Not being recognized by itunes

Question

I have just purchased a second Ipod and when i log on to itunes a message replys "that another user is using ipod software please have them log off." Well I have loged off every user on my computer and still can't get itunes to recognize the new ipod even though my computer does.

Me again. After working on this several hours I have come to a couple of "solutions" I hope this applies to you as well.
If you are using one than one user account, make sure you log off the others. I know you tried this, however I realized I was simply switching users, NOT, logging completely off. If that doesn't solve it..well I tried.
If the computer is recognizing the ipod (or in other words it makes the little beep when you plug it in) try double clicking on the little green arrow on the bottom right of your bar that has "start" on it. Is it listing a USB Storage device, and ipod and a generic volume drive? To see if it is click on the USB device that contains your ipod and hit properties. If that is the case, then just wait 15 - 30 seconds to see if your ipod just shows up in itunes - I was getting impatient and manually disconnecting it and plugging it in again but If I had waited a few seconds longer itunes eventually would have picked it up. I hope this works though I don't understand why it works.
