Not able to open an older document in version 3.5
Since i have upgraded numbers to version 3.5 i am not able to open an older numbers-document. I get the message to get a newer numbers-version. What´s wrong?

ShrutiYou have a "NoClassDefFoundError", so a code snippet won't help.
XI Release 2 -> XI 3, then jar files have been renamed and object files refactored.
You've ended up with mixed XI Release 2 and XI 3 jars.
Remove your jars and re-add from XI 3.

PC users not able to open my TextEdit documents
I'm the secretary for a non profit org and when I try to send my minutes to other members (which I type up in TextEdit) they can't open them or they're in some garbled format. I have a Word 2004 test drive and when it expires I can buy it for around $300! Ouch! I thought when I purchased iWork with my computerI would be able to do documents with it and send them to my PC friends... no such luck? Any inexpensive answers?

You should have little trouble exchanging basic text documents with your Windows counterparts if you use TextEdit. How are you saving your documents? When you save the first time, are you saving as the default RTF document type or have you tried saving as a Word document (.doc)? In your "Save As" window, you should see a drop down menu called "File Format:" where you can choose Word format.
Be sure to stick with basic fonts such as Arial or Times. These are most likely to be on the Windows machines as well.

The way which i posted the question is not so clear.I want clarification in MS-Office word 2013.
I have opened the fresh word 2013 and working on the word to prepare some documents.
When i try to open the another saved word document it is overlapping one after another and the second word document showing blinking message and not able to open the second document.It is closing the second word document automatically.I can able to work
with only one opened document and not able to open multiple word documents at a same time.
The second question is How many word documents can be opened in a computer at a same time?Our work is based on word document only. some of the users are opening the different word documents in the same computer minimum six or seven word documents
and working on the same.
Suppose if we are opening and working with multiple word & excel file at a same time whether it will affect the system slow?

Addressing number that can be open at once...
This is a function of available RAM and hard drive space (although if you get into memory paging you really can slow down). It depends on the document size and also on processor speed. I have had 30 documents open at once. I often use Excel and Word at the
same time. The more you have open, the slower your system will be, although it may not be noticed until you push the limits.

We just discovered an issue where a user logs into a SharePoint site using Forms based authentication. When clicking on an Office file they get
'Sorry, this site hasn't been shared with you' message:
The user can download the file and can also open the file within the browser (Office Web apps). This SharePoint site is on a Web app that uses mixed authentication (forms for external partners) and Windows/Kerberos for internal employees.
When logging into this same site as an internal user I am able to open the file just fine.
I checked the 'Microsoft Document Connection' settings and selected and deselected 'Enable Basic Authentication' and neither helped.
I also tried to add the site URL under 'Microsoft Document Connection' -> Add connection -> Connect to a SharePoint site. When I put the site URL in and click 'Connect', I get an error saying that 'Only connection to SharePoint or OneDrive
servers are supported' message. If I try the same thing as an internal user using Windows/Kerberos authentication I am able to connect to the site just fine.

As you are using Form Based authentication to open the documents from SharePoint site, I recommend to check the things below:
Make sure that the user has permission to view the documents in the site.
Please select "Sign me in automatically" when you sign in the login page.

I'm not able to open documents saved from the internet. I'm using a macbook pro en Adobe Acrobat X 10.1.10. I tried: file - export als PDF and save as PDF, none of this works. I always receive a message stating an error and saying that I need to go back to the original file what I did without result. Does anyone have (or had) the same problem?

You need to take your machine to a local PC/Mac specialist and have them upgrade you to 10.6.8, create a backup plan etc.
iCloud is with 10.7+ only and for a 10.5 era machine I don't advise you to upgrade to 10.7, it's just going to have to pay a lot for all new versions of software on a older machine, some that are not even ready yet.

10.6 will run all your present software, 10.7 will not, perhaps a few.
10.6 freshly installed with upgraded versions of your software and your files returned will fix you up great until you can buy a new 10.8 machine likely released after this summer.

Office 2004 Applications Won't Work in Lion
You must have Office 2004 which is a PPC-only suite and will not work in Lion. You need to upgrade to Office 2011 - Mactopia - or you can try the freeware suite, Libre Office, that is functionally similar to Office 2007 for Windows except it works on Lion.

The first thing you need to do is remove that software according to the developer's instructions. Never install it, or anything like it, again. Then see below.

If you installed the Java runtime distributed by Apple and still need it, you'll have to reinstall it. The same goes for Xcode. All other data will be preserved.

I'm not able to open PDF files in Adobe Reader XI.
I recently updated to Adobe Reader XI and now I can't open any of my PDF documents or PDF e-mail attachments. When I click on a document I now get a window that asks if I want to allow this file to open. I click yes and get a monstrousity the likes I've never seen. It blacks out my screen for a couple seconds and then I get a mixture of my desktop, task bar, and a window wanting to know if I want to open this with Protected Mode disabled. It only fills 3/4 of the screen, the items all all blown-up in size, and are distorted. In playing with this I have gotten notes that I have an "Incompatable Application" and "Acrobat failed to connect to a DDS Server". On occasion I will get an Adobe Reader screen that is completely greyed out with no content in it and after a couple of seconds it goes off. Other times I got the window about Protected Mode and I've clicked on to disable it but that doesn't work either. I removed Adobe Reader XI and re-installed Adobe Reader X and I still have the same problem which I did not have before. I 'm running Windows 7 Professional and have McAfee anti-virus, which I have disbled on one occasion during download and that I still had the same problem. I went to program files to find the End User License Agreement and try to see if I needed to click on 'Accept" but it tells me the file does not exist. I even tried using System Restore to take me back to before I did the upgrade to Adobe Reader XI and I still have this problem. I'm at the end of my knowledge level and because these files are needed in my business I'm only able to operate at about 50%.
