NOT ALL CONTACTS SYNCING

I have an Iphone 3G and sync my contacts from Outlook 2007 to my PC. HOWEVER, I have 407 contacts on my computer; but, after syncing, only 346 contacts appear on my Iphone. This is extremely annoying. I travel quite a bit and usually the contact I need is one that did not sync! Is there a solution to this?

Hello mdburch,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you are curious about how contacts are added to your Apple Watch and how many contacts you can have on your Apple Watch. The Apple Watch can add up to 12 contacts from your iPhone. For information on how to add or remove these contacts, please read over the attached web link below.

  • ITunes for Windows 7 64 bit, Windows Live Mail Contacts not (all?) syncing

I have researched this as much as I can but cannot find a solution.
I had my iPhone 4 synced to my Window Vista Home Premium PC using iTunes just fine until January when the PC motherboard crashed. No data was lost and all contacts have been restored to my new PC with is Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit). My contacts are in Windows Live Mail (Windows Contacts) and I'm syncing via iTunes with "Sync Contacts with: Windows Contacts" selected.
However, not all contacts are syncing with my iPhone. In fact, I'm not sure they are syncing at all, although the sync function goes through. It may be that the only ones that sync are those that existed before the new PC (i.e., the Windows Vista contacts which were in Windows Mail). I have created new contacts on both the PC using the new version Windows Live Mail and on the iPhone since the crash, and would like to get them synced up.
    Symptoms:
    1) Some specific contacts on PC are not on the iPhone after multiple sync attempts.
I have so far positively identified one contact that did not sync. It shows in Windows Live Mail under Contacts, however it does NOT show up in my Windows username/Contacts folder!
    2) One Contacts group on PC is not on the iPhone, although two others are (they probably were from before the crash).
I have so far positively identified one group that did not sync. It shows in Windows Live Mail under Contacts groups, however it does NOT show up in my Contacts folder as a .group file!
    3) The same group as #2 also does NOT show up in the iTunes group list under "Selected Groups" on iTunes, but the other two groups do. (I do not use "selected groups" because that disables "all contacts" syncing, but the groups are visible grayed out on the list.)
    4) As a test, I created a new contact on my iPhone, synced, and it shows up now in Windows Live Mail Contacts; it also shows up in my Windows username/Contacts folder.
    5) As a test, I created a new contact in Windows Live Mail and it does NOT show up in my username/Contacts folder. I synced the iPhone again and it does NOT show up on my iPhone contacts.
OK folks, where are these missing contacts going and how can I get them synced??  Thanks!
PS: I have the latest iTunes 10.5.3.3, no updates are available. However, Apple Support/iTunes seems to suggest Windows 7 64 bit either "does not use Windows Contacts" (which seemed quite wrong until I ran the tests above), and also that Windows 7 64 requires iTunes 10.4.1, which I cannot install because I have a later version installed. I would have assumed the correct version installed for my OS when I installed iTunes on the new PC. iTunes runs fine by itself and in coordination with my iPhone other than the above issue.
PPS: This site seems potentially relevant, however is highly technical: http://liveunplugged.wordpress.com/2011/02/04/windows-live-mail-contacts-databas e/
but doesn't help with this problem.

I didn't get any help on this from the forum, but from studying around and experimenting with different approaches, I have come up with the following conclusions:
Under Windows Vista, Windows Mail synced its contacts with Windows Contacts [which are in c:\users\username\contacts]. iPhone via iTunes synced with Windows Contacts. Changes to either Windows Mail Contacts or iPhone contacts would always update each other. Life was good.
Under Windows 7, Windows LIVE Mail (WLM) does NOT sync its contacts with Windows Contacts. It puts them into a hidden database. If you have prior Windows Contacts and brought them along for the ride, they are still there in the folder but they are not connected to the WLM contacts database
When you first set up Windows Live Mail, you can import your Windows Contacts and they appear to be synced. (In fact, they are, but only at that single point in time.)
If you change any Windows Live Mail contact or add a new one, it does NOT change in Windows Contacts. It only changes in the WLM contacts database. It therefore does NOT sync to your iPhone.
Similarly, if you change a contact on iPhone or add a new one, it will sync with Windows Contacts. However, this does NOT update your Windows Live Contacts.
So, from what I can tell, here is what this means: to maintain a steady state, you have two choices:
Whenever you update or add a contact, add it in either iPhone or Windows Contacts [the Windows Contacts folder has a "New Contact" button], and they will stay in sync with each other. Then manually update or add it in Windows Live Contacts to keep those up to date so you can use them for e-mail.  OR
Whenever you update or add a contact, add it in either iPhone or Windows Contacts, and they will stay in sync with each other. DO NOT manually update Windows Live Contacts, but realize they are not always up to date. If an address needed for an e-mail is not in there, manually retrieve it from your Windows Contacts or your iPhone and insert it into the e-mail. [Having done that, you can right click on the address in the e-mail and add it to your WLM contacts if you want.] Periodically, manually delete all of your Windows Live Mail Contacts and then re-import your Windows Contacts into Windows Live Mail and, voila, your contacts are in sync again! (Isn't that great, I mean really awful??)
NOTE: If you follow course #2, DO NOT import your Windows Contacts into Windows Live Mail contacts without deleting your existing Windows Live Mail contacts, or you will end up with a double set plus the new ones.
FURTHER NOTE: I obviously can't make any guarantee you won't lose data if you follow course #2. Be sure you have a complete backup before deleting your WLM contacts. However, I will say that after experiencing a double set of WLM contacts (by failing to understand the first NOTE above), it was impossible to pick out the new items [WLM will now show you the date of entry or modification of the contact, so you can't sort by date], so I deleted all of them and re-imported my Windows Contacts and had a complete set again.
AND ONE FINAL NOTE: I have not tested how any of this affects Windows Live Contacts used online outside of Windows Live Mail, because I do not use Windows Live online.
Please post further comments if you have any more information on this topic.

  • On a Contacts search, not all contacts appear

    Hi
    I have iphone 5, ios7.
Seemms very odd recently, not using groups - all contacts are displayed. But when I use the 'search' in the Contacts App, not all contacts appear. Dispite the fact that if I scroll through manually, I can see and access the very contact I was searching for. This applies to quite a few contacts without any apparent consistent link between the tricky ones.
    Any ideas folks?
    Many thanks

Thanks for the quick reply :)
The search doesn't work even if I put in a name exactly as its listed. It used to be for example if I typed 'A' then all the names starting with 'A' would list but now I get nothing.

  • My iphone 3G has worked fine via bluetooth with my BMS 3 series (57 plate) until I updated to V.5.0.1 software and now only some but not all contacts are transferred - any ideas?

My iphone 3G has worked fine via bluetooth with my BMS 3 series (57 plate) until I updated to V.5.0.1 software and now only some but not all contacts are transferred and available - any ideas?

    Rodger,
Thank you for your gracious welcome . . .
and thank you for your swift response . . .
and thank you for your information (and encouragement!).
Yes, I read that too, but searched in vain for the specifity of, say, your direction:
"Go ahead and update to 8.0.2, as it contains the 8.0.1 update."
    So I shall!
    Again, many thanks.

  • Not all contacts or calendar entries syncing with Exchange ActiveSync

Just set up Exchange ActiveSync on my new iPhone. Exchange 2007, Outlook 2007, iPhone 2.1. Did my initial sync over the air. All appears good.
Edit some entries in contacts on PC, add some new, etc. Same with calendar. They do not appear to sync over. Odd thing is in contacts they don't show up but yet my count matches between the two systems. Some of the edits don't come over either.
In calendar, some entries are missing.
    Any ideas?

No response from Apple. Calls to support turned up nothing. Problem seems to be a general issue with wireless sync. If I hardwire sync the appointments come over fine. If I do it by wireless, any appointments that are changed are at risk of not coming over.
Others in my office that use Windows Mobile have said same thing from time to time on their end.
Palms never failed like this. I would say Apple and Windows Mobile are not ready for prime time. I hope someone fixes this because the system is not stable.

  • Not all contacts in "To..." field in Nokia Text Me...

    Hello,
I noticed, that in the field "To..." in Nokia Text Message Editor all contacts are not showed.
After the small investigation I came to this it happened because I've set default tel. numbers for voice connections in my Nokia N70. When I switch off them and refresh the contact list in Nokia Text Message all contacts are appear.
In the the previous version of the PC Suite 6.82 wasn't this problem.
In Contacts list on Nokia Phone Browser everything is all right.
I Have Win XP SP2, PC Suite 6.83.14.1 and Nokia N70.
    All in Polish language.
    Could Nokia fix it?
    Regards

Have you tried resetting the sync history on what I assume to be a Mac, which is done via iSync preferences with the iSync application located in your Applications folder?
If not, quit iTunes, the Address Book, and iCal.
Launch the iSync application and after selecting reset sync history via iSync preferences, restart your Mac followed by syncing your iPhone again to check if this resolves the problem.

  • HT4235 not all songs syncing to ipod nano

Good day. I have noticed not all my songs are being synced to my ipod from laptop itunes. They are all checked and purchased. Any ideas ? Thanks

    Hey nanonano27,
Thanks for the question. I understand you are having issues syncing music to your iPod nano. The answer to your question will stem from how you have set up your iPod nano to sync: Automatically, Automatically with Selections, Manually, Autofill. I have included an article that outlines these options:

  • Samsung Note 3 erasing contact info for random contacts - not all contacts.

My Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has begun dropping contacts from my phone list.  I will receive a text from a phone number and realize it is someone who was in my Favorite List and is now removed from contact list completely. Today three people that I call, message or email frequently were simply gone from my phone.   This happens intermittently and is random.    I believe it started after last update when other problems emerged. To stop phone from overheating I had to remove the cover.  I also had to remove my 32 Gb data storage card in order to get phone working properly.   Has anyone else had random contacts erased?   I've read about cases where all contacts were removed but my problem is different.   Thank you in advance to anyone who can help me solve this problem.

brianna8500, sorry to hear about your trouble with the Note 3. Is the phone still over-heating? We want to make sure that doesn't become a bigger problem for you. Please advise.
There can be several possible causes to contacts disappearing. The simplest possible solution is to go to contacts and press the menu button. Select contacts to display and select all. Do the contacts return?
The second most likely cause is the software source backing up the information.  What software do you use to back up your contacts? Do you back up with more than one application. This may lead us to the best answer for you.

  • Not all photos synced to cloud

This is a question about a problem where not all my photos from my Photo library are syncing to the cloud.
I have 41.246 photos in my Photo app library. I enabled cloud sync and I have a 200Gb plan with 130Gb free storage.
Only 28.349 photo's are synced to the cloud.
I learned that only consolidated photos will be synced, but when I select all photos in my library and select Consolidate ... from the menu I get a message that all selected photos are already in the library.
    What am I missing?

    - If the photos were synced to the iPod they are gone
    - If they were taken by or saved to the iPod gp to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and look at the date/time of the iPod backup. If it is when you synced then restoring from backup should get the photos back.
    - If you had turned on Settings>iCloud>PhotoStream, then set up PhotoStream on the computer and get the last 30 days of photos from PhotoStream.  You should also be able to get them back by simply turning one Photostream on the restored iPod.

  • Not all playlists sync when i sync my nano.  3 or 4 are left out for some reason.  any suggestions?

Not all of my playlists sync to my nano (4th generation).  It always leaves out 3 or 4 playlists.  I checked them out and there is nothing different about them...very strange.  Any suggestions?

    Hey there,
How do you have your iPod configured to sync with your iTunes library?  Do you have your content automatically synced or do you manually do it?  What options do you have enabled from under your iPod's Summary and Music tabs?

  • Not all iPhotos sync'ing issue

I recently discovered that my iPhoto library isn't completely syncing with my ATV. I have had the same setup for over a year.
My software is all up-to-date on all devices.
I have a NAS that my library is stored on, along with my iTunes library. No issues other than some quirks of having to sometimes resync photos on my ATV.
On the photo tab when the ATV is selected in iTunes it used to show me how many photos were in each album, etc. Now it just says 0 (zero), but it still sync's 3102 out of my 3673 photos. Basically it syncs up to our summer vacation in August. I cannot for the life of me resolve this...it is like either iTunes or iPhoto has a list somewhere and it is stuck and doesn't see the new photos. Same camera, same setup, but no go. This is what I have tried so far...
    Rebooted ATV...no change.
    Rebooted computer...no change.
    Repaired computer permissions...no change.
Unchecked sync photos and applied changes, ATV deleted all photos, reapplied syncing photos...no change...still the 3102 photos.
Sync'd iTunes with other iPhoto library, it would sync and show me quantity of photos in photo tab, then selected original iPhoto library...no change still 3102 photos and back to not showing quantities of photos in photo tab.
Rebuilt iPhoto database plus repair permissions...no change.
Now I do not have any problem viewing all photos in iPhoto and I can edit them and all is well. There is just some link that is messed up between iTunes and iPhoto which is preventing it in seeing any new pictures.
I have searched for a solution and cannot find one that I haven't tried above.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

Repairing permissions was a radio button in iPhoto when you open iPhoto with option-command.
I have solved the problem...though it is quite weird the way I did it.
I knew it had to be something corrupt within the iPhoto Library. I noted that I couldn't select any pictures from my Library in my desktop/screen saver settings...when I used to be able to.
Hmmm, couldn't understand what was up. Searched and searched for a solution but never came up with anything. Any suggestions didn't work. One thing that I did do before performing a rebuild function on my library was that I duplicated it. During one of my reads on a forum someone else had a different problem with the albumdata.xml file. They too duplicated before working on the library. Out of a whim, he opened up his copy of the library and everything worked fine.
I did this too and low and behold everything works. I have no idea why this would work since it is a duplicate of my original library. I will note that when I first duplicated the library it said it couldn't copy all files. I continued anyways and then checked all the files within each library package...everything looked the same with same sizes and such. When I performed the rebuild on my original library with the repair permissions enabled, I did get a statement saying that not all permissions were correct and if I wanted iPhoto to fix it. I answered yes. The second time I did the rebuild on the same library with that enabled it gave me that statement again, which I thought was weird. I also noted errors in the logs with regard to rebuilding of the thumbnails. All this and iPhoto seemed to be function fine. However, now my photo count is a bit lower but all my photos are there.
Again, I am no expert and don't understand why duplicating the library solves this issue, but it did for me. I renamed my duplicated library to the default iphoto library name and deleted my original library. Then moved the new library to the original location.
Wonder if is should rebuild the new duplicated library or just leave well enough alone?

  • Problems with Android 2.1 for Xperia Mini-Pro: no Twitter on Timescape and not all contacts restored - please help!

Hello all!  I own an Xperia Mini-Pro which I updated with Android 2.1 yesterday.  Having some problems, the main ones being: 1) Timescape does not allow me to sign in to Twitter (it claims my username and password are incorrect, despite successful log-ons with the same details via Twitter Mobile); and 2) not all my backed-up contacts have been restored to my phonebook (and yet they still exist somewhere in the phone - I know this because I can bring up full contact details for people who've sent me SMS - but I cannot find them if I use the phonebook interface).  Someone please help?  Cheers - Jos

I suggest that you try to clear data and any cache in for the Timescape app.
Menu> Settings> Applications> Manage Applications> Click on the first hardware button (the one with four squares)> Filter> All> Timescape> Clear data and any cache.
Then check if you get the same error when trying to log in to Twitter.
Regarding the contacts I think you should check if they maybe filtered in the phone book. Open the phone book and click on the first hardware button (the one with four squares) > Contacts to view.
Check if some of your contacts might be filtered.

  • N95 and CK-15W - Not ALL contacts synchronised...

I use Greek language in both. CK-15W ONLY gets 58 contacts (I have a total of >150) in my phone. CAN ANYONE HELP ME to SOLVE this?
    Maybe a NOKIA technician?
    THANKS

All contacts must be saved to the phone memory and not the sim card.
Once all contacts are on the phone memory, disconnect, delete the pairing and start the pairing again from the beginning.
Also make sure you have the laest software in the N95 by loading pc suite on your computer and selecting software updater:

  • How to fix problem with not all contacts on iphone syncing to iMac?

Working on my iMac (running 10.6.8) and trying to look up a contact that's in my iphone (running iOS 5.0.1) contacts, I noticed that at least one (maybe more) of the contacts I've added to the phone are not getting added to the contacts on my iMac when i sync "all address book contacts."  What do I need to change or do to make sure that both locations have both sets of complete contacts.  (Note - I most often add new contacts to the phone and expect them to transfer to the desktop when I perform a sync later.)
    Your help is appreciated.  Thanks.

    Valerie...
Working on my iMac (running 10.6.8)
You need a Mac running V10.7.2 Lion in order to enable iCloud. That's why contacts aren't syncing with your iPhone.
What do I need to change or do to make sure that both locations have both sets of complete contacts.
You need to upgrade to Lion but first make sure your Mac meets  Lion's requirements
You can download Lion from the App Store.

  • Not all contacts have synced? Is there still some bugs to be worked out? How can I cause iCloud to re-sync my contacts?

My sisters information in particular is showing up on none of my devices. Is there some way to make sure that it resyncs with my contacts??

For this situation, you can only try the iPhone contacts recovery software to have a try.
This post on the blog you can refer to get your contacts back.
    http://easy-iphone-recovery.blogspot.com/2013/11/recover-lost-contacts-after-upg rade-to.html
Please follow the way 1 to get your lost contacts.
Way 1: Directly Recover lost contacts from iPhone
    1. Run iPhone Data Recovery for iOS.
    2. Connect your device (eg. iPhone 5). Choose“Recover from iOS Device”.
    3. Start to scan your device(eg. iPhone 5) for lost data on it. Please click “Start Scan” to begin scanning it.
    4. After the scan, you can preview all data found on your device(eg. iPhone 5) in the scan result. Click the categories on the left side of the window like camera roll, contacts, messages, etc. You can preview all the details of them (except for videos). Mark what you want and click “Recover” to save them on your computer with one click.
    Good luck.
