Not avaiable on a mobile device -- is a LIE! Why do they do this?

Okay, so I'm sure everyone here has been on Youtube and tried to watch a video and came across the error "sorry this video is not avaiable on a mobile device". I even tried to use the built in Safari browser, go to Youtube, click "desktop", and then it looks and acts just like a regular computer would. This fixes the problem 50% of the time. The other 50% of the time? I still get the error "your device is not CAPABLE of playing this video". What? What do you mean not capable? Why are you lying? (the official YouTube app is terrible, don't even get me started on that, it filters/blocks SO MANY videos).
So I found a way around this, and have gotten EVERY SINGLE VIDEO TO PLAY!! Meaning those error messages saying "your mobile device isn't capable of playing this type of video" is a complete lie.
How? I decided to use a 3rd-party Youtube app. THE SAME VIDEOS PLAYED PERFECLTLY FINE!! Why? BECAUSE IT TRICKED YOUTUBE INTO THINKING I WAS ON A DESKTOP, NOT A MOBILE-DEVICE (that's why I assume it worked). Which means: your mobile phone is FULLY CAPABLE of playing any video from online or YouTube. But oh, I thought "this video wasn't compatiable with my device", huh??? Such a lying error message!!!
So my question is: WHY? Why are they blocking some videos from mobile devices? Is this YouTube doing this? If so, what do they have to gain?

Josh-17 wrote:
I thought maybe somewhere here would know WHY they sometimes block mobile devices from watching videos, and put out these "error messages" when the errors messages aren't even true. Why would Google do that?
No one here speaks for Google.  Why don't you post this question on THEIR support forum?
Josh-17 wrote:
And I hate to ask, since this an Apple forum, but do Android devices experience these "false errors messages" as well? I know android devices generally have many 3rd party YouTube apps, so maybe they don't get the same error messages iPhone users do?
Discussion of Adroid devices is not appropriate for this forum.  You have a vaild question.  Post it on the Android forums.

That's not cool, Google.
Addressing Google here is foolish and a waste of time.  Again, find an appropriate forum on Google to provide your feedback.

Seems that you can no longer hide them on your phone.  Try doing so in iTunes: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919.

  • My iTunes installation via Windows 7 does not install the Apple Mobile Device Support file

I have followed several suggestions to resolve the problem caused because of my update of iTunes does not install the Apple Mobile Device Support folder, thus making it impossible for me to sync my iPhone 4S to my desktop version of iTunes. I have tried to install the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi file and it almost completes the installation before "rolling back" the entire process and giving me a message that there was a problem with the installation. Has anyone been able to solve this problem. I use Windows 7. I have seem some :"solutions" that seem to work for some people, but not for me, and evidently not for many others? Finally, would it matter if I installed Safari on my desktop and tried to install iTunes using Safari?

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • Links not displaying properly on mobile devices

    Hi All,
I am having trouble with my website when viewing it on a mobile device (android, iphone). Everything displays well on the mobile devices except for links. Excluding menu items, everytime there is a link on the page, it creates a huge white space.
The website is http://www.conbeth.com. When viewed on a mobile device, you can really see the problem at http://conbeth.com/services.html. You can also see a problem on this page http://conbeth.com/forsaleresidential.html where there should be links to flyers and photos under the fist and second homes for sale, but on the mobile devices they are not there.
This has me completely stumped. Does anyone know what might be causing this problem?
I will provide any code you need. Thanks!

Spry menus are not Touch Screen friendly or suitable for Responsive Web Designs (optimized for mobile, tablet and desktops). That's part of why Adobe abandoned the Spry framework last year.  If you want mobile friendly,  you need  a better menu system.

  • Soundtrack genre not opening on my mobile devices

In iTunes on my  iMac the soundtrack genre contains several tracks and albums. When syncing to my iPad Air 2, and iPhone I cannot see the content of this particular  genre. All the other genres etc are fine. When trying to look at the soundtrack genre a screen saying "no content" (which i know is not true) briefly flashes up and then it goes back to the genre list. I have un synced and re synced this particular genre and removed and re synced the whole of iTunes but still cannot open this genre on my iPad or iPhone. Thanks.

        1.    Turn off iCloud for Pages on your mobile device at Settings > Pages > Use iCloud > Off.
        2.    Open Pages on your computer and move any documents in iCloud to your desktop for safe keeping.
        3.    Navigate to system preferences > iCloud > Manage and check that Pages documents are not taking any space in the cloud, delete them if they are.
        4.    Enable iCloud syncing for Pages on your mobile device and launch the App.
        5.    If Pages now opens properly, start to add back documents from your desktop one at a time (or in small groups if you have many).
