Not able to use any character as separator in date

Hi
My application is running under forms 5. The date format for date field is mm/dd/rrrr. System allows me to enter any character as separator ie. 12b12b2007 and converts it to valid date like 12/12/2007.
Now we have migrated it to forms 6, but now it doesn't permits me to enter dates like 12b12b2007. I can enter only 12.12.2007, 12-12-2007, 12122007, but not 12b12b2007. What is the reason? any help?

well... I'd recommend not to use any other separators than standard ones..which appear in Forms Help... (That's more or less what appear on Help.. well there it explains what separators you can use..) So.. Is it so necessary for you to use it instead regular ones?

You could close all your apps on the taskbar and then try a reset.
To close apps completely, from your homescreen double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar; press and hold one of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds so that they start to shake; press the '-' symbol in the top left corner to close each app; touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to close the taskbar.
To reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
If that doesn't fix it then you could try restoring from your backup.

I have an ipod touch and I am not able to use any money on my accounts because it is telling me the security code is wrong. Can anyone tell me what I can do?

Other times I am able to sign on to my Ipod with my user ID and password to do an update and it says there is a billing problem with a previous purchase. then you can tap continue and view further info, and when I do this it takes me to my account settings page with the info that I originally set up my Ipod with. I no longer have that same credit card and would like to remove it from account and update with a new one, but have not been sucessful in doing this by using my Ipod. Can I do this online somewhere? Can anyone help me out?

Not able to use adobe reader 9 on windows 7 OS

Hi All,
i have problem with adole reader 9. if i installed on PC i can able to use only PDF file but can not able to use any other executable file.
all other executable flogo show icon of adobe reader.
For using other executable file i need to remove adoble reader installer from operating system and then only i can able to use other application on my PC.
Kindly sugest me as i facing this problem since long time. your prompt revert would be appriceated.

Not able to use JSTL tags

I am not able to use any tag in jstl. I have tried c:out,c:forEach,c:if etc. I have done mapping in the web.xml for the c.tld. I have tried the same code in eclipse and IBM websphere and Rational also but i am getting the error

i thought that it may be something related to configuratioin problem but now I am working in IBM rational and it has support for JSP 2.0. one thing more, I read in the HeadFirst servlets and JSP book that we needn't do any mapping for tlds etc in jsp 2.0. So please elaborate more and tell me the exact reason for my problem.

This message usually indicates that you are using JSTL1.0 with a JSP2.0 container.
Make sure you are using JSTL1.1 (seperate download), and are importing it with the correct URI
<%@ taglib prefix="c" uri="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core"%>
(note the subtle addition of the /jsp in there to distinguish it from JSTL1.0)
As has been said, remove all those tlds and entries in web.xml.
All of the tld can be found in the META-INF directory of standard.jar.
Your web container should find them all there, provided you use the "standard URI"

Installing, and uninstalling, applications never touches or removes the data.
Clean out and uninstall all the apple programs and software thru Programs and manually.
Might want to use Revo and CCleaner
I always use manual standalone installers (and keep a couple backup versions)
itunes 10.5 may affect iTunes media playlists, not sure, depends on what you have.

When you move or copy the compound clips with their events into an external drive all the events should be there. Not clear on why you want to move them into a single event. You can drag and drop from one event to another.
Why are you using compound clips? You can simply copy the project from each machine with used media onto the external drive and that should do it.

Hello, The Hatter, I read about the 'trick' of backing up, erasing, and restoring too, but I figured it would take longer than defragmenting the disk.
But the defragmentation process has just finished! so I'm gonna try to run Boot Camp again soon!

And P.S. I didn't clone my system onto the external drive, I just inserted the Mac OS X Install CD, rebooted holding down the "C" key, and installed a fresh Snow Leopard system onto the predetermined partition. I will use that in cases of emergency, when my main/internal system becomes unusable.

Here I am expecting some clarifications from you. Before that let you my environement.
My working environment :
Eclipse tool and added jmf jar to my project I did not do any thing more.
If any thing I need to do just let me know. My target platform is MAC & UBUNTU.
Please bare with my questions.
1) I am not able to recognize any video/audio devices using jmf and java sound APIs on My system.
( I checked with the app mentioned in the http://www.java-forums.org/new-java/11201-jmf-cannot-connect-device.html )
Do we need any administrives rights for our working PC.
What is the procedure/ setup I need to follow from a java application to enable particular audio/video device since I dont about end-user system setup right.
If possible send some sample code to recognize /r detect audio device ( voice input ). It should run on both MAC and UBUNTU.
2) I run the one sample audio recording application of this link (http://www.jsresources.org/examples/SimpleAudioRecorder.java.html) which is provided by YOU.
I got output audio file and able to hear voice on UBUNTU system but not able to hear voice on MAC system.
I heared that default line in ( audio setup of the sys) is wont take any voice data on MAC.Why I made this stmt means we are getting false when using isSupported methods of JAVA SOUND API.
( like for TragetdataLine ...i,e, all ports are getting false)
I have one sample audio recording app implemented by QUICKTIME API. In this case also he taking audio ftom device only using quicetime API.
With that we are able to record and hear audio ( voice input --> not line in , external device we added some thing like SSB...)
3) In case of Video capturing DataSource, Streams are implemented by PullBufferDataSource , PullBufferStream intefaces used.
In case of Audio capturing DataSource, Streams are implemented by PushBufferDataSource, PushBufferStream intefaces used.
Can you explain the reasons ? I gone through API but i am not clear.

Operation not permitted" (NSPOSIXErrorDomain:1)

Like nearly all antivirus utilities for OS X, Norton a/k/a Symantec and Intego are worthless junk that will cripple your Mac. Remants of one or both are most likely preventing Safari from communicating.
Search the forums for techniques to eradicate them - simply disabling them or dragging their apps to the Trash is not likely to be sufficient. Start by reading this procedure from Symantec:

... i did delete intego without uninstalling so im wondering if that caused the problem.
I believe you are correct. Download and run its uninstaller.

If you change your Apple ID, all the apps you purchased with the previous ID will no longer updatable for you and this problem will continue. You see your old Apple ID because you are likely still using some of the apps purchased on that ID.
