Not all of the gestures work with my mid-2009 macbook's trackpad. How do I fix this?

I recently upgraded to OS 10.7. I can make the two-finger scrolling work, but I can't make the mission control or zoom gestures work. How do I properly configure configure the built-in trackpad?

The Mid 2009 is the model 5,2. These have the two button trackpad which is limited to the two finger gestures. You need the model 5,1, 6,1 or 7,1 with the buttonless glass muti-touch trackpad for the four finger gestures.

• If you have not already done so, shut down Mac, restart,
    and try again. If the iSight still does not work, continue.

   hardware problem that will require a professional fix.
   Unless you have a current backup, make one now.

use your Mac's Disk Utility to repair permissions. Then
download and apply the latest Combo Update for

Properly applying the Combo version of updates can sometimes correct software problems, but, if your trouble is caused by a hardware problem, there are no user serviceable parts of the camera.

My iTunes was working fine, all my CDs would import fully and quickly. Now they are importing slowly and when the CDs get to the last track they don't import and the CD drive just keeps spinning without doing anything! How can I fix this?

Likely that CD then. Check visually for damage, blemishes, etc., not that there's anything you can really do about those other than return the CD.
The drive sits there and spins because it is trying to re-read the CD. iTunes has error correction which is contributing to all this re-reading, I believe, and you may be able to disable that in preferences if you aren't picky about the result.
You can also try other rippers such as Max or XLD. I know those have configurable error correction. I like XLD but it is slightly tricky to use until you find that for some reason the author has put all settings under preferences, not just the set once and forget ones.

You can't. Theoretically, Thunderbolt devices that only transfer video and audio should work with Mini DisplayPort MacBooks like yours, but it's not the case of the Thunderbolt Display. Its firmware doesn't allow it to be used with non-Thunderbolt Macs, so you can't use the Thunderbolt Display with the Mid 2010 MacBook Pro.
Instead, you have to look for another screen, or you can get an adapter and connect the MacBook Pro to a TV

I just noticed that one of the restore methods you posted was to put it into Disk Mode First rather than just use the resstore straight off, I Have tried that and seems to have solved the problem, If it has thank you. previously I have only tried just restoring it skipping this extra step. Visual Voicemail is all carrier side, funny enough. Apple can't really do anything to troubleshoot it because it's outside of their realm. Be sure to contact your cellular carrier for further assistance

Check Finderr->Preferences->General and ensure that HDs are selected for display. If so and they still don't, Reset the NVRAM/PRAM and Reset the SMC, and see if that does the trick.

Turn off iMessage on the iPhone as should have been done prior to switching devices.
Settings > Messages > iMessage > OFF
