Not able to execute the explain plan in development.

Hi In TOAD when try to click "Explain plan current statement." icon, I getting the below error message. ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1 ORA-01950: no privileges on table space 'DEFAULT_DATA' can anybody give some idea to solve this issue?

Is this a new user? You could be running out of quota.
Ask your DBA to user on that tablespace.
Alter user <username> quota unlimited on DEFAULT_DATA;

Resolution Ensure the Plan Table your Toad is using exists, valid, and can use enough space in the tablespace or give unlimited tablespace rights. Setting Toad to use the PLAN_TABLE from SYS schema via View menu | Toad Options | Oracle | General | Explain Plan can resolve the issue as well.

Not really a good idea to do it a SYS user, but it's up to you.
I bet the tables are not in the SYS schema and you're not prefixing the names with the schema name in you select statement. So unless you have private synonyms in SYS schema or public synonyms for all those tables they're not visible by SYS without the prefix e.g.
TABLE_OWNER.TABLE_NAME

Not able to get the actual plan from trace file

I have a Db package and want to get actual execution plan of all the statements in that pakcage it does provides the plan for System's statements but does not displays the plan for Sql statements

Remove the line alter session set sql_trace=false and just exit/disconnect. The explain plain is contained in the STAT lines in the trace file and are only written when the cursor closes. If you turn off tracing before the cursor closes the STAT lines will not get written.

Not able to execute the Method on 64 Bit OS

Hello All,
We are compiling the plug-ins for InDesign Server CS3 on XP which has 32 bit Operating system. These plug-ins work fine if the InDesign Server CS3 is also installed on 32 Bit OS.
But if the InDesign CS3 server is installed on 64bit OS the plug-in method is not invoked also it displays a message as method not found.
Do we need to compile the plug-in in a specific manner to make it work on 64 Bit OS or it should work as it is.

When you use the Statement <b>get PERNR</b>. This referst to the Logical Database.
Define the Logical Database in the attributes of your program and you should not face this error.

If you goto Edit from Menu bar, there you will find the General Overview option, if you click on that you can see other planning areas also.

Are you saying that if you execute the same command in 11.1.0.6, you don't get a similar result? What happens? Do you get an error?
For both the 10.2 case and the 11.1.0.6 case, post the full output of the commands you're executing, and the result you are seeing.

Not able to get the Alias Name(Member Description) in FR by using Planning

we are using the 11.1.2 version in my project. While i am developing the FR repots by using planning database i am not able to find the Member name in my report, but i am able to see the option. MemberName, Alias and Both. If i check the Alias or both its giving only member name only.
Any ides on this or any post are there prior this .

Thanks for the info! It is strange that despite having alias name report is populating member name. It is not the first time strange things hapend with FR.
Can you please check if you are connecting to same data source where you see alias name? Can you pull alias name from SmartView?

In MD04 at bottom, you can see a button for pegged requirement, click there you will come to know the list of requirement. It is not only because of Planned independent requirement you maintain in Md61, it could be due to lot size in Material master, or if you have fixed vendor in sourcelist then it could be because of Minimum order quantity with the vendor, or it could be safty stock or reorder point maintained in Material master

DECODE is changing the explain plan

I have a statement with a decode function in the where clause like this:
AND decode(:cropcode,-1,'-1',sdu.u_crop_group) = decode(:cropcode,-1,'-1',:cropcode)When I a pass -1 as parameter for cropgroup the filter would result in "AND '-1' = '-1' and the statement is executed in less than 2 seconds. When I leave out this where clause it takes almost 18 seconds. The result is the same so I don't understand why the explain plan is so much different and why not using index scans in the statement without decode.

How to proceed further once the explain plan and trace files are generated?

Hi Friends,
I need to improve the performance of on of the views that i am working on.
As suggested in the thread - http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=863295&tstart=0 , i gave generated the explain plan and the trace file.
From the explain plan, we can see the expensive operations for the query.
Can any one please tell, how to proceed further from here on i.e. how to make this expensive operations less expensive?
For ex: FULL TABLE SCAN might be an expensive operation when the table has indexes.In such cases, how can we avoid such operations to make query faster?

An earlier post by you regarding P45 is as below
Starter report P45(3) / P46 efiling for UK
from my understanding though i have not worked on GB Payroll you have said that you deleted IT 65 details of leaver,however there must be clusters generated in system from where the earlier data needs to be deleted and may be that is why you are facing the issue.
In Indian payroll when we execute text file for efiling of tax after challan mapping all the data compiles and sits in PCL cluster and therefore we are unable to generate form 16 with proper output,here we delete the clusters and rerun again the mappings and then check form 16.
Hope this might help you,Experts have suggested you earlier also,they may correct me for this.
