(not charging) - Apple support let down. Help?

I have a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo running 10.5.7
Recently the macbook stopped charging the battery. I have multiple adapters, none of which charge the battery.
The macbook is just out of warranty when this happened. I called apple regarding it, was told this was one time call they'd allow without charging and was told to reset the pram/smc. Neither did anything. Battery would still not charge and when the adapter is plugged in it said (not charging). Apple rep said to purchase new battery over the phone and all would be be good. I ask specifically if there could be other damage internally - they denied that as a possibility.
Fastforward to purchasing new battery for macbook. Return home and battery has 30% charge out of the box. Plug in adapter = (not charging)
Can anybody offer any solution that may help my problem. I am really frustrated I have to go return a new battery and prbably pay the restocking fee for opening it because of the misdirection from apple support.

I followed iyacyas notion that maybe the dc connector was damaged, but rather than purchase a new one, i disassembled my macbook down to the dc connector and completely removed it. I did a quick air blow on all the parts and then reassembled... Now i got an orange/green light and charging battery!
Too bad about the restocking fee though but atleast there is some relief!

    Your photos are gone.  When you synch your phone with iPhoto, the actual picture file does not synch, rather is is a very small thumbnail file suitable for viewing on the phone, but of such small resolution that it's useless for anything other than viewing on the phone.  In any case, Apple makes no way for you to retrieve these thumbnail file.
    If you deleted photos from iPhoto, your only hope is if you have Time Machine or another backup that might have had those photos.  Are they perhaps still in the "Trash" within the iPhoto app?

    Another user had success doing the following:
    I got some help from an apple assistant on the phone. It is kind of round about way to get in.
    Here is what he said to do and it is working for me...
      a. on the device that is asking you for the security questions go to "settings", > "store" >
          tap the Apple ID and choose view"Apple ID" and sign in.
      b. Tap on payment information and add a credit/debit card of your preference then select
          "done", in the upper right corner
      c. sign out and back into iTunes on the device by going to "settings"> "store" > tap the
          Apple ID and choose "sign-out" > Tap "sign -in" > "use existing Apple ID" and you
          should be asked to verify your security code for the credit /debit card and NOT the
          security questions.
      d. At this time you can remove the card by going back in to edit the payment info and
          selecting "none" as the card type then saving the changes by selecting "done". You
          should now be able to use your iTunes store credit without answering the security
          questions.
    It's working for me ...I just have to put in my 3 digit security pin from the credit card I am using.

    The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging).     Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

    Instead of using Migration Assistant, the best way is to use the Target Disk Mode, so you will save headaches (Migration Assistant creates a new user with the transferred data).
    To do this, just connect both Macs with the Thunderbolt cable, and then, start the MacBook Pro holding the T key, so a Thunderbolt or FireWire icon should appear on the display. After that, go to the iMac, open Finder, and the hard drive of the MacBook Pro will appear on the Finder sidebar as an external drive, under "Devices". Just access to it, go to the folders with your iTunes and iPhoto libraries, and copy them to the iMac

Or was there a mistake in charging me more than the invoice which says "Your (card) has been charged PHP 59,990.00" and "All prices displayed are inclusive of duty and taxes"?
    I can't figure out because Apple doesn't respond to my emails and there's no way I can call Apple Support from the Philippines since the telephone number they gave is wrong.
    I'm a big fan of Apple, but my experience purchasing this brand-new MacBook Air and trying to get support/explanation has been a disaster.

    Right. I just want to clarify that it turns out, the prices reflected in the Apple app store are not the final price. Despite the fact that the invoice said that the price will be reflected in one's credit card, it turns out, there are other charges added. I just wish Apple would be transparent about this so that buyers will not be surprised. Buyers will also have the option to buy the product at a brick-and-mortar-store where the actual price is the actual price (no hidden charges) when they learn that buying from the Apple online store will have them incur additional charges.

    This is a user to user support forum, you are not addressing Apple here. I've also asked the hosts to edit your IMEI from an international public forum. Dangerous thing to do.

  • IPhone 4 battery not charging, factory restore didn't help

    My iPhone 4 battery died, so I plugged it in to charge and it says its not charging. Tried several different chargers, all say same. Held down sleep button and home button and it told me to connect to iTunes.  Connected to iTunes which tells me I need a factory restore.  Did all that and the phone is still not charging, and I again tried several different chargers, even trying to charge off the computer. Any suggestions?

    Apple provides warranty service on the iPhone.  If there's no Apple store near you, you can call Apple Care and they will send you a mailer in which to send your phone to them.  You can also arrange for a rental unit so that you aren't without a phone.

    Go to control panel "Uninstall a program" and remove:
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
    After you have uninstalled all the items listed above go to start menu and click the computer link then open your c drive. After opening the c drive click "organize" on the upper left hand corner and select "folder and search options" then select the "view" tab. Then select the "Show hidden files and folders" and click the apply button and select ok and close.
    Open your c drive and open the "users" file and then open the folder containg your selected computer name. After the file opens select the "local" folder and right click and select delete for all Apple files (itunes, quick time etc) Then open the "temp" file and remove and delete all apple files that may be in the temp file as you did in your "local" folder.
    Then download itunes 9 from oldapps.com/itunes and install. Once installed itunes will open and you can update to a newer version from itunes

  • Wifi connection slow after streaming, Apple support couldn't help

    I have since quite a while problems with my internet connection. I tried it in several countries, but always the same: As soon as I stream something or open to many browser tabs, my wifi-connection becomes terrible and stays terrible. It's definitly dependent on how I use the internet. If I open 3 youtube videos or the top10 Google search results, my wifi connection becomes bad. My Speed drops to lower than 1Mbit, but lots of timeouts. After a while it works again.
    What I already tried:
    -Reinstalling MacOS
    -Installing windows (same problems with windows)
    -Resetting SCM
    -creating new wifi environments
    -putting MTU to 1453
    -clear DHCP
    -deleting some files in the library for resetting connections
    -clearing browser cache
    -testing with Safari and Chrome
    -disableing bluetooth
    Now I bought a CSL Wlan Stick but there are not mac drivers out there and I don't have a CD-Drive for installing the drivers.
    What can I do?

    The only possible way that you can restore the data is by restoring the iPad from a backup. Did you restore from a backup at the end of the restoring process?
    Why was Apple support not able to help? Is the backup gone?

    have you tried resetting it with the on/off button and homescreen button? hold them both down until the apple logo appears. not sure how long you hold them down for, 30 sec maybe.

    Although printer is wireless capable I have it connected directly to iMac via USB to help with speed.  I just completed resetting printer and reinstalling to no avail, still approx 2 min to print one page.

    I've had this phone since Christmas. This started about a week ago. I noticed that my phone was randomly shutting off, no matter what power level it was at. Then within the week it started not charging when plugged in. I've tried multiple lightning cables and power sources, with only my car charger remotely working (Verizon product). It will go up about 7% then stop. This morning I noticed when I turned it back on after one of it's random power offs, that the edges of the screen were flickering. I've tried rebooting it and restoring it and nothing has helped. Has anyone else had this problem? Am I going to have to pay for a new phone?
