Not able to download or update apps on iphone
I'm not able to update or download apps on my iphone 5 (iOS 6.1.2). I'm logged in, but when I tap update all or update next to the individual app or install at a new app, nothing happens. It's as if the phone is not registering my tap - or that there is some restriction in place. Any suggestions?
User troubleshooting steps are in this order:
1. Turn your phone off, then back on.
2. Reset.
3. Restore from Backup.
4. Restore as a New device.
Since a reset didn't change anything, signing out/in didn't change anything & restrictions are not on, a restore from backup would be the next step.

Is my 3g redundant? will I get compensation for not being able to download or update apps?
Seriously unhappy that there is no update for 3g. Now I cant download apps that I need.
The last upgrade that was available for the 3G was November 2010. No further updates have been available for the 20 months since then. Why have you waited so long to complain?

What can I do to be able to download and update apps?
Just recently mu ¡Pad stopped downloading apps and updates from the store! It just sits there with the blank icon stripe empty for several minutes and the message "can not contact the App Store".
The same thing happens when I try to update my current apps.
I have downloaded an app since then from the website on soundcloud without problem, but can not download from the store.
Everything else works fine. My connection is working on all sites. I can go to the store, browse, get additional info on the apps but when I attempt to download, nothing happens except the eventual message that I can't connect.
Can anyone help me?See if anything in here helps.

I understand that your App Store does not show your app updates. Please follow the steps below to help resolve the issue.
1. Close All Apps on iPad: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
2. Sign out of iTunes & App Stores: Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Tap AppleID > Sign out
3. Reset All Settings: Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
4. Reboot iPad
5. Sign back into iTunes and App Stores: Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Sign In with AppleID

The WSUS server identity on the destination server must be changed. Performing this step guarantees that WSUS-managed clients are not affected during the migration process. If the source server and
the destination server run with the same identity, and a change is made to one of the servers, the communication between the client and server will fail.
To change the WSUS
server identity
On the destination server, open a Windows PowerShell session with elevated user rights and run the following script:
$updateServer = get-wsusserver
$config = $updateServer.GetConfiguration()
$config.ServerId = [System.Guid]::NewGuid()
$config.Save()
As soon as the server identity is changed, run the following command to generate a new encryption key:

Restore the phone as new. Wait a couple of days before adding any apps to see if it's running ok. Then, add apps a couple at a time so that, if any of them cause issues, you'll have an idea which one. -

Not able to download updates to Apps in iTunes
I have about 300 Apps. I have selectively synced a few of them with my iPhone and iPad. I am only able to download updates for the apps which I have synced. For apps which are not synced, I am not able to download updates via the iTunes. For example, currently my iTunes shows as "65 updates available" in the lower right corner, but when I click on it, it says there are no downloads available. See image below
