Not all itunes match songs working suddenly

I fell in love with itunes.  For 3 months it's been the center of my life.  In my home (via airport express, or appletv), driving around or in another city.
Suddenly, many of my songs are not playing.  What happens is, I'll play a song, and it will immediately skip down my playlist until it finds another song it can play.  It's weird, because this never happened before.  This happens on both wifi and cellular.
Suggestions?

On your computer, go to >iTunes>store>turn OFF iTunes Match.  Do the same on your mobile device,  then turn both back on again,

  • Can not download iTunes Match songs on my Mac. iPhone, iPad work fine.

I can not download iTunes Match songs on my Mac. It gives an error stating that only one Apple ID can be used at a time with iTunes Match and asks me to wait 72 days until I can download any songs!? Tried to turn off iTunes Match in an attempt to reset it. And now I can't turn it back on. Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm pretty sure the songs will need to be physically present on the computer you are syncing the Nano with, but I'm not 100% sure.
Edit: I just attempted to sync music that I have stored in the iCloud, but not written on my harddrive to an iPod Classic and it only syncs the music that is present on the computer. I tried to grab a few iCloud file and throw it on the iPod, but I had to download them before it would work.
So, yes. You do have to have the files already downloaded to sync to a non iOS 5 iDevice.

  • Can not get Itunes match to work. It stops on the first step and on my status bar it just says "sending information to apple" this goes on for hours. Help please.

Help please. I cannt get itunes match to work. It just stops on the first step and the status bar continues to say "sending information to apple" for hours. Any ideas?

I am having a similar issue with iTunes Match. It keeps hanging up on the same number of files (11035 of 15455) during STEP 2. I've tried signing out, re-opening iTunes, re-booting, etc. Still comesup stuck for hours. What I also don't understand is why the "iCloud Status" option in "View/View Options" disappears intermittently. It was there when I first booted up this morning and I reviewed all my music files to see if there were any "errors" and there werne't any. But after Match gets stuck on the same file niumber (11035) I 've signed out and re-booted and now the "iCloud Status" check box is missing from "View Options" (only the "iCloud Download" option remains present all the time. Please help. (I've also checked to make sure all the music files are within the suggested bit rate parameters and file type - This is also a brand new iMac out of the box). Running out of troubleshooting ideas and beginning to think this service just doesn't work well.

  • Is there a way to not show iTunes Match songs?

Hy, I'm thinking of purchasing iTunes Match to make it a bit easier to share our different libraries. I have read the issues about about multiple apple ID's etc. My main issue however is that I take great care to have an organised Library with correct metadata (names, album art, etc). My family however does not and apart from when I want to download a certain song from them I really don't want to have their whole "messed up" library to show up. Is there a way to do that? I'm okay with activating and deactivating it but I've also read that some people had some problems with that and had to wait 90 days before they could reactivate the account.
So to recapitulate what would you suggest to share music without having other peoples library's messing mine up?
P.S. I use Homesharing when I can but I'm a student so I'm not always home and my father works abroad and it would be nice to have all time access to everybody's music.

iTunes Match is associated with one Apple ID and regional iTunes Store. There is no sharing of the service across Apple IDs. So if you purchase the service for one Apple ID everyone who wants to use it must then use that Apple ID.
As to your question about ID3 tags, iTunes Match does not "clean up" ID3 tags. The tags in the library are untouched.

  • I can not get itunes match to work with my ipad.  I am subscribed but when i go to turn it on it keeps telling me that i am not subscribed.  how do i fix this?

I subscribed to itunes match. I have it working on my iphone but can't get it to work on my ipad.  I did the same exact steps that I did for my iphone but when i try to turn it on it keeps telling me I am not subscribed and to subscribe through itunes on my PC.  I've already paid and subscribed to iTunes match and do not know why I keep getting this error message.  When I am in itunes on my PC I can see that my ipad is not authorized with that account and do not know if that is the problem.  If so how do I authorize my ipad?  I've used the store drop down box and choose authorize this computer but it keeps trying to authorize my PC and not my ipad.  I am running the most current version of the ipad and itunes.

  • After turning on iTunes Match, songs in playlist are in the wrong order across all devices.

So in iTunes, my client had several playslists, all with songs in a specific manual order.  None of them are smart playlists.
After iTunes Match was activated, the song order seems to have changed in every playlist and on one iPhone where the same iTunes Match account was also enabled on.
We know they are in a different order as an iPod touch that does NOT have iTunes Match enabled yet still has the original order.
Just wondering what the best way to fix this would be.  Should we manually drag the songs to the right order or is there a simpler way to revert to how they were ? Also would manually moving the update the order across all iTunes Match devices ?

This worked although it was very clumsy (we had almost 3,000 files that had to be deleted and redownloaded. I could not figure out a way to sort all of the 'exclamation points' together so it took an hour or so to scan through the entire library list and delete each file individually and/or in small groups.) The download was very straight forward. In my experience (with iTunes match turned on,) we did NOT loose our playcounts.
Going through all those files I noticed several common themes that may have triggered the problem: 1) multiple artists, 2) special characters in the song title, artist and/or album name - particularly umlauts (we have quite a few german songs in our library.) 3) very long title, artist and/or album names.
I hope that someone from Apple is aware of these issues and working on them....

  • Itunes match wont work at all

as many people seem to be having the same problem i thought i would give the forum a go,
basicly my itunes match obnly works some of the time. after adding a new song to my cimputer and adding it to icloud it never shows up of my device for me to download, so when trying all the tricks of turning itunes off and on on the device that does not work either. also with turning itunes match off and on on the computer. i have even tried de-authorising the computer and re-authorising it. but i have an even larger problem. after turning off itunes match on my phone and turning it back on it doesnt seem to want to recognise any of my playlists. all the music is there but every one of my playlists has vanished.
does anyone know anything that will fix the problem or anything that i could try that i havent alreay?
    Thanks

Feeling your pain, and ready to toss the whole thing out the window. Have installed iTunes 7.5 and Quicktime 7.3 successfully on two other desktops in the house (one an identical Dell to this one) but am having the exact same problem as others describe. Tried numerous times to uninstall and reinstall with no luck. Uninstalled them both and installed an OLD version of iTunes (3.1) from the CD that came with an iPod three years ago and was at least able to play most songs but could not play some iTunes Store purchased music ("computer not authorized") that played fine previously and could not purchase music (a dialogue box popped up and said we had to update to a new version of iTunes - great, would love to...but!!!!). Then my daughter downloaded Quicktime 7.3 as as a dialogue prompted that and we ended up with the same problem as before: iTunes 3.1 would no longer run. I would like to download the earler version of i.tunes 7.X that worked for us until the attempt to get 7.5 and an earlier version of Quicktime but don't know where to get a reliable version. Apple, you had better fix this as you are getting a few very unhappy customers! Thanks.

  • Itunes Match Songs are all there but won't play

I've been using iTunes Match at work pretty regulary and I've notived that, seemingly randomly, I'll open iTunes and all my music will be there... however doub;e-clicking a song or or hitting PLAY does nothing.  No error message; no nothing.  Th ePLAY button is isn't ghosted or anything.
I've tried goifn Store . Update iTunes Match.  That doesn't work.  The only thing that seems to work is turning match completely off and then back on again.
Any idea why this would be happening?

Well the odd thing is that everything works perfectly fine most of the time.  However, 10% of te time, Match enterest his stange state where songs won't play.  Nothing changes in the iCloud Status field.  You can even edit metadata like rating and song-names.  Songs just won't play... nor will they download.
Based on the above, I don't think it's a corportate firewall issue  (neither does my IT guy).

  • Hello, my iTunes dates are crashed on my mac, how can I download all my itunes match songs and save on my mac?

Hello, my iTunes dates are crashed on my mac, how can I download all my itunes match songs and save on my mac?

    Hi mrmoo13!
You have a couple of options for transferring your music library from one computer to another. First, you can download all of your music that is stored in the cloud on iTunes Match by following the instructions on this page:
iTunes 11 for Mac: Access all your music anytime, anywhere with iTunes Match
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12284
You can follow steps listed in the section right here:
Play or download songs from iCloud
You can play songs directly from iCloud, or you can download songs so you can play them when you’re not connected to the Internet.
If a song is available in iCloud, it has a Download button next to it.
To play the song, double-click it.
To download the song, click the Download button.
After you download a song to a computer, it remains in the computer’s iTunes library, even if you turn off iTunes Match.
To only display downloaded songs in your iTunes library, choose View > Hide Music in the Cloud. This also hides any previous iTunes Store purchases you haven’t downloaded.
For information about downloading and playing songs on an iOS device, see the documentation for the device.
In order to make it easier to download all of your music, you can highlight all of the songs in your iTunes Match section and then click download, as mentioned in these instructions.
You can also choose to transfer the music from your old computer to the new one by following the steps in this article, whcih will give you some other options for doing this transfer:

  • I accidentally deleted my music library from my old Mac and now I have a new Mac. Can i restore all my music somehow? Even though not all 10,000 songs were purchased from iTunes Store?

Can i restore all my music somehow? Even though not all 10,000 songs were purchased from iTunes Store?
Im so devastated and desperate to get my music back.
I deleted my User Account from the old Laptop

Unless you subscribe to iTunes Match , Apple does not keep a backup of your iTunes library.  Even then it is not the library as it exists on your computer, but some version of the media, and only media files, not playlists.  Even then not all media are definitely available since anything removed from the iTunes Store since you purchased it is not available for re-download.

In your case it sounds like you will have to obtain non iTunes purchases from their original source or a backup you may have made at some time in the past.

  • HT4914 I cannot get Itunes match to work on my iphone? All settings are correct.

I cannont get Itunes match to work on my new iPhone. It works on my IPAD, IPOD and other devices.

Confirm that you have subscribed to iTunes Match on your computer.  Then on your phone go to Settings>iTunes & App Stores, confirm that you are signed into the Apple ID you used to subscribe to iTunes Match, then turn iTunes Match and Show All Music to On.
If it still isn't working, turn it off on your phone, go back to iTunes on your computer and turn iTunes Match off (Store>Turn Off iTunes Match).  Then turn it back on and wait for your library to be scanned.  Then turn it back on on your phone again.

  • Not all of my songs from itunes are appearing in garageband.

Not all of my songs from itunes are appearing in garageband. I want to make a ringtone with a certain song but its not there. How do I get it to be there?

Is it a song you have purchased? Maybe your song is protected by digital right management? Then it will not show up in GarageBand. Have a look in the Information panel if the kind of the song is "Protected".
