Not Authorized Message

Today was the first time I tried to play the iTunes radio. Initailly I was able to 'sample' couple of the radio stations.
Later though, when I click on one of the Itunes radio stations I get the following message:
"We could not complete your iTunes Store request. You are not authorized to access the requested resource."
Appreciate the solution to this problem.

Have a look at these.

    Hi Soe,
Did you look through the NDR completely and did you see the NDR was generated from which server ?
Was the NDR generated from our server or its remote server ?
Did you look through the  receive connector protocol logs and look for any errors generated in protocol logs ?
Can you please have a look at the message tracking logs as well to see if we get any info
Post your comments after having look at these things so that we will get a clear idea of the problem

Does anyone know why do I get a "computer not authorized message" when it is authorized and how to fix the problem?  I downloaded a couple of new apps on my iPhone and these wont sych with my iMac

  • This content is not authorized, message in my rentals, and purchased Series and Movies

I keep geting this message, This content is not authorized, on my series and movies

I have this exact issue.  I am running 7.1.1 and it all worked perfectly when just running 7.0 back in February.  I have the problem on both my iPhone 4 and my iPad mini (1G).  The content I have imported myself from DVD's works fine.  The only content that doesn't work is what I purchased on iTunes. Movies, and TV shows, SD and HD. Nothing purchased works. It comes up as "Cannot Open: This content is not authorised." I've checked. I am logged in with the correct iTunes account for home sharing on both the iDevices and the Macbook.  I am running the latest iTunes and iOS versions... w. t. f.
I have airvideo and have used it. I would prefer if this worked as advertised as it did mere months ago.
Things haven't changed on my tablets except for the upgrades...

  • Not Authorized Message - Over and Over

Everything was working just fine until about 2 weeks ago, and now, whenever I connect one of the two iPhone’s I sync with this computer (single iTunes account), I get a message that this computer is not authorized. When I click Authorize and then sign in, it says that this computer is already authorized (5 of 5 computers.) It all works fine, it seems. This happens every couple of days.
What could be causing this? One thing that concerns me, is the very first time this happened, it was 4 of 5, and I don't have 5 computers authorized (I have 4), and so I am worried that one of these times it's not going to work and I've already done my once a year deal, just a few months ago.

Problem solved. Just had to change the password for my original account, authorize a single song that was previously unavailable and all of the songs for that account are now free to play. Didn't think this would work initially, since the message said "account closed for security reasons," but decided to try it anyway. It works.
Thanks to anyone who was planning to answer.

  • How to resolve "not authorized" message when computer is authorized?

iTunes popped up a dialogue box saying most recent purchase cannot be played on my iMac because it is "not authorized".
When I authorize the computer I get a dialogue box saying this computer is already authorized.
After clicking on that box, the first one comes up again when I try to play the song.
    I'm running iTunes 10.5.2 (11) and Lion.
How to escape the endless loop??

    Hi, Jim--
Thanks for the suggestion. I tried it, didn't work.
I have also tried repairing permissions, didn't work.
    Tried updating iTunes (10.5.2 (11) to 10.5.3 (3), didn't work.

  • Apple TV is not authorized message

I tried renting my first movie via via the Apple Tv (not my Mac) upon trying to play the movie I get the error that my Apple TV is not authorized to play this content. No where in the manuals does it mention authorizing your Apple TV, if i'm wrong about this please point me in the right direction.
I tried looking on the forums for answers but get a mix of rabbit holes to go down for a solution. I tried the authorize/de-authorize approach but no luck. I'm not even sure why i would need to authorize the Apple TV? Some other post mention seeing the Apple TV in itunes under devices... but i think this is for first gen Apple tvs?
I gotten home sharing working with no problems and can stream from my mac to the Apple TV with no issue. Netflix also works for that matter...
I don't see the rented movie in my purchases list via itunes either, should I? Should the rented movie show up in itunes at all if rented via the apple TV. The rental shows that I only have 23 hours now left to view it... even though it never started!
Does all content have be purchased via iTunes and not directly from the apple tv UI, that would be really lame if so... My wife was a bit peeved that she had to go downstairs to the computer to rent Mad Men, rather than just select if from the Apple TV.
    Jeremy

I am having *the exact same issue* with the first movie I rented late last night. My Apple TV 2 is set up and working fine with my iTunes library and wifi network in every respect except this one. The money has been taken from my account and I have no way of watching the movie as every time I push to watch it it says "Your Apple TV is not authorized to play this content"! How can this be given that my itunes account details have been entered on the system and allowed me to 'successfully' rent and be charged for the movie in the first place? 20 hours and counting before the money has been wasted, although I have requested a refund through the problem reporting tool on my account!!
I too have gone through the forums and tried everything with no luck. I even contacted apple care support who kept me online for 30min, resetting and restoring etc... only to tell me that it might be an issue my TV!! Nonsense, otherwise surely it wouldn't work at all.
I hope someone from Apple is monitoring this thread and that a proper solution will be given in due course. At the moment, I don't want to risk renting any more movies until I know that my machine will be authorized for the purchases I have made.

  • Getting not authorized message for a few songs

I reordered some of my play lists, now 9 songs show as "not authorized". I did the authorization step, and I get that I was successful, but I still get "not authorized" on these few songs only. How can I fix this?

    edkertman,
Mind telling us what you are trying to do exactly? What was the reason you re ordered playlists?
The more info you give, the better the help.

  • HT4108 not authorized message when trying to play a video on the tv?

does anyone know what to do I purchased the video from i tunes.  I'm trying to play it throuh the ipad to the tv but it won't connect it says not authorized?

Were these songs purchased using another account?
" I opened a new iTunes account and copied the files to the new account.  "
Do you mean to a new library?
Account is a user neame and password with which you purchase content.
A library is your collection of media.

  • Songs purchased on iPhone not syncing (Not authorized message)

One computer, one iPhone. I purchased tracks using iTunes on the iPhone. I sync'd up and immediately got the "Some of the items in the iTunes library, including "foo", were not copied to the iPhone "my iphone" because you are not authorized to play them on this computer."
I've seen the posts referring to adding the iPhone as an authorized machine in order to play ringtones, so I assume this is a related issue.
    I have two questions:
    1. How do I set the iPhone as an authorized machine? I see the item in the iTunes | My Account page but I see no way to edit this item.
    2. Does Apple realize how insulting an error this is? I purchased the songs on the iPhone and now I'm not allowed to play them!!??? I get the whole DRM thing, but seriously, the sync should be smart enough to set the iPhone as authorized, or at least ask me to add it as authorized. It knows where I purchased them from.
Again, a simple dialog allowing you to add the iPhone would be far less annoying then the way iTunes behaves now.
    Thanks in advance,
    -Remi

Between you, me, and the rest of the world, I don't like Apple's angle on iPod/iPhone sync-ing and computer authorization/deauthorization in any case.
The computer deauthorization process contains at least one fatal flaw in that you can only deauthorize if you are physically on the computer to be deauthorized. I've got one that went up in smoke, and now I can't deauthorize it. So, there it sits taking up one of my precious 5 slots available. @#$%^&*!!! How 'bout letting me name my computers so that I can deauthorize any of them from any computer on the planet!?!?
Finally, when I sync-ed up with the my new computer, a bunch of my stuff got deleted. iTunes should NOT be in the business of deleting ANYTHING from MY iPod/iPhone during a sync unless, of course, I expressly choose it to be so!
I can dig the DRM issue as well, but, with just a bit more effort, iTunes can be tweaked to give the user needed flexibility while protecting property rights.

  • I have just purchased a new pc and when I try to play 2 separate albums that I bought from the itunes store I get a message that my computer is not authorized. I then follow the steps to authorize it and the same thing happens when I attempt to play this

Just purchased a new pc with windows 8. Transferred over my itunes. With 2 different albums in my library, when I attempt to play this music I get a message saying my computer is not authorized. I then sign in to authorize the computer, itunes  tells me it is indeed authorized, I attempt to play this music again and I get the same "your computer is not authorized" message again, and again....
Any help out there on this one would be appreciated. If my question is not clear enough I will attempt to help.
    Thank you,
    mike

  • This computer is not authorized to play "insertnamehere.m4v"

I purchased an HD show last night through the iTunes store last night. I've been trying to play it this morning, but when I do, I get the error message above advising me that the computer isn't authorized. The only problem is that I have authorized.
I clicked through on the message and it advises me that it is waiting to authorize the computer and that a pop-up requesting my ID and password will appear. Nothing shows up but an error message saying "Could not contact iTunes" and that I should have iTunes 4.0 or higher. I've got the latest version if that helps.
I've tried deauthorizing the mac and reauthorizing it, but still no luck.
I tried to report the issue on the show, but the drop down only provides one option and that is "Choose One", so when I click to report it, I am advised to choose an option from the drop down.
Anyone else had a similar issue?
    Cheers.

I have the same problem, only with all my previously purchased music. My old computer disk image was moved to my new computer. Now I cannot play any of my purchased music. I am presented with the "This computer is not authorized" message. I authorize the computer, "success." I try to play the song and am presented with the "This computer is not authorized" message. I authorize the computer and am presented with the "This computer is already authorized" message. sigh
Over and over again, loop, loop, loop...
Oh, I already ran "repair permissions" from Disk utility to no effect. See below for the disk permissions errors:
    Verify permissions for “Macintosh HD”
    Reading permissions database.
Reading the permissions database can take several minutes.
Group differs on "private/etc/cups", should be 0, group is 26.
    Permissions differ on "System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.usbmuxd.plist", should be -rw-r--r-- , they are -rwxr-xr-x .
