Not assigned values in 0ic_c03

Hello experts.
We have the 0ic_c03 cube for movements and values.
We've been ckecking the results and so far so good, until we start to use in the drilldown of the reports some characteristics such as "0strge_type" where we get too many results as "not assigend".
For example:
Value for 0strge_type 202/904 is 16 USD and
value for 0strge_type #/904 is 30,000 USD.
I can't just not consider those"#" values, because they add to the overall result. When checking in SAP there is not such a thing as "#/904"....has anyone come up whith a situation like this? This happens also with other characteristics.
How can I correct those unassigend values (if there is a way)..

Hi,
If you are using the web analyzer, you can include the following javascript code in the web template. As for key figures, in the query properties select "Show Zero As" value for "Zero Value Display" field and leave "Show Zero As" field blank.

Reporting Issue "Opening Balance values are going to Not Assigned Values"

Hi Friends,
Closing Balance values are perfectly showing but opening balance values are going to Not Assingned Values? I am not able to find it out.
our query is built on PCA Daily Multiprovider.

Here are the details
Stock values and quantities in the PCA cube of BW never show correctly at an article level due to an opening balance issue. This reduces our ability to report on stocks at moving average price, i.e. anything that actually matches the financial values in the system. The issue arises because stock at the beginning of the year (quantity and value) for any site is only shown against an article of "Not assigned." Stock movements during the year are shown against the appropriate article.(If you have a new site, the will have stock assigned against an article up until 31 December and then the 31 December values are shown against "not assigned" for the next year).

'Not assigned' Value is appearing in Report?

Hi Folks,
Let me go through the whole scenerio so that it would be easy to answer you people.
There was one IO by 0CAT_GROUP for this there was already data was available.Due to some changes in the requerement we have created one navigational atteribute to the above mentioned IO ie ZCAT_TYPE.To update the cat group based on the cat type we have written a routine in the trafer rule of the 0cat_group saying if another fields 0cat_cat is '1','2', and '3' then it is 'preventabl'
and if it is '4','5','6' then it is 'Non preventable'.If it is other than above two then it is 'Others'.
1.Our routine is working fine.As per the code but we are getting in the report another field called 'Not assigned'.
2.As per the our code we should not get 'Not assigned'?
3.As per my understanding as already 0cat-group is having values which not fallling any of the above three catagories(Preventable,Non preventable and Others) that is being called in the report as 'Not assigned'.
Please clarify my doubt?
Points wil be definitley assigned.

Values coming from Master Data
1)Preventable
2)Non Preventable
3)Othrs
4)......(which is blank)
In 4th case you write simple routine, if BLAN then fill "NO VALUE" else pass values as it is. So you will get some value, anyway this is Master data in next time the data will come for 4th one then it will load to that field.

Then I have activated the 0customer master data and done attribute change, I have such display at BEx reporting

'Not Assigned ' value in Report

Hi,
I have my Admin Cockpit report which shows # values for TIMESTAM values. The timestamp are for Last load, last Aggregation, Last Compresstion of the cubes.
the Data flows from Virtual Cube> MultiProvider > Query.
I can see that the relevant data is available in Virtual cube, but the Multiprovider is showing values to ZERO.
Multiprovider shows appropriate Timestamps for DSOs but not cubes.
In query the result rows are 'Always' Suppressed.
Please let me know that at which stage the data is missing. Since it has Virtual Cube it extracts data Run time, how to remove this # values then.

PS: When ever you create a multiprovider the identification of the Keyfigures and Char's is mandatory. If you didn't maintain this then you won't get data or you will get wrong data.

How to build an URL to filter a variable with the # (Not Assigned) as value

We need to build the URL that is calling a query with a filter value = #.
We need to query only those records that have "Not Assigned" in a particular Infoobject.
Example of our URL: that is not working

WEBI prompt based on bex variable suppress not assigned hashtag value in LOV

Hi,
is it possible to suppress the "Not assigned (#)" value from the list of values in a webi prompt based on a bex variable?
This "Not assigned" value is something BW specific, BW adds this to each characteristic automatically?!

RSRT:
It needs to work in WEBI, not only in RSRT, and the filtering of data still needs to work.
For rsrt it works, when you exclude the not assigned value in "Filter > Characteristic Restrictions" and use the bex variable in/through "Filter > Default Values", but this does not work in WEBI, because the BEX Query Data is not filtered on the in the prompt selected value.

I could manage to avoid # values in WebI prompt using BAdI implementation, here is the brief:
Problem:
WebI report prompt (which shows BEx variable) list of values shows blanks or # . Rrequirement was to avoid these blanks or #
Environment:
BW 7.3
BO 4.0
BW Cube > BEx Query > OLAP Connection > WebI report
Solution:
InfoObject Level1 in BW had # values in masterdata, this could not be deleted since it was in use with other Cubes.
Vaurable Var_Level1 displays # when pressed F4 running BEx query and in list of values in WebI report prompt.
I implemented BAdI on Level1 info object and variable Var_Level1.
Steps to implement BAdI are as in following link

"non assigned" value for Calender year quarter not possible

All of us know that we can not assign "#" value to calender year quarter.
In my planning level (which is a part of multi planning area consinsting 2 cubes, Actual COPA cube and Plan COPA cube), I want to copy data from Actual copa cube to plan copa cube using planning function of formula type, but actual copa cube is not getting populated against calyear quarter.
I want to retain calyearquarter as a characteristic in my level as it is acting as a key to my plan data. What shoould be done in such a scenario?

I would suggest you build a characateristic relationship exit on calendar year quarter, probably based on fiscal year period or 0calmonth.. Make sure you leave Calendar year quarter out of your planning level in the copy so it would derive it.

I've got a report with many master data of a customer. But not always all data are maintenanced. The result is, that instead of blank there's "#" or 'Not assigned" value. How can I change this to blank?

thanks for xour help. But I've got a problem being much more tricky...
E.g. I'vo got a datasource showing only attributes of customer, like name, telnumber, personal address, etc. The problem is, that not all fields of any customer are filled.
The result is e.g.

Not assigned and # in BEX 7.0 WAD

In the report I have a characteristic time Z object.
In the portal, For the value 00:00:00 (midnight) it displays '#' instead of 00:00:00. Is there a way around this?
Also in Javascript is it posible to change 'Not Assigned' to some other verbiage?

Not too sure how to fix your midnight issue but I have some javascript code that toggles the # or Not Assigned values and hides them by turning their text to the colour of the background. I have this attached as a context menu item of the column headings, but could be applied to any element with a bit of playing around.

#(Not assigned) in variable search help

Dear Team,
Have created Characteristic value variable with processing type as user entry/default value for the char 0PLANT.
Master data is having values #(Null Value);1001;1002;1003;1004:1005;1006
Transactions are posted for only 1001 and 1002.
When i try search help for the variable,displays Null Value(#),1001 and 1002 even though i selected posted values in the info object BEx tab,query designer and at info provider level also
Please guide me how we can hide #(Null Value) in the search help as there is no transaction with plant value as " # "

Still some 'Not Assigned' in query result

In fact, I've built a query on a multiprovider ( 1 Cube + 1 ODS )
The ODS and the Cube are joined by the material (0material).
The Cube and the ODS are well filled. Queries on each Infoprovider correctly display the results.
When I launch my query on the Multiprovider, it seems the "joined" between the 2 infoproviders doesn't work as
I've still some '#' / 'Not Assigned' value in the query result, and it should give me a result.
In fact the data from the ODS aren't retrieved, they are replaced by '#'. And I don't why ?
Please help.

Yes you are right.
I made a mistake in my explanation.
But the problem is that the characteristics from the ODS aren't displayed though the characteristic from the cube are correctly displayed.
eg.
In the ODS I've :
( Material, ZCHAR )
'ART01' '315'
'ART02' '412'
'ART03' '999'
In my Cube I've :
'ART01' '12,36' '59,00' '30 ST'
'ART02' '12,96' '89,00' '40 ST'
In the query(on the multiprovider) result I've :
( Material, ZCHAR, other values...)
'ART01' '#' 'Not assigned' '12,36' '59,00' '30 ST'

Remove / Hide Not Assigned Characteristics / KF

Hi Gurus,
I have a report and in there report, I have rows with Not Assigned.
My users do not wish to see these rows. Even thought Not Assigned, these rows/columns have values so i cannot use Suppress Zero values.
Is there any way or hiding or removing these rows/columns?

In Bex designer, doble click on the char and set a filter to exclude not assigned value (#).
