Not able to activate unlocked new 4S

Hi,
Got a Factory unlocked iphone 4S, and i am unable to activate it either through WiFi or PC. iTunes version is 10.5.3. In all cases it reaches a point and says please insert a SIM, even when i have a Vodafone microsim inside it. While trying via WiFi, there is a message that says "it wll take 3 minutes to activate your iPhone", then quickly a popup says "Insert a valid SIM card". Now i am confiused if this is really an unlocked phone. The box did not have any marking on any phone service provider.
At all times the top left portion just says "NO SIM".
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the reply.it was a gift, originally purchased from an Apple store in Canada, will try to get the bill details. Meanwhile I entered the iPhone serial number on the Apple on-line service website, that showed that this phone is supported on 4 carriers AT&T',Sprint, C Spire & Verizon.
Can one device be locked to 4 different service carriers at the same time ?

New iPhone will not connect to iTunes Store. Not able to activate

I bought my iPhone 3 weeks ago from an AT&T store and use it everyday. It works fine. I bought one for my wife 2 days ago from the same AT&T store and it does not work. After spending 2 + hours on the phone with Apple level 1 and 2 support, the final diagnosis is a bad sim card. (Apple phone support was very good and very professional) They are in process of sending me a box to mail the iPhone in for service and I am confidant they will fix the problem. I am disappointed, however, the iPhone did not work out of the box and I now have to wait for service on a brand new iPhone.
Has anyone experienced the following problem?
When connected to iTunes, the iPhone is not able to connect to the iTunes store and I receive the following error message, "We could not complete your iTunes request. The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active." I was not able to activate it.
The iPhone screen itself shows the iTunes logo and the sync connector. iTunes does not give me the ability to activate the phone nor make any changes to it. iPhone shows up in the device listing, but that is it. There are no settings in iTunes for making changes or setting up the new phone.
When I plug my iPhone into the computer, everything works fine. The new iPhone does not. I tried everything Apple recommended including: Resetting the phone and deleting / reinstalling iTunes, but nothing worked. So, here I am waiting for service on a brand new iPhone that I have paid for and am paying for monthly service, but cannot use. Kind of stinks...
Anyone have a similar problem?

two call them back they will also overnight you a free iPhone loaner for the next few days if you ask

Try popping out the SIM card and turn off the phone.
Pop in the SIM card once again and turn on the phone, make sure that the SIM card is placed and seated perfectly in the tray!

I have a OSX IMAC Version 10.8.5. I got pages at the same time I purchased this computer. I use a document to write all my passwords. Seems like when I E-mail myself the document from pages, I have not been able to type in the document, it acts like it is locked. I checked all the "lock" and "unlock" fields, and none of them were locked. I notice the document says PDF. How do I correct this? Seems like I've tried everything. If you can get that far, what does it say when you look at
Settings=>General=>About=>Carrier?

Has the phone been officially unlocked by the provider before? Only the provider can unlock the phone, if the phone has been jailbroken to unlock it, restoring will lock it again.

I have purchased a new iphone 5s from ebay. But it is used by some one else and that i have found that after receiving in my hand.
The problem here is i am not able to activate my Iphone. It is asking for the previous owners Apple id and password. I do not have any contact details of the previous owners.
I can put it like that the person is not available.
How to activate the iphone without the previous owner user id or password. Here, one thing is i have the user id of the previous owners but not the password.
Request your help to activate my phone as early as possible.

You can't activate it, and Apple won't help you do so; the activation lock is an anti-theft measure. Ask eBay for a refund.

I got one iphone 3GS which i got unlocked by AT&T.
After unlocked from AT&T i have been asked to restore the iphone. after restoring i am not able to activate it.
I am currently in india and using one Indian SIM card to activate it.
Itunes is giving one message - There is no SIM card inserted in iphone.
Do i need to use any AT&T SIM card only yo activate iphone?

I've just updated my iPad to iOS 7.02 and I'm not able now to download new apps nor update the version of the existing ones. All of them are "waiting"... for ever.Even, when trying to download a new app, a "dratf" icon appears on the ipad, not the app's own icon...
I've tried to switch off and on the iPad, disconnect and reconnect the itunes id... and nothing works. Even deleting an app, to download it again, doesn't work. It even doesn't ask for my password!!! (Stays with the small square with a circle around, the one that gets "bolder" while downloading... but it doesn't get bolder now. Just stay...).
Any suggestions? I wouldn't like to reset the iPad, since I've got data in some apps that I wouldn't like lo loose...
By the way, I can not either delete some apps with thos "draft" icons... even when the alert that appears when trying to do that is shown and select "ok".

Thank you, Once_was_lost, but it doesn't work either. I tried it yesterday as an option (I think you're referring to the options of those apps in the settings app).
The problems are still here... I've been able to update some apps using the PC itunes (connecting the app to it), but all the other apps are still "wating", and I have two new strange things:
* I cannnot remove the apps that are downloading (at least those that are supposed to be downolading ) . But I could remove one from the PC... and now there is an "empty line" in the "to update apps list".
* Stranger: though I cannot download new apps or music from the store, I can do in-app purchases!!! In that case, I'm asked for the password and the item downloads. How is it possible?????
I can download with the same user in the PC, in the iPhone... but not in the iPad .

Activation issues are almost always the result of a device that has been hacked or jailbroken.
If this is the case, no support can be provided here.

I am not able to create a new tab, eventhough i have tried all ways to do it.

Normally the existing (current) tab has at the end an "+", and that gives you the option to make a new tab to the right. My Firefox tab does not have the "+", and I'm not able to create a new tab for another link. The new tab option is not working on my Mozilla internet browser.

Use Hotkey CTRL + T to Open a Blank Tab. Do the following too:
go to Help Menu -> select "Restart with Add-ons Disabled"
Firefox will close then it will open up with just basic Firefox. You can enable the Add-ons later. Check and tell if its working.
