Not able to export files in any format from PP 5.5 new installation.

Hi all.
Hoping someone can help. I just recentlyinstalled a full licensed education version of CS5.5. I was previously running a trial version. I have been trying to export a project, yet everytime I try and export, it crashes at around 2%. I have tried a number of different export formats and have adjusted the codecs to settings that I knew worked in the trial version. It just comes up with an "Unexplained error".
it's driving me nuts as I have to get this file output.
the file I am trying to output is 2 hours and 10 mins long, although I'm pretty sure the length would not cause an issue as it exported fine in the trial version.
has anyone encountered something similar or can anyone please offer a solution or advice.

If you have a red line over the timeline after importing a video and before adding any effects... your project is wrong for your video... read above about codecs
Once you know exactly what it is you are editing, report back with that information... and your project setting, and if there is a red line above the video in the timeline, which indicates a mismatch between video and project

Flip4Mac plays Windows Media content, not AVI content. The codec needed to play those specific AVI files is most likely part of Perian or VLC but may not exist for Mac OS X.

Not able to open files through any Application in Mavericks

HI, Since upgrading to Mavericks, I am not able to open the files/folders through any applications (Photoshop, Open office) or attach any files in Mail or web sites, as these files/folders appear greyed out. I could access those files either by locating them in the Finder and right click 'Open with' or drag and drop those files on to the Application icon on the dock. I could not even attach screen shots for this query. Thanks for your help.

This occurred only to my login. Apple Support advised me to delete the Finder preference list (
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist) and restart. Since then, it is working fine.

I am not able to unsubscribe or delete ANY podcasts from my library. What's worse, almost every podcast I've ever been subscribed to has returned, clogging up my podcasts so they won't run.

I've used iTunes since it first launched and I've never been this frustrated by the software. Everytime I unsubscribe, then delete a podcast, it reappears as soon as I re-open the program. What's even worse, all the old podcasts I used to be subscribed to have returned. This is incredibly annoying to anyone who cares for an organized library, but it has also had the much worse effect of clogging up iTunes so bad it can barely run. Everytime I open it and go over to podcasts, I have about thirty seconds before the program freezes and I have to force-quit. I delete the .itl and the .xml files to start fresh, which worked for a while, until i tried to re-subscribe to the podcasts I was missing out on. Then, it all came back and I had dozens of podcasts trying to download.
From what I gather, this problem is not uncommon. Is there any solution to this that isn't hoping for a patch to fix the issue? I'm a podcast addict and I love getting my content through iTunes, but I just can't handle this. If there is no fix to my problem, perhapes a program that functions like iTunes, but isn't a complete mess right now.

A professional will image your drive and attempt a bit by bit file recovery method directly from the drive itself.
You see when you delete something, it's not quite erased yet, but the space the file took is available to be overwritten, so it's only a matter of time before that occurs and the file is really gone.
So they will recover what they can, and then restore your machine and it's software and return the recovered files.
The TimeMachine is certainly going to assist, good thing you got it.
The trick is to hire someone and quit using the computer until they rescue you, show you in person how to rescue yourself .

Not able to attach files to email account from my hard drive

Firefox will not attach files (from my hard drive - mostly MS Word and PDF files) to my email accounts or job application sites. I tried using Internet Explorer and was able to attach files. So, the problem seem to be Firefox.
I prefer to use Firefox, so please help!

Deployement:
To deploy my project into %TOMCAT_HOME%\webapps folder.
Right click on Project ->Export-> War File
Project Name: Hello
Destination: D:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 6.0\webapps\Hello.war
Result found in web browser:
HTTP Status 404 - /Hello/first
And Hello.war file is not found in webapps folder too after exporting as .war.
I am using Apache tomcat 6.0.37, eclipse 3.7.2 release, tomcat plugin :com.sysdeo.eclipse.tomcat_3.3.0
Please let me know where i am going wrong.

I have done all those settings but still read the 'Eclipse tomcat run time' and repeated the settings accordingly. Still not not getting output.
-I exported the file to destination webapps folder and clicked 'finish'
-when i select 'run on server'
-the tomcat gets started and 'http status 404' page is displayed in browser

- manaully started server
-exported as .war file to webapps but does not get exported, doesnt get deployed and nothing gets displayed in the console
-when provide the link the same page is displayed
One alert message is displayed in the markers 'Classpath entry C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Tomcat 6.0/lib/servlet-api.jar will not be exported or published. Runtime ClassNotFoundExceptions may result.'
I have added servlet-api.jar to the library but still getting this message so tried to adding in classpath (as provided in websites) that also didnt work.
Next what to do i dont understand.

HT2518 not able to access files on macbook air from windows pc

Dear All,
I have resorted to all the options. I want to access macfiles from windows PC. I trieds out all the options. I went to system preferences> selected "file sharing">selected the folder>selected the user name and password for windows account.
But when i click the macbook on the network from windows pc, it prompts me to enter user name and password. When i do the needful it says denied access. I tried to access macbook from two different windows PC one running XP and the other windows 7. The funny thing is that this access is sometimes allowed "say 10% of the time" using the user name and password and sometimes its not allowed.
Another interesting thing is that i am able to connect to windows PC from Macbook but not the reverse option. Somebody pl suggest a way out.

i have done all that. Both the systems are in the same "WORKGROUP" folders.
The peculiar thing is smtms i am able to access the contents of shared folder of Mac but most of the time after i enter d username n passwd the screen just gives the message connecting to......Can this be due to communication issues b/w Mac and windows operating systems. Anyways i am facing lot of problems because of this..Interestingly i can access windows folders easily through MACA system by clicking "GO" and then "CONNECT TO SERVER" path....
Pl let me knw if anyone has any clue on how to sort this issue.

I have an Edit In - Photoshop option, but not an Export - Photoshop option.
Obviously to have right-click Edit In to work, the photo you're right-clicking on needs to be selected. I assume this is not the problem, and that the photo is selected.
Mavericks 10.9.3 has a problem where the Users folder is hidden, and you need to update iTunes to fix it, but it's been a few weeks since this happened so hopefully you're up-to-date and the Users folder isn't hidden anymore.
If you can't get things to work, I'd uninstall LR and uninstall Photoshop, then install Photoshop, and update it, then install LR and update it, as a way to get any wayward security or other OS-level things reset.

Not able to export all the rows into excel

There are actually 27000 records in discoverer report, when i export them to excel sheet i can see only 16000 records.
I'm using discoverer plus.

Do you have parameters on the worksheet? if so then are you selecting same as when you ran it?
What version are you using ? Plus? Viewer? Desktop?
You can export the worksheet into CSV instead of XLS and see what you get.
Also check other formats to see if this missing lines happen in all export methods or just the XLS.

Not able to Export RequestDataset from MDS in oim 11g

Thanks Rajiv, I was confused with requestDataset's attribute "name" and file name of the requestDataset. I thought, OIM uses the name of the requestDataset to export as well. But its using the filename of the requestDataset. How ever, I exported succefully. Thanks.

Sender File Adapter not able to get file via FTP from an external system

Hi,
I have a Sender File Adapter using FTP which polls a server every 10 seconds looking for a file ".xml". The adapter will connect and pick up the waiting file, but sometimes the adapter not able to get file via FTP from an external system. The file is on the server, but despite the polling, the adapter does not pick up it. There is no return error.
The connect mode is Permanently and the transfer mode is Binary.
Can you help me?

does this case appears with a file size higher the others?
Personally, I do not recommend to have a polling under 1min.
10s could be too just, if the file is not small and/or if the file server is far (several kilometers) to where the Adapter Engine is, and/or this file server is beside a firewall. Do not forget also that, with previous points, you could have like a conflict, betwen the 1st polling and the 2nd polling, if in less 10s PI adapter has not enough time: to connect to the FTP server (several Km), find the file (perhaps among 100 other files in the directory), go back to the file to Adapter Engine server (several Km again), convert your file to XML message (with a complex Content Conversion), then check the XML structure, and when all that is done, return back to FTP server (several Km), to archive the source file... Well It's my understanding of a FTP exchange with FILE adapter...
If you really need a 10s polling, that's mean your have a pseudo real time interface. In that case, in my mind file should not be used! but we should use a Web service, JDBC JMS (any exchange without a physical object like a file). For me, it's a non-sens to have a file in that case.

Not able to open file...maybe you can help.

Last Saturday I was recording direct to hard drive using Adobe Premiere Elements 9 and my computer shut down. I have a 41GB file saved with a .avi extension but it is not able to be opened in any program yet. From what I understand, in Adobe, once the file is saved to the timeline (which is how I had it set up) it then goes through the process of adding the appropriate data and processing the file. Since the computer shut down, that didn’t happen. When I right click on the "avi" file in Windows and select Properties>Details the only information showing is the File information. None of the other information that is normally there in video section for a video file in Window 7 is there.
I opened the video in "GSpot" (the free app recommended by some in this forum) and clicked on the button at the bottom for “Proposed Codec Solutions and Tests.” I’ve included a couple of screen shots of what appeared in GSpot:

A screen shot for a similar file: the video production that we did after I restarted the computer. I include this for comparison, since this file works fine.
I don’t know enough about video to know what to look for or how it might be possible to correct the first file, but I thought having this information you might be able to point me in a direction or tell me definitively that it’s hopeless and we should move on to re-recording the session.

The shutdown is not the problem. As you'll see from my repsonse to Bill, I went on battery to reduce the noise I was getting in the audio and was expecting to get an alert but I never saw it before the computer went into Hibernate. That is an issue, but if I choose to do that again, i can correct for that by closely monitoring the battery. I'd like to find a way to get rid of the audio noise (crackling sound and low buzz) without unplugging, but my more immediate concern is recovering the 3.5 hour video that is part of a training class that we are offering online.
Any ideas you have about that besides what Bill suggested would be great.

HTTP 500 - Internal server error - not able to Export BI report to Excel

Hi,
We just upgraded to HFM 9.3.1.4. Unfortunately we are not able to Export BI report to Excel (in Workspace and in BI Studio). We receive the error message "HTTP 500 - Internal server error" (this worked fine in 411).
We are able to preview in PDF and HTML, but not Export to Excel. We also just restarted the services for workspace and web analysis, but still the same issue.
Anyone have any idea what is wrong?
