Not able to re-install acrobat

I downloaded Acrobat X. Each time I opened Acrobat the program would crash. I decided to unistall my older copy of Acrobat and unistall Acrobat X. Then the plan is to re-install Acrobat X. However, Adobe Application Manager still  says that Acrobat X has been installed. Any idea on how I reset that so I can download Acrobat X again to see if can correct this crashing.
Running Mac OS 10.6
Thanks

On the Mac, in the applications folder are CS6 apps downloaded from Creative Cloud, and inside each products folder is that products uninstaller. That is the uninstaller I used the first time to remove Acrobat X Pro.
After removal by that means, Acrobat Application Manager was still verifying that my removed app was still installed. There was no way to reinstall (Acrobat).
What I was told by the chat tech I chatted with was to got to Applications > Utilities > Adobe Installers Which is from where he recomended I do all my uninstalls.
So, from there I clicked on Acrobat X Pro and followed the screen instructions.
When I then launched Adobe Application Manager, teh Install button next to Acrobat was active and I was able to reinstall Acrobat.
Because after removing a previous version of CS, my photoshop CS6 app was announcing a missing file and that I needed to uninstall and reinstall Photoshop - more an annoyance than an actual necssity since Photoshop CS6 was working fine despite the notification window alerting me to a missing file Photoshop needed to operate... Since the uninstall and reinstall of Acrobat went so well, I followed suit with Photoshop CS6, removing it from the Applications > Utilities > Adobe Installers folder. When I launched AAM, the install next to Photoshop was available. I downloaded it and intalled ... everything is working fine.

  • Not able to un/install java anymore

    Hi,
a power failure interrupted installation of jdk-6u18-windows-i586.exe.
I'm not able to uninstall, install or reinstall Java now.
It's asking the reinstall-question in an endless loop.
I'm really obset about those overcomplicated installations where
things are spread all over the computer. If anything failes it knocks
    out itself.
What do I have to delete to convince Java not beeing already installed?

You have one or more of the following things wrong:
Your installation file is corrupt -- solution, download a new one.
Your installation completed enough to let the installer see it already installed -- go to your Windows Control Panel and see if it is installed. If not, then just delete the local folders for Java.
Your registry is corrupt -- fun times. You have to manually edit your registry to remove the corrupt references to your Sun Java install.
Since you aborted the install with a power failure, you may have some temporary files in your C:/TEMP and C:/WINDOWS/TEMP folders--these folders should be empty at startup other than 1 or 2 files used by the system. Delete everything in those folder that will delete, then reboot and try again.
Hopefully it's just your install file--it's easily fixable by downloading a new one.
After trying all of these individually, except the registry edit--that is a last resort type of venture for most people, I check Control Panel and do the uninstall if one shows--to what ever extent it will function, then delete the folders for Java, then delete temporary files, then reboot. If I had not downloaded a new install file by this time, I do so, and then do the install.
If this does not work, then I do the system registry edit.
    Have fun.

  • I removed Photoshop Elements 9 and 10 from my laptop. It also removed parts of my version 12. I am not able to re-install verion 12. The install program keeps wanting to un-install version 12

I was cleaning up the programs on my hard drive and removed Photoshop Elements 9 and 10. I used Revo Uninstaller Pro to remove all the left over files and registry entries. Revo also removed parts of my version 12. I re-downloaded the demo version again as I already have the serial number. When I run the install program files my only choice is to remove version 12 and I'm not able to install

    Try this,
Run the cleaner tool. clean the product(if you see).
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
Then Rename/delete all the Adobe folders.
The locations are: 64 bit computer.
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe.
    32 bit computer.
    C:\Program Files \Common Files\Adobe.
    C:\ProgramData\Adobe.
You also have Adobe folders in :
    C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\Adobe
    C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Locallow\Adobe
    C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\OOBE
    Then Re-install the product.

  • Can not accept license after installing Acrobat Reader 8 and removing 6

    To whom it may concern,
after installing Acrobat Reader 8, removing Acrobat Reader 6, and starting Acrobat Reader 8 the license agreemnet window appeared as aspected. The problem is it displays everything as far as I can see correctly, but it is not working in any way. I have to close the windows by clicking on the white cross in the title bar. I then receive the message, that I did not accept the license and therefore Acrobat Reader will be closed. And that happens when I click ok.
Hopefully someone over here as a tip who I can proceed. Thanks in advance!
    Best regards,
    Jochen

    Dear Claudio and Shari,
Liam's suggestions have been of value for me. The Acrobat Reader is up and running.
    Thank's!
    @Shari
I'm using Firefox as well. An the tip and tool form Liam helped.
Just give it a try. The Explorer is used by Windows for more than a simple browser.

  • Not able to reinstall adobe acrobat 9 pro for mac

I have to reinstall adobe acrobat 9 pro for mac -- I had to reinstall the full CS5 package, and I had no issues reinstalling Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator from the original disks, but when I insert the AA9 Pro disk, it appears to download, and I'm able to open it, but as soon as I eject the disk, it disappears. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. (not sure this has anything to do with it, but the other CS5 disk in the suite package -- for indesign, photoshop and illustrator -- prompted me for my serial number and product code, but when I inserted the disk for AA9 Pro, that didn't happen.) Any suggestions?

There is some process for the CS version where you are supposed to open one of the other products and then complete the Acrobat install/activation. It seems a bit strange to someone like me without CS, but I have seen such several times. You might want to ask in the CS forum about the details. The details of the install is about all you may need to go to the CS forum for -- other Acrobat specific questions are fine here.
If you wait, it may be that other CS users will be by to help with the variations for that install.

  • Not able to activate my Acrobat X Pro

hello, i got my software from a licensed retailer in Singapore under Education as i am still in studying in a tertiary education institution.
After installing, i keep having pop-ups saying that i have not activated my program.
Since it is CS5.5 and i am connected to the internet, it should be avcivated.
in my adobe product page it is also stated that i've registered for this, but they do not seem to recognise the fact that its already activated.
    Please Help
    Problem: ActTypeA
    License:RET

I found a similar issue with CS4 and acrobat 9. The specifics might be different, but could you check if the general solutions listed help you arrive at a solution.
try the CS Cleaner tool. That'll probably help. Let us know if it helps.

  • Not able to properly install "Tools for Apache Cordova for Visual Studio 2013"

    Hi,
I am using visual studio 2013 ultimate running on a 64-bit windows 7 home premium.
When I tried to install the "Tools for Apache Cordova for Visual Studio 2013", the installation completed but showed the following error in the end. This is what the error says:
    "  Joyent Node.js
Invalid command line argument. Consult the Windows Installer SDK for detailed command line help.  "
I thought maybe windows phone SDK 8 is not installed on my pc.( as mentioned in the requirements here: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-in/library/dn757054.aspx). I tried to install the SDK, by choosing modify from the control panel (as
mentioned in the same link above), but it didn't show "Windows Phone SDK" on the list. And Microsoft says that you cannot install the SDK v8.0 on windows 7. Please help me with this.

    OK...
    1)  So, how do I write JavaScript code? There is only one option when I select JavaScript form the "New Project" window and that says "Blank App (Apache Cordova)". when I try to create one it shows all these errors:
" We've detected issues with your system's environment configuration
Apple iTunes - software is missing from your computer.
WebSocket4Net - software is missing from you computer. You may also have to configure it after installation."
    2)  I don't have iTunes on my computer. So, Is there a way to do it without installing iTunes?
    3)  And I've already installed the "WebSocket4Net", using both the "vs2013_mda0.3" setup and manually. But nothing worked. So what to do about it.?

  • Why is "New Tab Plus" now disabled and not able to be installed, and how can I get it back?

I had New Tab Plus and loved it for a very long time. I also love firefox and have a hard time going for any other browser. The addon was working just fine until today when I had to reformat my computer. I didnt bother to backup the addon's and Mozilla but only the bookmarks and New Tab Plus settings. When I returned I find that I cannot reinstall New Tab Plus because it was disabled my an admin... With no reason why, or no way to get it back. Why was it removed? Is it possible at all to get it back even if it takes using an older version of firefox?
    Thank you for your time.

I did default System restore to factory defaults without automatic backups because I had selectively backed up everything I thought was important to an external. I do not have nay remnants of the old Firefox profiles aside for my bookmarks.
Also they have an english site http://www.newtabplus.com/
It's just not updated to address the issue last time I checked.

  • Not able to uninstall or install Platform Services 6.1.3

I need to reinstall Platform Services 6.1.3 to my Windows 7 64.
Unfortunately during un-installation the PC was restarted, and now I'm not able to either install or uninstall it.
I don't see uninstall option in control panel or programs menu, and when I try to install from platformservices613654721_x86_64pc-win32.exe I'm getting error saying that I need to uninstall it first (platform services are installed and need to be uninstalled first)
I tried to remove all PlatformServices keys from registry - it didn't help, probably I didn't find the one to deceive the installer.
I tried system recovery - but it failed because wasn't able to access some files.
So, I'm stuck with this problem which looks simple at first.
Please, help me to remove Platform Services. Is there any option for FORCE uninstall or something? Any way to deceive that "great" installer?

  • Why am I not able to install snow leopard on a new hard drive for my macbook pro, which at one point was upgraded to Lion?

I've just had my hard drive go caput and after purchasing a new one was inclined to install snow leopard but received an error message when attempting to do so.
I did not create a back up or restore file before I decided to upgrade from snow leopard.
I'm wondering why am I not able to simply install snow leopard on a brand new hard drive.  What would clue it into me having had ran lion before and why can't I simply delete that kernel or said file.    It makes completely no sense to me.  I come from a pc world where if I choose to format a hard drive, I can do a clean install of whatever OS I choose.  After all I only paid for my laptop as should be able to do with it what I wish.
Any suggestions or insight would be greatly appreciated

    1.  Was Lion on the machine and trying to downgrade?
    2.  If so this might be an issue.  Newer machines are done for current OSX.
    3.  If you have Lion on your machine try to install Snow Leopard on another partition or portable HD
    4.  After you format and install SL on the other partition or drive Try to boot from this machine retarting and holding the Option key at boot up.
    5.  See if that work.
This is a trial and error way but Mountain Lion is right around the corner and Snow Leopard is 2+ yrs old.

  • Problems installing Acrobat X as part of CS6 upgrade

After upgrading to CS6 from CS5, my Acrobat Pro 9 stopped working - it would say that there is an error and shut down, each time I tried to open it.  I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling both Acrobat 9 and the CS6 upgrade.  Latest reinstallation of the CS6, installed everything except Acrobat X, which comes with the package...
    Any ideas?

Still not working.  I continue to get the error message that “Certain elements of or these products are not able to be installed” (translated from French).  In the following error log, it says (amongst other things) :
ERROR: Error 1310.Error writing to file: C:\Config.Msi\3a1e5a.rbf.   Verify that you have access to that directory.
ERROR: Install MSI payload failed with error: 1603 - Erreur irrécupérable lors de l’installation.
MSI Error message: Error 1310.Error writing to file: C:\Config.Msi\3a1e5a.rbf.   Verify that you have access to that directory.
ERROR: DW050: The following payload errors were found during install:
ERROR: DW050:  - Acrobat Professional: Install failed
When I was uninstalling previous versions of Acrobat and Reader, it had warned that it couldn’t access the file C:\Config.Msi\3a1e5a.rbf.  I did try running the Acrobat Cleaner Tool as you recommended, twice, restarting each time but still no luck.
    Any other suggestions?

  • How to Re-installing Acrobat Pro v7?

I am in the process of having to format and reinstall WIN XP on my desktop.  I'd like to load Acrobat v7 on anouther machine just in case I'm not able to recover from formating the drive and also so I'll have the program to use while I restoring the old computer.  I have 3 CDs.  Adobe Acrobat v4.0, Adobe Acrobat v6.0 Pro UPDATE and Adobe Acrobat 7.0v Pro UPDATE. How do I install?

    My re-installation problem is solved!
The information from the following link provided the solution.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/aam-lists-removed-apps-date.html
The title of the page, "CC desktop lists applications as 'Up to Date' when not installed", is a good description of my problem.  In my case, Adobe Acrobat XI Pro was listed as "Up to Date", even after I had uninstalled it.  So, CC desktop would not give me the option to re-install it.
This Adobe Help page gives 4 solutions.  I went through all 4, but my problem was not resolved until I performed Solution #4 -  which is to delete all traces of Adobe Creative Cloud using the "Adobe_Creative_Cloud_Cleaner_Tool" (see link below).  You can probably go straight to #4, but I didn't try that.
After I applied the CC Cleaner Tool, I re-installed CC Desktop App, and I was then able to re-install Acrobat Pro, along with other CC apps.
    I hope that this helps.
Here is the link to the CC Cleaner Tool (this link is also on the above-mentioned Help page):
