Not able to download windows 8.1

Hi,
When I clicked on "Download" to get the windows 8.1 update in the store, I am getting an error message by saying "You need to use an account with administrative privileges to install windows 8.1, try logging in with the user
account of administrator of this PC". But, the issue is I have encountered this problem when i logged in with admin user. I have only one user account and the account is admin user. Also, I have observed that Local Users and Groups is missing
in control panel.
Request for a solution to this.

I have read reports that uninstalling Windows Update KB2871389, and then reinstalling it resolved the problem.

I noticed a windows update posted recently for my Win 8.1 to correct problems with the store...
You might check to see if it shows up for Win 8 also... I don't remember the KB number unfortunately.

Boot Camp not able to download Windows 7 Install Disk

I am trying to install Windows 8 on my 2011 Mac Mini. I have a Windows 8 disk, 8GB bootable USB drive, and am trying to download from Boot Camp: 1) a Windows 7 install disk, 2) latest Windows support from Apple, all to install 3) the Windows 8 OS on my yet to be partitioned hard drive.
It goes about about 20% into the process and stops with this error message: " Your bootable USB drive could not be created".
What am I doing wrong or missing?

Bootcamp is not able to download windows-support software

So I want to install windows using bootcamp. But what happens when I open Bootcamp assistant, is that I am told that I need to download the windows-support files. Or put in the CD that followed with my purchase for my MacBook Pro (I dont have this cd currently).
So I select that it should download the windows-support software and then after 2-4 minutes it tells me that the windows-support software is not available.
How do I make it download the windows-support software?
I got Version 3.0.4 of the bootcamp assistent. I run Snow Leopard version 10.6.8. And I installed all software updates.

However, how can I run the bootcamp install files if I dont have Windows on this computer just yet? What would it help to put it on a USB stick?

I am not able to download an ebook to my PC. I have windows 7 x64. I get a "Check Activation" error. The question is that I have 2 Adobe users. I have the ebooks associated to one of them but every time I download Adobe Digital Editions, independently from what user I download it, it always create the Adobe Digital Editions associated to the worng user. If I try to delete the Authoritation it says that it is nor posible and recommneds me to try later, but I never get it.

Repair your Apple software Update.
Go to START/ALL PROGRAMS/Apple Software Update. If it offers you a newer version of Apple Software Update, do it but Deselect any other software offered at the same time. Once done, try another iTunes install
If you don't find ASU in All programs, go to control panel/
XP- add n remove Programs/highlight ASU, CHANGE then REPAIR.

Installing, and uninstalling, applications never touches or removes the data.
Clean out and uninstall all the apple programs and software thru Programs and manually.
Might want to use Revo and CCleaner
I always use manual standalone installers (and keep a couple backup versions)
itunes 10.5 may affect iTunes media playlists, not sure, depends on what you have.
A search of these forums will show some threads.
I'd clean up vista, you need SP2 or later, and specific error message?
I wonder as you arenot the first with a dell if maybe the OS or included software.
Security programs like Norton and older versions of Kaspersky have been implicated.
Also settings in IE that affect pop-ups and plug-ins.

Why is my iPad not able to download mail for hours at a time while the iPhone next to it has no problem?

Why is my iPad not able to download mail when the iPhone next to it can and the iPad may be able to do it 24 hours later with no change in settings? This happens with multiple email accounts at the same time in several locations on many occasions. The setting is to check emails every 15 minutes. It says it is checking but nothing comes up while it does on my Mac or iPhone

I have exactly the same problem here.
Can see new email appearing straight away on the iPhone and Windows pc, but very erratic on the iPad. Sometimes the emails appear immediately on the iPad, other times they don't appear for hours.
One thing I have noticed if I go and change the "delete messages - remove" setting to something other than what it was set (for instance from "never" to "one month") it seems to jiggle something and the outstanding emails all suddenly appear.

The WSUS server identity on the destination server must be changed. Performing this step guarantees that WSUS-managed clients are not affected during the migration process. If the source server and

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

Microsoft Do you have any shame???? What for that SDM is when it is not able to download anything or Produce ISO files????? You have wasted a lot of our precious time . . . Can't you fix a single problem . . . I am downloading windows 8.1 using your SDM
but it gives errors while downloading , and when download completes 100% , it s not able to unpack and produce an ISO file from it . . .

To my knowledge there are no official MS Windows DVDs that contain both the 32 and 64 bit versions. There is a way to make a USB thumb drive that has both bit version on it but AFAIK this can't be done on a DVD disc even with a Dual Layer DVD disc.
For the Windows installer to function, actually boot the system to the install routine, certain files have to be on a certain area of the DVD disc. If by chance you really do have a DVD disc that contains both bit versions your Mac is only seeing the 32bit version on that disc.
You'll need to get a Real MS DVD of just the 64bit version or download the 64bit version ISO from My Digital Life and burn it to a DVD disc.
