Not Afraid of Technology! But not the Most Technical Person!
I set up my time machine back up to my external disk, works great!
The external disk is so large! I was reading in Time Machine help, that it is best to use external disk for Time Machine Back up only.
My question: Since my external disk is so large, Can I partition my external disk into two sepearate disks?
one partition for Time Machine Back Up and the other Partition for storage,(files I don't want to burn onto disk and files I dont want taking up space on my laptop.) I understand that these files will not be backed up! That's fine!
The other issue: In Disk Utility I've been trying to partition another disk (non statrt up disk)
I am following the directions how to reformat and partition a non start up disk.
it tells me to click Partition! No where in disk utility do I see the word Partition!
I'm I missing something?
These are serious question!
Please I'm open to being enlightened!

No where in disk utility do I see the word Partition!
In DU, you have to select the drive in the column on the left. The Partition command is at the top on the right.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

I need help been trying to get flash on computer but is prompts me with this, I have downloaded this flash over and over again & uninstalled it too. Im not to sure what i have on my computer but i believe it to be window 7... My brother told me that flash can only be installed on the 32 bit IE, so i opened up the 32 IE and tried it there, but it still prompts me with this? I'm installing Flash Player on my Windows 7 64-bit OS using IE 8 32-bit. The installation terminates and the log file contains the following. I've scanned my registry for any reference to Flash and removed anything that remotely resembles Flash Player (of course backing up Registry first). I've run uninstall_flash_player.exe, which doesn't appear to do anything. I've checked logs and there's no reference to Flash Player being installed.
When I go to the link provided ( http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/) I get the messageThe version of Adobe® Flash® Player ActiveX that you are trying to install is not the most current version. Please visit http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer to obtain the latest, most secure version. and when I look at the log (install.log) I see an attempt to install Flash Player. 1. I was upgrading from Adobe CS5 and based on Adobe's own recommendations I uninstalled all Adobe products prior to installing Adobe Creative Suite. This included not only Adobe CS5 but ALSO FLASH v16.
2. After uninstalling all Adobe products (including Flash 16) I rebooted the computer and installed the latest build generated for Adobe Create Suite.
3. After installing Adobe Create Suite I attempted to reinstall Flash but it will not let me install it.
4. The error received is "The version of Adobe Flash you are attempting to install is not the most current version".
5. Flash is NOT installed and when running the "Is Flash Present" test from Adobe's site the answer is NO.

Flash player 11.5.502.149 will not install, states that the version of flash is not the most current
I'm using the runtime (install_flash_player_11_active_x.exe) install for Flash 11.5.502.149 which I just downloaded. I'm trying to install it on a Windows 7 64bit system. When I try to run it the install tells me that the version of flash is not the most current and I should download the most recent version. Accorsing to the site, this is the most recent version. Any thoughts?

KeithBy the time I saw this, the OS was corrupt. This isn't going to help me right npw. One very important item, though, for those of us who use the runtime to install, it needs to be modified so that it doesn't look for a newer version of the install before it actually installs. We use Altiris to push this out to our folks and that check causes the installation process to stop. My guess is that it is waiting for a response which will never occur since it is running in a hidden window. I agree that it needs to be updated, but this method is causing significant issues. This was the same problem I found when trying to install an older version of Flash that didn't have the issues with Sysprep that later ones did.
That said, is there a switch for the install_flash_player_11_active_x.exe that will force it to run without checking first? The -install doesn't stop the checking.

bleAgain, iTunes only keeps one normal backup, per device. Any other backups listed are backups created from restore points. These are time/date stamped & are not overwritten.

I have multiple snapshots of this one. I am trying to install Adobe Flash Player on a Windows7 64bit machine from adobe.com. I keep getting the following error:

This is the message that I am getting from Adobe.com website!
I tried uninstalling multiple times + reinstalling, same error. I tried offline installing, same error (is not the most current version).

If you decide to Uninstall and Install again, I would use the "executable" which you can download to your Desktop.
Have you previously installed any beta version? I'm sure you know you need to use the 32bit browser since Flash Player
is not supported on the 64bit.
The Anti-Virus/Firewall, Security Settings for IE, Permission requirement are important. Also the necessity of Rebooting twice after the Uninstall for IE, to make sure old files are removed.

My first device that I moved to the cloud was not the most accurate. I want to erase what is on the iCloud and reset with my laptop first and then my other devices. Any suggestions?

Before you start, I'd export the data from the notebook to your desktop as a back up.
Turn syncing off, if it isn't already, on the notebook (system preferences > iCloud), delete the data from the first device, turn on syncing on the notebook and merge. -
My iPhone 4S is only playing part of a song and then stops, sometimes plays whole song but for the most part it just stops randomly
Now it's Wednesday (2 days since I originally posted) & my iPhone appears to have finally restored all my apps, but it still says it's restoring from iCloud backup. If all my apps are restored, what else could it be restoring? IS it actually restoring anything at this point, or is it still in 'glitch' mode??? I've tried turning it off & back on & it continues to say that it's restoring.

I had Adobe FLASH 11 but it did not play any videos, so I was prompted to download the version before it (10.) but it will not let me download it since it is not the latest/most current version of the program. How do I get a version that will actually work?
You can check for problems caused by recent Flash updates and try these:
*disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
*disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later

How to restore from a session that is not the most recent
I used the Forget button and it closed out of my windows and opened a clean window. I've started up and closed out of Firefox several times since then so using any type of 'Restore Previous Session' option won't work because the tabs I want aren't the most recent. The ones that I want were what I had before I clicked the forget button. I want to know if there's a way to restore from past sessions.

My files on creative cloud are not the most recent versions
Today and over the last few days I've been saving files from my office computer to my creative cloud so I can work on them at home, but when I get home the files are either not showing or are not the current save.
Is there a way to force dump cache or something like that?Are you saving the files using Upload and Replace from the Files page at https://creative.adobe.com/files, or are you saving the files (and changes) in the Creative Cloud Files folder on your computer and letting the file sync upload the files and changes? (Either way will work just trying to understand your workflow).
First lets confirm the newest changes are being saved to the Creative Cloud files storage. When you use Replace from the Files page, or save the file in the Creative Cloud Files folder, a new version is created. You can confirm the latest version is saved by first going to the Files page in the browser and then clicking on the changed file to view its page. By default Details are displayed but you can switch to Activity. You should then see that there are versions, and that Current Version the correct version.
Please confirm that the correct (latest) versions are synced up on your office computer. If not lets figure out why. If the correct versions are synced up then we can see what is happening on your home computer. -
Remove the duplicate rows but keep the most recent and oldest records
I have a Product table, some products have duplicate rows(same productID). I want to keep the most recent and the oldest records based on ETL load date (or min and max productKey), delete others. How to do this in a simple way?

Can the history show duplicate visits to the same address and not the most recent?
As an example, if I go to websiteX.whatever one day, then revisit it say a week later, can I get the history library to show both visits?
Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:

Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.

Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download IPhoto Library Manager 4 for OS XC 10.6.8 and iPhoto 8.1.2 and later or iPhoto Library Manager 3 (for OS X 10.5.8 and iPhoto 7.1.5 and earlier) and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu (iPLM 3) or Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu (iPLM 4) option.
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
