Not appearing on My Computer

My iPod Touch is no longer appearing on My Computer as anything but a camera. It is showing up in iTunes with all the music on it....however, when I update iTunes all this music was wiped from my hard drive. I cannot reload iTunes unless I can get my iPod to show up in My Computer.
Yes, have restarted. Yes, have current drivers.

You should have a regular backup of your library. The iPod is not a storage device, if you try to sync it will delete the contents of the iPod.

First off, I'm using Windows XP (and Mac SnowLeopard) Here's how it started. For some reason my ipod started showing up as a camera when I plugged it in. It works fine in itunes, though. But when I tried to access it from "my computer" it only
showed me the one and only picture I had on my ipod. I deleted that picture hoping it would no longer show up as a camera. When it still did I right-clicked on it in "my computer" and selected "properties". Under "autoplay" I

no action' , etc. But now it won't show up in "my computer" at all. I also have a Mac with SnowLeopard. When I plugged my ipod into it my ipod doesn't show up in "finder" either! So basically my problem is not a mechanical one with hardware
or software; yht ipod still works fine in itunes. I just need to undo the change I made. I've searched all around my preferences, utilities, options, etc. It shows up on my "Device Manager" but not on "Disk Management".

Hi,
To show up in Windows Explorer, you can try placing the iPod into
disk mode.
Moreover, i recommend you to
restore ipod to factory settings.
If this issue still persists, locate to device manager, uninstall and reinstall USB Mass Storage Device driver.

switched it on and off and also the PC

when you connect the ipod what does it do? does it charge? does the cable have connectivity?
try a different USB port first. also, how did you reset the ipod? can you describe?

Canvio External Hard Drive does not appear in MY COMPUTER

Sorry if the subject is in wrong section of the forum.
I bought an External Hard Drive to use with my Windows 7 laptop. When connecting, sounds like a new device is connected, also appears listed in DEVICES & PRINTERS, but does not appear in MY COMPUTER, becoming impossible to access it anyhow.
Procedures about how to format or change device letter (in DISK MANAGEMENT), although the device has been also shown there, haven't work.
"Drivers" are listed as updated.
Any suggestions?

The Hardware appears there like:

Local Disk (2 - [DRIVE IS NOT READY]
Available actions for each are: Mark / Unmark / Refresh.
Any possibility of it is broken, or something?

DVD drive does not appear on the "Computer" drive screen

I have lost access to the DVD drive. It does not appear on the "Computer" drive screen.
It will start up with a disk inserted but shuts down after a approx 20 seconds without having opened any files.
The DVD light comes on when it first starts up and then goes off within a few seconds.
I have re-installed the Toshiba driver and still no access.
I believe it started when I installed a new WD 1Tb external drive which setup its virtual CD drive on the E: drive which was used by the DVD drive. I have moved the external drive to G: and left the E: drive letter vacant but still not working.
Any ideas how I can solve this? It would be greatly appreciated.

My canon sd 630 and printer ip 1600 do not appear on my computer

My digital camera canon sd 630 and printer ip 1600 do not appear on my computer anymore. They worked fine before and lately they don't work. It's not the cables because my ipods and other USB peripherals (flash drives, scanner) work just fine.
Also, I have a MacBook Pro with the same version of iphoto (6.0.6) and the same Mac OS X (10.4.9) and they work fine with with the MacBook!
Has anyone had this problem before? Can anyone help? Thanks!

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. With the camera connected and the printer turned on are either recognized by the System Profiler?
Try the following;
1 - run OnyX and clean out the user caches and run the maintenance scripts.
2 - download and run the 10.4.9 COMBO updater followed by a repair of disk permissions with Disk Utility.
3 - remove the printer driver with Print Center Utility and then reinstall.

The iphone is not a storage device.
The music sync is one way - computer to iphone. The exception being itunes purchases.
You need to copy everything from the old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to the new one.

If you have the horizontal menu bar showing (File, Edit, View,...), select View, then select Show Sidebar.
If the menu bar is not showing, dorp down the menu in the very upper left corner and select show menu bar, then follow steps above.

4 of the songs on a recently purchased album do not appear on my computer. I bought the album on my phone, and all of the songs are accounted for there, but on my computer it shows as an incomplete album and ITunes wants me to buy the missing songs?

I recently purchased Slipknot's ".5: The Gray Chapter" on my phone via an ITunes gift card worth $15 dollars. The album did have some trouble downloading because of a bad signal, and a good number of songs "could not be downloaded at this time". To download the missing songs, I had to go into ITunes store>more>purchased>music>all songs and click download on the few that didn't. This fixed that problem, and now the entire album is on my phone, but when the album transferred over to my computer, 4 of the songs still did not appear. Not only that, it says that they have not been purchased. The ITunes card I used only has a dollor left on it, so I know it registered the purchase. The 10th, 14th, 15th, and 16th tracks still have $1.29 next to them, and ITunes is showing the album as an incomplete.

We are having this same issue. We have over 200 songs that are now missing and only our most recent ones show up in our ITunes library. Fortunately we have one phone that still has all of our music still in tact. This phone is no longer one I will be using as I upgraded to the Iphone 6, and only the most recent purchased songs remain. The rest are no where to be found and the iTunes store shows that I would need to re-purchase. Not sure what to do as when I tried to sync my last phone, all the songs were gone.

I copy many files to my 60Gb's Ipod yesterday(In the "Notes" folder-Around 13Gb). Then I ejected it and it worked as usuall(Plays Music and I could see the files on "Notes" ). But today I connected it to the computer and it does not appear. I have uninstalled and installed Itunes again...I did the same with the Windows Xp, but it does not work. When I plug it on the computer, the computer freezes. I tried to plug it on other Computers and it does not work aswell.

Try putting your iPod into disk mode, then connecting it to your computer.
If it is sucessfully recognized in iTunes, then try restoring it.
