Not able to access iTunes account

Two problems. First of all my ipod touch will not download apps. Everytime I press the install button in the app store the message asking for the itunes account password does not show up. What does happen is it puts the app on the screen and it says waiting. It does not change to say loading or installing and it stays that way. I have had this ipod for 2 days and the first day it was downloading apps perfectly. After this happened I signed out of the account on the ipod and I tryed to sign back in but that would not work anymore. My second problem is that in itunes on my computer I cannot log into my account. The wierd thing is that my brother has an ipod touch of his own and itunes on his own user account on the same computer and he has no problems with his itunes or his itouch. After this I called Apple and I spent 45 minutes on the phone with a representative trying to solve the problem but everything we tryed didn't work. He told me to remove Norton Anti-virus to see if that would solve the problem but i didn't want to remove it because of all the settings that i had saved on it. Next I had a chat with a norton representative and after taking control of my computer and trying to fix it himself he said that it was an issue to do with Apple. In the end I decided that I would take the ipod into an apple store to get fixed or replaced but i still need help getting onto my itunes account on my PC. Can anyone PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well now my iphone will download new app but only after i downloaded an alreaddy bought app.
my pc is still having this insane "time-out" problem
i think its becouse the new iphone 4.2 software the servers are jammed up.
well i hope its over by the end of the day.
or else.... (grump)

    Check speed using speedtest.net
    Check for interference using istumbler or netstumbler
    Male sure you are using ISPs DNS (settings- network- configure DNS - automatic )

    Temporarily disable any security software on the computer and try again.
    If it works, contact whomever supports the security software for assistance on configuring it to not interfere with iTunes.

    If you're truly running 5.0, you are VERY far behind. 5.0 was End Of Support Life well over 3 years ago.
    The two different problems you note can only be caused by problems within your LDAP infrastructure, or if something else was changed in your setup.
    I would URGE you to start out by upgrading to at least 5.2p2, which is publically available. Then switch to "direct ldap" as noted in the 5.2 Admin Guide.

  • I purchased iTunes $15 card at Dollar Store.  I recall entering the code somewhere but was not able to access iTunes . What can I do to get the card added to my Apple store account .

    Launch the App store or iTunes store...scroll all the way to the bottom...your Apple ID & any credit balance will be displayed. If not there, & you no longer have the card, don't waste your time contacting iTunes support, as there is nothing they can do for you.
    You can also login to iTunes on your computer, & any credit balance will be displayed next to your Apple ID.

    What is happening when you try to access the store?  We need more info.  And how are you trying to access the store?  The App Store app on the ipad?  Have you tried through itunes on a computer?

    I recently replaced my HDD in my MacBook after the original failed completely. I ended up having to take the computer to the Apple store so they could format the drive and install OSX for me. After sucessfully restoring my backup to my MacBook this past Sunday I have noticed that I am unable to access the iTunes Store and also cannot access the App Store. When I try to access the iTunes store I am getting an unknown error -1202. When I try to access the App Store its saying "Cannot connect to the app store. An internet connection is required" I have been reading up on this issue here on the community. I've tried multiple things and nothing seems to be working. I am having no issue with any other app that uses the internet connection. If someone could please help. I have another appointment with the apple store but I fear they may charge $$ me this time.

    First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
    Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
    If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."

    Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
    If no change on restarting normally...
    Open console in Applications>Utilities, check the system log for the date/time of the last problem  & the Startup right after that for clues.
    click on the top line we want, Shift plus click on the bottom line we want, CMD+c to copy, then paste the text in a reply with CMD+v
    A few dozen lines should be about right, hundreds or thousands won't likely be readable.

    Apparently it's an itunes issue. I just tried to update and got the same issue. Called att to activate my iphone 4s and they say they can do the swap but apple is telling them itunes is down atm.  So will have to wait

How does one recover APPS lost in a reinstall.

    Are the files still physically on your HD?
    [User]/Music/iTunes/Media/Music is the default location. Unless you suddenly have a bunch of new "free space" on your hard drive, they're still where they were, you just need to create a new library file.

    This is entirely a carrier issue.  If your carrier (airtel) doesn't provide service outside of Mumbia, this has nothing to do with your iPhone.

    Update:  I tried the "Toshiba Recovery Wizard" after everything else either fizzled out or hung up. After going all the way thru the recovery process (up to 100%), I finally got an error message.....it didn't work. And now, when I fire up the computer, I don't even get to that menu with the recovery options....the only thing I can boot into is the screens with the various ways to run your OS (in "safe mode", "safe mode with networking", etc).
    I'm not a techie, but I'm guessing at this point, the part of my hard drive that got damaged in the fall was, at the very least, the partition with the recovery data. Couple that with the fact that this cheapo Toshiba laptop didn't even come with recovery disk (or ANY kind of disk, even basic installation software!), I'm screwed: I don't see any way to get a workable computer now without some kind of disk to boot from. So NOW my concern is more about spending the $$ for a new OS and THEN finding out the hard drive has other problems too...is broken in some other way to boot.
    How to check this? As I said, I did run "chkdsk" back when I could get into the recovery menu and run the fix-it programs. It didn't note any problems. Thinking of taking this opportunity to upgrade to Windows 7 from Vista (which I never liked), but I have to know that the computer is otherwise ok....how to be sure?

    "Gift Card" is sometimes called a tacky gift, but if it allows the other person to get whatever they want it works.
    Besides, anything purchased through App Store is usually "All Sales Final", so I think iTunes card is a good idea.
