a shell ("command prompt") and change directory (type: cd 'the directory name') to the directory to which the Download Manager Java Archive was copied.
At the prompt, type: java -classpath "DLManager.jar" dlmanager.Application
The Download Manager application starts up
And it works now by this means it be started.
But I wish to install it and be also listed under the installed programs.
Anyway I can live with this now
    Thanks

  • Firefox Setup 7.0.exe is not a valid Win32 application.

''Firefox Setup 7.0.exe is not a valid Win32 application.''
The message above is displayed immediately after I click "Run" in the window titled "Open File - Security Warning" which asks to "Run" or "Cancel".

Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    * Firefox 7.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version.
    * Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data in the profile folder.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

  • Loading itunes on computer that is does not have interenet access. have itunes setup on jump drive.  tried to run on computer and get the following error - "itunes64setup.exe is not a valid Win32 application"

    "itunes64setup.exe is not a valid WIN32 application"

That suggests the installer got damaged when being downloaded to the computer that did have internet access.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser (on the computer with internet access):
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

Hi, I have tried to download several versions of the blackberry desktop software and I keep getting an error saying the executable is not a valid win32 application.
I am using windows 7 and tried to run the executable as administrator.
I also tried to run the CD which came with the phone, and it gets to the install button and nothing happens.

  • ITunes set up gives an error message saying not a "valid win32 application"

I am using Windows 7 and trying to download iTunes, but when I try to open the iTunes set up it gives an error message saying that it is not a "valid win32 application". It does the same for downloading quicktime. I have no idea what this means or what to do about it.

That suggests that the installer is getting damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
