Not all selected pictures are shared in album sharing in Photostream

I am trying to share an album with my friends on photostream. After i selected the album, added the friends, and waited for ever to upload the pictures, I realized that not all the pictures are available on the shared album. So i had to go back again and check the photos one by one to see what has been uploaded and what is missing to reupload them manually. This can get very tiring in large albums.
I guess mmy question is this:
Why is it doing that ? and how can i avoid such behaviour?
Is there a way that i can monitor / check the photos uploaded to make sure that the full album is there online ?

Hello Karim Zaafan,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
I was thinking that it might be a good idea to see if perhaps you are bumping up to the limits of Shared Photo Streams.
iCloud: Photo Stream limits
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4858
Shared Photo Stream limits
The current Shared Photo Stream hourly and daily limits are as follows:
Maximum number of photos to share per hour: 1,000
Maximum number of photos to share per day: 10,000
These sharing limits are separate from the upload limits above. For example, in the same day you could upload 10,000 photos to My Photo Stream and then share those 10,000 photos, or 10,000 other photos. Some additional limits for Shared Photo Stream usage:
Maximum shared streams an owner can share: 100
Maximum shared streams a user can subscribe to: 100
Maximum subscribers per shared stream: 100 (the number of subscribers on each shared stream)
Maximum number of photos per shared stream: 1,000
Maximum number of comments per shared stream photo: 200 (a comment can be either a like or a text entry)
Maximum characters per comment: 200
Maximum number of invites a shared stream owner may send per day: 200
Also I would recommend this precautionary step from iCloud: Photo Stream troubleshooting found http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3989
Ensure your iOS device has not fallen below 20% battery power. To preserve battery life, Photo Stream downloading and uploading are disabled when the battery reaches this threshold. Downloading and uploading will resume once you charge your device, and the battery charge is greater than 20%.
Cheers,
Sterling

when i plug my phone into my PC i have around 5 or 6 files all containing pictures in a weird order (not sure why they aren't in one folder it was automatically put that way), all together adding up the amount of pictures in all folders there are about 1700 but on my phone i have 2300+, why are all my pictures not loading? i need help quickly as i'm going traveling in 9 days and i need to free the space on my phone.
Thanks for your time and help.
my ios is 7.0 and it isn't because i don't have the new ios because i've had this problem for awhile now (around 6 months)

  • Not all selected files are actually opened

Have previously posted on the issue with selecting multiple files in Finder, then opening in Preview... to have not all the files actually open. I've now discovered that this is happening in Photoshop CS3 as well. I just selected four files in Finder and Open with > them in Photoshop CS3. Only one opened. I've repeated this behavior.
None of these were saved from the Internet. All are image files which were emailed to me, and saved out from Mail.
    Is it a quarantine issue?
How the heck do I turn off this quarantine P.O.S. if that's what's causing this. At the moment, I've got a brand-new $2600 paperweight.

Try selecting several PDFs. Double click on one of the selected ones, or Right click > Open With > Preview.app. What happens? I'm not getting the issue you are.
However, Adobe has stated that CS3 is not fully compatible with Snow Leopard, so this might just be a compatibility quirk for the Photoshop. I don't know what you're doing with Preview.
Why would you think it's a "quarantine issue"?

  • Not all iphoto pictures are available for sync with ipad2

    Hallo,
I am a new apple user. Have iTunes latest version on my MacMini. Want to sync all of my photos from iPhoto to my iPad2. Problem: not all Photos are available for sync.
Why doesn´t iTunes see all of my Photos?
    Thanks for answer.
    Iceman21

It is not a problem of iPad2 because I have the same problem with my iPhone.
e.g.: I can see the event in iTunes but with 0 photos. So iTunes find the events but not the content???

  • Not all my pictures are streaming to my pc

I just got back from vacation and I have 313 photos in my photo stream folder.  When I check my photo stream folder on my windows 8 pc there is only 292photos.  I have tried logging off then back on to icloud on the pc and 6 more photos showed up, but I am still missing a few.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Keep it simple if possible.

Not if your intent is to "store" more pictures. You would need more storage if the size of the data you are backing up on your devices connected to iCloud exceeded the storage capacity you have.
For example, if you have three devices attached to the same iCloud account, and on those three devices have 5G of music, photos, data, etc. that you are backing up, then you would need to have at least 20 GB of iCloud storage in order to be able to create your backups for those devices.
iCloud is there for you to do regular backups of your devices, so that if one needs to be restored, you will be able to recover everything on that device at the time it fails from the most recent backup you have done to iCloud.
But for your photos, you should be regularly backing them up to either your Mac, PC, or an Archival Cloud service, as well as to a secondary backup method, like a separate drive. Otherwise, there is a great risk that you may end up losing valuable photos in the event of a failure.
    Cheers,

  • Not all the pictures in iPhoto album show on iPhone photo

In one album in Iphoto not all the pictures show on Iphone photo album?

Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for the iPod Photo Cache.
Trash it. Start iPhoto and try sync again.

  • I had to restore my iPhone 4 and now all my pictures are gone. I don't have them backed up to my laptop, and I thought that they automatically backed up to iCloud but I'm not sure. I had a lot of pictures that i desperately want to get back PLEASE HELP

You should be importing pics to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera.  Nothing should only be on your iphone.  You should keep everything on your computer.
If you have failed to do this, then they are gone.
You can try restoring from backup.

  • I preordered an album but not all the songs are showing up. They say purchased but wont go into my itunes library or onto my iphone. Please help.

They say purchased but wont go into my itunes library or onto my iphone. Please help.

    Hey there aussieboss123,
It sounds like you are wanting to download an album that you pre ordered, not all the songs are downloading. First, use this section of the following article to see if the tracks download:
    Download a pre-ordered item
When a pre-ordered item becomes available, you will receive an email letting you know that you can download your pre-order.
If you enabled the option to automatically download prepurchased content in iTunes, then your pre-ordered content may already be in your library. If not, click the download link provided in your email notification, and your pre-ordered content will begin to download. You can also use the Check for Available Downloads feature in iTunes on your computer (choose Store > Check for Available Downloads) to begin downloading your pre-order.
    iTunes Store: About pre-orders
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5714
If it does not, I would use the following article to report a problem with the purchase to the iTunes Store support directly:
How to report an issue with your iTunes Store, App Store, Mac App Store, or iBooks Store purchase

  • Got a new lap top my husband wanted to help me by downloading itunes on it I have not used icloud but do have it on my phone When he pugged it in it asked if he wanted to backup he said yes Then reset my phone now all my pictures are gone please help

I got a new lap top and my husband thought it would be a good idea to help me by downloading itunes on it. Well Not so much...   I have not used icloud but do have it on my phone and other items. When he pugged my phone in to my laptop it asked if he wanted to backup he said yes. Then it reset my phone and now all my pictures are gone please help

If your phone was backed up to your computer, the backup would contain your camera roll photos (and videos).  Restoring to this backup would recover them.  However, if it was backed up a second time after losing them, this would overwrite the backup containing the data and your photos would be lost.
You can try restoring to your backup, but before doing so go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and check "Prevent...from syncing automatically".  This will prevent the phone from automatically syncing and backing up when you connect it to your computer, thereby overwriting the backup you want to restore to.  After doing this, open iTunes on your computer and connect your phone, then right-click on the name of your phone on the left side of iTunes and choose Restore from Backup.  (If you have iTunes 11 first go to View>Show Sidebar.)
Again this might work, as long as the phone was only backed up and then not subsequently backed up again after the photos were lost.

I have Iphoto '09, version 8.1.2 (424). I am having an identical problem.  All my pictures are imported into Iphoto when I downloaded them from my camera.  Until recently, I thought that the pictures were actually saved in the library.  Since I need to crop my pictures for the web, and Iphoto doesn't do that, I purchased Photoshop Elements to do that.  To my surprise, when I try to get a picture from Iphoto to Photoshop, it can't be done. That was when I realized, after wasting a lot of time, that the photos are not in the Iphoto library.
I started naming the pictures on Iphoto so I had a recognizable file name to open on Photoshop. Couldn't find it.  I looked in the Backup folder and the Transfer software folder (I have a Nikon camera), and the names I entered in the Iphoto display, could not be found.
When I am trying to upload a photo to the web, I get the Finder folder showing  with an active folder called "Photos" under "Media", which only displays Iphoto and PhotoBooth.  This is a folder name that I cannot find in my HD anywhere when I look for it.  If I edit a picture with Photoshop, I am not going to save it back to Iphoto (not sure whether it will work properly).  How do I get my folder of edited photos to show when I want to upload a picture to the web?
Where (the name of the folder) do I find the pictures I see displayed on the Iphoto library, including any name changes, keywords added, and so on?

See my response to your other post.

  • A few days ago my TV show and movie displays went whacky-the shows are no longer in alpha order, there are multiple listings of the same show, the pictures are random-including album covers.  I downloaded latest version.  Any ideas??

    ME TOO.
I think mine are all still in alphabetical order, but :
    * movies I deleted from my library and told "hide this purchase in the cloud" are showing up again. If I try to play them, I get the "cannot find the file in its proper location, would you like to locate it" error message.
    * for movies that have "iTunes Extras," the extras show up as a separate item, with another copy of the movie artwork. Most of these I believe I had DELETED the "iTunes Extras" anyway.
    * Items are showing up multiple times.
    * A few MUSIC ALBUMS are listed in my Movies section.
    * Some movies (I believe ones that I deleted off my HD but are still in the cloud) are showing random album covers instead of their proper artwork.
    * Just rented a movie, and it didn't show up anywhere in my library. It downloaded properly and completely, was in a suitably labeled folder in my iTunes/Media/Movies section, but didn't show up in any section of the library (or via a library search). Had to manually find it and tell it to open the file using iTunes.
Running the latest version, even checked for updates. No other changes made lately since the last round of apple software updates. This was wonky before the latest small update to iTunes - now it's even wonkier. And it is very, VERY effing annoying.

  • HT1386 I deleted all my photos in the Camera Roll folder,I created separate folders containing all my pisctures. When I sync my iPhone it shows that all the pictures are loaded. But nothing displays on my phone?

    Hey Guys,
I need some advice. I had about 9000 pitures and photos in my camera roll folder.
I wanted to manage all these pictures into separate folders for easier access.
I imported all the pictures onto my pc, and created and managed the pics.
I synced the phone and excluded the photos,as advised on the site.
The I disconnected the phone, connected again and included the pictures.
On the coclour tab it indicates that all the pictures are there, after syncing,
but on my phone, nothing appears.
Am I doing something wrong? Is there another way of importing my pictures
onto the phone and keeping the separate folders?
    Thanks,

If you don't find an iTunes backup as suggested above, another possibility is that the phone was setup to automatically back up to iCloud. You can go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Manage Storage to see if your device name is listed there. If it is, the section titled "How do I restore an iCloud Backup if my device is already set up for use?" in the following link gives directions on how to resore it:  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4036
Also, I'm sorry to hear you lost 5 years of pictures. Having them in one place (as you unfortunately found out) is not a good idea as all kinds of things can happen including loss of the phone. If you have a computer it is a good idea to periodically import them to the computer where you can see that they have successfully transferred to a second location. Following is instructions on how to do that if you want to in the future: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4083

  • I just upgraded to the iOS 5 and icloud, but now all my pictures are gone! How do I get them back?

I have an iphone and just upgraded to the iOS 5 and icloud, but now all my pictures are gone! How do I get them back?? It's weird because it said with the upgrade your photos would be kept, but apps would be erased, yet my apps synced over and not my pictures...

I have EXACTLY the same issue.  I would appreciate the response also.  Was not prepared for this.

  • Not all my songs are showing in itunes even though they are in the Itunes Media file directory

Not all my songs are showing in itunes even though they are in the itunes Media Dir.  I have spent hours trying to find out why so I moved the songs out of the Music/itunes/itunes media and uninstalled itunes.  I then restarted my pc and re-installed itunes.  When I opened itunes the same songs are still there (but cannot be played as cannot find location) even though I have not put anything back in the itunes media dir.  To me there seems to be a refreshing problem as itunes is not looking at the directory even through the advanced preferences area is mapped to the correct area.
    Help please.
    Thanks

Apple's official advice on duplicates is here: Find and remove duplicate items in your iTunes library. It is a manual process and the article fails to explain some of the potential pitfalls such as lost ratings and playlist membership, or that sometimes the same file can be represented by multiple entries in the library and that deleting one and recycling the file will break the other.
Use Shift > View > Show Exact Duplicate Items to display duplicates as this is normally a more useful selection. You need to manually select all but one of each group to remove. Sorting the list by Date Added may make it easier to select the appropriate tracks, however this works best when performed immediately after the dupes have been created.  If you have multiple entries in iTunes connected to the same file on the hard drive then don't send to the recycle bin.
Use my DeDuper script if you're not sure, don't want to do it by hand, or want to preserve ratings, play counts and playlist membership. See this thread for background, this post for detailed instructions, and please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping.
(If you don't see the menu bar press ALT to show it temporarily or CTRL+B to keep it displayed.)
The most recent version of the script can tidy dead links as long as there is at least one live duplicate to merge stats and playlist membership to and should cope sensibly when the same file has been added via multiple paths.
See also Make a split library portable for some thoughts on best practice when it comes to organizing the library and media files.
