Not able to increase SAP kernel release 6.40 patch level from 43 to 71

Hi Guru's,
I have to update SAP kernel release 6.40 patch level from 43 to 71 but not able to do.I am running solution manager 3.2 on Oracle 9i and Win-2003 OS.
Please provide the solutions .
I have downloaded kernel patch from Path at Service matket place ---Support Packages and Patches" SAP Technology Components" SAP SOLUTION MANAGER" SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 3.2" Entry by Component" SAP Solution Manager-SAP KERNEL 6.40 32-BIT UNICODE-Windows Server on IA32 32bit-ORACLE-
SAR SAPEXEDB_71-20000254.SAR Kernel Part II (for Basis 640/620) 71
I followed following Steps:
1. Copied the patch into a temporary directory on system.
2. Unpacked the downloded SAPEXEDB_71-20000254.SAR Kernel Part II (for Basis 640/620) 71 patch .
3. Stoped the SAP System using MMC.
4. Saved the kernel directory by backup or by copying into a separate backup directory. (\usr\sap\<SAPSID>\sys\exe\run)
5. Re-started the server.
After logging again in SAP client 000 on checking found server patch level coming same as previous one .
Its not got updated and due to this in Tcode- SPAM I am getting error message :'The OCS package SAPKITL318 requires a kernel with Release 640 and patch number 71. The kernel you are currently using has a lower version.'.

As I am planning to migrate our 64-bit SAP R/3 system(SAP R/3 4.6C) from Solaris/Oracle to 64-bit Windows/MS SQL server 2005 environement.
As per Product Availability Matrix(PAM),for our new platform MS SQL Server 2005 on Windows 2003(X86_64), Kernel release "4.6D_EX2 32-Bit MS SQL Server " is available.
This product (Kernel), I tried to find out this specific kernel release for our purpose, but could not find it.
Please advise where can I find SAP kernel release . Please suggest, if any other kernel release can be used.

Not able to see SAP Authontication in CMC

Hi,
We have installed SAP BO XI3.1 SP3 linux version. We have been successfully installed business objects XI 3.1 SP3 on linux X64bit version. We have installed SAP integration also on same server we have installed it sucessfully. I was able to see SAP credentials at logon screen of CMC and Infoview. We login using adminsitrator we are not able to see SAP underr CMC authontication tab.
Can any one have faced same issue and how it was resolved can you please step by step instructions.
If any one have document that related to sap integration kit installation on linux please provide.

Have you specified the path of sapjco.jar file in catalina.sh ( file location: /../tomcat/bin)
pls see below procedure to set classpath
CLASSPATH="$CLASSPATH":"$CATALINA_HOME"/bin/bootstrap.jar:"$CATALINA_HOME"/bin/commons-logging-api.jar:"$CATALINA_HOME"/BO/bobje/tomcat/common/lib/sapjco.jar
and restart tomcat server.

iam running on SAP NETWEAVER Studio 6.0.21 in Windows XP operating System , not able to install SAP Web Apllication Software -6.40 .
iam not sure what to choose(while Installation) central system or distributed System ,i have tried in either way but
still not able to install the software .
If i go with Sap System Installtion>Java System >Distributed system>Java Central Instance installation ,it throws me getJavaHome was executed with status error ......

what is the version of Sap Web Application Server to be installed if my system runs on

I realized that I can put a block in WebI and then I can pull that in excel alongside of static header, after putting the question.
My interest to know whether it is by design in XI 3.0 or it is an issue. But by the replies it seems to me like it is by design.
@Anis: I can't go for header as part of Body. Because this report is viewed in Web by many other users. I can't have separate report for Live office, it is a restriction for me. If I use the header in body, it wont look good I guess.

Your post did not really provide any details on what you have done in the way of troubleshooting or printer software that you have installed, so we don't have much to go on here.
For starters though, you will not be able to print unless you have installed Bonjour Print Services for Windows v2.0.2 on the PC(s) and run the program.
So, if you have not done this, that would be a good first step.

SAP Kernel release - Difference between SM51 and System- Status ?

Dear SDN colleagues,
I am a ABAP developer, and have been told by our Basis department that our SAP Kernel is 640.
When I check the following, I get different values:
1) System -> Status : SAP_BASIS is 620
2) Transaction SM51 -> Release Notes: I see SAP R/3 Kernel 640_REL
Can anyone explain why there is a difference in these informations? (and which is the correct one !)

First of all there is nothing to be "implemented" as per the note.
Additionally the poor basis guy is saying the correct thing. Check this part:

The changes are activated with the following patch levels:
4.6D : 1495
6.20 : 764
The paging administration was enhanced.
The error is no longer passed on to other sessions and the trace outputs to determine the error cause have been improved.
The patch levels mentioned are kernel patch levels and have nothing to do with your SAP_BASIS release.Since your kernel is 640 this note is no longer applicable. In my opinion you need to dig for some other note.

Components required for sending Email from SAP [Kernel Release 46D]?

Hi All,
Can somebody please tell me the components and the Configuration settings required for sending Emails from SAP system[Kernel Release 46D] to the mail server[Win NT] using SMTP.
From note 455127, I understood that "Sap Internet Mail Gateway" is required and there are other settings to be done. (SAPconnect with RFC can only be used as the Kernel version is 46D)
It will be great if somebody can explain me in simple steps if He/She has done this before.

sendmail comes with UNIX OS, there are versions of sendmail programs available for Windows too, but i guess you have to purchase them.
Another alternative is a discontinued product called SAP Exchange connector, if you have a Windows environment and MS Exchange server as your mail server, you could use a SAP exchange connector and get your SAP Email config done.

Not Able to see SAP systems in List of Available SAP Systems for Crystal R

We have installed Crystal reports 2008 and SAP integration KIt client software on my machine. I am trying to create Crystal reports based on the BI query and I could see SAP Connections in the 'Create new connections list' but not able to see any SAP systems in the list of 'Available SAP Systems'.
How to Add SAP systems to this list.

1. Define an environment variable (user or system) with the name SAPLOGON_INI_FILE . This variable should contain the path to your saplogon.ini file including the file name eg. if the saplogon.ini resides in the folder c:\windows the variable should contain the following value c:\windows\saplogon.ini
2. Open your saplogon.ini file using Notepad and go to File->Save as. Choose All Files in the field Save as type and DO NOT change the name of the file. In the field Encoding make sure that UTF-8 is selected.

Not able to create a java class included in custom jar from script

Hi,
We need to call a third-party web service from within SAP Sourcing and so we have created and deployed a custom JAR. However I am not able to create any of the custom classes included in this object. I have created a simple JAR file having just a "Hello World" message and got our BASIS team to deploy this (they deployed using the steps mentioned in Installation Guide Section 4.2.4 - we are using Sourcing Wave 9). I have added the required import statement in my test script and included this line:
HelloWorld test = new HelloWorld();
When this script executes, it gives the error:
Class:HelloWorld not found in namespace.
Can you please give your suggestions on how to fix this error?

The issue was fixed after including the custom jar in esourcing90/lib folder and redeploying

History and Next Step not working in UWL SAP MDM 5.5 SP6 Patch 2

Hi,
Im not able to send a record to other process step with other roles in a WF.
When USER 1 logs on its possible to send the record to the next process step where USER 2 is assigned. When USER 2 logs on, the user is not able to send it anywhere, the iView is empty.
Its the same problem when we press the history button. In the first step of the WF its possible to see history. In the second step the history iView is empty.
Any ideas?

I've seen issues like this as well. There are a variety of issues that came out of the SP06 Patch 2 upgrade which effect the MDM workflow and Portal UWL. I would recommend checking out the latest hotfix as I think it resolves a lot of these problems. The latest build is 5.5.62.50 (5.5 SP06 Patch 2 Hotfix 4). They released four hotfixes within a month (I think) so my guess is they are aware of the issues with SP06.

SMP 3.0: Not able to upgrade to SMP 3.0 SP03 PL01 runtime from SMP 3.0 SP03

Hi Experts,
I am trying to upgrade SMP 3.0 SP 03 to SMP3.0 SP 03 PL01 patch. But when i launch the installer it says:
Installer could not check for administrator privileges.
You must have administrator privileges to install SAP Mobile Platform 3.0 SP03 PL1
I am not able to proceed ahead. What could be the reason for this pop-up?

P.S.: There is only one admin user on this machine and with the same user I have installed SMP 3.0 SP03 and mobile SDK already.
P.S.S.: I have tried the same after logging with .\smpServiceUser user also but same warning.

Finally i am able to resolve the issue. This issue was due to some files had been corrupted and were causing problem in upgrading to PL01 and uninstalling smp 3.0 SP03.
Let me share what i have done:
1. Stopped "SAP Mobile Platform Server" service from services.msc. Make sure there is no instance running for the same.
2. Deleted installed SMP folder at "C:\SAP\MobilePlatform3"
(if some folder is not getting deleted, rename it to some name and then try to delete it)
3. Go to "regedit.exe" and look for "SAPSMP3Service" and delete its every instance/folder.
4. Delete "SMP" folder from this location C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Universal
4. Reboot your machine and then try to install.

Not able to put reason for rejection at sales order level.

Hi Gurus,
I have an issue where I am not able to put reason for rejection for line item in sales order. It gives error as please delete the follow on document purchase order line item number 10. I have already deleted the line item in purchase order. Then tried but did not work. Tried by deleting the purchase requision item also but it did not work.
Tried to undelete the item from PO and then again tried to put reason for rejection but it could no worked out.
Please guide me what can be the solution.

As far a I understand you created PO for line item
So first check whether GR is reversed or not for PO
Then mark this line item for deletion in PO and then in PR
Check if you have created any billing document for PO if so reversed that invoice
Also check if you have created any delivery for the Line item in sales order if yes then reversed the same
If you have Sales order related Billing, and if you have done billing reverse the same
If you have Delivery related Billing, and if you have done billing reverse the same
After reversing all docuemnts created for Sales order then only try to reject the line item
You can check table VBFA for document flow

Not able to change the roles through the ERM after uploading from ECC

We are not able to do the following activities after uploading the roles into ERM from Backend system
1) We are not able to see any transaction data but we are able to see org values.
2) We are not able to change the roles from ERM.
Vserion and support pack leavel : GRC5.3 and 13
