Not able to modify metadata

Lost the pencil icon in Metadata window. I can't modify any metadata of my JPG files and when I try to click on anything get the message 'this property cannot be modified'. I have not made any changes, nor installed new software. Have closed and re opened Bridge, ran Disk Utility and MacJanitor and tried resetting Bridge preferences by pressing down the Ctrl/Shift/Option when launching Bridge. Have looked thru this forum and Google to no avail. Bridge version is 1.0.4.6. Thanks!

In case you have distributed caches built into each folder by CS2.
(I memory serves, the global Purge Central command in CS2 behaves correctly meaning it leaves distributed caches alone, as it should, not like C3 which messes with everything.)

Not able to modify Guage( dials) in OBIEE 11G

After selecting Guage view(any view default or otherwise), I am not able to modify the properties for the same. If I Click on the edit Guage properties and make some changes and then click on ok, it throws a pop up at me saying ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO LEAVE THE PAGE.... and options 1) leave the page and 2) stay on the page.
Please help is this a bug in OBIEE 11g, is there a patch available to correct this?

This is a bug in obiee 11.1.1.5 . Please apply the patch 12761355(Request a password from Oracle Support). It is not at all related to any browser.

I am not able to modify the text in pdf output file using pdf editor

We have upgrade the xml 5.6.1 in server level. After upgrading this, we are not able to modify the pdf output file. Previously we used to modify text and delete text in pdf file which is generated by oracle Application. As of now we cann't upgrade higher version. Can you suggest what to do?.

Check the xdo configuration file option in the user guides. There should be options that allow / disallow modifying text specifically. If you are in EBS, you should be able to change the configuration file options from the XML Publisher Administrator UI.

Not able to see Metadata fields when adding the fields to the rule even after creating them in information fields of configuration manager.It is happening for few fields only.We are using 10.1.3 version of UCM.Kindly provide a solution if any.

On this document, if you look at page# 14 thru 17, it has the steps I described in my original note with customs code still appearing in the drop down for 'EXCPT' for EAR.
Nevertheless, I wanted to default Type = C50 when the license type for the line on the Customs declaration is 'EXCPT' but if you see the very last screen-shot below, even though the license type configuration has default value as 'C50' it did not get pulled into the line item Documents tab when I tried to pick the category as 'CUII'.
Let me know your thoughts on defaulting the data into Customs declaration for AES filing.
What I want to achieve is the following:
When License type is 'EXCPT', system should default the type as 'C50'
Should put the License type 'EXCPT' into the number field
Should put the actual License# 'ENC' into the Supplement field
Should put the ECCN # '5A002' into the Details field

Not able to modify list of approver on when Shopping Cart is on Hold

Hi All
We are facing the following situation.
We are creating a new shopping cart and then putting it on Hold. If we open the shopping cart again ( the SC being on Hold), we are not able to add or change the app rovers in approval flow. But if we order the Shopping Cart and then open it back and try to add or change the approvers we are able to do this.
We are using BAdI BBP_CHNG_AGNT_GET to add or change approver and we are trying to debug this BADi to analyse the issue. But we are not able to catch what's happening when the SC is in Hold status. Is there any other method by which we can check in debugging what's happening in the BBP_CHNG_AGNT_GET with SC on Hold.
Any information in this regard is much appreciated.

You have got NullPointerException on Line1, what was this blob on line 1, I didn't very familar with java, but from my experience, we need to know the details of getMetadata(), about download blob file, I suggest you read this article:

Not able to modify Query

Hi,
I created a query in Development and tranported to Test and now I am trying to modify this query in Dev using Query Designer, it doesn't..
'Error: The query could not be saved due to problem in transport'
all my requests are released in Dev and transported to Test. I tried to delete this query using RSZDELTE but
"Query object is blocked. Deletion has been cancelled"

Thanks for the suggestion, I could modify it once I created a new request for this query using tranpost connection and I could able to delete also...
But I expected the query designer should prompt with a new request if the request doesn't exist (or) error message should be more clearer ... we had this feature before with Bex Analyzer !!!

Not able to import metadata using BI Admin tool

Hi folks,
I've installed OBIEE 11g server(Version 11.1.1.6.0) in my local machine which is lying on Windows 7 environment. Tried importing metadata(Oracle Database) using BI Admin tool, it throws "The Connection has failed" error.
I've copied TNSNAMES.ora file to the path D:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_BI1\network\admin and D:\Oracle\Middleware\oracle_common\network\admin(In D:\Oracle\Middleware\oracle_common\network, admin was not there, I've created a new folder with name admin and placed the TNSNAMES.ora file over there).
Have modified the user.cmd and bi_init.cmd files in the below path D:\Oracle\Middleware\instances\instance1\bifoundation\OracleBIApplication\coreapplication\setup
Any help would be appreciated

The problem was your tnsnames.ora file your not please in the right path.
Check this steps:
Copy the tnsnames.ora from Oracle Database home (ORACLE_HOME\NETWORK\ADMIN\) to the following locations.
Step 1 - <obiee11g_home>\OracleBI1\network\admin
Step 2 - <obiee11g_home>\oracle_common\network\admin
Set the TNS_ADMIN environment variable value with one of the copied locations in the step 1 in user.cmd or user.sh file depending on your OS.
This file will be found under <obiee11g_home>\instances\instance1\bifoundation\OracleBIApplication\coreapplication\setup
Solution:

HANA Live Authorization Assistant is not able maintain Analytics metadata with HANA Studio for SP9

Experts,
With HANA studio SPS9 upgrade, I can no longer see the option to maintain analytics metadata using Authorization Assistant tool for HANA Live views. Has anyone else encountered similar issue after the upgrade?

IPhoto not able to read metadata correctly?

I have posted a question similar to my current question in iPhoto 6 forum but I see some progress made in iPhoto '08, so I am stating my situation again, to get some insight into how iPhoto may be working with metadata.
I have about 50 video clips taken on a digital camera, which were not imported directly into iPhoto (6 or '08) from my camera, but instead they were imported earlier in Picasa on my PC and when I got my Mac, I simply transferred the .mov and .avi files over and imported them into iPhoto.
The problem I am seeing in iPhoto is that when I click on the clip, the info window shows the correct date of the clip, but the Events feature is unable to read that date and it seems to be reading/looking for some other date because the Events have the clips shuffled all over the place.
Of course the downstream effect of this problem is that in iMovie too, my clips are completely out of order with my video camcorder videos, and as a result, it is a pain now to re-organize them.
Knowing fully well that iPhoto has the capture date stored correctly somewhere in its database, how can I make the iPhoto library read the correct date instead of whatever date it is currently pulling?

Not able to modify the number of horizontal divisional lines in chart

I have inserted a chart using BI publisher. Currently there are 5 horizontal divisional lines and the y-axis values are divided accordingly. I want to change the number of horizontal divisional lines (maybe 7). I tried to use LocalRelationalData with RowKeyCount but it didn't work.

Rejetced line items can not be edited by requetser on the other hand approved items are appearing for in editable mode
Any one managed to get solution for the same ??

Seized Role but not able to Clear metadata via Command line

Hi All,
I have setup a lab in my home for practice and tried to demote a DC in my environment through command line , after transferring a Roles which was on the DC to other,
i tried below mention command to clean up metadata and remove a Selected DC.
1 Ntdsutil ,2 ntdsutil:roles,3 Fsmo maintenance: Connection,4 server connection: connect to server dc3.,5: server connection: quit,6: fsmo maintenance: Seize RID Master(Clicked YES),7: fsmo maintenance: Quit, 8 Ntdsutil: Quit
After seizing Roles i tried to clean up metadata, below are the step which i have taken to perform it
1ntdsutil, 2ntdsutil:metadata cleanup,3 metadata cleanup : connection,4 server connections: connect to server dc3,5 server connection : quit, 6 metadata cleanup: select operation target. , 7 select operation target :select domain 0,8 select operation
target: select sites 0, select operation target : select server 3 , 9 select operation target : Quit, 10 metadata cleanup: remove selected server
After reaching to the last step no 10. i received a error stating that to clean up the data please put server online.
Could anyone tell me what step did i missed as all the servers where online and roles was seize successfully, also would like to tell you all that once i go to Active directory sites and services and check the servers the default sites connection are lost
on DC1,DC2,DC3.
Please let me know the correct method to perform metadata cleanup.
Also let me know what other prerequisite should i take to perform apart from transferring roles and Global Catalog should be there on other DC

Hi Atul,
Metadata cleanup is a required procedure after a forced removal of Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS). Metadata cleanup removes data from AD DS that identifies a domain controller to the replication system.
We can clean up metadata by using GUI tools, command line, or a script.
Regarding how to clean up server metadata, the following article can be referred to as reference.

I'm not able to create a iphoto calendar with the correct birthday entries.

I use the latest Iphoto version and OS X 10.9.
I tried to create a calendar in iphoto that includes all birthday information of my family. Unfortunately I'm not able to do this.
I tried two differnt ways to get the information into the calendar.
First of all I' tried to use the option of the calendar to get the information of my contacts and it partly worked. Some dates were missing and I was not able to modify or add additional birthdays in the calendar. I checked my contacts and the information was there but not shown in the Iphoto Calendar.
Therefore I have to get the information into the calendar in a different way. For that I created a new calendar in ICal and created for each Birthday entries.
I select the option in the Iphoto calendar to show the new calendar in iPhoto. But the result was worse than with the first solution. Only few entries was shown in the calender.
Do anybody have an idea how can I solve this issue.

Do the birthdays (from Contacts) show correctly in the Calendar app? Sometimes there is a formatting problem with the date string in the Contacts. If the Birthdays do not show correctly in the Calendar.app, try to delete them from Contacs and enter them again, and check, if they now are showing correctly in Calendar. Quit both Contacts and Calendar.
Then restart iPhoto, and in the "Settings" for your Photo Calendar disable the Birthdays option, and then turn it on again.
Any changes you do to the birthdays in Contacts may only appear in iPhoto Calendars after Calendar or Contacts wrote their databases, and iPhoto will read these databases, when you enable the "Birthdays" option. Toggling this option on and off will ensure, that the new Contacs info will be read.

Not able to create Distribution Model nor Import using IDX2

Hello,
I have created an RFC destination, and i'm able to connect successfully also remote logon is working with error, i have also created Port associated in RFC destination.
But when i try to added a message type in distribution model, i get an error rfc destination not maintained.
Same goes with Import of metadata, i not able to maintain an Port in IDX1, hence not able to import metadata.
If i import an Idoc or create an external defination will it help.
any help would be appreciated.

I hope you have created RFC destination in PI system. What error do you see when you try to maintain port?
