Not all albums and events synching to apple TV (2nd Gen)
Hi,
My 2nd gen apple tv wont sync all photos from my iphoto. It has just selected certain albums and events, without any real connection between them, excluding some albums i want on there.
Is there a memory limit to the amount it can sync? It will not load the last 5 events (all 2010 taken), and seems to only have a max of 10 albums, even if i create a new album.
Anyone having the same problem? I cannot see why it picks some and not others!

I have the same issue.
I can see all the albums on my tv, but if I want to run the slide show, it says "loadong" forever. Even if it is an album with just 5 pictures.
Another album with 270 pics is running perfectly.
Any help is appreciated.

Select you device from the left sidebar of iTunes and navigate to the Photos tab at the top. Do you have the Sync Photos With checkbox checked and set to iPhoto?

The iPhone iOS 4 User Guide sees to indicate that the SYNCH function is all one way from computer to iPhone, unless it is for purchased items in iStore on the iPhone.

thanks for the "TouchCopy" software link. I have downloaded a demo copy and it will resolve my transfer of music from iPhone to the new computer. I can then delete any unwanted music on the new computer, then re-synch the updated music to iPhone.
I am not sure about the photos. On my iPhone, there are two photo "albums" - one called "camera roll" and the other called "photo library." TouchCopy finds the pictures in the "camera roll" DCIM folder, and I can copy them to the new computer etc.
However, TouchCopy does not seem to find the "Photo Library" folder. Any clues? -
Constantly being asked to set time and date (Apple TV 2nd Gen)
I am constantly being asked to set time and date on my Apple TV 2nd Gen. Has anyone had this problem? I get the screen with this message about 10-15mins after I connect to my home network. I connect, everything works fine, but then streamin, browsing stop and this screen appears. Any help would be appreciated.

My MacBook's hardrive failed. My only backup for iPhoto is on my iPhone. I bought a new MacBook Pro and I'd like to restore all the Photo Albums and Events from my iPhone. Is there a 3rd party app that is capable of this?
I downloaded iMacsoft to transfer music, books, etc. But it will only transfer photos in my iPhone's Camera Roll.Are these photos on your iPhone? Can you actually see them? If so, then iCloud should see them as well. All else fails, plug in the iPhone via a USB cable into the new Mac and iPhoto will launch showing you what photos you can import in.
Again, the old photos in question MUST be on the iPhone (i.e. you at one time sync'd your entire photo library to your iPhone, which to my knowledge also makes it available to the iCloud backup if you have enough room).
No, it is not easy to get synced photos back to the Mac. An iCloud backup does not include the synced photos nor the Photo Stream photos. See:

One way to save the synced photos back to the Mac is to save them to the Camera Roll. This requires extra space on the device and much tapping, because it is not easy to save all photos at once to the Camera Roll. It would be easier with iPhoto iOS. Here you can share the the synced photos to iTunes and then save them using iTunes photo sharing on your Mac. In iPhoto you can select ranges of photos to share - much less tapping required. Select the Shared Photos folder under iPhoto Documents.
Click Save To and select the location on your computer where you want to save the items.
To view your photos, go to the Finder and look in the location you selected above. -
I have just started to import CD's onto itunes, all albums and tracks are being picked up, but in the album view they are not being stored together, they appear as unknown album

IPhoto update to 9.4.1 and lost all albums and photo event history
I madethe suggested updates on the 8th OCt. 2012 and then today, first opening after upgrade and much to my surprise all my photo albums and event/import history is gone. Please tell me this is recoverable.
If you're are truely opening your main library after following leonieDF's suggestion do the following: make a temporary, backup copy of your library if you don't already have one (Control-click on the library ande select Duplicate from the contextual menu) and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #1, followed by #3 and then #4 as needed.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

It appears that this is due to firmware corruption and you can fix it by using the micro USB cable and hooking it to iTunes. I have not tried it yet but supposedly several people were able to resolve their problem this way. If you do try it, let me know. I don't have the cable at this time. -

First, disable iTunes Match on the iPhone. Open the Music app and let the content clear out. Now, in iTunes, disable iTunes Match while holding down the Option key (Shift for Windows). Quit iTunes, wait a few seconds, and re-open it. Turn iTM back on and let it complete it's scan. The songs that are "waiting" ought to get converted to "purchased," "uploaded" or "matched." Once the scan is complete re-enable the service on the iPhone.

The tab "Events" doesn't even show on my iPad.

I hv lost my icon for iphoto on my Imac Mac OSX10.5.8. I still hv my pics but can no longer creat albums and events. If I upgrade to the latest Mountain Lion, will my pics go into the new iphoto?
From where did you lose the iPhoto icon? From the Dock? If so, then it's still in your Applications folder. Find it there then drag the icon back into the Dock. If it's no longer in Applications perhaps you've moved or renamed it. Use Spotlight to search for "iphoto."
Upgrading to Mountain Lion will not affect your iPhoto Library unless you erase the hard drive first. Be sure you backup before any system upgrade.

Disappointed with IOS7, i had organized my music library as per the Genre and now im unable to hear all the songs of the same genre like in the earlier versions. The options of "all albums" and "all songs" are missing in this version of IOS. Help Please..
It would be nice if you told others the steps you've tried and/or how you used to have your setup.
Anyway have you tried tapping MORE this will then bring you to
the selection-list of Audiobooks, Genres, Compilations & Composers.
Selecting Genres gives you a list of all your music split into genres which was set within the Music downloaded via iTunes or uploaded from CD or which you may have set yourself.
Then you just select the Genre you want:
If certent songs are not correctly gategorised you may need to go into iTunes and reselect via Get-info
>Info>Genre and change it there. That way you should end up with all songs of Jazz or other in 1 place. -
Some, but not all, albums not displayed after Yosemite/iPhoto 9.6 upgrade
After upgrading to Yosemite and iPhoto 9.6, photos from some, but not all, albums are missing. All albums from the previous version are listed in the Library, but 12 of 15 are showing "(0)" with no contents.
Is recovery possible?

iPhoto 9.6 (910.29)Your best solution is to restore a backup copy of the library made just prior to the Yosemite and iPhoto upgrades.
Otherwise try the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window. Be sure to follow the circled recommendation in the screenshot.
2 - run Option #4, Rebuild Database. -
FCP X does not recognize projects and events on USB drive after a time machine restore of the MBP macintosh disk.
I upgraded from an i5 to an i7 15" MBP and restored my files using my time machine backup. All seemed to go ok, except I had to use the migration assistant because on the initial boot the MAC didn't recognize the backup database on the USB device. MAybe this is a hint.
Since when I start FCPX it too cannot finnd the project or event directories.
Before my upgrade, I had a choice of files either on the Macintosh disk or the 2TB USB disk.
Now only files on the Macintosh are accessible to FCPX. The USB drive is visible under events and project but it finds no projects or events.
Please help if you can.

I think I have the structure that you are recommending.
I have a root level directory (Final Cut Events) with the files in them.
The puzzling thing is that it used to work before the migration!.
Anyway I'm going to move the contents to the root and see what happens.
On a slightly different note...
I also posted a question about CPU utilization. Can I ask a question or two?
While rendering a short clip, I noticed burst of disk activity when the render started (likely loading the media files into ram since I have about 4Gigs available, then almost no activity while the render is happening, then more disk activity when its done.
However the cpu activity is not as high as I would have expected since rendering requires a lot of cpu.
What is your experience? I know some render is done by the GPU, but in my older i5 the CPU was about 100%, now in my i7 its about 50%.
Please look at the attached utilization for CPU and disk activity.
