Not able to print to local printer on someone else's machine

I have a user in our office who hooks up to the internet, but now has a new machine and did not hook up to our domain.  She uses Windows 8.1 and has a local printer for her advisors to use.  She used to be a part of the domain, and people(who are the domain) could print to her local printer.   Now that she is no longer part of the domain no can print to her and when you try to add her printer, it says access denied.   What's going on?

We have 7 computers on a local network 3 of them have local printers 2 and are brand new Vista equiped. we shared the local printers on the vista machines but they are unaccessable from one vista to the other... it works from an XP to a Vista, but not from a Vista to a Vista.... go figure.... When we try to add the printers, the error message that we get is: "windows cannot connect to the printer. the local print spooler service is not running. please restart the spooler or restart the machine."
    I would appreciate any help...
    Thank you

    This worked for me.  GP
Problem : error 1075 and Local print spooler service is not running.
problem description : I have a Lexmark x4270 all in one. I installed the driver for it in my new laptop running Vista. Turns out the driver is not for Vista but XP. I uninstalled the XP driver and downloaded a Vista driver from Lexmark. When I try to run the printer software I get a message "Local print spooler service is not running. Please restart the spooler or restart the machine." I tried all of that. I have looked this problem up on the web and it is quite common with Vista. Many of the "solutions" say it is a problem with an incomplete removal of the incorrect printer driver and they show how to correct in the registry. I am not comfortable tinkering with the registry and thought I'd consult with you first.
I tried "everything" I could to fix the problem of getting "error 1075" fixed in my HP laptop running Vista.  HP came up with simple solution below.  The regedit part is what fixed mine.  I did not need the safe mode part.  I think Lexmark should add the solution to your knowledge base.
    ==============================
From HP:  Please perform the below given steps in safe mode to resolve the issue.
Reboot your notebook and press F8. The system will show some booting options select safe mode.
Note: Starting computer in safe mode may take some time.
Uninstall the printer using Programs and Features from the control panel of your notebook.
Uninstalling any software from Control Panel :
    1. Click on Vista (start) button
    2. Click on control panel
    3. Double click on Programs and Features
    4. Click on YOUR Lexmark Printer  and click on remove.
Download and reinstall the printer software using the below given link :
    http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:438:0:0&searchLang=en&os_group=Windows%20Vista&target=
NOTE:  Clicking the link may give an error indicating it is invalid.
Copy and paste the entire link in a new browser window.
After the installation of drivers, restart the notebook into normal mode. Now plese check with printing any document. If the still persists then perform the below given steps :
Click on Vista (Start) button, and type Regedit.exe in search bar
    Navigate to the following branch
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \ Spooler
In the right-pane, double-click the DependOnService value
Delete the existing data, and then type RPCSS
    Close Regedit.exe
    Restart the computer.
    This should resolve the issue.

  • Exporting iphoto books for printing at local printing services

Does anybody know how to export an iphoto book for printing at local printing services, other than Apple printing services?
I tried to export, but the only option available was to "export to iDVD", which is not very helpful (does not generate a printable file).
    I'd appreciate any hints...

    Yanomami:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. What you want to
do is do a print to pdf. Then take the pdf file to
the printing service to be printed.
Thank you for the tip. One follow up question: does PDF file have the right photo quality/definition to print a book, or would it be better to export to a TIFF file or some other type? If so, how to export to TIFF then?
Thanks again for any help you can offer.

  • I am not able to open the pdf attachments that someone has sent me it comes up with a gray box saying adobe could not open they have sent it a few times in different ways but still can't open it i use windows 7

I am not able to open the pdf attachments that someone sent me it comes up with a gray box saying adobe cannot open?

Make sure the pdf has the '.pdf' extension on the file name. I've seen this a few times and adding the extension usually solves the problem.

I am facing issues with my music on my iOS device. I have five devices connected to my apple id. And out of which a Windows Machine and iPhone is not able to sync the purchased songs on the the Windows machine and the iPhone. The iPhone4 shows the songs are not supported and on the Windows Machine the songs do not play completely. Can anyone advice what could have gone wrong ? Because rest of the devices are synced to MacBook and they are able to sync the content normally.  I have even subscribed to iTunes Match but the problem is still not fixed.

    Firstly...  a little Clarity...
Devices refer to iDevices... iPod... iPhone... iPad. ..   Not Computers.

  • Unable to print to local Printer over RDP - Windows Server 2008

    Hi,
    Windows 2008 Foundation R2.
Started to have issues with printing to a Local printer over RDP.
The problems started on Friday 11th April. The only possible issue I can identify is that around that time LogMeIn was updated on the server, including the LMIPrinter DLL's.  I have contacted Logmein for instructions on how to uninstall LMI completely
and followed these but am still experiencing the problem.
When attempting a Test Page print the confirmation that the Test Print has been sent to is displayed and the print appears then disappears in the Print queue but nothing appears on the Local PC print queue or event logs.
    On the server the Event Log shows the following error;
The document Test Page, owned by admin, failed to print on printer Canon MG7100 series Printer (redirected 2/copy 1). Try to print the document again, or restart the print spooler.
Data type: RAW. Size of the spool file in bytes: 142691. Number of bytes printed: 0. Total number of pages in the document: 1. Number of pages printed: 0. Client computer: \\ONESTAGE-TS01. Win32 error code returned by the print processor: 2147500037. Unspecified
    error
I have searched for possible solutions to RDP printing problems and where relevant implemented them but no change.
I have access to a second customer who uses RDP and am able to log onto that and print to my local printer so am pretty sure there is nothing wrong with the local printer or settings.  On the Server with the problem the problem affects all RDP users
and all printers (including Adobe PDF printer and MS XPS printer).  All printers are defaulting to the EasyPrint Drivers.
Grasping at straws I think the LMI update has banjaxed something with the RDP remote printing and an LMI uninstall hasn't fixed it.  Is there a way to reinstall the RDP Printing?  Would uninstalling & reinstalling .NET have that effect?

    Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
What’s your client OS and RDP version in your environment?
First of all suggest you to run “sfc /scanow” with this link to check whether which file causing the issue. Check the RDP version on the RDP client computer as well as the .NET framework version with respect to the operating system used (as explained above).
Also verify that the RD Session Host / Terminal Server role is installed if the host computer is running Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows Server 2008.
The setting “Use Remote Desktop Easy Print printer driver first” must be set to “Enabled” for Easy Print redirection, and it has to be “Disabled” for Legacy Print. For “Not configured”, Easy Print is chosen by default.
Check The Remote Desktop Configuration Tool (tsconfig.msc) settings to ensure that the “Windows Printer” option is not disabled (it is not disabled by default).
Make sure that the “Printers” check box in the client (mstsc.exe) window on the “Local Resources” tab is checked. The corresponding setting in the associated RDP file is “redirectprinters:i:1”.

  • Network printer or local printer with terminal server

    Hello
We have a technical issue I believe on invoices we want Business One to automatically generate a printout document but nothing happens although settings are correct
The only thing I do not handle very well is we have busines one running on terminal server ad the printers are local
Can someone advise if automatic printout on local printers is possible with a terminal server ?
    thank you in advance

Sap Business One uses the windows printing architecture to print, so.. as long as you can print via windows on the terminal server, SB1 should be able to print it.
One thing to remember is, if you are using RDP, make sure you are using the latest RDP Client, I believe it's version 6.5 at the moment, but a check on windows update should confirm that.
If you want to print locally, you'll need the following to be true:
    1. Printer redirection box in the RDP Settings is ticked.
    2. The Policy on the terminal server, or terminal server gateway allows you to connect printers via RDP
    3. The drivers for your particular printer must be installed on the terminal server (One for your IT Dept).
If all those are met, you should then see, when you go to print, something like <Printer> on <workstaiton>, where printer is the name of your local printer, and the workstation is your local workstation ID.
With a bit of luck, you can then print.

  • Printing to local print device from WEBGUI

    Hi SAP expert
Got a question regarding WEBGUI priniting.
In SAPGUI when you select print to LOCL, it print to the PC default print device, but if we print via a WEBGUI screen, the printing output to a PDF file first, we can then print from the PDF file.
Is it possible to print from the WEBGUI without going through a PDF generation? or make WEBGUI understand the local print device?
Any help or suggestion will be most appreciated.
Edited by: Jim Boyden on Sep 4, 2008 7:49 AM

As far as i remember is not possible to print to LOCL from a webgui session (i can't remember exactly why)..
Try configuring your default printer as a network printer in SAP with method F or U and you'll be fine.

  • Printing on local printer using IPP

I have installed XML Publisher 6.5.2 on my local Windows XP Pro system and am trying to get the printer working using IPP. I made it available in Internet Information Server and am able to see the local shared printer when I navigate to http://19x.xx.xx.xx/printers.
What values do I have to enter in XML Publisher admin to get this working? I added the the url, but don't get a document printed. The local system uses a printserver from Deonet and I had to add a new custom TCP/IP printer port. Is it possible that this causes the problems?

Steven, did you get an answer to this question?
Please also respond to [email protected]

  • How to view .shtml files locally? I have added "Open in Browser" but still not able to see the local .shtml file.

I have added Open in browser add ons in Firefox browser, but still not able to see the .shtml files on local machine.
Can any one please tell me how to view .shtml files in Firefox?

SHTML files are regular HTML files that make use of Server-Side Includes. In some server configurations, the special file extension is required to instruct the server to parse the file for SSI code.
If Firefox doesn't recognize the file type, it is likely the MIME type is incorrect.
    Try this Addons

  • Cannot print on LOCAL printer, but only from one application server

    Hello guys,
we have a  case of user being unable to print directly on their own LOCAL printer from a certain application server. The status of their spool requests is stuck on "Waiting"/"Waiting for output formatter."
If the print request is started either from the central instance or another application server, then everything works fine and a special window where you can choose your real local printer appears at the end and the request is printed. In the case of that "strange" application server this window doesn't appear at all. It seems that the printer daemon (SAPLPD) won't even execute in the background.
The question is what can disturb SAPLPD of being properly triggered when the user fires a print out.. May be a certain port is blocked on our linux machine, where this application server (dialog instance) is running?
    Any other ideas?
    Many thanks,
    Polina

    hello Polina
As you said its LOC print ,you need to install SAPSprint service on printer host ,this will try establish communication wit
    app server .

  • Apex link not able to connect from local machine.

    Hi,
    Here is the scenario.
I have installed oracle apex 3.2 in my vmware linux machine.
I'm able to connect the link (http://b03apex.domain.com) from my linux(vmware) box but I'm not able to connect from windows local machine.
I tried to ping the ip, from both the ends are working but not sure why I'm not able to connect from windows local machine.
    local windows ip: 192.168.1.2
vmware Linux ip address : 192.168.1.3
Do I need to do add any parameters in the Apache logs to connect from windows local machine.?
    Need your suggestion.
    Thanks, Muhammed.

Can you ping the VM hostname from your Windows console (instead of IP address)?
Have you tried in your Windows browser the following URL (using IP address of the VM instead of the hostname)?
    http://192.168.1.3/
Have you checked that your browser is not configured to use a proxy server?
Have you checked your Windows firewall for allowing tcp web traffic to the virtual machine?
Have you checked for the same on on the virtual machine (firewall will be likely be done using <i>iptables</i>).

  • Print Logo Local Printing vs SWIN (Network Printing)

    Hi experts,
Hoping someone has experienced on this issue.
I've tried to add new printer LJ2105 PCL 6, with 2 approaches, shared printing & local printing.
For shared printing (PC share the installed printer)
    Devive type: SWIN
    Access method: S
    For local printing
    Device type: HPLJ4
    Access method: L
The shared printing results a good logo printout, but the local printing has blur logo printed. Please advice if you have some kind of experiences like this...
    Thanks!

    Hi Juan,
The shared printing method that I used is basically the same with printer server, I attach the printer to a PC, installed with the printer driver, and use SWIN as device type. It works fine.
The only problem (logo printed with dots background) is when I attached/install printer at OS level (local printing) and using some device types mentioned above....
    Thanks...

  • PrintToPrinter()  - Unable to Print to Local Printer on WebServer

    Dear All,
I am using Vs2010 Pro bundled with Crystal Reports 13.
When I deploy my Web application, and try to print to a Print installed locally on the Server through the report.PrintToPrinter() function, the Print Job appears on the pool and then it to hangs and timeout. When the print is done through a ReportViewer it works perfectly.
The print job appears on the printer's pool owned by ASPNET user. I believe I am facing some kind of authorization issue.
I've tried several Approaches, such as reinstallation of the CR Runtimes, and even authorization for the local asp.net account, but nothing seems to work.
    Source Code:
    'Load Report
                strPathAux = HttpContext.Current.Server.MapPath("Report.rpt")
                report.Load(strPathAux)
                report.PrintOptions.PrinterName = "Name of Printer"
                report.PrintToPrinter(1, False, 0, 0)

  • Printer - Different print from local print and local print - Why ?

    Hello,
I print a document developed by smartforms.
In this document there's a window with a gray color in background.
If I choose local_default_printer this color is showed.
If I print directly, choosing printer LP16 and not local_default_printer the whole windows is black !!
Why this error, this difference ? some parameters to set up on the spad ? what else ?
    thank you.

    Hi,
Generally all output devices have same divice type and  have the same kind of  behaviorwhich means that the the printers which have  different device type can give you different output.
So if you want the output for the same behaviour  printers it might happens with different kind of printers.
So it's better to test with different kind of printers (output device) which have been used previously with clear view.
    Thnaks,
    Abhijit
