Not able to use ipod touch

Hello,
A couple of weeks ago I bought a new app through my itunes on the computer. Then I tried to sync my Iopd Tuch with my computer. Ever since then I haven't been able to use my Ipod Touch. On the Ipod screen I just see the usb cable that shows an arrow going in to the Itunes icon.
At first I left it overnight connected to my computer over night. Then, I forefully unplugged it from my computer then tried to sync it again. Still the same display shows up. In the meantime I have an Ipod nano, which I am able to sync it to the computer regularly and use it appropriately. Any idea how I can solve this problem for my iopd touch?

Try connecting the iPod in *Recovery Mode* and restore the iPod via iTunes as described in this Apple support document.

I am trying to use my ipod as an external hard drive and I cannot get it to work. When I open itunes and connect my ipod I check the enable disk use box but I am not getting an itunes icon in My Computer or anywhere else. Any ideas? Thanks.

You can delete all the songs from your computer and just keep them on the iPod by changing the update option of your iPod to "manually manage music and videos". In manual mode you can connect and play the songs from your iPod through iTunes on your computer. You can get details here: Managing content manually on iPod
One major word of caution. If you delete songs from your computer and have no back up other than the iPod you will risk losing them permanently if your iPod fails or you find you have to restore it to solve a problem (and that's a very strong possibility). You should reconsider your original idea of investing in an external hard drive to store/back up your music. Alternatively at the very least back up songs you can't replace such as iTunes downloads to CD or DVD. Something else to be aware of when using an iPod in manual mode is that the "Do Not Disconnect" message will remain on the display until you physically eject the device: Safely Disconnect IPod

The iPod's firmware is corrupt. You'll need to restore it again in iTunes. If necessary, place the iPod in recovery mode for iTunes to recognize the device. Use the instructions in this Apple support document to walk you through the process of placing the iPod Touch into recovery mode.

On the computer you should be able to go to the network properites. Go to the TCP part and unchec the line that says obtaind DNS automatically and check the one that says use the following. Add the 8.8.8.8 and Google other 8.8.4.4.

Your problem will be that AppleTV only has HDMI and optical output - no analogue out so unless say you had a B&W Zeppelin or similar that has optical in you'd need something esle to decode the audio to ananlogue.
Some have also reported AppleTV not working for audio when TV is off or in standby.
You may be better off having both!

If you did not yet connect with iTunes, you can place any music from your library back into your iPod from the computer. When set to automatically manage usic and videos, whatever iTunes finds changed in your music app will be reset to what is on your computer iTunes library.

I just purchased this movie on Thursday, May 15, so just a few days ago. I have never had any trouble whatsoever since I have been in Vietnam. I have downloaded several movies and even music and they have all synced to my respected Apple products except for this purchase.

I purchased a used iPod touch advertised as 2d generation. I later found that it is first generation. I can use the device for my limited purposes but only when connected to my desktop. For some reason that I can't figure out, I am unable to download "more episodes" for my podcasts or otherwise connect to the iStore when using my wifi connection.
