Not acceptable from nokia!

Recently stated by nokia
As for X7/E6: they are getting updates (PR1.1 is already in the pipeline and distributed as we speak) - but as I've stated we are not doing a big activity on those and I'm therefore not tracking them. If you are interested in those, switch on the software update autocheck in your phone and let it tell you as soon as it becomes available.
Here we see AGAIN nokia customers been let down and tossed aside like an empty can.
We where told nealry two weeks ago that the update for anna is available in ireland/uk.
From what im reading and hearing on irish networks be it sim free or not, a handfull and i mean a handfull of people have been able to update.
Why show lack of support for ireland/uk and the US. And leaving another batch of customers(current X7/E6 users) lagging behind.
Nokia should be supporting ALL variants,ALL regions and ALL countries.at ALL times.
As it stands we are still seeing ANNA been released in dribs and drabs.almost half way into september.
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

The point that Jimmy (and others I might add!) are trying to make is this:
Nokia has promised an update by a certain date a while back for Anna for everyone.  They couldn't deliver.  Users are now questioning why they, Nokia, promised something that they couldn't deliver, or *KNEW* that they couldn't deliver by that time frame, and simply *&^#&@%! bad PR moves by a company that which they love(d) products from.
@jraduga - you seem to be almost trying to do damage control FOR nokia's bad PR decisions on this forum based on the posts that you have thus far.   Yeah - some people should chill out about this whole update.  Heck, as a former Nokia loyalist - I would be freaking about it too.  See, people wouldn't have cared or worried about this whole Anna business if Nokia didn't just randomly decided to tease folks about from Feb on.  Heck, I am more than positive that most users would still be 99%+ content if they hadn't know about the whole Anna+Belle update is coming!
But the point is that Nokia promised and couldn't deliver.  If they know they can't deliver - then stop teasing the user base and getting them annoyed.  They're better off hammering it out throughly and then just releasing it quietly.  It's not like they've sold *millions* of these particular batches of smartphones that *ALL* their servers would crash assuming that all of them attempted to update simultaneously.  Nokia *KNOWS* that with their regional product code sets that how many devices are actually being used with every query from the device asking for an update from the previous smaller updates.  They could easily do the math and determine what kind of server response they would need to have ready to dish out such an upgrade!
But then again, I'm speaking from a logical software/hardware management update schedule. Based on their previous trackrecord with other devices.. i'm not so sure it applies, and why Nokia wonders why their userbase is shrinking...
Ok so nokia is not perfect I've not commented either way on what has been said by them in regards to the promises made early in the year. Many companies that are releasing software or firmware based product fall behind. there is other phone manufacturers, one in particular
that are currently more than 9 months behind on their expected release date, but you know what i dont see people on their forums jumping up and down like those on here.
In regards to this point only, as far as I am concerned a general statement would be a better option for companies like these such as " we are currently working on a new release of ... and we believe it will benefit our customer base because of ..." something to keep interest in the company and the products without creating an unreal expectation of delivery timeframes.
I agree with you if you let it just slide thru the system then most people would be happy when they saw that they have an update, as opposed to waiting and expecting, which you will see that commented on in another post.  The thing that gets me is that regardless of what was said as far as time frames, the release is happening, and yet people are still jumping up and down when it has been clearly explained that it being rolled out and that timeframes for each country or product code cannot be given until agreements are signed off and it is released. It been said over and over again, and yet they are still asking. Jimmy is concerned that his recently released x7/e6 is not getting some updates that he thinks he should be, so he is jumping up and down, when he 2 has been told only yesterday that roll outs are happening but that skyee is not tracking these herself as she is concentrating on the anna roll out. I truely dont care what promises were made or who teased who. we are not kids here. We are talking about roll out that are happening as we speak (or type lol), cant people show a little patience when they see things happening. cant people like jimmy whose phone has only just been release handle having to wait for a short time.  What even gives him the impression that his phone even needs an update. This discussion is not about who said what 8 months ago or how long people have had to wait till it started to be rolled out.
Its about people demanding and constantly asking for things that they have already been told the answer to. I can understand frustration, i have used nokia products for more years than i care to remember and have been waiting for the release of the E7 in australia  since it was first announced, even when it was available overseas for months before we got it here. All because the carriers had to agree with it and sign off on it after changes were made etc. when my old phone was dying more every day, when i could only be heard on it, if i used a bluetooth headset cause the mic wasnt working towards the end. but that little E90 hung on for me and even with all the faults that were going on with it, I was still able to use it and get all my details across to the E7. But did you see me on here complaining or whinging NO you didnt.
I can certainly undertand why the world has wars all the time. no body has any patience, as you would have seen in my other posts i'm from australia, we dont have the anna update and may not have it for a month. As you may or may not know Australia is about the 2nd largest market for smart phones in the world, and Nokia is still huge out here and yet we still dont have anna but how many of us do you see complaining, a couple here and a couple there. So what is it about the rest of the world that they all need to complain about it even when they have been given the answers they need.
They all defnietly need to chillout, if they cant and feel so strongly about it that they fill like they need to change their phone, then dont whinge about it, just do it. nokia will learn one way or another, if you all just leave then someone will have to ask questions. Soemtimes the loudest voices are the queitess ones. Cause when there is total silence people will start to listen. In the mean time read the posts, understand the posts and DONT keep asking the same questions over and over again when you have been told the answer!!!

  • X3-02 RM-639 v7.51 fw not seen from Nokia update

Why does the 7.51 version firmware not appear from within the Nokia Suite as an available update?  x3-02 RM-639 here currently at v5.65.

Updates vary by region and product code and operator handsets, which may be locked and in most cases you are left waiting,
Contact your provider if your handset is locked and ask them. After that you may just wait.

    Hi SamG,
    Agree with the others .
Also you can use powershell "Enable-PSRemoting -force" on destination hyper-v server (The system will prompt you to confirm some settings during
the setup. Select A for Yes to All to confirm all of them.).
Then on your local computer run the follow powershell :
    $cred = Get-Credential -Credential xxxxxx\administrator
(you need to enter the user name and password of the remote computer)
    Enter-PSSession -ComputerName xxxxxx -Credential $cred
After that , maybe you can remote use powershell .
For details please refer to following links:

On precisely 1st April my Nokia e7 (on 3 (UK)) stopped sending email. I've tried configuration using both smtp2go.com (a general smtp commercial gateway with wide access) and with my ISP "traveller" SMTP configuration. None of it works.
There isn't a connectivity problem with the ISP as the email is downloading fine - but it won't send.
Is anbody else experiencing the same problem because I think it's an issue with Nokia's own servers rather than the mobile network I'm on?

Have you tried this smtp setting: smtp.three.co.uk ?

  • Playbook not accepting FILES from my nokia c7 via bluetooth

    I got the playbook recently.
I have nokia C7 phone having JPG files and mp3 files. I wanted to transfer files from nokia phone to playbook.
I have done the following -
    1. Bluetooth of the both the devices are ON and they are paired successfully.
    2. FILE sharing option on playbook is also ON
    3. however, when i send any file via bluetooth to playbook, my C7 says unable to connect.
I dont understand this. All the pairing and file sharing options are set correctly.
    Please provide a solution ASAP.
I can also do the internet teethering from my c7 successfully, then why it doesnt transfer files via simple bluetooth. What am i missing?

At the present time there is no bluetooth file sharing on the playbook. Use a pc or Mac to put the files on an then transfer them to the playbook. At least you will have a backup of the files.

  • Announcing my divorce from Nokia or "DO NOT BUY TH...

After owning the debacle that is the NoKia N97 for several months, I felt a longing to return to simpler, easier to use and more reliable but feature rich handsets that Nokia used to be very well known for, and were actually pretty good at making. Remember that word 'reliable' for now, as I'll come back to it. But basically, every time I had to pull out the heavy, bulky, temperamental N97 from my pocket, and wait for its glitchy, lazy software to figure out what I was trying to do at that moment in time, I became more and more resentful of it and realized that sometimes, "smart phones" are anything but. I longed for the simplicity and beauty of Nokia's 6230,or 6230i, or 6233 days, just as a few examples, when phones did everything you could want them for and didn't require several Phds to operate. In my search, I came to rest upon the Nokia 6700 classic.
I'll confess - I was hooked almost from the fist look. It's stainless steel body; it's cool, classy candbybar form with rounded edges and its simple, yet striking front plate communicated a seriousness and promised a robust, straightforward experience. A quick glance through the feature list and I was hooked. I had to have it. I had dreams of abandoning my N97 to my underwear drawer, possibly only to be liberated in times of desperate need when a back-up handset might be helpful for a trip, but determined not to sell it to anyone, as I knew in my heart, I could not wish the evil of an N97 on my own worst enemy. In one amazing spec sheet, Nokia had promised redemption with the 6700 classic, and I was eager to give it to them.
To be fair, I was warned. Even though I had committed to buying, I raked the internet for reviews. "Temperamental" they warned. "Unreliable" they screamed! "Daft" they exclaimed. I read them all but was unmoved - mine would be the exception, rather than the rule. Mine would defy the expectations, and work well without glitch or incident, for after all, this was Nokia, and Nokia could not let me down so utterly, so completely, so unremorsefully, so quickly in succession, with two different products... not me; a fervant, loyal, reliable supporter and purchaser of their products for the last 10 years, without interruption... This would not happen. I willed it.
I've owned the phone for less two months, and here's the facts: before it just stopped working, the phone would get impossibly hot during phone calls using the headset. It would routinely drop calls for no discernable reason, headset on or not, and when it was offended by my reaction to it doing so, would actually turn itself OFF during phone calls to drive the point home. The phone doesn't have a 3.5mm jack (which I knew when I bought it) so is not terribly good for listening to music or plugging into a car radio, and for reasons which shall always escape me but which shall likely fascinate me to the point of distraction till the day I die, Nokia made it so that the radio could not be played over the loudspeaker!!!!
So, you can't play the radio over the loudspeaker.... and it doesn't work very well, for MAKING PHONE CALLS!!!!
Then, about a month ago, it just turned off, and hasn't come back on since. Despite everything I've tried. And tried. And tried. And keep trying... sigh.
So I've had no choice... Back to the underwear drawer.... and the N97...
Oh, Nokia, my once beloved Nokia, whyfore art thou a hopeless gaggle of idiot-savants and social maladajusts? Where hast your dependability gone? Why hast your basic five-year-old-knows-better-by-now-common-good-sense abandoned thee? Oh my beloved, would that I could flog thee to within an inch of thy corporate life until the madness that has seized thee is over, and thy commitment to me, thy customer, was once more paramount in thy "threatened-giant-addled-brain"....
But alas.... not. So I'm quitting Nokia, after 10 years as a loyal customer. I've owner about 15 or more Nokias since I began, and I've just had so many bad experiences of quality issues in the last two years that I just no longer have faith in the company, or its products. It's painful, because I like the company, what it used to stand for and have always found its products to be the most attractive made by anyone, but I just can't keep spending huge amounts of money on phones that don't actually work. Siiiiighh... I don't know what I'll move on to next, I just know it won't be a Nokia product, and frankly, I don't really care. There's not much joy in it for me anyway. Not now.
Oh... and whatever you do, wherever you are: DO.NOT.BUY.THE.NOKIA.6700.CLASSIC. Under ANY circumstances. On pain of death. Just DON'T.DO.IT. Don't accept it as a gift. Don't buy it used. Don't get it. Just don't. Stay well clear.
With much respect and affection for you all,
    Axel

Wow, Karan Taneja, you've just embarrassed yourself on a worldwide support forum.  Not only is your post ridiculous and completely inappropriate for a technical support forum, but it also shows your ignorance as to whom you think the audience is.  Apple is not here.  It's users, like you.
If you would have spent half the time actually reading the Terms of Use of this forum that YOU agreed to by signing up to post, as you did composing that usesless, inappropriate post, you (and the rest of us on this forum) would have been much better off.

I need to install iWork 09 so I can open the many pages document files that will NOT open under the new pages 5. Mavericks will not accept an install from my iWork's 09 CD. How do I get around this?

Hi, I'm helping StringSinger2 with this problem.
The previously installed version is Pages 3.0.3 (the same as from iWork 08). This version (Pages 3.0.3/iWork 08) is incompatible with Pages 5.
That is why it would be helpful to install iWork 09, which is the version between the two. It will open the older 08 files, and its saved files are readable by the new Pages5.
    SO...
When I try to install iWorks 09 from my retail DVD the error message is "the installer is damaged". (I know the dvd is good, I installed iWorks09 to my laptop today.) Is the "installer" part of the system files? And - If that is damaged is there a patch for that?
    Many Thanks!

Do you have a new Apple ID to use in NZ? If not open iTunes Store. Log out of your old Apple ID, then try to login. Select Create Apple ID from the dialog that appears. Make a new Apple ID for NZ with a NZ email address. Once that is approved and verified, log into the iTunes Store with the new Apple ID. This should fix all other issues.
