Not burning an Audio File

For some reason,  my Mac will only now burn discs to MPEG 4 Audio, which means we can't play them on a normal CD player. I have burnt about 20 discs thinking all was well,  but have now realised none of them work! This literally happened for the first time when I burnt some new discs.  It cant be the discs surely?  Please help as need to do this for a daughters birthday party invitation! Thanks

Are you burning them in the iTunes app?

Adobe Audition CC does not playback any audio file. He opens it but does not react on the play key. It is after use audio hardware usb wi-fi headphone and return to build-it out. The program don't react now.
    I see problem:
I am unable to get playback at all in CS6 on Mac. The play button or spacebar will not move the playhead or make sound come out of the foamy things with the magnets. The play button toggles back and forth between green and white, but it isn't working. This is true in both multi track and waveform view.
Anyone have ideas on what the issue could be? Thanks!

Best bet would be to go into Preferences > Audio Hardware, verify your input and output devices are correct, and probably switch your Master Clock to the opposite setting.  If that fails, we can continue troubleshooting.
I have the same problem as the author writes. But these actions do not help

Unfortunately I believe that requires purchasing the new version, and I do
not have budget approval for such a purchase.

  • Files converted automatically to Mp3 instead of mpeg when burned as audio files

Cannot maintain mpeg music playlist files when burning using audio file burn mode

They will be compressed to MP3 when published. It is always better to have an uncompressed file to start with, easier also to edit with audio software (Audition, Audacity) without quality loss. Be sure that it will be reduced largely when published. And please, don't shout.... why those big fonts?

I am unable to burn mp3 audio files to cd.Every time it says failed due to media write error.I have tried different speeds. Can anyone help pls?

There are several different incompatible media sold as writeable CDs. You MUST match the media to the abilities of your drive.
I was flummoxed by buying 8x media when my drive was a 2x drive. I needed the other type, and there was nothing helpful in the diagnostics or the packaging that helped me understand that.
EDIT: There is an interesting helpful feature buried in System Profiler ... (read the last two lines of the report):

  • Is it possible for me to Burn an audio file in cd format not mp3 to play in my car. I don't seem to know how to do it in my mac .. Please I need help ASAP . Thanks

Hello community ... Hope all of you are happy and doing great today.... Please I need yet another valuable help from you all... I want to know if my MacBook pro can burn the type of audio format that can play in my car as my car does not play mp3 audio CDs ... It needs the kind of format used in general audio disc we get in shops for example  a jay-z album cd .... Please does anyone have an idea on what to do... I used to burn it on my then windows laptop with real player but now the real player on mac doesn't seem to do it ..... Any suggestions please?

Random Geeza is correct; I burn audio CDs frequently, and it's perfectly painless in iTunes,
    Create your playlist, ensure that all the tracks you want to record are checked, then click the 'burn' button at the bottom right of the window. You'll get this dialogue;
Select the settings you require, then click 'burn' - at that point you'll be prompted to insert a blank disc.
Don't put the disc in before then as it then requires a different procedure.

  • Settings for burning iTunes audio files to play on commercial CD players

    Hello All:
Requesting your help in setting correct preferences in iTunes in order to play my burned files onto a regular CD player. When I burn mp3s they are only audible on computer. I have a number of voiceover files recorded in AIFF and mp3 from Garage Band. When I burn them onto CD I can only play them on my computer. Your help is appreciated.
What setting can I use to resolve this? Thanks!

Some really old CD players do not like CD-R disks (which you have to use to burn a disk!). If this is the problem then there is not much you can do however consider the following options.
    1. Try burning at a slower speed 4x or 2x or even 1x
    2. Try a different brand of CD-R disk
    3. Get a different (newer) CD player
Certainly from what you describe you definitely want to choose burning as Audio CD.

  • ITunes not recognizing CD audio files

iTunes doesn't ask to import my CD containing cda audio files and when I click File/Add File to Library nothing happens.  Any suggestions?  The CD in question contains cda audio files recorded by my music teacher.

    Hi there,
I have the same problem. I have 2 Plextor 760A DVD burners.
    Run Vista 32 bit.
I have also NERO installed with INCD.
I did use a Virtual CD program but since then uninstalled it but it didn't fix my problem.
Anyone out there who found a fix? I tried uninstalling/re-installing iTUNES but it didn't fix this problem.
Please help. I need to burn my purchased music so that I have a backup and re-import as MP3.
Is it maybe a NERO InCD issue.
Funnily I can import CD's. just cannot burn them.

  • IDVD does not burn camera audio - does burn ITunes audio

I have a Sony DCR-TRV460 video camera. The computer does not see my camera. I used an ADS Pyro A/V Link to get the movie from the camera to the computer. When I preview the movie in IMovie, I get the audio and video from the camera perfectly. When I move the movie to IDVD, I preview everything perfectly. When I burn the DVD I lose the audio from my camera. I have tried exporting the audio and that didn't work either. Any ideas on what I can do?

To add to Sue's post, have you tried the Firewire connection (camcorder to computer via Firewire, nothing in-between)? If the computer doesn't recognize the camcorder doing this, then that is problem 1 that needs solved prior to trying another sequence. Be sure your camcorder is set to 16-bit audio, many are set at 12-bit by default. Once you get the computer to recognize the camcorder, export this sequence back to tape, then re-import from the new tape and try burning that and see what happens.

  • Can no longer burn an audio CD in iTunes 10.

Suddenly I can not burn an audio CD in iTunes. I currently have iTunes v. 10.7 which I have just upgraded from the previous version as I had the same problem burning a CD. I am using OSX v. 10.6.8. When burning a CD or DVD I always use my ex drive a Pioneer DVR-111D. I have never had any problems until recently. When I try to burn a playlist to CD I use the same settings that I have always used. Having selected BURN, the process shows as Initializing then starts to burn the first tune. Unfortunately, it hangs on the first tune and goes no further. I have tried various playlists and different CDs. Same problem However, when I burn the same playlist, using the same Pioneer DVR-111D to burn but using Toast 11.1 it works without a hitch.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Michael.

Has nobody got any suggestions on what may be causing this problem. From searches I have made I see I am not the only one with the same burning issue.

  • What app do I need to install on my iphone so that audio files that have been shared with me will play?

I have google drive on my phone but I can not play any audio files that are shared with me because it keeps telling me that it is not supported without the right app.

Perform this Google search: ".dwg files on mac." The results should provide answers for you.

  • Audio tab in iWeb shows no audio files

I'm using iWeb 3.0.4 I wanted to add some audio content to a page but the Audio Tab shows no music to pick from. I thought it comes from my iTunes library.
The Photos and Widgets Tabs seem to work.
    Any suggestions?

You can get the files from Home folder/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music
Note that dragging audio files from iTunes can cause problems with the files not loading on the web page.
Its better to bring them in from the Finder and better still to upload them to the server and use an alternative player...

  • No Audio File in Premiere Pro CS6

I have a Sony NX30. I use the sony media importer to get the files on my computer and then use the files in Premiere Pro CS6. Everything works fine.
I have a new desktop computer. Same windows OS. I installed the exact same sony media importer and the exact same Premiere Pro CS6. But on the new computer, when I import a video (using the sony media importer) there is no sound in Premiere Pro. Not even an audio file. Just the video file.
Here is what I learned while trouble shooting:
I can play the video files using the windows media player and I can hear the sound. The sound is there.
I tested some older video files previously imported on my old computer and they worked just fine on the new computer. I could hear the sound and there was a sound file in Pr.
The files I originally tried to import onto the new computer (that had no sound in Pr CS6) I imported on the old computer and they played just fine in Pr.
The newly imported files on the old computer will not play sound when I try them on the new computer (I put the files on an external hard drive and move them on the new computer.)
FYI: the sony media importer has no settings, you just click import amd it works. There are no options to change anything.
Anybody have a clue what could be the problem?
    Thanks,
    Steve

  • Logic Can't Locate Audio Files, Random Freak Occurrence?

I'm not sure if anyone else has experienced this, but today I was asked to bounced down an instrumental of a remix that I had finished a few weeks ago. So when I went to go open up the project, Logic was saying that it couldn't find 3 audio files now all of a sudden, which were all vocal tracks by the way.
At first I thought Logic was looking for edited audio files because the file names had something like this after them... "#21312.wav". I did not see actual audio files that had any of these edited names so I thought that I had really lost the edited audio files some how, but what I did actually see with those edited names were actual folders inside the "Edits" folder of the project folder.
After the project had opened, I looked inside the Media bay window and the three audio files that Logic could not find had an exclamation mark next to them obviously. So I thought about trying something... I double clicked on the exclamation mark on each of the missing files again and I just decided to see what would happen if I chose the audio with out the "#12321.wav" names. It seems as though everything loaded fine and that those "#234323.wav" are not actual files, but folders with edit instructions for the original file in the "audio" folder of a project folder.
This has been the first and hopefully the last time it has happened to me (knock on wood), and I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this before? I would love to know why it happened out of the blue. Logic 8 has been good to me so far, hardly any crashes or other problems, hopefully it's just a random one time freak occurrence!

I did have this issue early on in version 7. It had to do with where I stored certain files and it happened after switching from a G5 to an Intel Mac. I think the issue came from having my Logic content on a separate drive and folder, and when I reinstalled logic I didn't use the same folder for its content.

  • Determining audio files and corresponding slide # in Presenter

It is a big challenge to edit audio files.  Presenter does not sequentially number audio files, they appear to be random.  Which means you have to hunt and peck to find the correct audio file to edit for the appropriate slide.  Any fix for this?

    See, now we're getting somewhere!
When I wrote that line about having corresponding audio files after publishing (ex: a24x[some number].mp3), I was referencing the .mp3 files you get as a result of publishing the PPT deck using the Presenter plug in.
    However, as you wrote:
"...Each of these mp3 files also has a corresponding *.lthmb file (for example 1088225537.mp3 has 1088225537.lthmb)..."
what you're looking at is the folder that Presenter creates the moment you start incorporating audio using the recording feature that Presenter offers (the same would be true if you imported audio files using Presenter as well.)  And, as you have found out, trying to get a handle on which audio file goes w/ a particular slide is horrendous at best.
Okay, may I suggest another tactic?
Let's try this: Publish the PPT deck you have.  What you'll end up with is a set of files and folders, but I want you to look for the data folder that's created as a result of the publishing process. (Unless you specify where you're publishing to, Presenter will publish to a directory called "My Adobe Presentations" by default, so you may have to look there on your harddrive)  Inside the data folder will be a list of mp3 files, which, if everything goes smoothly, should make it much, much easier to see which audio is used by a specific slide.
Here's what I mean: for example, after publishing, I have a data folder and inside I found the following file: a24x9x3.mp3  As I double click the mp3 file (which causes it to play using Windows Media on my laptop), I can hear that it corresponds to my slide 9 in my PPT deck.  And there's corresponding mp3 files for each and every slide I have in my deck.  I'm clicking another file (wouldn't it be nice to see what I'm doing???) a24x20x3.mp3, and that file corresponds to my slide 20 content in PowerPoint.
So again, give publishing in PowerPoint a shot and see if that makes it any easier.  Well...not nearly as easy as recording in Audition/Soundbooth/Audacity, but it's close enough to hopefully dig you out of that hole you're in now.

  • How to move large audio files to deskop from iPhone?

How can I move large audio files from my iPhone 4S (IOS7) to my iMac (OSX 10.5.8)?
    I can not use:
    - iTunes (will not install high enough to this ol'mac to work with IOS7)

This is kind of a big issue for me because I make long interviews with my iPhone but now I do not know how to move the files from my iPhone to my iMac for editing and pubishing.
All ideas are welcome (except buy a new iMac)! Thanks in advace!

You cannot use the iPhone unless you have the previous owners AppleID & password.
See this -> Find My iPhone Activation Lock: Removing a device from a previous owner’s account
Sounds like you need to change your process when you buy used iPhones.
