Not All Purchased Music Will Copy To iPod

Some of my purchased music will not copy to my iPod, giving my the "...your computer is not authorized..." message. The "uncopyable" will play on my computer. I've de-authorized and re-authorized this computer. I've reloaded the iTunes software. Any help out there?

Yeah, that happens a lot, but there can be all sorts of fixes for it.

What is the date of the iPod Updater? The newest is 2006-03-23.

Have you played at least a few seconds of a song from the album that won't transfer?

  • Purchased music will not play on iPod after iTunes 6.0.1 (3)

After upgrading to iTunes 6.0.1 (3) and then syncing my iPod Photo I can no longer play songs purchased in iTunes on my iPod (cds copied to iTunes play fine). The music (and album art) for the iTunes purchased shows up on the iPod, but the iPod just quickly cycles through any purchased music without playing it - this applies to all purchased music (recently purchased and stuff purchased 9 months ago when I got my iPod). The music plays fine using iTunes on my laptop. I have the latest firmware update on the iPod Photo (1.2).
    Any thoughts/help are appreciated.

seems like Apple wants us to illegaly obtain the songs from now on. You know the story about starving musician, poor janitor at studio, well it is not important now.
I am done with being cool, now i want something that will actually work. lets see how long will it take for iTunes update to come accros, and will anyone in Apple say we are sorry guys, we screwed up. hmmm, maybe refund for all the songs you purchased would be fair, you know guys we sold you and told you it will work on your coputer, but look surprise they dont. no, not even crappy explanation, just new update.

  • I need to find out how to transfer all the music from my old IPOD to my new IPOD.  Not all of my music was purchased on ITUNES.

I need to find out how to transfer all my music from my original IPOD nano to my new IPOD nano.   I want to keep both and not all of my music was purchased on ITUNES.  Please help!

Your music should be in your iTunes library, that is how it gets synced to the iPod. If that music is not present in the iTunes library, you will need to get a 3rd party software for the computer to get the music off the original iPod and then move it to the iTunes library to be able to sync it to the new iPod. You can see some additional information in this tip supplied by a fellow user. Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive

  • I reinstalled my computer's operating system.  How do I transfer music from my Ipod to my music library?  It transfered some, but not all my music.  I authorized the computer, but it did not help.

The sync is one way - computer to ipod.  The only exception is itunes purchases.
The ipod is not a backup device.
You need to copy everything back using your backup copy.

Probably not enough memory on your device. Also, if most of the songs on your library are ripped from cds, you will not be able to transfer those from your device to your computer. Try checking the articles below:

My new yahoo account nestles comfortably in iCloud on the mine iPad.
No, your Yahoo account is not in iCloud (which only handles iCloud mail), it is in Yahoo, and the Yahoo mail account is on your iPad.
But the MacBook Pro will have none of it! I write this question now as I fear that I will be totally demented very soon and unable to formulate my thoughts clearly!
Get the correct settings for your account from Yahoo and set it up manually.
By the way, I also find the "password" issue problematical. It seems Apple want my Apple password rather than my eMail password. All very confusing.
That would depend on what you are trying to do.

  • When i sync my ipod, i have notice that not all the music syncs and when i click on the ipod tab, some of the music has a round/two arrows?! How can i sort this out?!

When i sync my ipod, i have noticed on the left hand side, under devices, my ipod, when i click on music, some of the songs are grey, and the others are black. The ones which are grey have a round circle with two arrows in. These are the ones which havent copied onto my ipod. I had no problem before until recently and all of a sudden! Can anyone please help me sort this out so that all my music will transfer onto my ipod, i have been trying for over a week!

Never mind, the problem just fixed itself when i searched for an artist that wasn't there. That was odd.

if I change my apple id will I loose all purchased music and videos?

Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you would like to change the email address that you use as your Apple ID, you can do so without losing purchased content. Note that email addresses ending with @icloud.com, @me.com, or @mac.com are already Apple IDs, and cannot be changed.

  • Is it possible to get a copy of all purchased music from itunes?

Hi, My copy of itunes reinstalled itself, so all of my purchased music is now only in the music file. From multiple imports, there are two, three or four copies of most songs in the itunes music library, except for the purchased music, which is only in the Windows music folder. Thought I would delete everything and start over. It would be easier than fixing this mess. I am wondering if it is possible to get a complete purchase history from itunes so that I can save all purchased music before I purge this mess out of my system? Music is taking up 60Gb when it should only be about 15 Gb. Any help would be appreciated.

You can list your purchase history in your iTunes store account.
Also you should have a purchased music playlist.
The other way of doing it is use the "Kind" column. If you don't see it, go to View>>Options and check "Kind"
Purchased music shows up as "Protected AAC" or for iTunes Plus, "Purchased AAC". You can use Kind to make a smart playlist containing purchased music - if you don't have already have a purchased playlist.
But be very careful about deleting music files and make sure you have good backups in case you make a mistake. Don't rely on the recycle bin - it doesn't usually have room for large numbers of music files.

Try deleting and redownloading the music.

  • Not playing purchased music and movies...

My new iPod touch isn't playing some of my purchased music and movies. It will not play any movies at all. When I try, a pop up appears saying "This movie could not be played." And from what I've noticed all purchased music bought before 1/1/09, do not play. That's what I've noticed, however, I'm not 100% positive.

See: https://discussions.apple.com/message/23399558#23399558 to determine if there are the same problems you are experiencing.  I  have spent over 6 hours on this issue trying to isolate if it is a  hardware, software, network, iTunes account, or Apple device issue.  My  initial results indicate it is a software specific issue related to the  Apply TV hardware device. it appears for some, resetting the software works, or others - signing back in, for others, nothing works....
