Not Charging Fully

I have had my 2nd gen Nano since Christmas of 2006 and I have never had a problem until now. The Ipod works fine my problem is that such as last night I had the battery meter down into the red so I plugged it in and I usually leave it plugged in all night and I do not use the sleep option on my computer because it won't wake up afterwards. Anyways when I woke up this morning it still said that it was charging and it had been plugged in for about 6-8 hours and by this evening the battery meter is almost 1/2 way down.
Is the battery dying? I recently got satellite radio and I don't really use the Ipod anymore and since I've quit using it regularly the battery life has completely nose dived. PLEASE HELP!!!!

I will give that a try. Also I often plug it in at a different computer that doesn't have Itunes and within 3-4 hours the battery does say that it is charged so I am confused. But when I get the opportunity I will restore my ipod and see if that helps.
THANK YOU!!!

  • Battery is charging intermitently and does not charge fully

    Hi,
I have a HP Envy Ultrabook and it is less than 5 months old.
Recently I noticed that my ultrabook's battery is not charging a few minutes after I plugged in my AC adapter. Also it does not charge fully.
At times the charging may start again for a few seconds but stopped.
Furthermore, the battery never reach 100% charge capacity but stops at 90+%.
As I cannot remove my battery since this is an ultrabook, please advise.
    Thanks.

  • Ipod battery not charges fully

    Hi friends,

Also the PC is not able to recognise the IPOD , so does the ITUNE also. I hope it's because the IPOD is not fully charged. But why does it take more than 2 days for battery charging? Do i need to approach a servie center for replacing the battery? Please help me.
Note: I can see only blinking orange light whenever i connected it to a PC or through a external electric power supplier.

  • My mini I pad not charging fully it,s now down to 3%and that's the most it will charge

My mini I pad has gradually lost battery capacity and will now only charge to 3% it's only 15 months old ,how do I get it to fully charge again?

Have you tried a soft-reset to see if it charges after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
If it doesn't then have you tried a different charger and/or cable ? Do you know anybody else with an iPad so that you can try their charger and cable and they can try yours ?

  • Battery drains like crazy, and now not charging fully! 3GS

My 3GS was 100% at 9am. I got a text message at 9:36am, and the battery was at 97%, so I went to reply to it. My phone shut off, like it had a dead battery, so I put it on the charger. About two minutes later, it turned back on and said it was at 62% battery! So, I kept it on the charger. It got to 72% and wouldn't charge any more. I took it off the charger for a moment before putting it back on. It wwent up to 73% and said it was full. I did that a couple more times, but it stopped charging once it hit 74%, so I'm not sure what to do. I need my phone! I don't have a land-line, so this is the only way I can communicate with my family, friends, potential employers, etc.
(I was having the problem of the phone shutting off before I upgraded to OS5, but it got worse once I upgraded.)

It has never been dropped in water, and the closest it ever gets to water is being in my pocket or bag when it rains. I did a full restore, and it got worse...

  • Battery does not charge fully

I recently calibrated my battery using the procedures described by Apple. However, I noticed that the charging stops at 96% at which time the LED indicator on the charger turns green.
    Is my battery faulty?

That may be normal as the charging circuitry normally shuts off once the battery reaches full charge and does not turn back on until the charge level reaches 94% or below.

  • Battery not charging fully

My 2 week old MacBook is saying that the maximum charge is 97%, yet I have the application iStat, which is telling me that the overall health of my battery is 100%. I'm confused, what is the health of my battery?

Hi justineblaire621: The fact that your battery is charging to 97% is perfectly fine. It is designed that way to prevent overcharging. See this Apple article for more details: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=88344
You battery health is an estimate of the remaining life of your battery, it is the remaining full charge capacity divided by the initial capacity, expressed as a percentage. Yours is fine.

  • Mac book pro is not charging fully. any USB i use is disengaged by the computer as 'it uses to much power'. Can anyone help me please

My Mac book Pro seems to have a power problem. I have used a telstra prepaid USB for 18 months as broadband. It has been great.
    Yesterday, I downloaded Mozilla Firefox.
Sometimes later, I got a message that the USB ( telstra broadband toogle) had been disabled because it was drawing too much power from the computer and could cause damage.
I trashed Mozilla to see if that would fix the problem - it didn't.
I tried a second USB and got the same message.
I notice that the power % to my computer is slowly dimishing, even though I have the computer plugged in.
Looks like I have a reasonable problem.
Can anyone tell me how to sort out the problem please?

  • My ipod shuffle will not charge...what can i do?, my ipod shuffle will not charge...what can i do?

my ipod shuffle will not charge fully, the light that comes on when i try to charge just flashes red, and the battery lasts for about 20 mins max and then advises battery is low and then dies!

That's often an indication that the dock connector at the bottom of the phone is either dirty or damaged.  Blow compressed air on it and/of gently brush it with a clean, dry toothbtush.  Also be sure the usb cable is able to make a good connection to the connector without being obstructed by your case.  If it's a tight fit, try removing your case.

  • MY 30G ZEN M VISION DOES NOT CHARGE FULL

My zen is not charging fully it charges maybe 3/4 to 90%, this has been going on for a whole week. I tried different computers, i have checked for updates, i have also used the recovery tool. This incicent happened after my zen battery went completely dead after such a long time ( so actually had to wait for it tobe charged ), now i dont have a fully charged zen. Any suggestions would mean alot

How long have you had the player & is it used alot. If you have a wall charger use it until it stops charging that usually about 3-4 hrs on direct current much longer on the usb. If you can only charge by usb then use a rear port on the computer to charge since you get full power from there front ports are not part of the motherboard the rear ones most likely are. If after that you still don't get a full charge then you will probably need to replace your internal battery in the near future.

my i pod touch was fully discharged and now will not charge at all. what can i do

Try the not charging topic of:
    iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
Also try another cable, another charging source. Further look at the dock connector in the iPod. Look for abnormalities like foreign material, bend or corroded contacts, broken or cracked plastic.

  • HP Envy Battery Problems - not charging when on, charging fully when off

I've had my HP Envy laptop for about 3 months, and yesterday I noticed that when it was plugged in it wasn't charging (the battery icon says "plugged in, not charging"). I turned it off overnight, plugged in, and this morning the battery was fully charged. It only seems to not charge when it is turned on. I have tried removing the battery, turning on, deleting the ACPI-compliant control method battery, turning off, and turning back on again (as advised in other forum responses), but with no joy. At first I thought it could either be a battery issue, but the fact it fully charged overnight whilst off would lead me to believe it's not, and is probably a software / settings issue. Any ideas please, I've run out of google search ideas!!
