Not able to turnoff fencing in Solaris 10 cluster

I Have configured 2 node sun Solaris 10 cluster. Cluster setup was completed but ended up with below errors (Not able to turnoff fencing in Solaris 10 cluster cluster 3.2u1s/w).
Please let me know If any one have idea on below errors
1) Host1 - Cluster.CCR: [ID 914260 daemon.warning] Failed to retrieve global fencing status from the global name server.
2) Host1/Host2 - svc:/system/cluster/globaldevices:default: Method "/usr/cluster/lib/svc/method/globaldevices start" failed with exit status 96.
3)Following mount entries were not created by default after successful installation. We updated manually the /etc/vfstab and tried to enable global fencing, but we failed to configure.
/dev/did/dsk/d3s2 /dev/did/rdsk/d3s2 /global/.devices/node@2 ufs 2 yes global – manually added on host1.
/dev/did/dsk/d3s2 /dev/did/rdsk/d3s2 /global/.devices/node@1 ufs 2 yes global - manually added on host2.
But as per the procedure these entries should create automatically on both the nodes.
4)We are trying to turn off the fencing by using the commands but getting these below errors

Every node require have it's own separate slice for globaldevice.
Shared Lun can be mounted with option global for access from both nodes at same time, but it will be second step - configure data-services.

Not able to create database in Solaris 10 x86 Oracle 10.1.0.3

I have installed Oralce 10.1.0.3 in Solaris 10 X86 using the procedure given without creating the database.(Installing the binaries)
Hardware:Sun fire V20z.
When i tried creating Database using DBCA,it was throwing lots of error.
The errors are:
1) ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
2) ORA-03114: not connected to oracle
3) ORA-27100: shared memory realm already exists.
Any help on creating a database in Solaris 10 x86 Oracle 10.1.0.3

After bring the Cluster and ASM is up, I'm not able to start the rdbms ins.

I am not able to bring the database up.
Cluster and ASM is up and running.
ORA-01078: failure in processing system parameters
LRM-00109: could not open parameter file '/oracle/app/oracle/product/11.1.0/db_1/dbs/initTMISC11G.ora'

That is wre the confusion is: I coud nt find it under O_H/dbs,
However the log file indicates that it is using spfile which is located at :
spfile = +DATA_TIER/dintw10g/parameterfile/spfile_dintw10g.ora
Now it checks only the /dbs directory only i guess.
Could you please how can i bring it up now.

Not able to run boot halt test on my Solaris vm

Hi,
I want to run boot halt test for continuous 12hours on Solaris-11-express vm and I am using the below script to do so ,

at -f /boot_halt_test.sh now +5 minutes
reboot

The problem here is when I run this shell script for the first time the vm goes under reboot, but later it does not reboot.
And here I have enabled root login, so this should'n be a problem i guess. When I check the services i am not able to see ATD and crond online or offline.
But at and cron commands are found.
What is the alternative for chkconfig in unix.

Not able to copy the tree node text in solaris, while easily done in window

Hi,
I m not able to copy the text present on the tree's node to terminal or other text editor in solaris. I m using <Shift><control> C and V comaand for the same but the text is not being copied and pasted on the text pad or the terminal window.
While the same is possible in windows OS using ctrl+c and ctrl+v command.
Please suggest the possible solution for the same, is there any property of the tree/OS needs to be set?

Up until last week, I was able to use the tab key when typing emails and other multi-line text boxes.
Suddenly the behavior of the tab key changed. This isn't the first time. It's been quite a while ago that the function of the tab key changed from indenting to moving around the page, then after some time it changed back to indenting.
Can we get this fixed and leave it alone, please?
I may give one of those add-ins a try, but my problem with add-ins is that they break when FF is patched or upgraded, then I'm left with out the solution they provide.
Can we just fix Firefox, please?

P.S. Another potential fix I came across suggested starting FF in safe mode to see if the problem goes away. It does not. It seems to be a change to FF that appeared after an update last week. On or just befor 24 Apr.

Not able to install Gcc on Oracle Solaris-11-express

I installed Solaris-11-express using live cd ans also text based cd on VM.
In package manager I could see gcc package but its not getting installed . Its throwing me error .
So I manually downloaded the gcc tar file and still not able to install. please help.

Sun Solaris 5.10 - SSH 1.1.3-Not able to connect to server with ssh -Urgent

Could it be that you are missing the SSH certificate on the computer where you're experience the problem?
From what I understand, you need to copy the valid certificate from our server to the other computer. Perhaps the following example will be useful:

10g Enterprise Manager is not able to connect to the database instance

I am running a Oracle 10g database in Solaris 10 server. When i am trying to connect to the enterprise manager it says Enterprise Manager is not able to connect to the database instance.
The database instance is open,the listener is up and the agent connection also says that it succeeded.
The server houses two 10g databases and the EM was working properly till yesterday. Kindly Help.

Not able to view any report in BI Publisher 11g

Hello All
I have installed BI Publisher 11g in Intel Solaris 10. I started of from the scratch, created a Data Model, then created a Report. but now I am not able to view the report. Upon clicking the report name or Open it logs me out.
I am logged in as user, weblogic the default user created while installation.

Hi Rony,
You may have created the report initially with Web Layout only - therefore there will no paper layout.
To 'get' the paper layout back, select your Report module name from the Builder and then select Tools-->Report Wizard. Select 'Create both web and Paper Layout' and then go through the various wizard steps.

Not able to generate report in AVDF 12.1

Dear DBA's,
I installed 12.1 database vault server on Linux and created agent on 11.2.0.1 on solaris.
The host status is showing running.
In Security Target > Monitoring > Audit Trail in this menu the collection status is showing stopped and i clicked on start still it is showing stopped.
i am not able to generate any report so far. Kindly help me how to generate report in AVDF.

Hi, since two of my system had unclean shutdown i am not been able to use Telnet and Rlogin or even SSh from my both of my system. the file in "/etc/default/login" is commented and there are system's entry in /etc/hosts file also. but still am not able to login i can ping both the system with each other. i am not even able to telnet localhost..!
"sunshine# telnet localhost
Trying 127.0.0.1...
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused"

are you sure your services are UP ?
you can try :
netstat -an | grep 23
in order to see if port 23 is in LISTEN.
or ps -ef | grep inetd
to see if (x)inetd is running (inetd is the daemon who launches telnet/rlogin)
and if you're under solaris 10, just do something like :
svcs -a | grep telnet
to see if the daemon is online (if he's in maintenance, do a svcs -l telnet, and check the logfile associated to the service to see what happened)

Not able to find AIA2.5 installable for Windows 64 bit

Hi Friends,
I am not able to find the installable of AIA 2.5 for windows platform (64 bit) at oracle e-delivery.
I have installed SOA 10..1.3.5.0 with OC4J, now I need to install AIA 2.5 and then Customer MDM (UCM) PIP over it as a project requirement.
Kindly guide me from where I may download AIA 2.5 and Customer MDM PIP installable.

We could not able to install Oracle Linux 64 bit version 5.0 in graphical mode. We are getting the error message as
"Probing for video card :Intel corporation Unknown device 0152"
We also tried as
boot: Linux vga=2
boot linux resolution 1024x768
boot Linux noprob
boot Linux skipdd
But every time we got this message
NB: We could able to install in text mode as
boot: Linux text.
But our requirement Linux in graphical mode

Why is your "requirement" to install in graphical mode? Once you are past the installation itself, the only thing that buys you is that your server will have been configured to boot up to runlevel 5, running a graphical desktop (gnome or kde, I forget which). And what does THAT buy you on a server?
I do not run ANY of my Linux servers "in graphical mode" -- running a graphical desktop. Nor did I run a graphical desktop when I had Solaris, AIX, or HP-UX servers.
