Not able to start i-tunes when my i-pod is plugged in ..

When I plug in my i-pod in the USB 2.0 port windows displays a dialog box (whether I do this before or after the computer is turned on):
Windows - No disk
There is no disk. Please insert disk.
When this box appears i-tunes can't start - and hence I cannot connect to the i-pod. (And if i-tunes was started before the i-pod was plugged in, the programme freezes).
I just got a new computer, the recent versions of i-tunes and i-pod software are installed.
I have absolute no clue what to do. I've tried to reinstall i-tunes, but this didn't help.
Any suggestions?

hmmmmmm. it's plausible that you might be getting a weird version of this issue:
Windows confuses iPod with network drive and may keep iPod from mounting or songs may seem to disappear
(let's at least try to get the possibility off the table.)

    Close iTunes. Click the icon to launch iTunes and immediately press and hold down the left shift key. Keep holding until prompted to choose or create a library. If iTunes opens normally, close it,  and try again.

  • U410: Not able to Start Windows 8 when booting

    Hello,
    When I start my Lenovo U410 the Lenovo sign and the loading circle appears like under normal conditions.
    But then, when the sign disappears, nothing is happening.
    Windows won't start and I only habe the light up screen with nothing on ist, turning off after several seconds.
    Can anyone help me with this Problem?

    try to Interrupt the loading of Windows 8 to enter push-button reset mode (this is like a recovery environment to restore the pc fromr previous working state). To do this, hold the power button while Windows 8 is loading up (you need to do this twice). If successful, you'll see this screen:
    Click on Troubleshoot and from here, you can:
    4a. boot into Safe Mode, If everything's ok, try to restart the computer in normal mode and observe
    4b. do a System Restore to undo the changes

  • HT201210 I am not able to start my iPod. In itunes when I try to restore my ipod it throws an Error 1601..please help!

    my ipod stopped working and I am not able to start it. When I connect it to my computer and start itunes, it ask me to restore the device but that too gives an error (1601). I have tried the recommended soln but that didnt help.

  • Not able to start Integrated Weblogic server

    Hi All,
    I have installed Jdeveloper & Weblogic server in my system. I am able to deploy my SOA peojects in em console. But when i try to run a JSF project , it is throwing an error message like not able to start Integrated Weblogic Server. And Could not read old style optfile from D:\OracleOSB\Middleware\oracle_common\modules\oracle.jrf_11.1.1\jrocket_optfile.txt. I dont have my middleware in D:\OracleOSB\Middleware, But i have created the Middleware home in D:\Oracle\Middleware.
    I reinstalled SOA sutie, Jdeveloper & Weblogic server but stilll then i am getting the same error when i try to start Integrated Weblogic server. Please find below the error message:

  • Not able to start PIA

    hi gurus, i am not able to start my PIA. i am able to boot the app server successfully but i think there is some issue with the webserver. this is the URL of my PIA http://DELL-PC:80/psp/CPDMO/?cmd=login
    when i am trying to open the link to check websever (http://DELL-PC), it does not work. plus i am also not sure whether the port number 80 is correct. would you please also suggest me where all i can get this port number to verify?

  • Not able to start the NW04 CI instance.

    Hi All,
       I installed NW04 JAVA with EP 6.0 on Windows 2003 SP1 with MS SQL. I configured SCS and CI to run on Virtual hosts SAPENQ01 and SAPJ2EE respectively for HA. I have two node cluster. When I start CI and SCS on same host they started just fine and everything is working. I switched the SCS instance group to second node and tried to start the CI instnce on first node. The CI is not able to start.
        I tried starting CI manually also ... bust it just gives message on command line saying "STARTSAP continues ... ". No logs are created. It never starts jcontrol.exe process. And also when I see SAP MMC ... it is not showing SAP instances there.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    Did you adjust the profile files of the Web AS so that they use the virtual host names (wherever host names are used), not the real host names. For example, if the host name of the message server in the profile is the real hostname of the machine, after the switchover connection to message server would not be possible.
    In addition, you would also have to check the DB connection settings (through the config tool) and make sure the virtual hostnames are used there too.

    P.S. the logs of the startsap are generated in the \usr\sap\<SID>\SCS<nr>\work\sapstart.log.

    Hi All,
    I am having exactly the same problem with the same stack trace. Has anybody have an idea how to fix this?
    I have downloaded the Java Identity Management Suite.(java_es-5-identsuite-ga-windows-x86.zip) The first time installation was fine and I was able to bring the Access Manager console. I was able to create users groups etc.
    However, when I uninstalled and installed it again, I got exactly the same error described in the thread. Running "amserver start" and "amserver restart" did not help. I did the installation one more time
    but again I got the same error.

    I will suggest you few checklist :
    1. See permissions in the security sub-directory.If its wrong  it will be impossible for the Java Runtime to read the
    security policy files.
    2. temp directory not set.setting in enviroment variable
    3. http://hostname:4239/ua/uagui.jnlp .try opening with this URL
    4 Could you please check the proxy settings for your Java Webstart? It should be configured in a way that either mentioned host is contained in the list of
    hosts which are not connected via proxy or usage of proxies is switched
    off completely.
    Let me know about the same.

  • Not able to start video capture

    Hello, I have a  Motorola Droid Ultra and ever since the android kit-kat update my phone is unable to record videos. Which effects my apps (ex. SnapChat , Instagram , Facebook) from recording.Whenever I try to record it say's "Not able to start video capture". I am able to take pictures by the way. 
    P.S. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    That sounds like the camera bug,  I think these phones were hit with in one of the updates,  my Droid Maxx has been immune of it,  because I've kept it on Jelly Bean I don't have the camera features that many have with K.Kat but until I see allot of improvement and no issues..  I'll keep her on Jelly Bean..  Sorry your having this issues..  it's the berries when you have to deal with issues as we've seen..

  • Not able to start OID 11g

    Hi Everyone,
    All of a sudden I am not able to start ODS instance that includes (OID and OVD). I can see OVD process is up but not OID. DB and listeners are up and running.
    Any quick thoughts ?

    Yes, that is the issue. Even though message says it is about to expire, it can not start OID. The reason is, when oidmon process tries to establish a connection to databased it expects the response "success" status. For oidmon process ,any message other than "success" is failure.
    Try below:
    1. Stop all components with opmnctl.
    2. Reset OID schema passwords and make their passwords never to expire.
    3. Start all opmn compnents.

  • Not able to start EPM Architect Process Manager.

    I have installed Hyperion 11.1.1.3 and when i am trying to start the EPM Architect Process Manager Service i am getting the below error message.
    The Hyperion EPM Architect - ProcessManager service on local Computer started and then stopped
    Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the performance Logs and Alerts Service.
    I have also checked the Event Viewer and the below is what is logged into the event viewer.

    Hello, I have found the solution in my environment.
    All Hyperion softwares will run on a x64 bit OS with x64 bit Oraclle client installed except FDM. I tried to run everything through Oracle x32 bit client and everything worked except EPMA, I received errors in the eventvwr that stated it could not run against a x32 bit Client. On my FDM server (w2k3 x64 bit) I had to install Oracle x32 bit client in order for me to get my FDM server fully functional.

    I am working on ODI 11g (11.1.1.5), and have created master and work repostiories on my laptop successfully.
    After follwoing instruction to update odiparam file with the password created using encode cammand, and specifying all the other paramaeters appropriately as per the instcutions to install the localagent, when I execute follwoing command from command promt;

    I am able to connect to snpm1 schema in oracle, so why is the local agent getting issue, is there any problem withe the driver specified?

  • Not able to Start the oracle db error "ORA-01031: insufficient privileges"

    Hi experts,
    I have oracle 11g setup on so solaris. i changed the db_cache_size
    & processes values and stopped the DB services after that i am not able to start the oracle DB. Listener is running.
    when i start the db server its giving the below error(startup.log)

    Hi,
    It seems that jar files for IR has not been imported into your local machine and that is the reason it is not opening. What happens when you click on IR is, it just connect to your server and imports the neccessary jar files to your local machine but some time if system is very busy then the connection breaks, so in this case you may have to click many times on IR so that all jar fils will be imported on your local machine. The percentage of jar files imported will be displayed at the time of import and at the same time if conncetion goes down then next time it starts from the point where it got disconnected (not from the starting). I guess this is the problem.
