Not all keys responding - can it be remapped ?

not all my Macbook pro keys are responding and some seem remapped. How can I remap the keyboard to original settings. I can type using the keyboard viewer and the mouse - a real drag- any ideas?

Go into your System Preferences, Universal Access, and choose Mouse & Trackpad.
Chances are "Mouse Keys" is turned On. Turn it off, and you'll be set.
Ever since Apple removed the "numlock" on certain MacBook models, there's apparently some shortcut you can inadvertently hit that turns this on, and when you do, your i key becomes a mouse click, and the characers around the i actually operate the mouse (this is what Mouse Keys does).
It's frustrating and I only just now figured it out myself.

The "restore disk" is built into the Mac. See About Recovery.
Need more specifics about what error messages you got while installing Adobe Flash.
However, you can almost avoid Flash altogether by setting YouTube to play the HTML5 version instead.
Click the Try something new! link at the bottom of the YouTube page.
I don't know about the sound issue. Might be hardware as you think. Try other headphones to check.

To see all the photos on the phone, including photos that have already been imported into iPhoto, deselect the "Hide Photos Already Imported" checkbox. If the camera contains photos that have already been imported into iPhoto, those photos are hidden by default.

The number of tabs that you can show at once is limited by the size of the canvas. If you have too many tabs, then you can set up one tab to be a 'MORE'. When the user clicks on it, it hides the current set of tabs and displays the set of tabs that were not shown. By having a MORE for each set of tabs, you can toggle between the sets of tabs. The Help documentation describes how to show and hide tabs, and how to set focus to a particular tab.

Query execute warning - Not all info-objects can be read

When I execute query, I get warning "Not all infobjects can be read". This happens only with business user ids and not with developer IDs. Long text is -
Inconsistent InfoObjects exist in the system. The inconsistency may be caused by a program termination while saving or activating the InfoObject or in its after import treatment.
We are not able to trace which info-object is having problem. Problem is also while displaying data in LISTCUBE. Is this has to do anything with authorizations? We are not able to catch exact source of problem. Any ideas will be helpful.

Iphoto 09 - after install, not all photo's can be printed - help

After installing iphoto, not all of my photo's were displaying. and when I had tried to print, only original photo's would print. if a duplicated or edited photo was selected, it would just look like a screen dump. I have uninstalled the software and re-installed it. the same problem occured. When I reinstalled it, the faces did not run. help please!

i think i found a solution. rebuilding the photo database and fixing permissions did not correct a problem with 1 of the 4 photos I was attempting to print. Editing the photo in iPhoto may have resulting in the photo becoming corrupted. To make a long story short ... I used Time Machine to retrieve an earlier version of the corrupted photo, and all seems to be well.

Diagnosis
You cannot maintain all of the profitability segments in the current transaction. This could be due to the following:
1. Errors occurred when characteristic values were derived for the profitability segments.
If this is the case, you can display the error messages under the menu option "Extras -> Error logs -> Derivation".

The characteristic "PRCTR" ("Profit Center") should be posted to Profitability Analysis (CO-PA). When the system checked the entries, it was established that the transferred characteristic value (" 1000 YB999") is not valid in CO-PA.

Hi Kamala,
I would kindly ask you to check transaction OKEQN with your relevant planning version you are using in KEPM and where the above error occurs.
The system checks within derivation (where the error comes from) if the characteristic value is valid for a specific date set within the version (thus trans. OKEQN). If you have PRCTR '1000 102C511' not valid for the date set in the version within OKEQN, then this error message is justified, as the system realises that the PRCTR was not valid by that time.
Could you please check this? If the profit center is not valid for this date please adjust the date to a more recent one.

After moving profile, not all addons work -- can't reinstall

I moved my FF profile from old computer running ubuntu to new one with opensuse. I used directions at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles
Seems that most eveything transferred correctly except two addons: Session Manager & Pocket. Removed them both with intention to reinstall. I am unable to do so and am presented with the same error for both:

When attempting to install the normal way is exactly when I was getting the error messages I mentioned in the first post.
Anyway, I left out what I believe now is the critical detail: that the profile was moved from a partition that had to be rescued. It initially looked like all the data was saved but I've since discovered that a small percentage of the files on the disk were corrupted.
The corrupted files must have included those for Session Manager and Pocket as I've been able to reinstall them by manually "save link as" downloading the xpis and then renaming or unpacking the files. It still remains to be seen whether or not I can do a normal install with an addon I didn't already have.

Illuminated macbook keyboard- not all keys illuminated.

im hoping maybe some one can help me figure something out.
i have a 2.4 Ghz aluminium macbook i got apple refurbished about a year ago.
i noticed this morning that only a few of the keys are illuminating fully in the center of the keyboard
while the rest are very dim to the point of being useless.
i have not had this problem before and it was working fine on when i last had them illuminated on thursday, today is monday.
anyone know what could have caused this and if there is a solution?
any help would be great. its not a massive issue everything else is working fine.
its just a little annoying.

I just noticed 2 other things in regards to your post.
1) Sorry, I meant to type your dumb sisters drunken friends ... and not her boyfriend.
2) I also noticed you have a unibody construction. Im afraid you might have to replace the top case.
Newer "chicklet" constructed key sets are normally attached directly to the top case, but you might want to confirm that with Apple. The Mac Book air keyboard is attached to the top case and is only replaceable when purchasing the entire top case. If its any consolation, it will more than likely repair the other issues you mentioned in your last post in regards to the clicking and trackpad problems as well.

Not all "reverse" actions can be scripted?

A new newbie question of the day. Is it the case that ScriptListener will log specific individual tasks performed in Photoshop, but not their reverse? For example, I can see a logging of opening an image and using it to create a Pattern (via the Edit menu item for that). No problem. But when I want to choose that Pattern for another task or I want to delete it, that is not captured in the log ... what gives?
Any feedback appreciated.

What I did was as follows:
- opened Photoshop and opened an image
- created a Pattern from that image (Define Pattern)
- added a Layer
- selected the Pattern Stamp tool and a Tool Preset
All of these tasks are logged by ScriptListener.
Then next:
- went to the Pattern selection drop-down in the horizontal toolbar and selected the new Pattern ...
I cannot find a log for this.
And next:
- deleted that Pattern ... (so as to start over)
This does seem to be logged. My mistake earlier.

Not all my photos can be imported from iPod touch

I have Windows Vista and I was importing photos from my iPod to my computer the usual way, right click iPod in computer and it starts importing. Problem is it says I have 1464 photos and its importing them but I have 2200 photos... I've reconnected a bunch of times but no luck.

You would like to design a data model for SEM-BPS and you are not sure, whether to use the key figure or the account model.
You are looking for proposals for data modelling.

Cause and prerequisites
In the following you find a simple example by means of which the terms key figure and account model are defined.
In the example we want to assign several key figures (for example revenues) to a characteristic (for example customer), whose units (for example currency DM) are identical.A modeling option, which is called key figure model, contains all key figures in one data record.

In the account model, on the other hand, an additional characteristic is added, which separates the revenue types.

Advantages and disadvantages from the point of view of data modelling
You can easily add an additional revenue type in the account model, because you do not have to change the data structure.In the key figure model, on the other hand, you must add an additional key figure to the structure.It actually depends on the frequency of these changes occurring.
A data record that is to be changed by a processor, is exclusively locked by SEM-BPS for this processor.A lock that only concerns individual key figures of a data record is not possible.As a consequence the different revenue types can be changed simultaneously by different processors in the account model, wheras in the key figure model one processor automatically locks all key figures exclusively for his own use.
If you use a planning function in the account or key figure model, a different Customizing is required in general. Consequently, a conversion of the data model leads to a change of Customizing in general.
Advantages and disadvantages from the technical point of view
The transaction data is stored in the BW.Analyses have shown that the read time basically depends on the number and not on the size of the data records.In the above example you can see that by changing the key figure and account model the number of records increases by factor 3, which means that you must expect longer read times.When determining the factor you must take into account that normally not all key figures are used in every record in the key figure model.As a consequence only those records are created when changing to the account model, for which the key figures are not equal to zero.
Example:
So if in the above example the key figure Revenue_1 is not used, only two records are generated and consequently the value of the factor is also reduced to 2.
After the transaction data has been read from the BW, it is stored in the application server's memory.The amount of memory required depends, among other things, on the number and on the length of the records.The length can be influenced by the data model you choose:in the key figure model the records are longer than in the account model and therefore consume more memory for each record. Therefore, the key figure or account model will require less memory depending on the relationship between record length and number of records.
When the data model is changed, also the planning functions must be revised.Depending on the type of calculation there might be advantages for one of the models.
Example and rules of thumb
The following example contains 30 key figures, which were mapped to 3 key figures and one additional characteristic with a maximum of 10 characteristic values when you changed to the account model.In both models a price calculation between three key figures each was executed.Consider the specifications in the table as relative specifications:For the number of data records you for example find a and a*10.This means that in the second case the number of data records is larger by factor 10 than in the first case.The determination of the relationships is based on 5000 data records in the key figure model.

How are the sizes determined?

1. a: In the statistics of SEM-BPS or BW this value is stored when you execute a planning function. The method has the name 0-DB1.
2. l: The above statistical record also contains the execution time.
3. t: In the statistics of SEM-BPS a record is stored for the planning function.The overall runtime of the planning function contains the database time. Therefore the database time must be subtracted from the runtime of the planning function to determine t.
4. d: The data record length corresponds to the data structure length (ABAP length), which is generated for every area.The name is made up as follows:
Prefix: /1SEM/_YS_DATA_
Client: mmm
Name of the area: gggggggg
The client must always be specified with three digits, the area only in its actual length.The name for an area called 'MYAREA' which is in client 001 is for example /1SEM/_YS_DATA_001MYAREA.When you determine the length, note that there is the dictionary and the ABAP length (Transaction SE11 => Extras => Structure width => ABAP length) and that the total of the two structures contained must be determined.In the structure stated above, for example /1SEM/_YS_CHAS_001MYAREA and /1SEM/_YS_KYFS_001MYAREA are contained.The total is the length you are looking for.
5. m: After executing the planning function, start Transaction STAD and find the appropriate statistical record for the dialog step, in which you have executed the planning function.The record contains a memory specification, which is the desired value for s.
Solution
Bear in mind that the values from the example are not generally valid, but were determined from a specific example.We recommend that you determine the parameters (both the values of the variables and of the relationships) for your specific case and to use it as the basis for discussion.You should not choose too few data records, because the fixed memory consumers predominate otherwise.

Not all chinese characters display correctly with non-embedded text

I've updated to the last beta 2 of Flash Player 10.1 (10,1,51,66) and compiled this simple Flex application to illustrate the fact that not all chinese characters can be displayed correctly with non-embedded text (device font).

Notice that characters from the Unicode range 0x4F1E .. 0x4А2D are not displayed within <s:Label> component that uses Flash Text Engine (FTE) by default to display the text, but at the same time those characters display just fine within older <mx:Label> component that relies on flash.text.TextField instance to render the text.

Tough decision ahead, but accordingly to the survey at codestyle.org (2000 participants from 2007 year and onwards), Arial Unicode MS is present at 62.53%% system surveyed.
ps
   My current install of Windows XP already includes the install of Microsoft Office 2007 and I've also enabled/disabled the support of East Asian languages, thus the content of my "fonts" folder differs now significantly from "clean" Windows XP install version.
Nevertheless I found the page with comprehensive lists of standard fonts installed with different releases of Windows that looks viable here: http://www.kayskreations.net/fonts/fonttb.html
