Not able to set up yahoo mail account : N8

I bought N8 just few days back.
I can able to set up Gmail account but not able to set up yahoo account.
It shows error:
Unable to connect with information provided. Try again ...
Please help..

I think you require a plus account to download mail to an email client incl a mobile phone, saying that though last year if you're in the UK you could download Yahoo mail without a plus account & I still do even though the Yahoo help pages say I require a paid account.
It may be that your username & password are incorrect or the settings are,
Here's what I have:
pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk, port 995, SSL on.
smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk port 465, SSL on.
Username is the usual - bit before the @.
Passwords might be case sensitive.

Kind of resolved it. I just installed Mail 1.3.1-- downgraded from 3.2 and NOW - with all same pref settings and connection smtps, etc-- and NOW I can send and receive .mac emails and other email accounts.
So that is the key-- the glitch is in the new versions of Mac Mail. So that problem is NOT solved. You can go online to "mac freeware" google'd and then search for "Mac Mail 1.3.1" and get it for free to download.

The default way it used to work (before Mission Control) was that when a display went missing, all the Application windows on the missing display were moved toward the center of the remaining desktop, so that at least some portion of each window was visible on the main display. Then you could drag them where you liked.
If you have worked hard to configure Mission Control to give each display a separate space, and put all the Windows stuff in a space on the now-missing display, you will have to change settings in Mission Control to get the contents of that space back on the main display.

Go into the settings, mail, contacts and calendars and delete your yahoo account info. Exit out, go back in and re-enter your mail info. Sometimes things get messed up and the easiest way to fix it is just to start over. You will have to redownload your mail but you shouldn't lose anything. I've had to do this with my yahoo mail a few times.

Can't Set Up Yahoo Mail Account

I have a @yahoo.com.au account and keep getting an error when trying to set it up using the Yahoo! Mail setup on the mail app. It keeps saying the username or password for "imap.apple.mail.yahoo.com".
I tried setting it up manually using POP, but while it can at least receive emails, it can't send!
Does anyone have a way of fixing either of these problems?

Login to your Yahoo account on your computer to make sure the password is correct.
Does the password or Yahoo! ID have any special characters? Mobile devices can experience compatibility limits with passwords that contain special characters. If your password contains any special characters you can always log on to a computer and change your Yahoo password so to something that's more compatible.

Download the yahoo email app, if you already deleted and reinstalled the email account and still have issue.
This is a known issue with Yahoo email account.

When I click on an e-mail address Mail does come up as my default mail program. How can I change that back to Yahoo using Safari? I've asked that question of Yahoo, but they just tell me to use Firefox, which I do not want to do. I like Safari and will simply fight the Mail program back if I have to. There must be a way to get it under control though - I hope.
I do use Mail to back up notes from my iPhone. It does work for that just fine.

Here is Mail getting in the way again. I appreciate your information, I downloaded Notifier and got to the point of above, needing to go to preferences in Mail. Mail will not let me go to preferences unless I give Mail an e-maill account to service. I do not want Mail to service an account. Mail is a nasty obtrusive program that wants to be in the driver's seat of my computer system. If I give Mail my gmail account set up again, using that italian program that also is a hack to my system, I will need to do that just to access Mail preferences so I can tell Mail that it is okay to use Gmail?
Something is fishy in Denmark to be sure.
I'm going to delete Notifier.app until I am able to see what gives with Mail.

Later post, I think this post has also taken it that I want to use Mail, Read my many statements, over a dozen by now, that I do not want to use Mail. I want to compose my outgoing mail in GMail. I want GMail to be my default mail program. I wan Apple Mail to Die! (at this point, that seems impossible to accomplish.)
It's simple, but I will repeat and repeat. I simply want to be able to click on a link, like a link in Craigslist to respond to an ad, and have the GMail compose e-mail come up ready to respond to the Craigslist ad.

EVen more frustration now, I tried the notifier icon in the menu bar and selected compose mail and it tried to open up Apple Mail. How can I get rid of Apple Mail and let my system know that I want the GMail account to come up to compose my email in GMail (what I was trying to do with Yahoo until I got nowhere with Yahoo, now I'm trying to see if I can get GMail to work as my default mail program.

When setting up you email, do not click on the Yahoo! Use "Other" and follow the promps. Use imap.mail.yahoo.com as your Incoming Mail Server, and smtp.mail.yahoo.com as your Outgoing Mail Server.

Need Help Setting Up Chattermail with AT&T Yahoo Mail Account

Ok... so I've spent half the day trying every possible permutation of my login, server name etc and I STILL can't get Chattermail to successfully log in.
This is a paid Yahoo mail account. The servers I succesfully use for my older 700w were: incoming: pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com, outgoing: smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com
I'm confused by the set up in chattermail. It doesn't have the servers marked as "outgoing" and "incoming" I've put the incoming server name in the "define" tab and the outgoing in the "smtp" tab.
I've tried both my entire email address and just the part before the "@" as my login. I also have the ssl boxes checked because my system seems to be using those.
I cannot get it to work. Does anyone have any ideas?

Iphone 5...trouble setting up mutiple Yahoo mail accounts

The Iphone 5 allowed me to set up 1 Yahoo mail account.
When I tried to set up the secound it responds: "Yahoo sever unavailable".
I am able to leave the setup, go to Safari, find Yahoo mail and sign in....so the server is up and running....there is something about the Iphone.
any ideas?

Strange. I am also having problems setting up yahoo mail because I changed my password. Everything was working before I did that. There has been a yahoo problem on my iphone ever since I've had it. The mail app is so darn slow. Yahoo does have an app you can download and then drag it down onto the main dock at the bottom of your screen. That's what I did until someone responds with a possible solution. I also just emailed yahoo to let them know of the problem. Like that matters! LOL! I've emailed them before about this and it takes them weeks to get back to me. So ridiculous!
