Not authenticating to wireless

I have been banging my head against the wall for days now on this.
We have 2 identical 1100 APs (I copied the config from one to the other changing names and IP address)
They plug into different 3COM switches (both switches are configured the same).
I have 3 secured SSIDs on the APs and one SSID that is not secure (unbroadcasted). On one AP I can login and I wil go right through radius and authenticate. If I log in and are using the other AP I get "cant find certificate" error. I am going nuts. Same AP configs, same switch configs, same laptop, same username and pwd to login to the laptop. But can't auth in one place over the other. I am going nuts!

I did a bit more testing today and I am thinking that the secret isn't the problem. I think the problem lies in the VLAN configuration.
I added an SSID with no security on it, added it to a VLAN. I connect fine to the AP but dont get an IP address from DHCP. I hard coded my IP from the scope I would have gotten one from. Can't ping anything. Seem like a VLAN config problem?

  • ISE 1.3 Why are Windows endpoints defaulting to 802.1x machine authentication in wireless profile and not User or User&Computer

We are running ISE 1.3 tied to AD with WLC 7.6.130.0.  Our ISE has a GoDaddy (none wildcard) certificate loaded for https and EAP.  We are just running PEAP.  We have a mix of IOS, Android, and Windows 7/8 devices.  IOS and Android devices can self create a wireless profile and after entering credentials can connect without issue.  Our Windows 7/8 devices, when auto creating a wireless profile are selecting 802.1x machine authentication instead of User authentication or the best option which is machine or user authentication.  This is problematic as we do allow for machine authentication but have an authorization rule limiting machine auth to domain controller and ISE connectivity only.  This is to allow domain Windows 7/8 devices to have domain connectivity prior to user sign-in but force user auth to get true network connectivity.  The problem is why are the Windows devices not auto setting to user authentication (as I think they did when we ran ISE1.2), or the best option which is to allow both types of authentication?  I have limited authentication protocols to just EAP CHAP and moved the machine auth profile to the bottom of the list.  Neither have helped.  I also notice that the Windows 7/8 endpoints have to say allow connectivity several times even though we are using a global and should be trusted certificate authority (probably a separate issue).
Thank you for any help or ideas,

When connecting a windows device to the ISE enabled SSID when there is not a saved wireless profile on that machine, it will connect and auto create the profile.  In that profile, 802.1x computer authentication option is chosen by windows.  That has to be changed to computer or user for the machine to function correctly on the network.
On 1.2, this behavior was different.  The Windows device would auto select user authentication by default.  At other customer sites, windows devices auto select user authentication.  This of course needs  to be changed to user or computer in order to support machine auth, but at least the default behavior of user authentication would allow machines to get on the network and functional easily to begin with.

  • Wnm Not Authenticated on backup radius

    Hi,
I have a WLSE with 2.12 version firmware and AP 1210 serie with 12.3(7)JA firmware. I have several site location with 2 radius server (a main and a backup).
When I turn off the main radius server, to make test, all the AP go to the backup to register. But the WNm status stay on Not Authenticated. ow can I do to change the status to Security Keys Setup ?
I hope you understand me. Thanks for helping me.

Step 1 Browse to the Wireless Services Summary page
Step 2 Click WDS to browse to the WDS/WNM Summary page.
Step 3 On the WDS/WNM Summary page, click Settings to browse to the WDS/WNM Settings page
Step 4 Check the Use this AP as Wireless Domain Services check box.
Step 5 In the Wireless Domain Services Priority field, enter a priority number from 1 to 255 to set the priority of this WDS candidate. The WDS access point candidate with the highest priority number becomes the acting WDS access point.
Step 6 (Optional) If you use a Wireless LAN Solutions Engine (WLSE) on your network, check the Configure Wireless Network Manager check box and enter the IP address of the WLSE device in the Wireless Network Manager IP Address field. The WDS access point collects radio measurement information from access points and client devices and sends the aggregated data to the WLSE device.
    Step 7 Click Apply.
Step 8 Click Server Groups to browse to the WDS Server Groups page
Step 9 Create a group of servers to be used for 802.1x authentication for the infrastructure devices (access points) that use the WDS access point. Enter a group name in the Server Group Name field.
Step 10 Select the primary server from the Priority 1 drop-down menu. (If a server that you need to add to the group does not appear in the Priority drop-down menus, click Define Servers to browse to the Server Manager page. Configure the server there, and then return to the WDS Server Groups page.)
Step 11 (Optional) Select backup servers from the Priority 2 and 3 drop-down menus.
    Step 12 Click Apply.
Step 13 Configure the list of servers to be used for 802.1x authentication for CCKM-enabled client devices. You can specify a separate list for clients using a certain type of authentication, such as EAP, LEAP, or MAC-based, or specify a list for client devices using any type of authentication. Enter a group name for the server or servers in the Server Group Name field.
Step 14 Select the primary server from the Priority 1 drop-down menu. (If a server that you need to add to the group does not appear in the Priority drop-down menus, click Define Servers to browse to the Server Manager page. Configure the server there, and then return to the WDS Server Groups page.)
Step 15 (Optional) Select backup servers from the Priority 2 and 3 drop-down menus.
Step 16 (Optional) Select Restrict SSIDs to limit use of the server group to client devices using specific SSIDs. Enter an SSID in the SSID field and click Add. To remove an SSID, highlight it in the SSID list and click Remove.
    Step 17 Click Apply.
Step 18 Configure the WDS access point for EAP authentication

  • Cisco ISE 1.3 using 802.1x Authentication for wireless clients

    Hi,
I have stumbled into a strange issue trying to authenticate a user over wireless. I am using PEAP as the authentication protocol. I have configured my authentication and authorization policy but when I come to authenticate the authorization policy selected is the default which denies access.
I have used the 802.1x compound conditions for matching the machine authentication and then the user authentication
    MACHINE AUTHENTICATION
    match
    framed
    Wireless
    AD group (machine)
    USER AUTHENTICATION
    match
    framed
    Wireless
    AD group (USER)
    was authenticated = true

Judging by that line and what your policy says, it appears that your authentication was rejected as your machine was not authenticated prior to this connection.
first thing to check is whether MAR has been enabled on the identity source. second thing to check is whether your machine is set to send a certificate for authentication. there are other things you can look at but I'd do those two first.
log off and on  or reboot and then see if you at least get a failed machine auth on the operations>authentication page and we can go from there.

We had a similar issue. It was because some garbage was in the repository and the etc/hosts file needed tweeking.
    Here is what we did....
    Issue:
"Communication from the Oracle Management Service host to the Agent host failed. Refer to help for details. peer not authenticated"
    1. Stop OEM agent on problem host
    2. Login to oem console and note the problematic host name & agent port exactly as it appears in the OEM console.
    3. Remove all targets for this agent via the OEM console.
    4. Remove agent via OEM console.
    5. Login to repository database as sys and run the following command:
    exec mgmt_admin.cleanup_agent('HOSTNAME:AGENT_PORT');commit;
    6. Remove agent software from the problematic host.
    7. In /etc/hosts file on the OEM server, local host entry should be unique and formated as follows:
    3.24.7.156 unxoradb014.corporate.ge.com unxoradb014
    8. Reinstall agent on the host.

  • How do I set up my new Time Capsule just to back up not as a wireless?

Can anyone tell me how to use my new Time Capsule just for back up not as a wireless router?
I have an ATT Uverse for my wireless service and have not been able to get the two to work together.
I just want to plug my Time capsule in and connect it to my MacBook Pro with an ethernet an click backup.
So far my computer doesn't reconnect the Time Capsule.
    Thank you for your help

You will need to configure the Time Capsule (TC) to join the wireless network provided by the ATT Uverse router, as follows:
Either connect to the TC's wireless network or temporarily connect your computer directly (using an Ethernet cable) to one of the LAN port of the TC, and then, using the AirPort Utility, change this setting:
AirPort Utility > Select the TC > Manual Setup > AirPort > Wireless tab > Wireless Mode: Join a wireless network
Wireless tab > Wireless Network Name: <select the ATT Uverse network>
This configuration will allow your Mac to connect by wireless to the ATT Uverse router and perform Time Machine backups wirelessly.
If you want to only do this backups by wire, then you will need to connect the TC directly to the ATT Uverse router by Ethernet, and then, reconfigure the TC as a bridge. You can then connect the Mac to the TC by Ethernet as well for backups.

  • Home Sharing not working between wireless PC's / devices and ethernet wired PC's on the same router.

Home Sharing is not working between wireless PC's / devices and ethernet wired PC's on the same router.  I installed a new Verizon FIOS ActionTec  MI424WR GigE wireless / ethernet router, replacing the original FIOS router.  With the old router Home Sharing worked fine across and among all iOS and Windows wired and wireless devices.  With the new router Home Sharing works between and among the Wired PC's but not between the wired PC's and the Wireless connected PC's or iOS devices.  Home Sharing also works between and among the wireless connected PC's and iOS decices but not between them and the wired PC's.
Only the router was changed.  No changes were made to any of the devices except all were updated with the latest version of iTunes 10.7.0.21 and the iSO devices were updated to iOS vrsion 6.01.  Three PC's are wired and all are running Windows 7.  There also is a Windows Home Server connected to the router by ethernet port.  It does not run iTunes but does provide WebDAV services to my iOS devices.  This works fine.  Two PC's are wireless, one running Windows 7 and one running Windows 8.  All of the PC's are connected to the same (new) router via it's ethernet ports and it's wireless access point.  Two of the wired PC's are connected via a high-speed  ethernet hup that is connected to the router (Home Sharing works fine between the two PC's on the hub and the PC on the router).  All wired and wireless devices on the router are visible and members of the router's Home/Office virtual network.
All of the PC's are visible in the Windows network and all shared files are accessable from all PC's, both wired and wireless.
Obviously the router seems to be the issue, something between the ethernet and the wireless access point components.  I checked the settings and found nothing that would prevent Home Sharing between the wired and wireless devices.  There is no setting that isolates the wireless network.  I have done the following:
Read the router user manual and checked all the settings
    Rebooted the router and tested.
Turned off the router's firewall and tested.
Home Sharing is turned on all the devices and all use the same Apple ID.
    Restarted iTunes and tested.
Verified iTunes is "Allowed" in each PC's firewall.
Again, I can Home Share between the two wireless PC's but not between either of the wireless PC's and any of the wired PC's.  I can Home Share between my iPads and iPhones and either of the two wireless PC's but not with any of the wired PC's.  I can Home Share between any of the wired PC's but not between any wired PC and a wireless PC or iOS device.
I hope someone may have had a similar problem and has a fix suggestion.  I'm stumped!  I have a;so contacked ActionTec and awaiting an answer.

    Solution from ActionTec is:
    Log into your router.
    Click the Advanced icon
    Cclick Yes
    Click on the IGMP Proxy
    Select Disable
    Click Apply

How can I use my time capsule as a time machine backup without using it wirelessly and not as a wireless router?

It is better to have the TC as part of the main network in bridge. You do not need to run wireless.
If you want to use the TC plugged in by ethernet and still use wireless for internet, that is possible but the setup is rather more complicated.. the computer must not get confused about which device to use as a gateway or dns server.
See info in this thread on setting this up.

I need to add.. a USB drive would be cheaper, faster and more reliable. It is really poor use of a TC.

  • Error Message For BISystemUser: User not authenticated

We have migrated from DEV to PROD env.(11.1.1.1 -> 11.1.1.3). Along problems with bipublisher - there are some strange thingths: we successfully loging using weblogic account into AdminConsole и Enterprise Manager, but in Answers we get an error: invalid username or password.
    nqserver.log:
...[ERROR:1] [] [] ... [tid: 1090] Error Message For BISystemUser: User not authenticated.
    ...[ERROR:1] [] [] ... [tid: 1090] [nQSError: 43126] Authentication failed: invalid user/password.
In oracle support we found such issue (Doc ID 1308389.1):
OBIEE 11g Error: "Unable to Sign in. invalid username or password was entered" After Changing Repository, Deleting BISystem User, Adding it Back (Doc ID 1308389.1)
    Applies to: Business Intelligence Server Enterprise Edition - Version: 11.1.1.3.0 [1905] to 11.1.1.5.0 [1308] - Release: 11g to 11g
Symptoms: In OBIEE 11.1.1.3.0 using default authenticator, it is not possible to log in to OBIEE after changing repository. To troubleshoot, BIsystemuser was removed from global roles and added back again.
Getting error: Unable to Sign in. invalid username or password was entered
Changes: Changed repository, deleted BISystemuser, added the user back
Cause: Several changes e.g changing rpd, deleting bisystem user, adding the user back etc. occurred in the environment and caused log in to OBIEE to stop working
Solution: After a lot of troubleshooting e.g re-starting system in the correct order, refreshing GUIDs, re-start OBIEE with default SampleAppLite.rpd and web catalog, the error persists. The system was uninstalled and re-installed to avoid further corruption and configuration problems in the new installation. This resolved the problem
Does we have to 'reinstall or make a lot of troubleshooting e.g re-starting system ' to solve this error?
It seem to be funny for PROD environment. How we cam resolve this problem?

Are you saying you upgraded both dev and prod from 11.1.1.1 to 11.1.1.3 or that you migrated a dev 11.1.1.1 to a prod 11.1.1.3? What did you migrate?
At a rough guess the BISystemUser password is different in dev and prod (created by system on install) and in your 'migration' you've moved the dev credential across to prod.
If that's the case you need to change the bisystemuser password to something known and update the credential store password.
Another possibility might just be that you need to regenerate the GUIDs:

    Hi @Southglen,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I noticed that your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus printer will not recognize your wireless router password. I am sorry to hear this, but happy to help!
I would recommend to go through this guide, How to Find the WEP or WPA Key or Password for Your Wireless Network, just to double-check your wireless password, in case it might have changed.
I would also suggest a hard reset, by going to this post How to perform a Hard Reset, by @Rich1.
After those two steps, I would suggest a firmware update, Getting Printer Updates for HP Officejet Pro 8600 (N911), Officejet 6600 (H711) and Officejet 6700 P....
Let's start with these steps, and we will go from there!

  • 10.6.8 Server - workgroup manager not authenticated

I have 10.6.8 Server that has suddenly stopped accepting the dradmin password when using Workgroup Manager.  Workgroup Manager connects, but in not authenticated mode.  When I click the lock icon and am prompted for the ID & Password it is rejected.  I know with 100% certainty I am using the correct administrator ID and password.  I am running Workgroup Manager directly on the server computer.  I'm able to log on to the computer as the local administrator. Server Admin works fine with no authentication issues.
I have not applied the 10.6.8 Supplemental update, but wonder if that might be helpful.
It is very concerning to be locked out of my own server. Any suggestions why this is happening and how to reslove it?
    Thank you,
    -Joe

The logs revealed that dradmin was actually authenticating successfully, but for some reason Workgroup Manager was still in unauthenticated mode.  I installed 10.6.8 Supplemental update and found no improvement.
All users have portable home directories and everything with Open Directory was functioning properly.  DNS and Kerberos were confirmed to be working properly.  Several restarts and shutdown/startups were performed and I never was able to get Workgroup Manager to authenticate.  So after a few hours troubleshooting last weekend I decided to restore the server to a disk image that was created 20 days earlier.  I elected to do this this because I needed to get it resolved on the weekend to minimize the chance of downtime during business hours.  The only thing on the boot drive is the server OS an everything else is stored on an external RAID so it was fairly simple for me to restore then get everything current again.
I kept an image of the server with the problem so I can restore it to a standby server to experiment with any possible fixes that I may come across in the future.  As of now I don't know why it happened nor how to fix it without restoring.
