Not able to use Apple Gift card for buying ipad apps
Hello all.
I recently bought online a 200$ Apple Gift Card for buying apps for the iPAD.
I can't seem to be able to do that. My gift card has a number and a pin. Does this mean I can only use it phisically to buy in the store?
I just want to buy apps.

You do need an iTunes-Gift Card instead - Your card can be used for shopping at the Apple Online Store.

The App store is not letting me use my gift card to purchase any apps...ideas?
It is a $100 gift card and has already been redeemed and purchases have been made previously. There is a remaining balance on the card. When i sign into the app store, there used to be a balance that appeared beside the "account" tab, but now it is gone! Everytime I try to make a purchase, the app store asks me to confirm the billing information and to resign into my mac account. Once i sign in, it asks for my billing information again and the cycle continues. Not too sure what I'm supposed to do. Also, it has worked until yesterday when I downloaded the new itunes and synced my newly purchased iphone with my mac.

Several things to try ...
If you are running v10.6, install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo
If you are running v10.7, install the OS X Lion Update 10.7.3 (Client Combo)
That will reinstall the App Store for you. Restart your Mac after the combo is installed.
Try logging into the App Store and check your balance.
You can also view your balance is the account area at the iTunes Store on your Mac.
Apple - Apple Gift Cards
When you review your account in the Edit Payment Information window in either the Mac App Store or iTunes Store, don't forget to the click the Done button bottom right side of the window.
If nothing above has helped, try resetting your iTunes account. You can do that here > Apple - My Apple ID
And try deleting the cache associated with the App Store. Quit the App Store if it's open.
Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/Cache.db
Move the Cache.db file to the Trash. Try the App Store.

If you don't have a credit card then you might be able to use iTunes gift cards instead - that's what I currently use for purchases. You might be getting the 'billing problem' message due to it being a debit card, which as I said I don't think are still accepted - you might want to contact iTunes Support via the link that I gave to confirm one way or the other if that is the case.
and now, when i tried to check again my network preference below the airport tab is showing a message that
"my airport does not have an IP address and cannot connect to the internet!"
then after seconds it will goes back to the first message that
"airport has the self assigned IP address etc....."
i don't know whats going on now!
airport tab is not showing green color anyway! i'ts always in yellow!

Why can't I use my Apple gift card for app purchases? The Apple store sells iTunes gift cards, but I can't buy one with the remaining balance on my gift card.... Why won't you let me buy what I want to buy?

So, I received an apple gift card for graduation from college. It was $500 and I wanted to use to buy an iPad.
The person at the apple store said I was not allowed to use a gift card to pay for more than %50 of an iPad.
My question is...WHY? They got their money when someone purchased the gift card, what does it matter?
I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this issue, or knows why this is apple's policy. It just doesn't seem to make sense to me.That is a very, very big assumption.
Apple could simply check the gift card and see if the purchase of that card was valid. They would have to Do that anyway to verify the amount on it anyway.
Not wanting to pony up the cash could be a sign of naughtiness.

If i got a gift card and could not use it, I would be beyond ticked off! It' s valid or it isn't.

The iTunes Store and Mac App Store use the same user database, so any credit in your account can be used in either place. Gift cards, while they may be labeled as one or the other, are actually identical and can be redeemed though either the iTunes Store or the Mac App Store.
Note, though, that gift cards for the Apple Store are completely different and cannot be used in either the iTunes Store nor the Mac App Store.

When I try to purchase a song, it will not let me use the gift card that I redeemed. It directs me to my billing info and says that my session has timed out. How can I fix this?

I'm sorry, but there is nothing that I can do to help you with this situation. I don't know why, but many people have problems when they try to buy gems in the Clash of Clans game. Personally, I wouldn't touch the game with a ten foot pole, but that's just my opinion.

Not really sur easy you would be having that problem. Mine works. You might try RESET DEVICE
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for device to restart (no data will be lost). Then try again and see if it makes a difference
