• Oracle FileSync: not able to find the Oracle Web Server

Hi,
I am having the OCS 10.1.2.3.0 on a Linux server. I am not able to create a mapping in the Oracle FileSync
While Adding a mapping in the Web Server mapping wizard
the http://<server>:<port>/<DAVRoot> i have given as per my server settings as http://server.domain.com:7778/content/dav
but it is showing the error as
The URL you have entered is not a valid Oracle web server
Is this because of the Web Listener is not running in the server.. How to clarify this..?

Hi Arnaud,
Yes , Oracle FileSync is a separate tool that can be used to Map folders in the web server and synchronize the files
The issue is when i was trying to create a mapping, it ask for the Web Server URL for the first time
its format is http://<webserver>:<port>/<DAVROOT>
when I tried with my OCS server : server.domain.com
Port: 7778
DAVROOT: cmsdk/content or content/dav
its showing that the WebServer you entered in the URL is not a valid Web Server
NB: **** I am facing the same issue with the Oracle Messenger also..
-- How can i verify that the Oracle Web Server is up in Linux and the Web Port that is listening..?

i want to expose data from share point through a webservice and use that webservice as a data source in Bi Publisher. But i am not able to use the webservice directly since it is a external web service.
But i am not able to use the webservice directly since it is a external web service.
why?
look at "Creating a BI Publisher Report Based on External Web Services" ExternalWebServices
For that i made below config changes. But it is causing weblogic server starting issues.
why do you want to change some weblogic server settings?

• Lync internal / external web services FQDN

I have a Standard edition 2013 FE server
Should my internal/external web services url in DNS point to my FE internal IP or my Reverse proxy public IP?
For mobility it says it should point to the external IP but for address book updates etc surely I want my internal windows clients using the FE pool directly?
I am unable to differ them on 2013 standard edition...
***Don't forget to mark helpful or answer***

The external web services works in conjunction with a reverse proxy in the perimeter network. It provides clients external access to by using these web services. The FQDNs configured here are sent to clients when they log on, and are used to make an HTTPS
connection back to the reverse proxy when connecting remotely. The reverse-proxy server forwards the external web service FQDN to an internal hardware load balancer, or directly to the pool. The reverse proxy must be able to resolve the external web services
FQDN to the IP address of the internal Web server. The external web services FDQN must be resolvable in the public Internet.
If your internal server is a Standard Edition server, the internal FQDN is the Standard Edition server FQDN. If your internal server is a Front End pool, the FQDN is a hardware load balancer virtual IP (VIP) that load balances the internal web farm servers.
A hardware load balancer is required in a Front End pool with more than one Enterprise Edition server. A load balancer is not required for a Standard Edition server or a single Enterprise Edition Front End Server.

• External Web Service setting for Supplier Registration ROS to EBP

Dear guys,
We are working on Supplier registration scenario where potential supplier are accepted in ROS client and then transferred to EBP via Suppliers Directory.
For this we have defined External Web Service in both clients ROS and EBP
Can anyone tell me what are the Parameters and setting required to define External Web Service?
We have created New Web Service with following parameters in both the clients ROS and EBP.
Web Service ID                     : ROS
Description : Suppliers Directory in ROS Client
Bus. Type of Web Service : Lost of Vendors
Display Partners Data Again in Vendor List : X
Vendor Root Node                     : 50000620
Use Error Log                         : X
Use HTTP GET to call Web Service : <blank>
Codepage of Service                    : <blank>
Technical Type of Service : <blank>
Logical system : SRDCLNT300 (EBP Logical system)
Path for Symbol for Service : <blank>
Define Standard Call Structure with following Parameters
1        <blank>     http://erpdevsrci.egat.co.th:8010/sap/bc/bsp/sap/ros_prescreen/main.do
URL
2        HOOK_URL      <blank>     Return URL
Please correct us.
With this setting system does display the Suppliers Directory option in Supplier Screening (Suppliers Directory in ROS Client), however after selecting suppliers directory instead of listing the accepted supplier to transfer to EBP, system displays the same suppliers Prescreen again with no option to transfer accepted supplier to EBP client.
I think I have not set the External Web services setting properly ..
So can anyone send me the correct web service parameter setting?
Regards,
Sandeep parab

Ramki/disha,
I have defined following setting in external web services in EBP client
Web Service ID    : ROS
Description: External Web Service in EBP
Bus Type of a Web service : List of Vendors
Display Partner Data again in Vendor List : X
Vendor Root Node : 50000620 (this is Vensor Root node in EBP client)
Use Error Log : X
Use HTTP GET to call Web Service : <blank>
Codepage of Service: <blank>
Techinical type of Service : <Blank>
Logical system : SRDCLNT310 (this is ROs client from there supplier will be transfered)
Path for symbol for service : <blank>
Standard Call Structure Parameter setting as follows
1. <blank> http://....ros_prescreen/main.do  URL
2. sap-client 310 fixed_value
3. sap-username dineshp fixed_value
4. sap-password GAJANAN fixed_value
5. HOOK_URL <blank> Return_URL
6. ~OkCode ADDI fixed_value
7. ~target top fixedvalue
8. ~caller CTLG fixed_value
Also defined ROS external web service as default CAT attribute in the organization setting.
Maintained ROS client in SAP_BBP_STAL_STRAT_PURCHASER role.
Created New Users in ROS as well as EBP and tried the scenario. still it failed to transfer the supplier from Ros to EBP.
Where can we debug the error message?
Regards,
Sandeep

• Consuming an External Web Service using HTTPS and WS Security

Hello everyone,
I'm having a problem setting the security information in a SOAP header using a generated ABAP Client Proxy to consume an external web service that requires a User ID and Password in the Header section of the SOAP message. I need to use HTTPS. I'm on a WAS 7.01 SP08 system so from my readings, SAP is supposed to be able to add the username and password into the header section of the message. I can't seem to get SAP to add this information added to the header.
Here are the steps that I have taken to set the security values.
1) Created the client proxy from the WSDL in SE80. Basic Authentication on the Configuration tab was turned on automatically.
Note, Transport Security is set to None. I cannot change it.
2) Created an outbound set user name profile in transaction WSPROFILE with the appropriate username and password.
3) Added the profile to the default port in transaction LPCONFIG as an outbound under the WS Security section of the screen.
When I called the external Web Service, I got back the following error message:
com.ibm.wsspi.wssecurity.SoapSecurityException: WSEC5509E: A security token whose type is [http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-username-token-profile-1.0#UsernameToken] is required.
So, after reading through this Forum, I saw that I needed to use the SOAMANAGER. I set up a Proxy in the SOAMANAGER and manually created the Logical Port. This was the only way I could figure out how to set the Authentication Settings in the Logical Port to "User ID / Password". I then entered the User ID and Password.
However, I am still getting the same error message. I feel I am close but missing some small configuration to tell SAP to use WS Security with a Username token.
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Stephen

I had this error again so I thought I would post my solution:
The issue is SAP needs to know the certificates being used by the web site being called. These certificates are automatically installed in your browser but need to be manually installed in SAP. This is what I did:
How to find/install new certificates
Make sure you run Internet Explorer as an Administrator so you can export the certificates
Go to the web site that SAP is trying to call in Internet Explorer
Double click on the lock in the address bar
View certificates
Find the certificates that are being used
Tools --> Internet Options --> Content --> Certificates
Click on the “Trusted Root Certification Authorities” tab
Find the certificate identified in step iii
Export as a CER certificate
Click on the “Intermediate Certification Authorities” tab
Find the certificate identified in step iii
Export as a CER certificate
Go to STRUST in SAP
Import the Certificates in the “Anonymous” or “Standard” SSL client
Save
RESTART the ICM via t-code SMICM <-- Critical!!!

• Initiating BPM Process Instances from External Web Service Call

I'm attempting to update the HelloWorld example so that I can create an instance of the process from an External Web Services Call rather than via the Workspace. Our current SOA Architecture is configured so that all BPM instances are managed through a .NET SmartClient via the Service Bus and the use of PAPI W/S and so I'm wishing to recreate this capability in the new BPM.
I understand the replacement for PAPI W/S is Human Workflow so I've therefore updated and republished the HelloWorld Example with an Exposed 'TaskService' Service for the Human Task within the BPM Process.
I've then attempted to reference the TaskService through our existing BPM, and have been able to import a number of generic WSDL's as follows:
Task Service
http://vmaquatestapp2:7001/integration/services/TaskService/TaskServicePort?WSDL
Task Metadata Service
http://vmaquatestapp2:7001/integration/services/TaskMetadataService/TaskMetadataServicePort?WSDL
Task Query Service
http://vmaquatestapp2:7001/integration/services/TaskQueryService/TaskQueryService?WSDL
When I examine the available operations for these generic services, there are quite a lot, each of which have a fairly complex schema. I believe I should be using the TaskService: InitiateTask Operation to create an instance of my BPM Process but my questions are:
- Is the above the correct method of interacting with BPM Instances from an external system such as the Service Bus?
- Does anyone have any examples of a basic XML payload that would initiate a process instance?

I created an process with a message start event and can call it from an external web service call. I can also pass input arguments and map those to process data objects. However I can not find how to return data as response to the external web service call as e.g. the process instance id.
Is it possible to this?

• Calling external Web Service: PI is looking for a logical port and proxy.

Hi,
My scenario is ECC Proxy -> PI -> External Webservice (WS adapter).
the Web service adapter fails with the error message:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
- <!--  Call Adapter
-->
- <SAP:Error xmlns:SAP="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Message/30" xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" SOAP:mustUnderstand="">
<SAP:Category>XIServer</SAP:Category>
<SAP:Code area="INTERNAL">WS_ADAPTER_SYS_ERROR</SAP:Code>
<SAP:P1 />
<SAP:P2 />
<SAP:P3 />
<SAP:P4 />
<SAP:AdditionalText />
<SAP:Stack>System error while calling Web service adapter: Error when initializing SOAP client application: 'error_text'</SAP:Stack>
<SAP:Retry>M</SAP:Retry>
</SAP:Error>
When I debug the message processing, it is looking for a port in table SSRVRTCONFIG, finds it(entry created automatically when WS adapter and the corresponding receiver agreement is activated in ID.
Then the program looks for an entry in "SRT_CFG_CLI_ASGN" for a proxy and logical port combination and errors out.
to be able to call an external web service, do we need a proxy to be created? I tried to create but the proxy creation fails because the external WSDL has some unsupported tags.
Also do we need to do any other configuration in SOAMANAGER? I am assuming not because the Web service is external.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Vijay

I already checked that note and made sure that the points mentioned are met. I have a trace set up on the target system and would know if the call reaches them and then fails in authorization. Right now the call doesnt even reach the target system and also from debugging I know that the program is looking for a proxy and then fails.

• Error when calling an external web service (blank soap action)

I did a lot of searching on this message and did not find an answer. Most of the issues i found related to XI/PI, which we are not using.
There is a web service created outside of SAP for which i generated (from the WSDL) a proxy class in my DEV system, client 050, a few years ago. This was subsequently moved to QA and production, and all is working fine.
Now, i want the same web service to work in client 100. I created the logical port, and the RFC destination, but when i try to call the web service, i get the following error
Server did not recognize the value of HTTP Header SOAPAction
Since only the basis group around here can access the logical port definition,and rfc destination, i have no idea where this information should be set up. I should not have to reimport the WSDL, since the proxy was imported from DEV to QA and it is working in QA client 050. There is something i need to set up, specific to client 100, and i am missing it. I looked in SOAMANAGER, and i didnt see anything even set up there for client 050, so i did set up anything for client 100.
Any help would be appreciated.

I tried adding the web reference in a console app and works fine. In the plugins this can't be done, because the plugins are deploy in database.
I tried another basic test using ChannelFactory. Only want to retrieve some entity through the external web services:
IPluginExecutionContext context = localContext.PluginExecutionContext;
IOrganizationService service = localContext.OrganizationService;
ITracingService tracer = localContext.TracingService;
try
BasicHttpBinding binding = new BasicHttpBinding();
binding.Name = "BasicHttpBinding_IAxxisWcfServices";
binding.Security.Mode = BasicHttpSecurityMode.None;
binding.Security.Transport.ProxyCredentialType = HttpProxyCredentialType.None;
binding.Security.Transport.ClientCredentialType = HttpClientCredentialType.None;
EndpointAddress endpoint = new EndpointAddress(@"http://*****.svc");
ChannelFactory<IAxxisWcfServices> factory = new ChannelFactory<IAxxisWcfServices>(binding, endpoint);
IAxxisWcfServices channel = factory.CreateChannel();
var entity = channel.FindByEntities(new CRM.Application.Context.Dtos.Asegurado( { CrmGuid = "7C3E96C6-C3BC-E411-80DF-0A736AE14667" }, null, new CRM.Framework.Session() { User = "***", Password = "***" });
catch (Exception ex)
throw new InvalidPluginExecutionException(ex.Message);
That test threw the following exception on the GenericParameterAttributes of channelType of factory object:

• Invoking an external web service through a JCD with Basic Authentication

Group,
I am trying to invoke an external web service (written in ASP.Net) from a jcd (5.1.2). The web service is guarded by Basic Authentication. I have entered the crudentials into the External Web service environment component and deployed the project. I receive the following error from the .invoke() method:
request requires HTTP authentication: Unauthorized
I have tried the same request through SoapUI using the same crudentials and get back the response correctly. Has anyone tried invoking an external web service with basic authentication through a jcd in 5.1.2 before?
One other item of note. I have another jcd calling a different external web service deployed on the same domain. I hope that this isn't interfering with the execution of this service as it doesn't require any crudentials to execute.

Hey Chris.
I am just starting to write a jcd that calls an external web service but cannot find any sample code nor instructions on how to do it in the supplied documentation. Could you send me a code sample from your one?
Cheers

• Is it possible to call an external web service using ABAP?

Hi~~
I wonder that is possible to use an external web service in SAPGUI using ABAP without PI ( Process Integraion ).
The external web service means the service that is developed by web-language like ASP.NET.
Thank you.

hi,
i'm trying to study on how to use the oracle bi publisher using another client application aside from oracle. the client application is custom and uses a .Net framework. unfortunately, i am not familiar with how .Net sends requests to oracle bi publisher so i was thinking that may be i can just create oracle pl/sql stored procedures that can send this requests over to bi publisher.
p.s. when you said concurrent manager, i'm not sure if you are referring to oracle apps concurrent manager but if you are, unfortunately i won't be using oracle apps with bi publisher.
thanks

• External web service problem

I am using CAPS 5.1.2 and I want to use an external webservice.
Importing the external web service from URL or file goes fine.
I decided to do this in a JCD and added the webservice as an OTD.
Building and deployment of my project goes fine, but the server.log gives me the following SEVERE log message:

I have validated the external web service with the "Web Service Definition Editor" and it validates OK.
I am a little bit lost here and do not know where to start debugging this problem. Please help.

• Issue with calling an external web service using web service proxy

Hi,
I've created several web services using JDeveloper succesfully in the past, however I'm getting an issue with one that was working ok previously. Have spoken to the developers of the external web service and they say they haven't changed anything. Also if I test the external web service through soapUI for example it seems fine so it would seem that the issue is with the autogenerated code created by JDeveloper.
Basically I get the following exception as it sends the request to the external service:
java.security.PrivilegedActionException: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: Message send failed: Bad Authentication header format: 'Basic realm="Integration Server" encoding="UTF-8"'
Expected "," at position 33
The user name/password appear correct.
JDev version 10.1.3.42.70
Any ideas?
Many Thanks

Found the answer. Basically I had one proxy web service working and one not both linking to a middle tier written in web methods. THe issue actually ended up being with the web methods code in that the one web service (that was not working) was put together using a backwards compatability mode. Once this was switched back then started working again in JDev.
